Massive thank you to the man who allowed me to check in super early after my 5:45am flight, and for storing my luggage in your staff office when I went to the spa (you really are an angel). Exceptional breakfast (croissants, breads, jams, hams, cheeses, porridge/muesli, eggs, fruit and so much more).

Lovely spacious room. The bed lights were a little strange - came on sporadically but that was a little blip.

Hotel surroundings is quiet as it's about 15 min walk from Central Cologne station but as a woman, I didn't necessarily feel comfortable walking back to the hotel at night on my own. It was thankfully okay but most likely better in the summer months when it's not dark around 6pm.

Loved the 24/7 bar/shop where you can pay as you go for items. Thank you all, but especially to the young man on the morning shift of 14 Nov and 17 Nov.

Highlight - the spa, and only 4eu!!! Day made!

Parking was 24€ per day and breakfast was also roughly 24€ per person so even though the price for the stay was reasonable, the after costs were relative to a more expensive hotel, closer to the cathedral.

It was a nice hotel though and staff were really nice! We would stay closer to the Cathedral next time because there were more food options closer and walking back was a bit tiring after a long day out. Al

Great clean, modern hotel. It is a bit off the beaten path, but there's a train station a couple of blocks away that takes you to the Hauptbahnhof, so very convenient. One of the best hotel breakfasts I've had in a long time.

Brilliant Stay

This hotel saved our trip to Cologne. After an awful stay elsewhere the night before, we were able to get a late booking.

Our apartment was spacious and cool - in the oppressive heat outside - clean and well equipped with its own small kitchen area and a nice bathroom.

The breakfasts were amazing and the pool was nice to use as well, if a little on the cool side.

Location was fine for me (10 mins walk to U-Bahn Ebertsstrasse, where there is a street of places to eat, and a supermarket, 15-20 mins walk to Hbf/Dom. You can also walk to Zoo/Flora along the river.
Room was nice, one or two things went wrong (shower sealant, TV not working) which Reception got fixed. Most staff were very friendly and helpful, however, when I needed to get internet access (after my phone broke) to confirm my return flight (it was the day after the computer fallout, so I needed to do this urgently), they wouldn't help. Luckily the very helpful Koeln Tourist Office directed me to an Internet Cafe nearby.
Overall a good stay.

Hotel was within walking distance to most places. Room was spacious, bed was very comfortable. Room temperature was warm but cooled down with air conditioning and opening window. Window had no child lock and opened very wide quite dangerous from the 4th floor. Shower was very nice, hot water and complimentary toiletries. TV mainly all German channels. WiFi quite intermittent Only a coffee machine in room but was provided a kettle as my fiancé only drinks tea. Lift out of order but was offered a lower ground floor room which was nice of them. I managed to make it up the stairs finally!! Staff very attentive and the food was very nice in the restaurant. Would stay there again.

This property is too far away from bars and restaurants, especially in the winter when long walks in the rain are not pleasant. The bar closes at 11pm and no bar or restaurant on a Sunday. The staff are friendly but never told us of a rail strike as they book us a taxi to the train station! House keeping walked into our room and started routing in the wardrobe looking for the ‘do not service our room’ sign even thought I had opened the door ten minutes earlier and exchanged towels with another member of their team and said no housekeeping today please. She could see we were still in bed but didn’t care. She wanted that sign! On a positive, the beds were the most comfortable hotel beds we ever slept in, just don’t look at the duvets under the covers.

Peaceful location, 15 mins walk from station

Stayed 3 nights, easy check in but rooms not ready till 3pm, cam back for my bag a lot later on. No fridge, no safe and no wifi, without these I would only rate it a 3 star. Very comfy and very clean. 15 mins to the Dom or main station.
Quite peaceful location too and I definitely recommend it.

Air conditioning poor, took whole day to cool room down.
Male receptionist in mornings was very helpful and friendly, unfortunately same can't be said of the female receptionist we encountered in the evenings, uninterested and unfriendly.
Pool/gym needs to be better signposted and explained.
Paid €20 each for breakfast - not the best value for money but adequate.

I actually liked all the staff but I was a bit upset at check out when they tried to make me pay the city tax again. I’d already paid with a different person in cash on check in but this person seems not to have recorded the fact and I had no receipt. It was very embarrassing to have a row with the other receptionist with a large queue of people behind me. I stay in many different hotels in Germany, often in Köln. This is the first time this has happened and to be honest I was made to feel like I was lying. My 9 year old son was next to me and I really don’t need to be undermined in front of him. All staff, including the receptionist I was arguing were nice but I probably won’t stay there again, it’s put me off.

Great value for money property. Clean, in a nice neighbourhood and close to parks, dining options and walkable (20 mins) to the city center.

The family room was spacious enough for 2 adults and small kids. Parking available in the hotel for EUR20 per night our there is usually parking on the street for EUR 5 per day. The pool is big enough but could be a bit warmer and lesser chlorine.

Overall a very pleasant stay and recommended.

Well placed to get to the city. Restrictions on bar and restaurant due to covid which spoils the stay and makes making the most of the bar problematic. They dont do double beds, 2 singles pushed together with single duvets which for us isnt what we like at all.
Parking is not free and is expensive at 20 euro a night. If you can park out on the streets nearby, the area seemed secure and safe. Other than that nice clean and quiet hotel which is hard to criticise just let down for us with relatively simple things.
The staff were very helpful and even printed out our covid paperwork etc for.
Masks and proof of double vaccination or negative test is a must on arrival and around the city even to access some shops etc.

We had to call twice to request and iron, and it still didn't come in time to use it before our meeting. Had to go with a wrinkled shirt.

And not an eco-friendly thing in sight. They did have a shampoo dispenser in the shower, but also had little individual products - what a waste of plastic packaging. And everything else was disposable and single use. Not recommended from that point of view.

Twilight Zone with no room service

This hotel is rated as a four star. To keep the stars I thought room service had to be offered- not here.
A late return from a concert meant all city restaurants were closed
We tried to order a pizza from room service menu to be told room service is not available and that the menu was two years out of date. We found a request form to fix tbings in the room: this was dated 2017. All very Twilight Zone
Reception staff. Offered no explanation, no service only excuses: saying only one person waon n duty the night before. (In a four-star?)
Breakfast good. Morning staff the highlight; attentive, helpful and pleasant. Maybe they should take a turn on Reception.
Room clean, bed comfortable. No English T.V. Air- con didn't work but you can open the windows.
Good shower; gel / shampoo provided.

On a whole i wasn't impressed at all, first of all we were placed in the small sister hotel over road (away from the pool, when we had paid for what we though would had been the main hotel)

I requested we said in the main hotel in which we were forced to join their exclusive club in order to do so, when we finally did get into our room it had no heating or hot water, then we requested a room move in which they agreed......again no heating or hot water, apparently they were doing maintenance to we had to have freezing cold showers before going out to dinner.

When booking a double room for our anniversary trip we would expect a double room.... we received 2 single beds pushed together, 2 pillows which your head just sank through to the mattress, and 2 lightweight just quilt covers and when laying near the middle of the bed the 2 separate beds just parted.

The bar area is extremely nicely done, but is very overpriced. We didn't hold much hope for the hotel so we didn't even entertain the pool or spa facilities as we didn't want anymore disappointment.

I would travel to Cologne again most definitely as we plan a trip again next december but i will most definitely be using another hotel and I'm appreciative that i book a deal with expedia travel package rather than wasting money going direct and paying over the odds for a shoddy hotel.

I travel around europe 6-7 times a year following my football team and short breaks and this is one of the worst rooms I've had

We stayed for 4 nights.
The appearance, it's a clean, well presented hotel on the inside let down by a tired exterior and weird entrance that is hidden. The room was spacious with good quality bed and bedding but beyond that it's a bit spartan. Although they give you a coffee machine it's a pod affair and they only give you a couple of pods for your whole stay forcing you to buy more. Also it's just as well I drink decaf as there was only one normal coffee pod provided. The standard soap was provided as was the hair / body wash which was fine.

Staff, The cleaning staff were helpful and friendly when we briefly saw them however the reception staff were disinterested, they seemed more bothered about the older couple than us, possibly as we were casually dressed coming off a flight, on check out they were similarly disinterested. Still, they were not rude so that's a bonus over some hotels I've been too. The bar staff were friendly and chatty which was nice and probably the highlight of the hotel.

Facilities, there is a small pool which we looked at but did not end up using as we were out most of the time, this was included in the room price which was nice. There is also a basic gym also included.

Location, probably the weakest point if you are a tourist, there are many closer hotels too the centre, if you need to cross over the river at any point don't stay here too as it's a pain. For businesses however it might be a great bet.

Reasonable alternative when you pay for your stay

Being spoiled by Sofitel worldwide (business trips), booked this one as the same loyalty scheme. Braced myself for a 4*s experience. When arrived, showed my Platinum Card and was upgraded immediately even without asking. Nice roomy suite (by German standards, that is). Two beds formed a queen bed, coffee maker, basic bathroom. Very clean, and despite the building being somewhat old (80s style), inside the room it feels new and above average for a similar class hotel in Northern Europe. Downstairs, nice swimming pool, sauna, and so on. Breakfast didn't try, as on expensive side (€19). Room Service is OK, the menu is basic, food... not a big fan of the regional dishes, so no surprises here as well. Staff are seriously good, very friendly, resolved my little issues promptly and went that extra mile. Would stay again if in the area and paying from my pocket.

Nice room and easy access to airport

The hotel room was lovely and clean, we stayed in the unmanned building across the road from reception. we took the train from the airport to köln central station and then a taxi to the hotel. Staff were amazing upon arrival as it was 11pm they showed us where we could get something to eat and gave us some maps. The day before our departure we asked reception if there was somewhere we could leave our luggage due to having an evening flight home and they told us it was possible. However come the next day they told us reception was closing and therefore could not leave our luggage anymore which was a slight inconvenience as we couldn't see the last few sights we would have liked to with three suitcases, this was the only bad thing about the trip.

Not the easiest of hotels to find with SatNav and Cologne streets but check-in was quick and efficient. We were upgraded immediately to the main block rather than the seperate block on the other side of the road. Ideal for a stopover and would use the hotel again if we were staying longer. Within easy walking distance of many of the attractions and close to the river for cruises and tours.

My wife and I stayed two nights here. The room was very comfortable. The neighborhood is nice and quiet and the hotel is only 15-20 minutes walk north of the train station. There is an excellent pool and fitness center at the hotel. The only downside is the hotel is split over two buildings so you may not be staying in the building with the pool. This made accessing the pool during the winter a little unpleasant, but its not a big deal

Decent Enough Hotel in good(ish) location

Checkin was laborious - room was cold and not huge but pleasant enough. The main bug bear was the 2 single beds pushed together - and to make it even worse, they had 2 single duvets - arrrgh!!!.
Surely they must know, that 2 people in a room together sharing a bed, are going to be intimately involved and will want to get under 1 duvet.

The curtain did not also close fully, leaving a gap of about 2 inches - not very much I know but as we were at the front of the hotel, the light from the hotel sign above the entrance became like a fluorescent strip light in the corner of the room. Basically it never got dark even with the curtains fully closed.

Breakfast was fantastic, really huge choice.

Swimming pool is not the most decorious but great for some serious lengths. Sadly for me there was no steam room just a small sauna - I hate saunas.

All in all for a business trip the hotel was more than adequate, but my partner flew in from London to meet me and the single beds pushed together was a constant niggle

The best thing was a local Sicillian restaurant just a (perfectly) short walk from the hotel - called Zippiri - best meal I've eaten in Cologne and truly entertaining/friendly staff.

Excellent hotel with minor flaws

I stayed at this hotel for two nights recently on the fifth floor. It's an excellent choice, pretty much in the city center. Tons of Christmas markets nearby that are within walking distance. Overall rating is four stars at best. The size of the room (single queen size bed) was impressive compared to other hotels in Europe. Even by American standards, the room was pretty big.
Cons:
1. One of the light switches near the bed fell off
2. The wifi is extremely slow. Some areas of the room were dead zones. Can't imagine paying for their advertised \"faster\" wifi.
3. The bed was advertised as a queen sized bed but in fact were two twin sized beds put together. Even the sheets were for twin sized beds. Luckily my girlfriend and I don't really take much bed space together ;)

Pros:
1. Location is excellent. It's close to everything.
2. Very spacious hotel room.
3. Although it's in the city center, the area is rather quiet.
4. The view from the room was amazing. Seriously...the wall facing the street was nearly all window.
5. The breakfast may seem a little expensive but it's well worth it.
6. Last but not least, the staff. Very friendly, courteous, helpful, and beautiful. Service with a smile.

Staff were helpful overall with the exception of car parking. We obviously arrived at a very busy time with groups leaving and a wedding party. We were given very little help with or where to park or if we could park somewhere else and come in later: which we did. Also unclear whether or not there was a cost for it.

A general criticism which never ceases to amaze me is why one easy chair? (booked a room for 2) and one chair for sitting at table. Everybody who will bring a laptop will be able to use it on their lap!! but sittting watching the tv on a \"formal\" chair is not comfortable. Everywhere does this and everywhere gets itt wrong!!!

Good Hotel near my company's headquarters

Good hotel if you're lucky to be put in the main building. There is an annex across the road but the rooms there are tiny and only small beds. Hotel offers a gym and swimming pool.
Breakfast price is outrageous at 16€. There should be a simpler breakfast priced lower.

Pros and cons.

The hotels comprises 2 buildings, with standard rooms located on an annexing building.

Had to pay extra on check in to be kept in main building (this should be correctly advertised).

Pool was nice, clean and good depth.

Gym is a \"Mini gym\" I would call it a micro gym.
Sauna facility decent with showering and lounge chairs, down side is you have to walk through the gym to get from/to sauna and pool, dripping water on gym floor, this needs looking at from the health and safety risk assessment point of view, wet \"Gym\" floor can be a serious issue.

Very disappointing for a 4 stars hotel

Hotel had minimum staff after 8pm. The Air Conditioning was broken in our room. We let reception know the first day and nothing was done we had to let them know again the next day and still no help. Not very helpful. The room was not cleaned after our first night. The tea cups were not changed we were left with dirty dishes. Staff not very friendly.

Perfect for a city break.

Of the 6 places we stayed during our holiday, this is undoubtedly the most perfect. The welcome staff very friendly, helpful and most courteous. The room clean and spacious and relaxing with comfortable chairs and beds.
I would recommend the hotel to anyone.

Pleasant Stay and friendly staff

i stayed two nights and overall liked it
the location was fine and the room was good.
What i didn't like is that when booking a room on Expedia wasn't enough to be in main building but on another building near by and I was forced to pay extra in order to be in main building.. The only reason i knew about the possibility is because i read the bad reviews online... I think there should be clarification of what room in what building you are booking... The other thing is that the AC in the room isn't strong enough and have to be replaced. Even maintenance told me its just old and best that it can do. Unfortunately its not enough

2 night stay for Gamescom 2015

Stayed in the main building and I understand that this is the one with refurbished rooms.

English-speaking staff were very pleasant and helpful, booking me taxis to Gamescom and local restaurants multiple times.

My 4th floor room was clean and had modern fittings and gadgets. Coffee-pod type machine, fridge with mini bar, a few snacks, flatscreen TV, nice bath/shower-room.
It was a hot few days and the air-con worked flawlessly, keeping me cool and comfortable in my sleep.

Breakfast was very very good - a wide selection of continental foods, cooked breakfast (sausage, eggs, mushrooms, bacon, etc). They even had a waffle iron.
Bar was good but you cannot drink outside too late due to the hotel being in a residential area, you can however move indoors and continue to drink.

I did not use the pool/sauna facilities so cannot comment on these.

Overall, I was very impressed with this hotel and I would stay again.

The hotel room is definitely good: clean, very comfortable bed, etc. However, it is overpriced specially when they only let you check in at 3:00pm. I'm Accor gold member and bought ibis business card but apparently it does not matter at all.
The neighborhood is nice but a bit far from city center, however , metro station is within 5 min walk
The main problem for me was the check in time, too late!!!

We booked this hotel when my parents came to stay. On arrival we were told that they were not staying in the main hotel but a building down the road!
The room was clean but there were no tea or coffee making facilities which was not ideal after a day exploring the city.

Thought I had booked into hotel actually put me up in apartment block across the street no tea or coffee facilities, room clean and comfortable customer service poor as told your staying in large brown building across the street and dismissed expect a little more at £168 per night !!

Can't recommend this hotel

They do not offer free wi-fi! They consider free wi-fi 30 minutes free in the lobby on their computer. Any other Internet service you will have to pay for. When we booked the hotel our confirmation email showed we would have have free wi-fi in our room. When this was brought to the manager's attention she just said no and walked away. Our room was nice but that was it. We would not recommend this hotel.

The Park Inn was a good hotel to stay in while in Koln for work. The breakfast was good, room was comfortable and the internet connection worked well. The location was good as well, in a quieter part of town just outside the central areas but less than 2 mins walk to the underground and only 2-3 stops to the centre of town. perfect.

Pleasant Stay, Quiet

This hotel is about a 25 minute walk from the train station. It was wonderful to be in a quiet neighborhood. We did not get the breakfast offered by the hotel. We walked about 5 minutes to local bakeries. We were surrounded by children riding scooters to school as their parent's ran behind them. I enjoyed seeing the morning routine of the locals. The Dom (the cathedral) was two stops on the subway or a nice walk along the Rhine.

Hotel close to main attractions.

The hotel itself looked nice. The pool was large and clean. It is well situated to access Cologne city centre. However, we did not have a room in the main hotel, but in a building close by. The room was clean and comfortable but unfortunately the air conditioning was not working. We moved to another room but the air conditioning barely worked there either. It seems it didn't work at all in this building which was a problem as it was 30 degrees when we visited.
