Easy to travel to and from, a few mins from Paddington station. Plenty of food and shop options, great area. Lovely staff, easy check in experience. Tidy and clean room. I was in the ground floor front room and was loud every time someone came into the door, it buzzes for about 5 seconds. I wore earplugs to combat this. Also the shower door wouldn’t shut properly. Apart from this the bed was spacious and comfy, plenty of tea and coffee amenities. Lovely stay and I would stay again

I went for the cheapest hotel in the area and was pleasantly surprised that it was clean, quiet and had everything I needed in a perfect location.

The location was nice but that is the only positive. The bathroom was grimy; the mattress was hard as stone; the room was directly on the street and incredibly noisy; and worst of all, on my second night, I found a sewing needle sticking out of the bed covers. Do not stay here.

The area is great, maybe the only good thing. The hotel is relatively clean .. the bathroom has mould in the sink & in the shower . The shower has also started to rust even on the shower head. The bathroom also smell so pls keep your window open. The room we stayed in is Noisy as it’s on a popular street which would be okay if the blinds actually blocked out the street lights. The bed is ok, although the receptionist didn’t know what a sheet was when I requested a new one. The windows kind of function.

The mattress was not very comfortable. The floor boards flexed when you walked on them and got out of whack with the one next to it. The shower was very small. The WiFi was in and out, especially early in the morning.

We had a poor experience. Everything in the room is old, and either doesn't work or barely functions. The internet was spotty at best, and the front desk attendant really didn't care. Don't stay here if you have 3 people. They use the same tiny room for 2 people and stuff another bed into it making it impossible to walk.

Great little hotel in a good area. Everything is small including the bathroom but it worked for me. Staff was friendly and helpful. Only 5 min walk to Paddington station and shops, restaurants etc. I would go back again. Well worth the money.

Woke up in the morning with over 50 bed bug bites around my body. Was absolutely fuming as had to turn up to an important work meeting with arms covered top to bottom in bites. Then had to take an hour out of my day plus a £20 cost to go to the chemist to purchase tablets and creams for these as they were huge and I had a bad reaction to them. Horrible experience. Would absolutely not stay here again.

I enjoyed my stay at the Barry House a lot. Located just a few minutes from paddington made it easy to go anywhere in London. The price was great and was the perfect place to sleep before exploring the city. Please keep in mind that the stairs are no joke. I was happy to lug my bags up and down for the great price, but they are very steep and narrow. Consider this if you have disabilities that may make the stairs difficult. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Thank you for letting me stay and I hope to visit again in the future.

If you are a family or group --we were a family of 3 adults (2 petite females and 1 male) and two children-- with 2 x50 pound suitcases plus carry on bags --there are no elevators in the building. When we arrived the person at the desk was unfriendly and did not even offer to help. However the second receptionist who did several back to back shifts was friendlier and even kept our food in the fridge overnight in their staff fridge. There are NO fridges in the rooms or irons ( if you are attending meetings). beds were comfortable and bathrooms clean. housekeeping staff hardworking and much more friendlier. I would return if i did not have heavy luggage and did have any needs for professional activities.

We had an excellent stay at Barry House. The neighbourhood is perfect, with tons of dining and a tube station a block away. The property was well maintained and our room had everything we needed, including AC which we were pleasantly surprised with since our stay was in the middle of a heat wave. It would be nice if they did offer breakfast, though. However we would certainly stay here again.

You get exactly what you pay for. For an extreme budget hotel, it's really nice! The bed was actually really comfortable. New towels every day, I saw them cleaning multiple times. It was just about 5 minutes from Paddington Station. Even getting back at 12am, I never felt unsafe as a solo female traveler. Staff was nice. I arrived at 9am and they stored my luggage till check in.
Just a few things:
They said a 4th floor walk up - Americans just remember they don't count the first floor. My room was almost on the 6th. 70 stairs.
TV - Didn't have any channels
Shared shower - yes it was clean, I actually saw them cleaning it. But the photo they have about the shared shower is not the one on the top floor. The one on the top floor was a closet converted. You literally open the closet and there is the shower.
They say all of this, they don't lie about anything. Just wanted to clarify a few things.
It was a great place to stay, the 70 steps were a lot after each day.

Barry House was exactly what I needed when my train home was cancelled and I was stuck in London overnight. Although it’s certainly not luxury, it is affordable, convenient and comfortable. I slept well in the bed and have no complaints for a basic nights stay.

Honestly for the price we paid it was more than we would have bargained for. The room and bathroom was clean and while we were out, housekeeping was done to replace all the used items and to clean the room. We paid £60 a night for a double with private bathroom, got upgraded to larger quadruple room.

It wasn't an issue for me but it could get a little noisy from the street or other rooms. The room for the price was pretty good. Clean and small , the bathroom though was upstairs and the toilet was very very small and cramped as was the shower which bordered on claustrophobic.
The bedding was nice and clean. One tea bag and one sachet of coffee was pretty poor really.

A very good budget hotel, in a pleasant part of London. Friendly and helpful person at check-in, and a quiet room at the very top of the house - so wouldn't be suitable for elderly or disabled people. Room was quite cramped but perfectly adequate. Overall, excellent value.

Exactly what I needed for the price. Was in a single on the top floor with shared bathroom and shower. The room was impeccably clean, no issue with that at all. Kettle & television worked. 2 blocks from Paddington station. Will stay again if I ever just need the cheapest possible place to sleep in London for the night.

When we first arrived we were given a room right at the front. This was right next to the front door so we didn't get any sleep with the buzzer going off through the night and the door continuously being slammed...at 4.20 am this was still going on.
We asked to be moved and were given a room in the basement, it had a terrible damp smell and the condition was very poor .
On a good note the beds were comfortable even though the bedding was ripped.
