Not even sure how to review this place. It was a pretty good stay until we got robbed. Had 2 rooms hit in 2 different buildings. It was obviously staff as I don’t know who else would have access to all the rooms. All of our bags were obviously rifled through. The staff didn’t seem too concerned when we told them. Seems like theft is common according to other reviews. Keep all valuables on you the entire time. The buffet was average, restaurants were good. The sargassum was especially bad and the ocean was not swimmable most of our stay.

We were overall disappointed in our stay and definitely do not consider this a 5 star hotel.

Pros: Beautiful grounds, great amenities, friendly staff, lots of activities for kids.

Cons:
The beds were uncomfortable and pillows smelled terrible. We even swapped the pillows for 4 more but the new ones smelled as well. It made us not want to spend time in our room and caused very poor sleep.
The kids club was very simple and did not look appealing on first glance. My kids ended up liking it due to the activities but it was overall lacking. No playground on the grounds.
The babysitter situation that they advertise is not a \"babysitting service\" but is off-duty hotel employees. We were looking forward to using this but ended up not using it as it made us uncomfortable.
There were several hours a day where food was not available and happened to occur when my kids and I were really hungry! There is always room service available but options did not look good and the one time we tried to order it they tried to confirm our order about 3 times, over 30 minutes so we ended up cancelling it as we knew it would take at least another 30 minutes to hour to arrive. it would be nice if there was one restaurant or cafe that was open at all hours of the day.

Overall, we were disappointed and will not be returning.

However, even though we chose the family selection, which built for families, it’s mainly families with kids 4-5 and up.. the place is not so accessible for younger kids, had to carry the baby and stroller up / down the stairs often and not much to do for younger age. No shallow water pools for babies..

The staff was excellent; always willing to lend a hand or direct you to where you needed to go. Every need was taken care of for my entire family of 20, including a special beach bonfire for my 70th birthday celebration. Food was great and butlers arranged dinners for 5 consecutive nights at different restaurants where we could all dine together. All guests had swim out rooms so we could visit each other in the pools outside our beach front rooms. Everyone raved about the trip and no one wanted to leave. Hats off to Grand Palladium Family Selection team, especially Gerardo and our butlers. We will be back!

The Grand Palladium is one of the better resorts in the Riveria Maya region in Cancun. We were very warmly welcomed into the Family Selection lounge and they had honored all of our requests.

The upgrade is definitely worth the extra money however the butler service is a hit and miss, depending on whom you get and how full the resort is during your visit.

The place is huge so do take the time to explore and enjoy the surroundings. We were given the privilege of accessing all of the activities, areas and restaurants which was a bonus. Our favorites were of course the Nest and Al Hacienda for buffet and El Dorado for dinner. We had made reservations every night but the rest of the restaurants failed to leave a mark with Bamboo being the worst of the lot.

The swimming pool area is very well maintained however the main pool is uniformly over 5ft deep so please bear that in mind if going in with kids.

Our room was in Villa 49 and was extremely comfortable and roomy. We really appreciated the automatic lights in the bathroom and the seperation between the shower, toilet and washing areas. It's really helped accessibility.

The nightly shows were the highlight though and the team went all out every night to make our trip very memorable. We are very grateful to Grand Palladium for their hospitality.

Overall, we probably wouldn't return, I think we are simply not all-inclusive people and would prefer to go out to a town and find authentic mexican food.

Most of the servers at the buffets clearly don't want to be there. The restaurants were a lot better than the buffets.

The room was nice, we had a pool swim-up. The Butler was very helpful using the App because we had a lot of questions and needed to make reservations at the restaurants.

The sheets on the bed, though, were extremely thin. I don't think they understand what a true comforter/duvet is. I requested one and received yet another set of sheets. We were so happy to go to the Westin at Cancun after this because they know how to make a nice bed.

The main issue with this hotel was the food was fairly mediocre, and we were pressured by a \"concierge\" when we checked in to book a tour with him of their time share. We went to the nearby hotel property and there were couples everywhere getting sales pitches. This is not what we expected from the hotel. The guy would see us and give us yet another pitch-a free massage, etc.

The pluses were seeing a lot of cool animals like the mexican racoons everywhere and the monkeys. The food options at The Family Selection pool were fantastic and that pool was a nice quiet place to go away from the rest of the hotel. For food, I would be sure to go to the hibachi dinner at least one night.

The beach area by Family Selection was the best part.

They SCAM YOU with the $600 hotel credit. Is nothing but a sad coupon book. I requested to change rooms because the room had a bad humid smell. They never called me back. I also requested a bottle sterilizer 3 times and I never got it. They pretend they care but they wont do anything like this guy that saw us leaving front desk to complain about the room and said: I can definitely help you out and will personally look into it; 4 minutes later was trying to sell us a time share and guess what? We never saw his face again.
They gave us welcome fruits but they were rotten and had mold in it. I complained but then again no action to make things better for us. Food was a 6.5/10

What I did like was the property itself. Very green and lots of wild friendly animals to see around the property.

We stayed at the Family Selection Villas with our 20-month-old and 3-year-old. Overall, it was a nice stay with some clear positives, but also a few disappointments.
Pros:
Family Selection offers a more private experience, including a welcome beach bag with kids’ sunglasses and water bottles (a nice exclusive touch). There is a dedicated family buffet with a play area and an exclusive family pool with fun water features for younger kids. The rooms are beautiful—we had an upgraded beachfront swim-out room and highly recommend the upgrade. Staff were very kind, especially Emmanuel our butler and Edgar at La Paisana, which had the best food on the resort. The property was very clean, cart service was efficient, and access to multiple resorts (Kantenah, Colonial, White Sands, and TRS Yucatán) was a big plus. The White Sands pool was the best one.

Cons:
The Kids Club/Baby Club felt misadvertised—both age groups were combined with limited visible supervision, and we did not feel comfortable leaving our toddlers. The $600 resort credit advertised via Expedia was actually a coupon book with minimum spends, not true credit. The main pool is 6 ft deep throughout, pools were not heated (even in December), food was generally bland with limited kid options, and poolside buffet items were left uncovered with flies. Entertainment was limited and better for older kids, and drinks were watered down.
Overall:
Beautiful resort with great staff and amenities, but better suited for older kids

Our second trip to Family Selection Kantenah Riviera Maya firstly because our kids (5 and 7 this year) just LOVED the daily kids camp so much. The staff there (including Karen, Emma, Edu, Jazi, Lore, Maritza) were just wonderful and the kids didn't want to leave at the end of the day.
We upgraded to the 40 building, the beachfront one and had an absolutely incredible suite with two huge rooms and two full bathrooms, as well as a private hot tub on the spacious balcony. The upgrade for the space and proximity to the beach and view was worth it. The room was just HUGE. The dedicated butlers for building 40 were also terrific (Emmanuel and Luis) and were available to help us with anything we needed by Whatsapp.
The Family Selection beach is notably better than the other beach areas as its much less crowded and much more space between chairs. Worth the upgrade! The beach itself is great and wonderful for kids because it stays relatively shallow really far out, but there are some gentle waves to not make it boring. Even our 5 year old who is not a strong swimmer could have fun a fair ways out. If you encounter rocks while walking in, shift down the beach, there are plenty of white sand only areas to walk far out in the bathtub temp water, as fish swim around you! One day a big nest of seaweed accumulated in our area but it had moved off by the next day.
Tips: Bring sunscreen, its exorbitantly priced at the gift shop (though there is a communal bottle at Family Select beach).

The uograded room in building 40 had an amazing view. Rooms were recently renovated with modern look and feel.

VEGETARIANS BEWARE! VERY LIMITED SELECTION.... Even the formal dinner restaurants were subpar at accommodating vegetarians.

Resort is lacking in quality and features and needs significant improvements compared to other 5-star resorts and other Grand Palladium properties I have stayed at before.

The only savior for this trip was the upgraded room with an ocenfront view.

we have been going to the Mayan Riviera location for 25 years. And this is the nicest family all inclusive resort we've ever been to. Their restaurants are by far the best their main pool at Family selection is quite deep. So be sure to bring a floatie for little kids yes the family selection Beach and bar are the best so be sure to find that.

It’s a very large hotel with facilities that aren’t new but are in very good condition. There’s some wear and tear, but it’s normal for its age and the high guest traffic.
The staff is very attentive and helpful. We had the chance to stay in one of the villas with butler service, and that was a huge plus because they truly assist with everything!
One point to consider: the restaurant by the pool is open-air, and many animals such as birds and coatis enter it. This is somewhat unsanitary since they climb onto tables to eat leftover food, and the staff has limited ability to keep them away. There are also placemats placed on the tables that are never changed and are rarely, if ever, cleaned — which, combined with the presence of those animals, could pose a health risk.

If you’re traveling with children, I think this is one of the best options you can find in the area, as the hotel is not only designed but also operated to ensure kids have a great time. It offers excellent facilities for them, such as a swimming pool, a water park, and a lovely kids’ club, as well as multiple well-organized activities.

We just returned from 6 days at the Grand Palladium Kantenah Family selection and we have been sad all day, we miss it. This is a fantastic resort only outshined by the people that work there. They are the real reason to visit. Emmanuel, Luis and Rogelio are the best butlers, taking care of restaurant reservations (if you want, The NEST was the BEST with Keniya, Jorge, Antonio, Gustavo, Xcehl, Carla, Faranda to make sure you feel special!)The family selection option is totally worth it, with a private beach and bar (with Joel and Danny to take care of everything) pool with restaurant and bar, and the dining room (NEST) for breakfast and dinner with buffet and menu options. We were lucky enough to get a beach side room with a private rooftop pool in Villa 40, the best building by far. Sitting in the pool, listening to waves and looking out to the ocean over palm tree tops is serious rock star living. Highly recommended. The beach is wide with plenty of chairs with umbrella huts, never an issue finding shade. Main pool shade was more difficult at times, but not impossible. And that pool is great, huge with a water park feature my kids loved! The family selection pool is nice as well, smaller for little kids, but still big enough for some space. Food is good and plentiful, even little buffets pop up at the main pool. Nice boardwalk through eco zones with trees and animals in nature between buildings that's fun. My family really felt special here, thank you Grand Palladium!

Had an amazing time with our family. The only feedback - we booked a family selection room with a swimup pool. It would be nice if there was some privacy separation between the pool of our neighbors. We had instances where our neighbors were in front of our pool area, basically viewing inside of our room.

Trip dates: Aug 1–6, 2025. Family of 4, teens 15 & 17. Resort looks great but lacks follow-through. We were assigned the wrong bed type (one king) and had to push for a room change. Food quality is a major issue—cold, bland, and very small portions. I got food poisoning from the Sports Bar and was sick for 24 hours. Family Selection restaurant (The Nest) was slow and inedible. Pools are mixed—Colonial is too deep, Family Selection overcrowded, but White Sands pool was the best part of the resort. Drink quality poor at most bars except Churchill’s in Kantenah lobby. Also got stuck in a 2-hour Travel Club sales pitch just for massage vouchers—not worth it. Overall, disappointing stay. Won’t return.

We were a party of 16 and it was very hard to make dinner reservations to eat all together, even at the buffet. The rooms are on the smaller side. The bathrooms have very little counter space. The staff doesnt try to accomedate with any request. Beach is not swimeable, too much sea weed.

It was huge and well kept around the grounds. We went when the seaweed was extreme however they did their best to keep it clean. The pools were nice and enjoyable and the food was… okay.

The biggest issue was we had family selection VIP and yet felt like we had no benefits except a butler (who just was a concierge for the most part) the “vip” pool had rough edges and my kids and I all got extremely sick from it. I presume diapers full of poop from irresponsible parents swimming in there. It was gross. Another big issue was the pressure to upgrade our VIP with a better VIP. I mean why did we pay for it if it’s useless? Absolutely ridiculous waste of money. Learned my lesson to never pay for VIP at these resorts.

Our main bar in the vip section was closed. The hammocks in our vip section empty and barren. The beach area abandoned.

Overall I had a bad experience and will never invest in their resort again.

We stayed at the family selection Kantenah. Upon arrival everyone was amazing. We were a large group of 14. Our butlers were great and helped us make reservations at most restaurants to accommodate our entire party when possible. At check in Lenny was amazing and helped us every time we needed something. We had a few issues with our room but they were always understandable and got it resolved. Jonathan at the pool was amazing at getting us drinks everyday! The food was amazing at most restaurants. We had the most excellent service at the Nest restaurant night service from Daniel and Juan Poot. Our experience was great and service top tier. Thank you for our stay.

We absolutely loved our 10 day stay at Grand Palladium. The upgrade to Family Selection was absolutely worth it due to the extra amenities and having a butler, but not necessary to have a great vacation. The food was great everywhere we went, but the Dalia was our favorite buffet. The staff was always amazing. The only reason I did not give it a 5 star is because I wanted more from the beach, there was a small area where we could swim, but other than than this place was amazing. Also, if you stay here, take advantage of the professional photographers there, you won't regret it!

We stayed 6 nights and had a great time. The property grounds are gorgeous- that was my favorite part. And seeing all of the local wildlife. There are iguanas and lizards everywhere and other small
Mammals and birds. As advertised the property is very large and we didn’t even see all of it. They have transportation available whenever needed to get from point A to B. We used that regularly. Our kids preferred the main pool and the white sands pool over the smaller family selection pool so unfortunately we didn’t take advantage of the family selection bars or pool. The sargassum was horrible and we didn’t get to enjoy the beach at all. We did attend a UV party on the beach which was fun at night. The entertainment could use a little upgrade but we did enjoy the Latin Dancers and went to the tequila and taco party on the first night we arrived. I wish we would have not been so tired- that would
Have been fun to dance and try some of the food and treats. The rooms were adequate and comfortable. We really only used our butler for making dinner reservations and setting up rides a few times. I didn’t have the what’s app and had to relay on others in our party to contact them. I tried to download it but had no cell coverage and I couldn’t get the app to work. The WiFi was decent throughout most of the resort. We food was average buffet fare and the Al A Carte restaurants we went to were very good. Overall we throughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely return!

I figured out that if I messaged him in Spanish, he could take up to two hours to respond but if I messaged him in English, he would respond much faster. The food variety was good but lacked flavor

The property was beautiful, 10 out of 10! You can spend all day exploring. It's huge! The beach has a lot of seaweed and smells like dead fish. The property was very clean. However, I had two cockroaches in my room and one on my table at dinner. The service was mostly wonderful, except when the bartenders were busy, which was understandable but sometimes they were even rude.

This was our first trip to a Grand Palladium resort. Family Selection was perfect for our family vacation & I cannot say enough good things about the service provided. Having the pool for family selection only was wonderful as it was much quieter than the big pools at the resort. The Nest restaurant was lovely for an a la carte option for breakfast. Our butler Abraham went above & beyond to make our trip unforgettable & help with my husbands birthday celebrations. The small details like the nightly delivery of sweet treats to the room was nice. The food at Bahia & El Dorado was too notch. Although the combined resort is quite large, shuttles are readily available to get you where you want to go. Drinks in the Kantenah lobby bar were great. We will be returning in October.

Our room was nice, except that the swim out deck was in direct sun from early afternoon until sundown, so was virtually unusable for anything except drying clothes.

If you are going with young kids, the Family Selection is a good area. They start you off with beach toys and candies in the room; candy depots everywhere are cool if you keep track of how much your kids eat. Excellent activities are available and the staff are really kind to children. We chose the Family Selection so our granddaughter could come to our room and swim. Might not choose it again.

The staff were mostly excellent. Our butler, Erick, handled all our reservations and additional requests.

We came back to our room one morning while housekeeping was there. I witnessed my coffee cup being cleaned in the bathroom with a facecloth … presumably rinsed with sink water, rather than a replacement. We also spent two days with no hand towels … a minor inconvenience, but pretty basic stuff.

Pools were good. The White sands pool is walkable for most people, the Colonial is about 5’ deep in most areas, so a little harder for shorter people (like me).

Restaurants were hit and miss … although mostly hits. Italian, Helio, Sushi show, were all amazing. El Dorado steak was a little disappointing, but my wife said her salmon was amazing. The beach sandwich bar is pretty gross. I chose a hot dog as my best option. However, all of our other dining experiences were somewhere between good and fabulous.

We just got back from a week stay at FS kantenah beachside Villa 4018. I have nothing but positive feedback to give to this resort. We have been to many other properties over the years and this will now be the one we recommend to family and friends. Claudia at the FS check-in was amazing at facilitating rooms that worked for our multiple families and was able to upgrade us due to our Expedia VIP membership. We had two butlers Emmanuel and Luis who answered any questions we had immediately via the what’s Up app and were able to book activities for our children as well as book all our a la carte restaurants for our two families. We will definitely be back!!! Our expectations were definitely exceeded!!!

This place was so amazing! Very clean, amazing and friendly staff. Food was hit and miss but overall really good. Bar drinks seem to be watered down a bit but really tasty. Our butler Daniela was over the top amazing and she is the main reason we will be returning. It’s a very large resort and the frequent carts going around make it very easy to get around. Nightly entertainment is great. Daily entertainment could use some work, especially for the teens 13-17. If the resort can keep the costs down, I can see this resort being fully booked year round. I highly recommend this resort to all my friends and family and anyone looking for a great time.

We’ve been to a few resorts in Mexico, The Grand Palladium Family Selection is the best so far!!
The service with our Butlers was astounding. They were kind and very friendly and always at your service if you needed anything. The resort itself was very clean and welcoming, it was beautiful with so many amenities available. The buffets and a la carte restaurants were also very clean and the food always fresh with so many options available.
The nighttime entertainment was so much fun for the whole family. There is always activities happening during the day with the junior club to keep the kids entertained.
Already looking forward to return for our next vacation.

Stayed for 10 days and were blown away by this resort. Our kids (4 and 7) had a blast with the pools and activities. Our butler made the stay so enjoyable with a couple surprises for my birthday and our honeymoon. The service was top notch everywhere we went. The AC worked great in the room. First time at an all inclusive where things smelled nice and clothes weren’t damp! We were also very impressed by the food at the buffets and a la cartes. If you have kids, I highly recommend booking the family selection part of the resort. It’s the first all inclusive where I came back actually feeling rested and not overstimulated from the vacation with our boys!

Our family stayed at Grand Palladium Family Selection this April. The properties, rooms and amenities were absolutely beautiful. The concierge was very friendly and ensured we had dinner reservations and any room requirements (towels, soap, water, etc) The beach was beautiful (even though it was sargassum season) and the pools were lovely. The resort staff were very accommodating and a pleasure to interact with daily. We loved that it was built around the jungle and all the animals were comfortable with human presence. Entertainment was great for families and we liked that there was something for adults here and there. If you are looking to unwind, relax and have some fun - this is the resort for you!

The family selection pool always has loungers available and has a great entertainment for kids and service. The rooms are modern and clean and butlers are super helpful. The beach is not great because of sargassum but it's a problem for this whole area

We have visited several all inclusive resorts in Cancun and Riviera Maya. This resort is huge! Lots of walking to get to different places but a very well landscaped property. Perfect for families with small to teenage kiddos. Butlers were helpful with scheduling dinner reservations, but preferred to use whatsapp. Never really saw the Butlers during our stay. Food at the buffet was excellent. The Sushi and Brazilian restaurants were the best! The others were mediocre. Evening activities were a little cheesy. Awesome pools but very deep. Saving chairs at the pool became its own sport! Have to get up early to get a spot and be sure to leave some personal items as people had their spots taken multiple times. Beaches were full of seaweed but apparently this is seasonal from March-July which was a bummer. Overall wonderful stay.

First of all, when we registered, they charged us ten dollars as tax, which we paid, but the employees couldn't do it properly. We tried to use our bank card several times and the transaction was canceled, and we tried to use our card again. Two days after our stay, they called our room and said that the money had not been withdrawn from our account and that we had to come to the hotel again to pay. We went to pay again, but they said that we would come in the afternoon to pay. Our minds were all occupied with this issue and I didn't feel good. As for the restaurant, first of all, the food plates were clearly not washed properly, and in the chicken and meat section, I asked for a second serving of chicken, and the server served me the chicken with such dissatisfaction and reluctance that I never went there again, even though the amount was very small. At first, I suggested that I could serve the chicken myself, but the server didn't allow it.

My family of four has been traveling to the Riviera Maya for the past 13 years. We always spend spring break at different resorts. This was our second time (first trip was on 2020 post Covid) to the Grand Palladium. We loved our first stay, but our recent visit was absolutely wonderful!!! The new Family Selection program is great! The resort is beautiful and well maintained, but the employees make the difference. I cannot say enough good things about them all. Everyone smiles and says hello! They are incredibly friendly and helpful. Humberto was taking care of us prior to our arrival and treated us as royalty during our entire stay!!! Can't thank him enough for our best stay on the Riviera Maya!!! Butlers Paris, Emmanuel and Luis were incredible as well! The maid service provided was impeccable which was greatly appreciated!!! I cannot recommend this property and the Family Selection highly enough! So grateful and blessed to have had this experience!

We just returned from a stay at the Family Selection at Grand Palladium. We had two adults as well as 14 and 16yo girls. I think it's fair to say that all of our expectations were exceeded. The property itself is huge- I would venture to guess we saw less than half. If (hopefully when) we go again, I would do Family Selection again as it gives you the most access across all the areas. Our butler was incredibly helpful; particularly with making our dinner reservations at the a la carte restaurants. We ate at the Hibachi restaurant (Sumptuori), the Italian restaurant (Portofino), the steak house (El Dorado), and the Brazilian Steakhouse (Bahia and Brasa.) Again, if (hopefully when) we return, I would revisit all except the Brazilian steakhouse. They seemed to be short staffed and you only get one shot at each meat.

We ate breakfast at the Nest each day. They had a buffet and also the ability to order from the menu. Most days for lunch we ate at Es Niu which had a great selection and amazing service from Maria, Leo and Lizbeth.

Overall this was an amazing trip. We didn't leave feeling as though we needed a vacation following our vacation. We were able to relax and enjoy the various things offered. Highly recommend.

We stayed for a week in the Family Selection in a swim up suite. We have a 9 and 12 year old. It was nice having the pool area outside the suite for them to hang out in. The food at the buffets are decent. A good amount of fresh grilled items. Book the restaurants in advance. IMO El Dorado (get Filet Mignon), Japanese Restaurant, and Italian Restaurant are worth booking. The Thai and Brazilian places were not great. Staff are awesome. We had a Butler and it was so handy, they are so responsive. The only warning I would say is it is a great place to go as a family or someone looking for a relaxing vacation. If you are looking to party hard the night time entertainment is OK and the adults only TRS pool seemed to be filled with 60 who were not exactly in the partying mood. It was a great place for what we wanted.

We absolutely loved our stay at Grand Palladium Family Selection. Having the VIP butler services was an added upgrade that was absolutely worth it! They were all truly amazing, helpful and very friendly. The two recommendation our family would like to make is the dinning out options are sometimes confusing on the app. It looks like the buffet is open on the Palladium app and a couple times we arrived to the restaurants as there were closing which was frustrating. Having more mid-day (11am-1pm) dinning options would be great for family with teens! Haha! Another recommendation would be to make sure hot food is kept and served hot, not luke warm like we experience a few times. One of our family members experienced major stomach upset/fever etc by day 5 of our stay for 4 days and made the ability to do excursions Impossible. Maybe due to this issue? We do sincerely appreciate everything Palladium had to offer and we can’t wait to come back again one day soon! Mucho gracias!!!
