Akumal Natura Glamping offers a luxurious escape in the heart of the jungle, featuring 20 eco-friendly tent bungalows with thatched roofs and cotton canvas walls. A private cenote (natural pool) is available on-site, along with a chill-out area, yoga classes, and a restaurant.
Guests can choose from 15 tents with California King beds or 5 with twin beds, all featuring en-suite bathrooms. Some tents also include a seating area.

I was expecting a glamping experience as advertised, but the place looks outdated and the room was not clean. Stains on the towel, faded curtains, a worm on the sink and the shower area looks dirty. I left right after I arrived and they pretended I stayed the whole 5 day trip to avoid reimbursing my money back. They have ignored my messages. The place is beautiful but the facilities are not glamping at all.

I’m happy to have donated to what seems like a very good cause at least. Never even made it to the animal sanctuary or a cenote. The staff was very understanding and helped us get right back on track…

Absolutely beautiful! The most peaceful and relaxing place, stunning cenotes and the best of nature in this jungle oasis. Staff was so friendly and the food was great. It was very safe and quiet. I especially loved the outdoor swing under the trees.

The property is set in the jungle and provides a cool and calming environment with two cenotes a central communal palapa for yoga, and other venues and few other spaces to relax. All the staff were engaging and friendly. I really felt welcome and a part of their community. A very important part of Akumal Natura is their wild animal rescue and tour is not to be missed.

This was our first time glamping, so we did not know what to expect when we arrived. We were welcomed immediately by Jose, whose personality alone told us we would enjoy our time there. The property is stunning. It has two cenotes, one with a fish spa. We saw a variety of animals during our stay iguanas, spider monkeys, a raccoon, the beautiful pet cat, and some street dogs. The tent was spacious with a fan. The attached bathroom at the back of the tent was semi open, but stayed surprisingly clean. The only issue we ran into with the room was it raining the first night and there was a small leak in the roof onto our luggage. Off Spray was an absolute must during the entirety of our stay. We ate at the on-site restaurant several times and used it as a lounging area in between activities. The staff were all very caring and friendly. You HAVE to take the rescue tour with Cesar. It completely changed the meaning of us glamping on the property. It rounded out the entire experience. Overall, we had a great time and would recommend staying here!

This was a great experience. I stayed in a single bed and it was very comfortabe. There is a cenote on site we did not know about until we were leaving and wish we knew sooner is the only thing that could have been improved on. Probably because we arrived in the evening and we booked the tour for the next morning which goes to the cenote is the reason we did not know there was a cenote. Would definitely stay again and bring the kids next time. Staff were really great and friendly and they treated us really well. We only stayed one night and wish we stayed longer.

The property is beautiful with 2 cenotes and plenty of walking paths through nature. At the time we visited both cenotes looked really murky and not good for swimming. A fun bonus of the property is a free fish spa! They charge $25 per person for this at XelHa but at Akumal Natura you can do it for free which is super cool. The restaurant is a little pricey but everything we ate for all 3 meals was delicious. Now for the actual glamping- it’s Mexico and there is no AC so be ready for a hot, sticky and sweaty night. They gave us 2 fans but I still barely got any sleep. It was simply too hot. But I knew that going in and it was worth it for the experience. Glad it was only one night!
Everyone was very kind and friendly and they even set up a tour of a nearby nature reserve that was EPIC. We saw so many animals and learned so much and then got to experience this really cool enclosed cenote. If you aren’t brave enough for a hot night of camping then at least come for the tour and eat at the restaurant.

We didn't feel safe there. We were the only people there and there is road construction going on very close. There is no way to feel safe with 2 women traveling. So we left and they wouldn't refund our money. The Cenotes looked awful, and the restaurant wasn't open until 7. It was unbearably hot and the mosquitos had a field day with us, even with bug spray on.....Lets just say glamping is not for everyone and we should have felt more safe.

We highly recommend that you take the monkey sanctuary tour with Cesar as a guide. Without his enthusiasm and knowledge, you won't see the true value of this place. The glamping was romantic and fun. Our place was close to private lovely cenote Great value if you can get here by car or cheap transport. Not convenient location.

It has an amazing romantic setting. Unique, quiet, and simply gorgeous in the middle od nature. With two cenotes in the property with 24hr access. We felt like we had the property to ourselves. It would be absolutely perfect if not for one small thing that makes all the difference in the world: lighting. The rooms have a really cool tropical rustic vibe ……. until you turn on the lights and the warm colors of palm fronds are bathed in an icy blue fluorescent light, and then you are transported to a government bureaucracy office or a Wal Mart. Other than that, we loved the place!! We really admire their mission to rehabilitate animals, and we thoroughly enjoyed the tour of the rehabilitation facilities. The on-site cenote is lovely. I understand that the LED lightbulbs are better for the environment, but they completely kill the vibe. If they would only switch to a soft white lightbulb with a warm, it would be the perfect spot. My only other complaint is that they promise, free, bike rental, but the bikes are in such poor condition, that they are practically unusable. Several times, the chain just fell off bike.

ABSOLUTELY WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. HOW IS IT THAT I SHOW UP TO THE PROPERTY THEY DONT EVER ANSWER THE DOOR OR THE PHONE AND NOW BEING CHARGED FOR A STAY THAT NEVER TOOK PLACE. THERE WERE PUDDLES OF FLOODED WATER EVERYWHERE AND NO MOTORCYCLE TAXI WANTED TO TAKE US THERE. ITS NOT CENTRALLY LOCATE. DO NOT BOOK HERE!!

Beautiful and peaceful 4 night stay. Extended twice. Felt like we had the place to ourselves. Two cenotes with one with lights for nighttime swimming. Delicious food at the restaurant. Ate a beautiful barramundi fish (Australia really in Mexico), decent breakfast in the morning, yoga classes, and took the Monkey Sanctuary Tour to support the conservation efforts of the owner. Great private outdoor shower, too. They bring you hot water if you need it. Wifi in the rooms does not work. It's located no where near the beach despite the beautiful image they show of a beach. Lot's of bugs. Owners not very nice. We made a last minute reservation to enjoy a night of relaxing in the jungle with internet. We had been without internet for a week. And they just put up an image of their guests using wifi in their rooms. But the wifi is atrocious. So it was a big waste of time and money. We didn't want to use their restaurant. Bugs are everywhere and if you plan to be there you'll want to bring a six pack of spray hahaha!! Otherwise the place is great ;)

Akumals small town charm has been overrun by big hotels on the beach, if you really want to immerse yourself into the tranquility of this town stay here! You will feel so welcomed and relaxed. The staff is absolutley wonderful, you know they love what they do. The Glampsite, is really beautiful with meticulous attention to detail and the wellbeing of their guests, from hot water service in the morning to fresh cold drinking water available at the restaurant at any time. The Private cenote (for guests only) really ads to the experience, the wildlife in there (birds, turtles, little fish) will be along side you:)

The restaurant area is really nice, with some craft beers, delicious mezcalitas and an old cat for company! Don't bring a suitcase as it's hard to carry down the stone path, stick with duffel bags!!

Spending a couple of days and nights in the Mayan Jungle was refreshing for the mind, soul and body. I was fortunate to experience a Temazcal as well with an authentic Shaman! On Saturday we enjoyed Hindu Cuisine prepared by a beautiful woman from Mumbai. The staff is exceptional. Friendly, efficient, hard working and lovely. I am grateful to have spent time in the Mayan Jungle with such excellent hosts!

We wanted to stay a night in town before heading to a resort. This is past town and down a dirt road (so take a cab - don’t walk with luggage like we did). It’s tucked away in the jungle, so you’ll see some lizards and hear some animals from the trees. The yurts were pretty nice, but I imagine it gets hot if you stay during the hot season. Overall it was 100% worth the experience of staying there.

If you’re looking for a secluded stay and connection with nature this is your place. Amazing concept with the tents in the middle of jungle. Few cenotes in property and staff goes out of their way to help you. Jose and Guadalupe at the front very helpful and friendly. Hotel is a 3 minute bike ride from town and 10 minutes from the beach. There are bikes at hotel. Rooms are very clean. Restaurant on site is cozy and food decent, much cheaper prices than Tulum for sure. If you want to disconnect for a few days, this is your place.

I love the tranquility and zen of the place. The staff were so welcoming and surprisingly there are only few people. Much needed relaxation if you want to be away from the hustle and bustle of cities in between Akumal. The glamping experience was unique. They have cenote but didn’t get to try (yet I did the amazing fish spa). Monkey sanctuary is just beside the hotel yet you’ll need to pay around 70 bucks. Woke up three times from different kinds of insects buzzing and crawling under our blankets. However, it was a good experience to connect with nature. Would recommend to nature lovers!

I have stayed here twice. I enjoyed it so much the first time that I returned. It’s a beautiful and peaceful setting, with a cenote you can swim in. The staff is dedicated to the guests and committed to the environment. The beach is a short bike ride away, and bikes are provided. It’s a great location to explore the nearby ruins and relax at a quiet place at night. I strongly recommend the massage services provided on site. The setting allows for total relaxation, and the massage therapist was excellent.
The on-site yoga classes are amazing as well. All of the yoga instructors had great tips for my practice. I will be back!

It's the most peaceful place in Akumal! You are tucked away in the beautiful jungle close enough to the beach small villages and many pristine cenotes. You can do yoga have a message and a wonderful cooked meal all in one place!

I would highly recommend a stay at this wonderful slice of heaven. It is nestled in the gorgeous jungle and it makes you feel like you are getting a true experience in the area instead of some all inclusive non authentic experience. We loved it. There is also an animal rescue close by, not the monkey sanctuary, that is home to a variety of animals which we enjoyed very very much!! Room was great and staff was incredible. We will be back!

We stayed one week here, we are out doors-y people and like bugs and nature, we had a great stay here in the jungle, yoga in the morning was great and the onsite restaurant cooks really delicious food. We were a little too hot some nights but other nights had a beautiful breeze. We didn't mind the cold showers. And received hot water anytime of day when requested. We rode the bikes to the beach or drove some days. Bike riding might be a work out if you aren't used to bike riding on a regular basis as there are several hills on the route to the beach. Use natural bug spray if you plan on going in the cenotes or the ocean but bring heavy duty spray if you are just chilling or walking around. We were hesitant to use the chemical spray the first several days but it made a huge difference in the amount of bites we got towards the end of our stay. The staff were all every sweet friendly and helpful, we had an awesome time.

Amazing experience overall. The staff was provided excellent service at every step of our stay. The food was very delicious - made with care and gourmet presentation. We ate breakfast, lunch and dinner there. The tents are basic but very cozy and clean. There is a small cenote on the property that makes for a very special swim.
Most impressively, we left a very important document at our room and the front desk staff made tremendous efforts to contact us and return it to us in our hotel in Playa Del Carmen. Possibly not for everyone ( you must like camping I suppose) but a great place and staff.

This is one of the most peaceful places possibly in the Americas. You can relax and heal here. There is peace and tranquility and awesome home cooked meals here for a very low price. There is also an animal sanctuary attached to this location that you can't payronize and possibly visit depending on the time and length of you rent stay. There is a Xenote right on the hotel grounds that Is beautiful and I feel you are lucky you will have a visit from sacred turtles that occasionally pop up there! The staff Ian extremely friendly and there will always be someone there that is bi lingual. It's in a small super safe village that has a lot of culture intense basketball games after the work day and little shops on your way at to the beach which is a short bike ride. Please do not wear toxic bug sprays and sun screen. The area isn't very serious about protecting the animals and sea creatures and will ask you to shower several times before getting into their waters which isn't extremely respectable. The natural items there can be purchased for low. The temperature is hot there so you don't have to shower with hot water however if you must tell the staff the night before and some will be prepared and delivered to you to wash with. Breakfast always includes fresh local delicious fruits! Massage therapist is on site or close by at all times for the maximum healing experience. Come open minded and culturally sensitive and you will have the best experience of your life here!

After staying in mediocre apartments in cities it was great to escape into the woods. The was a lovely respite with chill out space, a private cenote, weekday yoga and bikes to get to the beach. I looked forward to a quiet, serene experience. Unfortunately the couple in the tent nextdoor would not stop talking loudly, so I was up late into the night and early in the morning. If not for them this would have been a great experience.

Wonderful place run but wonderful people., 15 minutes walk to the beach through a real local village with basic shops and local bars. Akumal beach is great. And the village is a good starting piont to visit many attractions of Yucatan.

Wanted to check out this eco-friendly place before flying out of Cancun airport. Solid customer service. It's great if you don't mind the bugs. Try not to go during rainy season as the mosquitoes are relentless, especially in this jungle setting. Cenote didn't look appealing as it's harder to maintain with the rains. The Akumal area has a really nice beach, a bit small, as the resorts have priority. It helps that the site has bikes available to use.

Don't let yourself be fooled by the idea of "glamping" if you aren't ready for sweaty nights, messy hair and wet clothes. Upon arrival, the place was beautiful. The staff was really nice and helpful. We were unaware that there was no hot water. This didn't seem like too much to handle at first, but after intense humidity, a hot shower was necessary. It was extremely humid and all we had a was small fan so sleep was almost impossible. All of the clothes in our suitcase were extremely moist because there was no protection from the humidity. The bed wasn't very comfortable and it smelled like sweat. If you want a step up from camping, this is for you, but after 3 days in the jungle, we found another place.

Staying here was a wonderful experience and I'd go back again. The staff treat you like family, the tents are great, the restaurant is very good and very reasonably priced. They will give you a bicycle and you can pedal to the beach - it's a little over a mile. I highly recommend staying there.

I booked this hotel on Expedia. When we got there we discovered Expedia had made a mistake and booked a room that wasn't available. The owner and staff were very apologetic and we were given a tour of the grounds and allowed to swim in their private cenote. This is a rural jungle property that is a wonderful change from the concrete jungle. Loved the atmosphere. I really can't comment on room comfort or cleanliness as I didn't get one.

Wonderful, serene placel, with caring hosts, a very knowledgeable tour guide (Monica), and outstanding eco-ethics. Snorkeling in Akumal Bay was pretty good (they don't allow flippers to reduce coral damage) -- we saw three sea turtles. As far as the food: we would like to see the breakfast offerings change a little from day to day and the set-menu $10 dinners vary from very good to just OK. But, the outside dining area at Natura has wonderful ambiance.

Akumal Natura is a lovely eco-hotel situated just beyond Akumal Pueblo. Permanent tent cabins are spare, but comfortable. Complementary bicycles are available to use for the short bike ride to Akumal beach, Half Moon Bay, and Yal-Ku lagoon. Take a dip in their private and peaceful cenote when you get back. The staff are friendly and helpful.
