The staff was very friendly and helpful. The property itself is beautiful right on the lake. It’s absolutely beautiful. However, the rooms left a lot to be desired. The room was outdated. Didn’t have one hook in the bathroom to hang anything on no sink area or vanity for you to get ready in the bathroom. It had a weird sliding door that didn’t have an actual door knob or handle. It was like a piece of metal that ran odd and if you shut it all the way it would catch, and you would be locked in the bathroom. It literally took my friend to help me get out of the bathroom because the door would not open. I just feel that the rooms for the price we paid should’ve been a little more updated or renovated.

An overall good accommodation outside the city of Coeur D'Alene (just 12 mins far by car). If you like biking, you can ride to CdA without moving your car. The trail goes through Post Falls. There is plenty of parking at this hotel.

The staff were really helpful. Our key card wouldn't work at the outside door and they walked us to our room to make sure it would work there (and it did). We were there over the 4th and were a bit disappointed that the only breakfast option was the buffet but the view was great and the staff were really friendly. Our ac unit sounded like a washing machine but the room was clean. The lighting in the bathroom was kind of dim and the blackout shade doesn't quite cover the window so light comes in around the sides- when the room faces east, it's bright.
Other than guests not picking up their dog poop, it was clean.

Great hotel resort right on the river! Great for overnight travel, decent restaurant, small beach, fun bars, comfortable beds, and reasonably priced rooms that are perfectly a throw-back to the late 80s. Great for dogs! Excellent property for your dogs! We stay here every time we drive I-90!

The pictures online of this hotel appear to make it nicer than it was. It has a very dark, dingy, motel-feel to it. When we checked in, the front desk person was very kind and helpful, but he had very red, bloodshot eyes and appeared to be under the influence. (I do not know this for sure). He gave us our keycard and instructed us that we would enter the building through a separate door that could only be opened by using our key. After trying unsuccessfully to get into the building for several minutes, we finally walked back to the front desk for assistance. He shared that the door has been broken for a few weeks, and he would keep it propped open with a doorstop. This felt concerning, as it would then allow anyone to come in and out of the building. When we finally got in and walked through the building to our room, everything appeared very dark, run-down, and outdated. We were traveling with a toddler and did not feel like the atmosphere would be a positive and relaxing environment for our family, so we made the decision to leave after 20 minutes and drive back home (over 5 hours away). We travel frequently and have never experienced such a discrepancy in what we were expecting.

Hate to sound whiny, we don’t normally leave negative reviews but… Hotel is pretty run down. Pictures do not do it justice. We won’t stay here again, staff was great, food was good. Location is awesome. But, the paper thin walls/ceiling made for a rough time sleeping. Have you ever been to Reno? That’s what it feels like. I’m sure it was nice 30 years ago.

Older hotel, I can tell it use to be quite fancy, there are tennis courts that are now over grown and nolonger functional, and a nice little beach front area of grass and sand that are both covered in goose poop, but back when they were maintained they were probably pretty enjoyable. Huge grounds with lots of grassy areas for dog walking and sniffing, and no pet fee so that was nice. The rooms were clean, beds were comfortable, and the funtional areas of grounds were well kept. Also had nice, well maintained docks, and boating area. The restaurant is priced as if it were still a fancy hotel, and breakfast was not included. No coffee maker in the room and the coffee in the lobby was put away around noon. The shower was okay, but definitely not great, and the bedroom door was difficult to shut. It do look like many of the guests really enjoyed the bar, but we dont drink and being near it (especially on karaoke night) was loud and annoying. If you like quiet I would request a room that is not near the lobby or restaurant. I will say, we are use to staying in much nicer hotels, and it was definitely much nicer than a motel 6 or super 8. We stayed there out of necessity because it was hoopfest weekend and the hotels I would normally book were $200 more a night than usual. 😔

Rooms were clean, beds were comfortable, property was pretty well maintained, (The grass near the water and the beach area was covered in goose poop. Couldn't really walk there or enjoy the area near the water because of it). It was a good place to stay with our dogs... lots of space to walk and sniff (other than near the water). It is an older hotel, and a bit outdated. The door to our room was a bit difficult to close. I wish the free coffee was available all day (not just in the mornings), or they had one of those little coffee makers in the rooms so I could have made my own, and a free breakfast to go with it would have been really nice. The restaurant there was kinda expensive for a 3 star hotel... Also we were in a room near the front desk/lobby adjacent from the restaurant/bar and the music they played for karaoke night was so loud we had difficulty hearing our TV, so if you like quiet, request not to be near the lobby!

The stay overall was okay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The problem with the hotel I would say are the rooms. The rooms were clean and stocked when we arrived but, the beds are so uncomfortable. The beds were so firm. Along with the pillows, the pillows are so tiny and flat. It was really hard to sleep at on something so uncomfortable. I didn’t get a full nights rest due to that. Also, we never had anyone to restock the rooms with clean towel, clean sheets, toilet paper, or taking the trash out.

The amenities were great. There is a bar and restaurant inside the hotel. Didn’t go to the bar but did go to the restaurant. Again, the staff at the restaurant were friendly but it took a long time to get our order taken and for our order to come out. They were not busy whatsoever, there were 4 other families (of 2-4 people) that were there. The food was okay-ish. Some of the things were really good, but some of the other food my family and I got came cold or a little undercooked.

Overall, the hotel was ok. Just could use a few updates to the rooms.

Accommodations were clean and comfortable, but this is one of the most bland places I’ve ever stayed at; no photos, no artwork no in room coffee, no breakfast, no personality. It’s tired & could use updates and makeover. The entry into my building from the parking lot was open, anyone could enter the building.
On the plus side, it was a nice location, easy to find, brewery down the road and did have bands playing outdoors the 2 nights I was there.

I travel a lot and this hotel is probably my favorite we have stayed at. Isn’t updated or fancy but our room was very comfortable and clean. Shower was amazing. Friendly staff. Comfortable bed and pillows. Nice and quiet room with working air conditioning. Close to the highway and restaurants. Enjoyed walking down to the river at the sunset. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely return next time we are in this area.

We liked the lobby, pool and hot tub areas, the gym and the outdoor bar with seating area and the ability to walk the docks and around the water. Staff was so nice. There were paddle boards for rent. Coffee in the morning in the lobby was nice. We didn’t try the Dam Restaurant but it looked quaint and nice. We had fun making fun of the Dam name. 😂It must have been one heck of a resort back in the day and has had updating. To make it exceptional they should change out all of the doors to the rooms to modern ones as well as more lighting in the hallways. It’s got a little 1970’s vibe there. The rooms are not very big so perhaps renovating many of them to make them larger and offering those will help. The huge parking lot just needs redone with new asphalt and painted lines to create a better curb appeal. This is walking distance to small tap houses and breakfast spots with outdoor seating and right around the corner to a state park with water and beach but you have a private one at the hotel. Nice place. We will be back. 😁

This is my second stay here. I upgraded to river view. Room was clean but a bit dated. Beds were clean and comfortable.
The hot tub was up and running this time and good temp.
I chose this stay as it has a restaurant and bar with great views. But, in our 4day stay, neither was open for business. Kinda disappointed as we were going to have family come meet us there multiple times.
Overall nice place, but a little over priced for what is available.

In house restaurant closed most if open hours , closed early on sunday at 8:13 , head person in restaurant stated they closed warly due to lack of business, and that ge was having cocktail hour for his employees, hmmmm, hotel liability insurance? The lake view with balcony was a joke, the balcony held one person, max, and didn't feel secure in the least. The wait staff in the restaurant were exceptional. A great brewpub (Post Falls Brewing) is down the street- an easy walk from the hotel. As well other eating/drinking places - just a short walk away. Great place for a get-away!

These seemed to be confusion around our room and someone came in to our room at 12:45 AM! We checked in around 6 and got our keys, but they had the room listed as vacant. I’ve never had anything happen like this and was surprised that there wasn’t more of an effort to “make it right” just an “oh my goodness! I’m so sorry”. Maybe an offer to comp breakfast at least? The location is beautiful, but the building is aging and you can tell. For the price I think I will look somewhere else next time.

The Red Lion Inn is very well situated in Post Fall, ID, convenient to a full range of restaurants with short drives, and to access I 90 quickly. The staff were very friendly at the front desk. The facility adequately clean but with a very worn look and feel. The lobby and public areas felt cavernous and not very welcoming, the view of the river from first floor just barely enough to value (although better than parking lot!), indoor hot tub and pool unavailable, no coffee maker in the room, no breakfast offered, workout room clean and minimally equipped but functioning. Pet allowed (which is great) but not placed in a pet selected set of rooms separate from non-pet guests, so multiple dogs barking during two night stay. No chair on small patio outside room, one small table not well maintained only, which we had to repurpose into the room to have a side table to the chair in the room (not an outdoor useable chair.) So, yes, adequate, but not a repeat stay worthy location for the money. Thank you to the kind front dest staff upon check in.

My fiance and I stayed at this beautiful location while we were getting a night away from all of our responsibilities, getting some much needed privacy and alone time, and all that it would include. When I first walked into the room, I was a tiny bit thrown off by another door leading outside, but that's because I didn't read everything. I loved that if we wanted to we could go sit outside and enjoy the weather and I assume the view, but I didn't look at the view... I was way more excited about the jetted tub and king size bed!
First, the jetted tub! It's perfect for two, but if you want the jet on any spot in particular... like on your back while you lean back, then you might want to be the one picking your side first lol! My fiance went with the inside spot and he said that he had about 2.5 jets that worked, but after I let him have my spot, I thought that all the jets were fine. After we were done soaking for a while, we got out and dried off... I will say that in my opinion the towels could have been bigger and there could have been something to be able to step on cause I slid a little bit at first! We were trying to use as few towels as possible at first, but then we put a towel down so I wouldn't slide anymore.
Next, the best part! The bed! It was made beautifully! I hated to wreck it, but I was ready to get comfy and relax!!! There was nothing icky or wrong with the bedding! Plenty

Some lamp posts have 120v outlests where we can plug in our car. Quiet here and better option to spend the night before surgery in Spokane where staying downtown mught have been noisy with sirens near the hospitals.

Great location, just short trip east/west to explore. Coeur d’Alene or Spokane, plus catch the centennial trail.
Do not expect a lot from the room quality. It’s clean and they have same towels and amenities as other RedLion motels. But it is in need of serious room updates. We had 3 deadbolts on room door ( security lacking?) shower leaked everywhere in to bathroom. Zero vanity, missing closet door, old unfinished tp fixture (weird). Linens, pillows, mattress all good. Staff was nice. This was once was a top notch hotel. I sincerely hope they update it.

That's okay for a woman to sit on.
A man needs an oval lid, so both orifices aren't touching the seat.
I wouldn't recommend this place if you like to relax while doing your business

Lobby was up to date. Took about 15 mins to be noticed by staff to check in. There is a $75 deposit per room that we were not aware of plus fees to use pool and towels etc that we were aware of. Rooms were outdated. The heater in our room kept switching off and upon inspection the outlet it was plugged into was broken and in my opinion dangerous.the chain lock onnthe door was bent so it kept popping off. There was mildew in the bathrooms and what looked to be a bad paint job over top of it.our bathroom heat light switch was broken. The mirror closet in our 2nd room had a Crack in it so we were scared to move it. The internet did not work whatsoever in either room. Our room phone also did not work and it was a walk to the front desk. Day 2 our key cards wouldnt work to even enter the building let alone our rooms. Staff however did seem friendly. We did not visit the bar/restaurant due to the cost we spent overall on 2 rooms plus deposits. Pool was nice and warm hot tub was hot but again a pretty long walk from our rooms to get to it. (I am disabled) we were in building B and the pool was in the main building and bottom floor. Will update if we can once our deposit is returned
