We loved the different amenities for the different ages. The staff was so kind, and especially Maria at the Family selection pool. Having a “butler” was very convenient for booking reservations and knowing what was going on as there was a lot of us with a range of kids in different age groups. Definitely one of our favorite places and resorts in Mexico to date.

This resort was fantastic from the moment we arrived, until we left. Our butler was extremely attentive and went out of his way to leave surprises for our girls all week. Our room was amazing, pools and property had tons to offer, food was great! I would have loved to see better coffee shops/menus and options for this - the only real coffee shop was located at White Sands, and staying at Kantenah was quite the hike. The entertainment was also 10/10, we attended every evening.
We booked our airport transfer with Canada Transfers and flew in and out of Tulum airport, which I’d highly recommend over Cancun airport. We’ve never returned to a resort in our previous travel, however my husband and I both agreed we would return to this one in a heart beat!

Tip : research the resort and the amenities ahead of time - as this is three resorts together (Kantenah, Colonial & Whitesands) there’s a lot to see - we didn’t find the Family Selection beach and pool until day 4 of our stay and which we had found it sooner. Also; would recommend a swim out if travelling with kids!

Also, there’s a definite jungle vibe, and lots of animals/lizards around all the time ! ( monkeys, coatis, mini capybaras)

Great property with lots to explore. Multitude of restaurant and dining options across the various parts of the resort - buffets were a little hit or miss but some of the restaurants have some really nice dishes. We booked a Family Selection option and found the check in / check out process quite cumbersome as typically had one person dealing with a queue of families checking in or out. Quick communication with the butler service isn't WhatsApp was a handy option as allowed for quick access to room service and shuttles for moving around the expansive property. We travelled in April so beaches had a lot of seaweed and while the property cleared occasionally it's definitely a factor to consider if you're looking for ocean swimming / beachfront dining (the smell!!)

The big pool seats were abundant, and great snack bar and drinks. :) The one thing i suggest could help is clean up the leaves or debris out of the pool.

We stayed at this incredible resort for the first time with my family for 5 days. When booking thru Expedia we had VIP access which allowed us to visit the other connecting resorts including family selection and their many delicious restaurants, we tried to do most of them-did not disappoint. Our fav one was el dorado. From the reviews we saw it is advisable to reserve your dinner selection early and we did ours from the 1st night, the concierge was able to connect with us throughout our stay via WhatsApp which was really convenient. Our room was well kept and had special little treats for us which was a nice touch. You must stay at this resort, so much to do with your kids and enjoy-i suggest downloading the app for the schedule of whats happening around the resort so you don’t miss out. The resort has many surprises of animals on the property from spider monkeys, capybaras, iguanas, coatis and flamingos so FUN to see! There is also a night market one night we enjoyed having meeting local vendors. Thank you to the team at this resort for making our stay a memorable one!

Our family stayed at the Family Selection area. I would recommend this for any family staying at the resort. Our family butler was attentive to our needs and friendly. They sent us a daily updates of activities happening around the resort. The Family Selection restaurant, The Nest, was great as well. Service was amazing! Gosh, I could eat up all the crapes! The family selection pool and beach were fantastic! The staff were kind, thoughtful and attentive. I would definitely recommend a stay here!

Poolside was enjoyable. Some days very difficult to get a chairs had to get up early to get in a shaded area. The beach was terrible so much seaweed, not there fault as it’s the time of year but could have been cleaning it up along the whole beach, not just a section. It was also very smelly. Pools were very clean. The service was terrible at the beginning after mentioning it to staff things changed and was very happy with the service. Rooms were clean but had ants everywhere had to have them come spray which helped a little bit but came back very quickly.

Our stay was excellent! We opted for a Family Select swim out room and it was totally worth the upgrades. Our son woke up every morning and swam first thing while we ordered room service for breakfast. The beach was not crowded at all and the staff was so accommodating and welcoming. This property was relatively nice, especially the family selection option. With family selection we had access to private check-in, her own private pool area with in my opinion the best food and service in the entire resort, and our own private beach area with access to the adults only beach, which had an incredible lunch buffet. Cantina was definitely in our opinion the nicest of the grand Palladium resorts. What was lacking was creativity with drinks, and their version of premium alcohol was not the same is not the same version of our idea of premium alcohol. Wednesday staying at family selection you have a butler, which was very nice. They took care of all of our dinner reservations made sure that we had a stocked mini fridge and even made the sweetest balloon animal bubble bath for our son. We stayed in villa 48 which had great access to both the beach the pool and the lobby. Keep your eyes peeled for the wildlife! If you take a walk in the morning you might get lucky enough to see the spider monkeys hanging out near the Cantina lobby. You will find Koti’s and capybara‘s just hanging out all over the property, which is very cool!

Holiday stay at family select level with swim out and then moved to beachfront swim out. Enjoyed both rooms. The rooms were spacious and provided many amenities l’occitane toiletries, clothing steamer, hair dryer. There were ample areas for seating at the beach and pool area. Kiyoshi and Luis were out butlers and were very accommodating- we very much enjoyed them and found this service helpful. There were many covered walkways and signs to help with directions to each area. Reservations were accommodated with butler assistance but still hard to come by and we were not able to access the restaurants we wanted for our stay. The buffets are all the same food and overall found the food to be mediocre along with drink quality even with premium beverage level. With older kids there were not activities during the day but younger kids are very catered to. We did enjoy the wildlife around the resort daily and the pizza stop which has amazing pizza. All pizza is not created equally room service pizza and the other private areas had a pizza that was not great. It’s unfortunate that the pizza offered at white sands is not extended through all areas. Overall the resorts is beautiful with amenities and for families with smaller children is great.

We booked because las year we stayed at the Playa Mujeres property, and it didn’t live up to that.

My wife, kids, and I just got back from a weeks saty at Kantenah Family Selection. This was our first time at this resort. Our expectations were far exceeded. The property is beaautiful and so well kept up. The staff is always working hard to keep this place beautiful. I would have to say the best part of our trip was the excellent service. The staff was so kind and accomodating. They really go out of thier way to make your stay memorable. We plan to come back as soon as we can.

It was a very big surprise we didn’t expected this Hotel to be so beautiful we have been traveling to Mexico for over 20 years now and our favorite chain of hotels was Iberostar and Riu but this Hotel is way nicer and the food is way better then the other places Another surprise was that we got a free up grade from Expedia to the Family Section and is definitely worth the up grade Thank You Expedia and Thank You Grand Palladium we will be coming back 100%

Had an incredible time at Grand Palladium. Highly recommend getting the Family Selection package as the Nest restaurant, the special beach, and the separate pool were our favourite places to hang out. Food everywhere was excellent but La Adelita was our favourite dinner.

Only downside for the property was most of the main pool at Kantenah was very deep! At 5’8” I could barely touch on my tippy toes.

Great restaurants with delicious food and with big variety. We loved our stay in this resort.
The only thing that we consider was lacking was maybe more pool activities by the entertainment staff like games and competitions. Also an actual Teen club would have been nice as our 14 year old daughter didn’t have much for options if it wasn’t for soccer, volleyball etc in the athletic area.

Second stay at this resort. First time was in 2013 and second time was in 2026.
The property is unique because of its size and dedication to preserving the natural habitat that it is built on. There is never more than a 5 min wait for trolley car to take you wherever you want to go.
À la carte’s are hit and miss. The buffet is a real good backup.
No one in our party got sick.
I do have a knock against the colonial pool as it is imo too deep. I’m 5’10” and I had to tippie toe through the pool. When I grab a drink, I want to be able to walk with it. White sands’ pool was at a decent height though.
My other knock is the family selections upgrade. It wasn’t for us personally. The best value came from the 24 hr concierge which was amazing and went out her way to make sure our vacation was comfortable and our requests were always looked after. Outside of that, we didn’t find value in the upgrade. Keep in mind my kids are teenagers.
All-in-all, the staff were so kind and polite and they really care about your experience. I would recommend this resort to families, especially ones that are visiting Mexico for the first time.

We had the best time of our lives because of the exquisite care from Ali Velazquez concierge. The beauty of the property, the quality of the food, the fabulous pools, beaches, walking paths, flamingos and serene atmosphere, made it a trip we will always cherish. Ali's care for us during our stay was full of kindness and generosity. My daughter's new goal is to become a lifetime member and this is in large part due to Ali who creates a quality connection to all guests lucky enough to have her as their concierge.

Pros: The resort overall was beautiful and the room was great - very comfortable, updated and clean. We really enjoyed the swim up room. The beach was beautiful and spacious though we weren’t able to snorkel because the water was either red (sargassum) or murky due to the wind. The food was decent and there were so many choices, though everyday the menu was exactly the same. The pools were great - colonial was busier than white sands so if you wanted chairs at colonial you needed to get them by 8am or so. I loved how spacious the resort was, and enjoyed having to walk to get around.
Cons: my son got gastroenteritis and was aggressively vomiting so I had to call the in-house physician. The rest of us had typical GI discomfort that was manageable. The music room equipment (guitars, piano, drums) in the Junior Club was all broken, which was a shame - if it can’t be maintained, there’s no point in having it. Don’t even think about relying on the golf carts if you need to be somewhere on time - even though I requested one well in advance at check out, it never came, so we had to drag our bags across the resort to make it to our airport transfer on time.
Overall, it was a nice resort, but we won’t be returning.

We recently stayed at the Grand Palladium Kantenah Resort & Spa as a family of four with our 8 and 10 year old, and overall it was an excellent experience.

We booked the Family Selection and stayed in a swim-out suite in Villa 50, which turned out to be the perfect location. We were just steps from the FS beach, the FS El Rinconcito pool, and close to the Colonial pool and breakfast options—everything felt convenient without being crowded.

The Family Selection upgrade was absolutely worth it. Having access to all restaurants across the four-resort complex gave us lots of variety, and the butler service made a big difference when it came to booking à la cartes and organizing activities. It really simplified the experience.

The resort grounds are beautiful and well maintained, and one of the unexpected highlights for our kids was the wildlife—they loved spotting animals as we walked around. The water park was also a big hit and kept them entertained for hours.

Food was excellent overall, with plenty of choice across buffets and à la carte restaurants. One standout evening was the \"Tacos & Tequila\" night followed by a Mexican-themed show, which was a highlight of the trip—great atmosphere, food, and entertainment.

Service throughout the resort was consistently good. Staff were friendly, helpful, and attentive. Overall, this resort is a fantastic choice for families, especially with the FS upgrade. Great food, excellent service, beautiful surroundings.

Food was mediocre, had stomach pain and diarrhea every day. Had to take a taxi to town to eat dinner each night. The “restaurants with reservations” are not included in the ALL-INCLUSIVE.
No one explained to me what “family select” meant to our experience and stay. So we missed out on the amenities, private beach experience etc.
A food manager barked at me for not checking in with the hostess before joining the open buffet(1st day). Was embarrassed and disrespected. He wasn’t helpful, he was condemning. To make these things right, they try to give me a beach cabana but don’t tell me where or what it is, try to give me a free restaurant meal, scheduling me at 9:30 at night! I really felt screwed on my experience. If I had been explained to what Family Select was I would have had such a better experience and if they had offered me an additional 4 nights for a future stay I wouldn’t write this review and would feel honored.
They don’t understand how to make a bad experience better. Dinner or a cabana doesn’t replace being accosted by an employee over a plate of buffet food and not being explained what amenities we were able to have and realizing on the last night bc another guest told us. Money wasted. Very disappointed, could easily have been a rectified experience that would bring them positive review. No place is perfect but it’s how you handle an issue that matters.

The whole property was beautiful. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and a good size. It also had a garden view and it was very peaceful.
We were very lucky to have had Ali Velazquez as our concierge. She made our experience wonderful and took care of all our needs. She was very professional, friendly, pleasant and it was very easy to communicate with her. From booking à la carte restaurants for every single night to answering basic questions we had. Ali went above and beyond making the whole experience unforgettable!
There’s so much to do and see. The property is huge and there’s so many options to eat and try different cuisines. It’s very easy to get around either taking the little carts or just walking around.
The spa was amazing and we spent a couple of hours before our massage enjoying all the amenities. It’s hard to choose a favorite restaurant or buffet. They are all different and delicious.
The pools are beautiful as well and the beach is gorgeous. They also have free entertainment such as shows.
I would definitely love to come back in the future!

Property was great and staff on Family selection side was amazing. But, once you got to Colonial area majority of staff was not as friendly except for Lizardo, (He was Amazing). Bell men acted as if we were bothering them when we needed a cart ride to the other side of property. Poseidon restaurant was absolutely terrible and got two of us sick. We had two bites of our dinner and left. Ana our butler service agent was out of this world amazing and honestly made our stay amazing.

it was a great experience, Staff was extraordinary. Hotel was so large and had great amenities like gym, sport center with many tennis courts, football field, etc.. Many restaurants with different options.
Some staff deserves to mention, our guest service managers, Maximiliano, Kiyoshi, Erick. Family Selection beach staff, Israel, and Jose, and most importantly the Churchill liqueur bar staff Alexander and the other guy, mixologist. They are the best.
Enjoying different cocktails at the Churchill bar after the dinner was the one of the best part of our vacation.

This was a beautiful and clean resort. Their pools were amazing, the sports facilities were the best I've ever seen, and the beach was good as there was plenty of lounge chairs. However, the Family Select option is a must as it gives you access to all 4 resorts, a renovated room, and a private beach area. Unfortunately, there was too much seaweed and we had money stolen from our room.

Our family just returned from an incredible stay at this all-inclusive resort in Mexico, and it was easily one of the best vacation experiences we’ve ever had. We traveled as a group of 11—adults and kids—and everything from start to finish exceeded our expectations. The food was fantastic, the rooms were comfortable and spotless, and the entire property was beautifully maintained. The staff truly made the trip special with their attentiveness and kindness.
A huge shout out to Carlos and Aldo from the Travel Club, who were so welcoming and helpful throughout our stay, and to Ali Garduno from Concierge, who went above and beyond to make sure our group had everything we needed. Traveling with a big family can sometimes be tricky, but the team here made it seamless and enjoyable for everyone. We’re already talking about coming back! 🌴☀️✨

There is a lot to do at this resort, other than spending time at the beach or the pool. However, we enjoyed the beach the most. We liked the warm wind and sound of the surf. There are lots of cabanas for shade. The chairs are not lined up like other resorts. All the staff are very kind. Ali at concierge was very professional and kind. Our room was very nice. We liked the garden view. The covered walk ways were pleasant. We played pickleball every morning. Our grandkids never had a dull moment.

They had so many staff working in all areas of the resort to provide cleanliness, grounds maintenance, entertainment for adults and kids, service at restaurants and bars. It was a great location, lots to do, tons of activities for kids, especially in the Family Selection area. The pools were great. Lots of chairs at pool and beach. The beach was great, however, as the winds increased over our stay the seaweed started coming in. Again they had staff working hard to clear it, but it was getting unmanageable. I don’t think they could do more than they already were in dealing with that. Overall it was a great experience! Food was great!

We just spent a week at the Grand Palladium Kantenah side and had an amazing time. From the moment we arrived, the property felt like a true tropical escape. The resort is huge, beautifully maintained, and surrounded by lush jungle, wildlife, and stunning coastline. Walking around the grounds you constantly see iguanas, agoutis, and tropical birds which made the whole place feel really unique compared to many resorts.

The food was great. With so many restaurants to choose from, it never felt repetitive. The buffets were excellent too. The cocktails were also consistently good. We had the VIP package so ordering top shelf Tequila was an awesome addition.

The staff really made the experience stand out. Everyone we interacted with was friendly, welcoming, and clearly working hard to make sure guests had a great stay. Service at the bars and restaurants was quick and attentive throughout the week.

Myself, my husband and our two boys just finished a two week stay here and it was fabulous! The food was great and so much variety to choose from. The Italian food at Portofino was probably our fav. The butlers in our villa - Erick, Max and Kiyoshi - were spectacular and made sure we were always well taken care of. The only downside was the massive amount of seaweed on the beach, which is always a risk this time of year but it meant we didnt spend anytime in the ocean.

The property was ful.of wildlife too which we enjoyed. The coati are very naughty and brazen and were always trying to steal food out of peoples bags or off of empty tables at the buffet. They are too cute to be mad at though.

I'd say we had a great week here I have literally no complaints. The food was great. The room service was great. Our room was always clean even when I had the do not disturb on the Butler would confirm pools were great. I loved the family selection aspect, but we did spend most of our time at the colonial pool. The Butler service is amazing. I would do family selection just to have the but again they booked everything for me anytime I had any questions that would respond immediately. This is my first time in Mexico and I would say this was probably the best resort I've been to.
