More comfortable beds. Place was great clean, nice neighborhood quiet. Wonderful area love all the convenience of the place in PA . But definitely needs comfortable mattresses. Loved the host.

When booking this stay I did not know it was an apartment and asked for a refund because l was traveling solo and did not want to book an air bnb. The owner denied me of my refund stating it says it in the booking, but it did not state this info. Also they did not provide any face towels. I was told they lived next door. For sanitary reasons and since they live close I did not think getting a face towel would be an issue and was told they aren't a hotel (which I thought l had booked). They advertise the pool in the photos, but you do not have access to it staying in room number one. The walls are very thin and l could hear all the noise from the neighbors and could not sleep. I left after the first night because of the noise. I went on vacation for peace and quiet, but this was not the right place for that. The place was clean. The location is good. From past reviews the owners will have a rebuttal, but this is my honest opinion. This was not the stay I was looking for.

Sonia and Alberto are wonderful hosts. Very welcoming, very helpful calling taxis and shuttles, providing recommendations, etc. Breakfast was excellent and it was fun visiting with guests from around the world.

Very Nice Staff and very peaceful place.

Tbe best value for money to meet de Riviera Maya and not be tied to an all inclusive . It is best to rent a car to have the freedom to know every corner of tbe Riviera Maya . The \"XPUHA\" Beach is very close to Puerto Aventuras , for me the best in tbe zone.. Sonia and Alberto , the owners from Italy , are very helpful and give you all the Information to know the área.

Nice b&b run by lovely couple

Nice, homey alternative to the big resorts. Very good location and very close to the restaurants in the area. Breakfast was simple toast and eggs.

We didn't read our booking closely enough and didn't realize there was a shared bathroom, but we are not picky and it was fine and quite clean. Only very minor complaint would be there were only 1 pair of towels provided (and no hand towels) and no bath mat to dry off your feet outside the shower.

Pleasant and peaceful B&B

Jolee and I stayed here 6 nights for an amazing great price. I will be coming back and with friends next time. You are walking distance from all the restaurants, beaches, and dolphins. If you purchase any of the Xcarat (i would also highly recommend) packages, you will have to walk to the dreams resort which is about a 5 minute walk.

The owners of this B&B are great individuals and very helpful and knowledgable about the area. We were having issues getting our taxi on the way back to the airport and Sonia spent her time talking with the taxi staff. Thanks again.

We enjoyed the location. The B&B was a little disappointing. The outside areas were not maintained. The pool was cloudy and appeared dirty. The lounge chairs were dirty cracked and unusable. There was no grass in the backyard around the pool, as it appeared in the picture, just dirt and brown grass. screens were in need of repair.
Not a good value, since now they are renting the room for half of what we paid.

Comfortable room in a nice house

This is a small B&B in the gated community of Puerto Aventuras. It is a very quiet and safe tourist area with many upscale restaurants and amenities.

Our room was spacious and clean with a huge bed (we stayed in the standard cenote king). The shared bathroom was never a problem with our neighbors. The decor is modern and comfortable.

Breakfast is very simple: toast/croissants, eggs, juice, coffee.

The location was quite difficult for our taxi driver to find, because it looks like a normal house from the outside and the street numbers and signs are small. It would be helpful to have a photo of the exterior prior to arrival.

It is worth it to arrange the airport transport for $65, especially if you have more than one traveler in your party.

Great place, great people in Central Location

I stayed there for 6 days in January 2015. Wonderful place in a very central Area south of Playa del Carmen. Alberto and Sonia are very friendly and helped me unravel the collectivo system and book a trip. They are a wealth of information. The room is kept very clean and it has all the things you would need. It is a great place to explore the Mayan Riviera from. The shared bathroom was never a problem and the bed was comfortable.

Puerto Aventuras was different than I expected. It is sort of a gated enclave for Hotels, time shares and private Homes for Westerners. Their are restaurants, Marinas a golf course, dolphin swim place and an OXO convenience store all within walking distance.

Safe and friendly and quiet

Antonio made us feel at home. This is their first bed-and-breakfast experience. The location is across from the marina and a two minute walk to practically anything in this community. Breakfast included toast, croissants, cake cereal and Fridays if you wish. The coffee was horrible but I am fussy. Lol. The pillows definitely upgrading. It was rather hard, but I find that a lot in Mexico. We had a private deck which was fairly large, Located on the second floor. Catalonia hotel resort down the way let us go to their own inclusive from 11 AM to 6 PM for $45 per person which we thought was pretty good. Taxis are quite expensive $30 into Playa del Carmen each way. You can walk outside the gate and catch a bus into town for two dollars US which we didn't know about at first so I don't know the stops. The taxi from Cancun was $82 US

This B&B was a great. Located right in the middle of the gated community, it provided close access to multiple beaches, restaurants, activities etc. Things are keep simple here and breakfast was always there when you needed it. A great deal not to be passed up.

Beautiful house very homely! Gorgeous room, lots of storage and comfy bed. Couldn't wait to explore the resort where Picalu was based. Only 5 minutes walk to the beach which was absolutely stunning. At lunch we used the convenience store oxox and at night time we tasted lovely food served in the restaurants. At Piculu our room and shared bathroom was cleaned every day. Breakfast was served every day and we enjoyed that it wasn't a fixed time although we never had it later than 930! We enjoyed sitting down to breakfast with other guests around the dining table. Alberto was very attentive and was able to provide us with any information if we required it. We also booked a tour to Chitchen Itza which was reasonably priced! Picalu really was the perfect base to explore Mexico, we had the option of staying inside the complex or exploring other parts of Mexico using Public Transport ( the bus and collectivo stop was directly outside the complex)

Great Location

Spent 2 nights at this lovely B&B managed by Alberto & Sonia. Location is fantastic. Owners very friendly and careful to details. Puerto Aventuras is a great spot for visiting the surroundings (Tulum, Coba', Riviera Maya, Cenotes ect..). I definitely reccomend it!

Cosy central Bed and Breakfast

Super location, ideal for taking in the harbour athmosphere for our family of three over 5 nights stay. An Italian couple is running the place with Alberto taking care of us, willingly sharing local knowledge and giving advice. He can book all sorts of activities or arrange car hires. For self made trips it is a good idea to simply walk up the 20 min to main roads and take the many affordable collectivos running up and down the cost. Akumal, Tullum and perhaps Coba is a must. Nice garden with small pool to coole down. Beaches 10 min by foot. Restaurants around the harbour a bit pricy, try Lattitude 20, to the left when you exit the B and B, very nice and good value.

Nice B & B great location

The location and price was perfect for me. The room was large clean and private. I have not shared a bathroom since Europe but it was very clean with no problems. The owner was friendly and went out of his way to be helpful. The breakfast was the best I had all week in Mexico. If you do not mind not being on the beach this room is for you. Everything is in walking distance.

Our family really enjoyed the hospitality provided by Alberto and Sonia. They were friendly and knowledgable about the area. The house was clean and comfortable. We used their home as a base while we explored the coast line and found it to be an excellent location. The shared bathroom was not too bad - and the price was right!

Villas Picalu B&B is a nice place with clean, spacious bedrooms and large balconies. The English speaking staff is informed and cheerful. The grounds are well kept. There are numerous restaurants nearby.
This is a gated community so do not expect it to feel \"Mexican\". It is a gringo enclave with gringo prices.
Breakfasts were the weak link in this otherwise good value. They were composed of bread, butter, jam, bland scrambled eggs (no seasoning), very weak coffee and watered down juice. Unless they improve, you may want to eat out for breakfast.
Alberto, our host, was very helpful and provided accurate information.

Puerto Aventuras affordable, B and B

Puerto Aventuras, Mexico B and B

A centrally located b anc b in Puerto Aventuras, Mexico, the Villa Picalu is clean, easy to get into and out of, and has two very pleasant owners/operaters.

The accomodaions were not what one would find in the Omni, but my bedroom was clean, air-conditioned and had a shared bath.

the hosts were very willing to help with any informaton about the area and/or arrange things, like taxis, or other transportation to other parts of the area.

My only regret was that the pool did not appear, to me, like something I wanted to chance going into....but the couple/owmers looked as if they were trying to fix that.

Enjoyed my stay.....

Excellent hosts. excellent location for morning and evening walks to see the community and attractions just 2 minutes from the front door. The breakfast is great with local ingredients and a view of the widlife through the dining room door over looking the backyard and golfcourse adding for a relaxing yet entertaining experience. The cenote room which i stayed in was exceptionally clean. Only issue if i can call it one is that for room comfort,...i found the bed a little firmer than i'm use to. Again it's my opinion/prefference. The rate I paid for the room($65 per night) is extremely affordable given the local competition(Omni, Dreams, Cantalonia) in the gated area of Puerto Aventuras. I would happily use Villa picalu without a doubt for future stays in the Riviera Maya.

good location , a car would have helped

Puerto Adventuras has only one real beach access. Not easy to get to No access to a bathroom. But once there it had some of the best snorkeling we did on the coast.. The villa itself was great, easy access to a lovely marina walkway. The breakfast was fabulous. The restarants in the area where a bit to expensive for us, They are all priced the same. I would go back to the villa/ B&B, but will not go back to Puerto Adventuras.

Great B and B experience.

...after having spent a week in our favorite place which is Xcalak at the southern tip of
the Costa Maya, my wife and I stayed three nights at Villas Picalu in Puerto Aventuras.
We could not have chosen any better; the most gracious hosts Roberto and Alejandrina,
the beautiful room, the superb breakfast each morning and the cooperating weather
added up to a wonderful experience.
We will do this again!

Right across from the dolphins- the location is great. Very comfy bed! The owners are very nice and accommodating. Great free breakfast- fruit eggs juices breads cereals... Check out the unique wild animals in the backyard early in the morning! :)

Villa Picalu B&B Puerto Aventuras, mayan riviera

Excellent location within steps of Marina, Restaurants and Aquariums. Home away from home feeling you get a bedroom in a beautiful villa and are hosted by a wonderful couple who make you feel welcome and relaxed. Excellent value for your money. It is a short 10 minute walk to a beach with great snorkelling and after the sun goes down you have your choice of many different reataurannts or just sitting with a drink to listen to live music. Everything is in easy walking distance and you can watch the dolphins, manatee, seals perform or chat with the fisherman as they clean their catch at the end of the day or you can wander back to the house and sit in a Beautiful back yard watching the iguanas or cotys that regularily wander in looking for a treat. There are 2 swimming pools to cool off in and a big cenote in the back yard that overlooks the golfcourse. I stayed a week and was never bored. The only thing people need to be aware of is that the bedrooms are upstairs , there is no elevator so you need to be able to climb about 12 stairs. It really is like having your own house in Paradise.

Home away from home

We intended to stay in Playa del Carmen but wanted one night closer to Tulum for activities like Tulum Ruins, Coba and the cenotes. We ended up staying the rest of our trip with Roberto and Alexandria. Their nice villa is nestled behind the golf course across from the Dolphinarius and Yacht club, near Dreams resort but without the extra dinero it would take to stay in those places. We walked to the highway in less than 10 minutes to catch collectivos or cambios for cheap rides to nearby activities. It was nice to leave our belongings safe and come \"home\" to get away from the noise, hustle and bustle. We checked out other options while down there and feel that we will likely stay again with Roberto when we go back to the Riviera Maya area with our children.

wir waren mehrere Tage dort. Die Zimmer sind Zweckmäßig. Uns hat ein Tisch u. Stühle gefehlt. Heisses Wasser war nicht genug vorhanden. Denke die 4 anderen Zimmer hängen auch alle an einem kleinen Heisswassertank und dann ist er irgendwann leer. Strandhandtücher fehlten auch bei Nachfrage. Puerto Venturas ist sehr sehenswert und hat viele kleine nette Restaurant. wir empfehlen das B & B
