The location (10 mins walk to Paddington underground and 15 minutes to Kensington Gardens Hyde Park) excellent. A free carpark on the premises, a bonus.

Breakfast very limited but edible.

Within 10 minutes - dinner - truly great food at The Victoria public house.

Let’s start with the good things. The location of the property is amazing, it’s a very safe neighborhood and close to the underground station making it easy to go anywhere. Breakfast is included but there’s not a lot of options and you have 2 hours to have it, so if you are planning to wake up late this place is definitely not for you. But the staff from breakfast is very helpful and friendly, I would say they are the highlight of the property.
Unfortunately my experience with the cleanliness was very poor. My room had so much dust that it was hard to breathe. So if you have any allergies like me, I would not recommend this place to you. I understand that it’s an old city, buildings are old, but this is not an excuse for the inside rooms being like that.
I really needed to share this experience because I regretted so badly choosing this place that I was looking new hotels to stay in the area.

Room was clean but Incredibly hot. (We were there for a hot spell, but it was stiffling hot in our corner room.) Front desk and staff were VERY helpful and accommodating. Location was INCREDIBLE! Paddington station was about a 7 minute walk and it was convenient to all trains. We walked all over London and this was an easy location. Lots of pubs, different ethnic restaurants and stores in the immediate area. Breakfast was acceptable-several options. Might stay here again in the cooler months since they don't have any air conditioning. Otherwise a lovely place! Can't beat the convenience!

Room was small but accommodating for 3 people. The only thing we used it for was to sleep in. The Lift (Elevator) was very slow. Always took the elevator up but walked down the stairs. Room was very clean. No A/C but we knew this when we booked the room reservation. We really didn't need A/C until that last night were were there. The provided fan helped a lot. The general location of the hotel is a very comfortable walk to Paddington Station.

Liked the location but very difficult to find! Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast and bar were OK.
The rooms were extremely small for the price , even by European standards.
There was a significant radiator leak in our room so they asked us to move to another and we did with no help offered even though we had to repack and move up one floor. that was a major mistake as the largest heat wave to hit the area in decades arrived, needless to say, there was no air conditioning!

We loved this hotel! It's within walking distance from Paddington Station and in a quiet area of London. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful, and the servers, most courteous. We didn't make use of the bar because it smelled a bit musty and was empty. All the staff were friendly and helpful. I highly recommend the Mitre House Hotel!

Well, the staff were very accommodating and the location is excellent.
No fault of the establishment, just be aware that depending on the weather there is no A/C available.
A very hearty breakfast daily and a charming atmosphere.
The easy walking distance restaurant referrals are worth checking out.
All in all a most enjoyable stay

We upgraded our room to a Superior because it was larger, had 2 chairs, a cupboard, + a wee vanity. We liked that the twin beds were side by side to make a king & were very comfortable with 4 pillows + extra bedding. We liked the upgraded quality & quantity of toilet paper supplied & toiletrees provided. The included full course breakfast was spectacular in a very elegant, upgraded setting. Wonderful. The all day/evening Bar is a great feature to catch a drink anytime.
We did not like that breakfast ended at 9am. Should be 10am! The shower in our room was the worst ever of any hotel we stayed in. Ridiculous honestly! A badly needed improvement asap.
The location of this hotel is perfect- a 5 minute easy walk from Paddington Station and the hotel is in a lovely setting. There is no air conditioning (Fan provided.) so be sure to not stay here during hot temps. It was 33c during our stay! Regardless, I highly recommend this hotel & it has an elevator!

This is a dated and tired property. The floors creaky and bed just divan bed. Bathroom is like a cubicle. The guest on the floor above woke me up due to so much movement I could hear their footsteps and flushing of the toilet.

The location of this hotel is great. It is very close to Paddington Station which means and easy way to get anywhere. For example, it was 30 minutes from Heathrow Airport. The room was quiet and clean. My only complaint, no airconditioning and we had record highs of 30+ degrees (over 90F). The breakfast was a proper English one, no powdered eggs here. The staff was excellent, very nice and helpful

The mitre hotel is located an easy walk from paddington station. The hotel staff is very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. The hotel offers a large sitting area off the lobby, a bar and a proper English breakfast in the morning. Our room was clean and comfortable. The room was small but we didn't go to london to sit in the room so it worked for us. Lots of restaurant options nearby. We had a great 9 day stay.

Great location and has everything you need. The property was absolutely older and the rooms are on the smaller side, but it provided everything we needed for a good nights sleep and to prepare for our days in London. Beds/sheets were clean, bathroom functional, and breakfast (included) got us ready for the day. The hotel has a noticeable “clean” smell (no odour or even bleach) and not musty, which was appreciated.

Overall, can’t go wrong with this hotel, especially for its location: close to paddington station, Hyde park, Kensington palace, Harrods, etc. Thanks for the awesome stay!

We recently stayed at the Mitre House Hotel and overall had a pleasant experience thanks to the excellent staff and location. Everyone we encountered at reception, the bar, and restaurant was friendly, welcoming, and very helpful throughout our stay. The hotel itself is charming and full of character, set in a historic building in a lovely Kensington neighborhood. It’s also very convenient for Paddington Station, only about a 5–6 minute walk away (though be careful to use the correct station exit). Our balcony overlooked a beautiful street, although signage recommended not to use it.

The included breakfast was adequate with plenty of toast and tea, but it was fairly basic and not what I’d consider a full English breakfast (no sausages and only 1 bacon)

The main downside was the layout of family rooms 101/102. The setup is awkward for families with younger children: two separate rooms with two different keys, and both doors spring shut automatically, making lockouts easy. The kids’ room has no bathroom, so bathroom access is either through the main bedroom or via a public hallway entrance, which isn’t ideal. The rooms are also very small, with limited outlets and storage.

The bathroom was cramped, with a half shower curtain that easily floods the floor. Overall, the setup may work for families with older children, but I wouldn’t recommend it for younger kids. Also, the lift is very small and slow.

This was our third stay at the Mitre House Hotel. Such a great location in Sussex Gardens. It's within walking distance from Paddington Station as well as two tube stops: Paddington and Lancaster Gate (which means it is walkable to Kensington Gardens and the Marble Arch. Room rates are reasonable and include a complimentary breakfast. Since we arrive early in the morning, we stop to drop our luggage, spend the day sightseeing, returning late afternoon to check in. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Our room is a bit snug in spots but comfortable and clean. There was closet space to hang clothes and stow luggage. There are several terrific restaurants within a couple blocks of the hotel. And it is safe to walk about the neighborhood to and from restaurants or the tube or train station at all hours.

The front office staff (Mohammed and others) were friendly, The English breakfast was decent and filling. Proximity to Paddington Station was a big advantage. Our family stayed for 5 nights. We had two separate rooms but shared one bathroom. Mitre House is conveniently located within 5 minutes walking distance from Paddington Station. The front office staff (Mohammed, Vinny, and others) were friendly and helpful. Our adult son who has autism was treated with kindness and respect. Our son enjoyed talking to the front office staff. The English breakfast was decent and filling. The kitchen staff were also friendly and courteous. We had two separate stays at Mitre House during our England trip. We stored our large suitcase at the hotel when we travelled to Cornwall for three nights. The lift (elevator) was a convenient amenity as well.

We enjoyed our two nights at the Mitre House hotel. It was such a good location, really about an 8 minute walk from Paddington Station. Restaurants are close by, very walkable or connect with the Hop On Hop Off bus just three blocks away, staff were very helpful, we thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast, excellent servers. Coffee and hot tea were available at the small bar anytime. We enjoyed visiting with other guests in the “living room” area. One gentleman shared his musical talent with us by playing beautifully on the piano one evening. Great time!

I am a senior travelling solo and the staff were most helpful getting my luggage to / from my room. The breakfast was a nice surprise not the usual continental as at most hotels, but a hot English breakfast instead . Being waited on was a real treat. I would definitely stay there again.
