When I come back to London, I will definitely stay here.

Things you cannot beat.
1. Location.
It’s a .22 mile walk to Paddington Station, which can get you anywhere in the city quickly
2. The staff.
The staff were completely top-notch….attentive, friendly.
3. Cleanliness.
The property and room were always immaculately clean
4. Pricing.
You won’t find a better deal anywhere in London for the location and the quality of hotel. Especially with breakfast included!

Other tidbits

The breakfast staff were very friendly and attentive, the breakfast itself is somewhat unimaginative, but it does get the job done.
Coffee, tea, eggs, beans, toast, mushrooms, tomatoes, fruit salad, porridge…etc. Certainly a good way to start your day and mitigate the expensive cost of food in London.

Things some might complaint about, but we didn’t really care.(and neither should you.)

The lift/elevator runs painfully slow slowly.

This is an older constructed building, so the walls are very thin and you can hear everything going out in the hallway. Didn’t bother us, but it might bother you.

There is no air-conditioning but ample heat. We were here in March so air-conditioning wasn’t an issue for us
There was ample hot water in the shower and the water pressure was adequate.

There is a small bar and sitting area and safe deposit boxes are available.

This is not a modern hotel but it is comfortable clean and friendly. Hot shower. Good breakfast. Very near Paddington and bus routes, tube.
Quiet in night. Good restaurants shops and cafes nearby. Plenty of parking. WiFi.

This hotel was great value for the location, just a short walk from the tube station. The staff were possibly some of the friendliest we have encountered in a hotel. There is a free car park directly outside the hotel which is a great addition if you have braved driving into London.
The hotel is tired but it’s just somewhere to sleep at the end of a long day.
The breakfast was great. There are a few restaurants nearby if you are looking for somewhere to eat.

The room we stayed had bed bugs and we were eaten up big time. We were moved to another room. Staff is very friendly. The owner reported that he is going to take care of the room. Learned a lesson to check the bedding as soon as we enter from now on! This is the very first time this had happened to us. We were naive. Did not think it could be bed bugs! Being very close to Paddington railway station makes the hotel vulnerable to all kinds of infestations and infections.

Comfortable stay, small room, hotel could definitely do with a lot of updating, don't think it has been done since the 70s,. Bedroom was small but comfortable and clean. Staff were helpful and breakfast was adequate. Selling point is definitely the location. 2 minutes walk to 2 tube stations with direct tubes to central London, but still quiet enough for a good night's sleep. Would stay again.

This is a historic building so the rooms are on the smaller side but have everything one needs. The staff are amazing very friendly and helpful. Haly was awesome with answering all the questions and listening to us babble. They have full breakfast downstairs and a bar to chill at in the early evening till 10 or 11pm. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

GREAT PLACE TO STAY, WONDERFUL LOCATION WITH LOTS OF SHOPS, PUBS AND RESTAURANTS NEARBY AND PADDINGTON STATION LESS THAN A 5 MINUTE WALK .MUSEUMS AND OTHER ATTRACTIONS ARE ALSO NEARBY. The staff were great very helpful and friendly. The big breakfast that was included was great we were surprised that it was order off a menu with great service and choices. It is an older hotel with smaller rooms. Has a bar and a nice lounging area. There are lots of good restaurants around the corner. Bella Italia was our favourite and we ate there every night. Paddington Station was a short walk away.

Staff were lovely- couldn’t do enough for us - a highly professional team. However, the room was a bit of a let-down. It was much smaller than suggested in the website photo: okay for one night but for 4 nights, somewhat cramped. It was scrupulously clean, a testament to the staff but overheated even for February: we only had a comfortable night’s sleep when we left the window open all night.

This is a cozy family-run business with a friendly and helpful staff. It's an older building with clean rooms and all the basic and essential ammenities. Nothing fancy, just solid accommodations at a convenient locaiton, a very short walk to Paddington station. The included breakfast has good variety and several hot food options. Highly recommendation for the traveler who quality simplicity.

The room was not clean at all, the cover on the beds were ripped and we were given a singular thin blanket to sleep in, in this cold weather. They also gave us a basement room and told that we picked it when booking it did not include any information about a basement room. I was very disgusted and disappointed. The bathroom also was really unsanitary as there was no fan for the bathroom which explained the unusual strong smell coming from the bathroom. Me and my family did not stay overnight like we were suppose to due to this. I would like a refund if possible.

Do not book at this hotel. The rooms are old, small, outdated, and disgusting. Its clear management doest want to bother updating at all. The blankets are torn, heating noisy, showerheads are rusted out, bed springs are broken, and the room smell like cigarettes.

Double room small, wire for kettle not long enough to go under the desk to the plug socket, no extra pillows provided, decor dated- we had marks all over wall and the bathroom window wouldn’t fully shut so we had to leave the window unlocked which let in cold, room cold no heating on, checkout is 11 am but we were disturbed by the cleaners hoovering the room next door at 10 am.

Interesting stay. It was the most affordable in the area, a few minutes away from Paddington station. It’s old but everything is clean. Breakfast is 7am - 9am everyday including weekends. You have a limited menu which you order from (fruit salad, cereal, beans/mushrooms/bacon). The keys for each room are kept by them, and everytime you leave the building you need to return the keys to them and request it when you come back to the hotel. It was sufficient for our needs, not necessarily luxurious but simple and clean.

Really nice family run hotel. Great front desk support. Breakfast room is lovely and the breakfast is substantial. It's an amazing location at a great price, but the rooms are very dated and very small. We could barely get our luggage in the room in a way we could still walk to the bathroom! It's good there is a lounge and bar area if you need to spread out. Having a substantial lift is helpful.

Very impressed with the free parking, was worried it would be full but we was lucky to get space when we arrived. Staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are basic but clean and had a decent tv. You don’t get a duvet on the beds which was a little odd but we was only there for two nights so wasn’t too fussed. The hotel is in a fab local, very close to the centre. We walked everywhere and just let the car on the cat park for our whole stay. Breakfast included is nice, however it’s only small. We are used to big plates! But it was always warm and nice. Would stay here again I think.

They wouldn’t even give us an iron to use on clothes, sent me to the basement where laundry was done. Great location, terrible hotel

The basement rooms were noisy ( creaking floors above ).
Breakfast finished at 09:00 - too early when I wanted a run first.
One of rooms had no heating, this was reported at 5pm, and we told them we were not back in till after 01:00. On return still no heating so my friends slept fully clothed.

Lovely staff, comfy bed and all amenities provided. Car parking was easy and plentiful and they allowed me to leave my car during the day after checking out. Breakfast was fast and plenty of choice. The bar and lounge was lovely to wait before and after checking out. Great atmosphere and very accommodating. Will stay here again and highly recommend.

We stayed from December 20th-22nd, for the area and time of the year the price was excellent compared to other hotels near by. Don’t get me wrong it’s not the ritz but for your money you’re getting a clean bed, shower and a basic breakfast to start the day with. All the staff were lovely and very helpful- unfortunately on the first evening our hot water wasn’t working, after chatting to reception they were on it and helpful. It turns out our hot water did work but the shower tap is on backwards so we had to turn it to cold to get hot water, no harm done and a hot shower had 😊 24hr reception is ideal for early mornings/late nights. Is this hotel spectacular? No, but for your money you’re getting everything you need for a nice stay- we’d come back in the future

This is an old property and the rooms need an update, but it was clean. The location was very convenient for us, because we had to take the train to Heathrow Airport from Paddington station, which is just one block from there. I was surprised with the breakfast, that was very good. The staff was extremely attentive and friendly.

We booked a room for a family of 5 and was told it was inter connecting rooms. This is not the case it is 2 seperate rooms and they said you can leave your mains front doors open and have the next door in the corridor with a sliding bolt as your main door. This is not secure or safe for a family. There was one toilet as well considering this was basically 2 seperate rooms. The room size for 5 people was also ridiculous. We was offered to pay more for another 2 rooms but 4 of us could be in one and an adult alone in another further down the hall. My family would still be separated for our nights stay away. My children were very upset and unsettled by all of this so we chose to move hotels to one that can actually accomodate us as a family of 5 in one room which we had asked for in the beginning and found one further down the street which also was alot cheaper as well.

Mitre House has been my home away from home in London for the past several years.
