The room was spotless. Bed was a little soft for my likeness however that is personal preference. The staff were great. The pool and spa were also great. The beach area was ok. It was rocky in spots. The food was so/so. Some of the restaurants were better than others, but overall I was satisfied. The only complaint I would have is that the they try to get you to buy into the Hyatt vacation club. I don’t like being pressured into a timeshare when I’m on vacation. I would highly recommended upgrading to the preferred ocean view. The view was gorgeous and the breeze on the balcony was perfect.

I would have liked to see more chairs and umbrellas for the pool and beach areas.

Do not book transportation with the hotel, as it’ll cost you almost double the price. I found some local taxis that were much cheaper. For example, the hotel quoted me $105 USD for a one way trip to Tulum, but I found a gentlemen via Google and texted him through WhatsApp and paid $60 USD. That said, staff were very helpful with finding transportation.

Overall, I really enjoyed my stay and I am sad to leave.

\"The resort in Playa del Carmen had so many wonderful aspects—beautiful grounds, fantastic food, and most of the staff were exceptional. However, I had a deeply upsetting experience. After being seated in a restaurant, my girlfriend was asked to leave due to a dress code, which was incredibly embarrassing, especially since we were already seated. The assistant concierge manager’s response was frightening—he spoke in a threatening, almost thuggish way, and it left us uneasy, especially as tourists in a foreign country. I also made a mistake by reacting in anger and disrespecting her on the way out, and I deeply regret that. My reaction was a response to feeling powerless, but I take full responsibility. Despite this, I hope the resort addresses this behavior, because it otherwise has great potential. I give the resort 3 stars—the staff and setting were fantastic, but this incident left a serious mark on our experience.\"

Overall nice resort. Smaller which is good and bad. Restaurant choices are slim and they do not take reservations. Most staff were awesome, but some just seem like they do not want to be there. Great for kids and beach is shielded from most debris from ocean. Our swim up location was awesome.

Everything about this hotel was THE BEST! All of the staff was friendly and attentive. They have amenities I hadn’t seen before. The swim up pool on our back patio was so fun. The room was very clean and well stocked daily, they even offer turn down service. Food at every restaurant was SO GOOD! Food allergies? No problem! They will help identify dishes meeting your dietary needs and will even prepare food not on the menu “special” for you in the kitchen. Highly recommend getting a hydrotherapy session at the spa, followed this up with a massage, what an experience! I highly suggest going with “premier”, worth every penny! We will be back!!

We had an amazing vacation at Dreams Aventuras Playa del Carmen. What made the experience even more memorable was the staff, who went above and beyond the typical all-inclusive service. From Emilio, our concierge, to Amado and Jazi, the bartenders at the Preferred restaurant; Roberto at the pool and cabanas; and Katya and Karen serving drinks and food—everyone was incredibly kind, professional, and always smiling.

The hotel’s location is excellent, and we enjoyed beautiful weather throughout our stay. We would definitely return and highly recommend this hotel.

The resort was decent , not near as good of food as we have had at others and they must water down their alcohol due to when you watch them make your drink they put lots in but the drinks are not strong and not the best tasting. Honestly it was fun but I guess you get what you pay for it was much more affordable than some we have been to in the past but the trade of is the food and the drinks were not near as good.

Loved the stay as we got married at this resort 15 years ago. I did let them know about our anniversary but nothing was mentioned from them, little disappointing. Also the ladies at the front that talked us into going to talk about a time share was a bad experience. They told us and hour and a half took 3 hours of our day plus travel. They lied about why we were going they and didn’t tell me what it was. Staff at the resort were really good. It’s very clean.

The resort is lovely, the building is well laid out, the amenities are great, the food is very good, and there is a wonderful breeze that flows through the lobby. All of this is wonderful and can be replicated in other resorts. But the thing that sets this resort apart is the staff! They are amazing and they care so much! Karen and Natali as concierges, Erik and Roberto assisting at the pool side and at the beach, the entertainment staff of Abigail, Perla, and Edwin were just wonderful. The serving staff at the restaurants were also top notch. Our daughter has celiac disease and an allergy to peanuts. This was noted and carefully catered to at every meal. Suggestions were made for alternatives and each menu had options for her. I would like to specifically recognize Manuel in El Patio, Jose, Teresita, and Bradley in Oceana. This was one of the best family vacations we have had!

Fantastic week at Dreams. Rooms were spacious, clean and well stocked. Rooms service was quick and staff were so kind and attentive. We particularly enjoyed the non stop fun and activities from sun up to sun down. The activities team was so much fun! Decently nice property. Low rating is due to the food. It was terrible. The food was worse than school cafeteria food. The steak at the Italian restaurant was like a Salisbury steak with the consistency of heavy jello. We had to upgrade the premier dining options to access halfway edible food. Drinks were fine, and the staff was friendly with good service. At over $600 per night, I expect decent food.

I recently stayed at Dreams Las Aventuras Riviera Maya and had mixed feelings about the experience. The staff throughout the resort were very friendly and helpful, which was definitely one of the highlights of the trip.

Unfortunately, several aspects of the resort were disappointing. About half of the restaurants were closed each night, which limited dining options and made it difficult to experience everything the resort advertised. The facilities also felt old and outdated, and overall maintenance did not seem to be a priority.

The hotel itself did not resemble what you would expect from a five-star resort, and the pictures online were somewhat misleading compared to the actual condition of the property. The “private” beach was also covered in seaweed during our stay, which made it less enjoyable to use.

Another downside was the in-room amenities. Unlike many other all-inclusive resorts I’ve stayed at, the room only had beer in the refrigerator and no liquor bottles provided. Additionally, the liquor served at the bars seemed very watered down.

The resort also advertises a “premium” side, but during our stay it appeared that everyone had access to those areas, which made the upgrade feel misleading.

Overall, the staff was very kind and accommodating, but the resort itself did not meet the expectations set by its five-star rating or promotional photos.

Staff is extremely helpful and aim to please. Although often appears to be hoping for a tip.
Rooms design are frustratingly inefficient. Not enough drawer space, a useless armour that had no rod to hang anything, and no shelves or drawers. We kept out shoes at the bottom. . Not enough hooks to hang robes or wet towels. Bathroom has no drawers at all so all of your toiletries have to be kept on the counter. Housekeeping appeared to loose interest in us as the week progressed. The special snacks were only restocked the first four days No more M&Ms or pringles chips . I suppose that’s just for the newbies!

Everything was great. The room was modern, clean, spacious, bright and beautiful. Great view. Comfortable seating on the balcony. Service/hospitality was excellent. Food/drinks were great. We did the preferred room so we got brand name alcohol. The spa was wonderful. We did the hydrotherapy twice and spa treatments once. I got a facial/cranial sacral massage and my husband got a massage with three different modalities. We both loved our treatments. The property is well maintained and has a variety of restaurants. Its located inside a gated community so you can walk outside the resort and explore a little without a car. You can rent a golf cart if you want to. There is a nice public beach you can walk to.

We had a terrible experience with this resort with several issues during our stay..

1) Toilet flooded three times - never offered to change us rooms - suggested we throw toilet paper in garbage can, this is incredibly unsanitary.

2) Fridge would freeze everything - asked for this to be fixed and wasn't

3) Phone didn't work, requested this to be fixed twice

4) Room was supposed to stocked every day with beverage and snacks and wasn't, had to call each day and ask...

5) Concierge was not helpful

6) Pictures don't accurately depict the resort

7) Food was below average with very long waits, dinners taking 1 1/2 to 2 hours.

I will never go to another dreams resort, and I will be sure to let others know on all social media sites and anywhere else I can comment.

We spent a lot of money on our stay and we were extremely disappointed. Room and Staff were great. Otherwise, tons of children. The pools, restaurants and lobbies were crowded and noisy. Advertised 7 \"restaurants\" but each night we were there only 3+/- were open, the ones we wanted to dine at were closed 2 of the 3 nights of our stay. There is no true \"beach\" anywhere nearby, only a semi man-made enclosed lagoon. The food was inconsistent and about average at best (with stingy portions). 15 minute wait for omelet at breakfast buffet. Liquor selection was average and although \"all-inclusive\" the only wines offered (without having to pay for) were a house red or white. There is little to do outside of the resort. It is an enclosed \"Americanized\" community with some ticky-tacky touristy boutiques and few inspiring bars or restaurants nearby. There is an interesting area that one can watch some very entertaining dolphins do tricks. Seemed to work for many other guests but absolutely not for us, especially after the big bucks we paid.....

The evening restaurants can be tricky as they close for weddings, and don't take reservations - first come first serve. Which means wait times can be over an hour to get a table.

Evening events were amazing, the fire show, the beach night movies, the evening music - something different each night in the lobby with a mixology bar.

The staff is truly wonderful - everyone is kind, helpful, and genuinely tries their best.
A very special thank you to our concierge Emilio - he was amazing and really made a difference during our stay.

Food - 9/10
The food quality was very good, especially at the Preferred Club restaurants. We really enjoyed our breakfasts and lunches there, and the service was excellent.
We only reduced one point because of the long waiting times for dinner. Most evenings we had to wait 45–60 minutes (or longer) to be seated, and the waiting lists made dining feel a bit inconvenient.

Resort building & rooms - 8/10
The main downside for us was the condition of the resort itself. The building and rooms feel quite dated.
We also noticed a sewer smell in the bathrooms and poor ventilation, especially in the mornings, which made the rooms feel less comfortable.

Beach area
The resort is located in a bay, and the water was very shallow with a muddy bottom, rocks, and seaweed. While it felt safe for small children, it wasn’t ideal for swimming, diving, or truly enjoying the Caribbean Sea. We didn’t get to experience the beautiful turquoise water we were hoping for.

It was quite expensive for not being on a real beach and some parts of the resort look neglected. We booked a room that could fit rollaway beds for our kids but they gave us a honeymoon suite that barely had enough room for one bed and the hot tub was broken. They changed it but it took the whole day and asking many times. We got offered two free tickets to the Tulum ruins if we sat through an hour long Hyatt Vacation Club presentation at a much nicer Dreams resort. We went to the presentation which turned out to be three hours long and ate up half our day and then they only gave us enough money for one ticket to the ruins. It’s our fault for falling for the scam, but it was definitely misrepresented. Positives were the food at the Mexican and Italian restaurants, plus the entertainment staff were nice to our kids.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Dreams Adventuras Riviera Maya for a Christmas vacation.

We were treated very well and, even better, we were considered “preferred quests” with access to special areas of the resort with some extra perks.

From the time we arrived to our departure, the staff was courteous, helpful, professional, and overall delightful to interact with.

The room was very clean and well maintained. The restaurants were tastefully decorated with wonderful staff. The pools and hot tub were also well maintained.

I recommend the hydro-therapy session in the spa and the Italian restaurant “Portofino.”

I would highly recommend this resort in Maya Riviera the next time you visit Mexico.

Special shout-out to our arrival agent Hernandez and our snorkeling trip advisor Victoria. In general, everyone is a pleasure to have met.

Smaller resort (part of the appeal for our group), but so comfortable, safe, and super accessible to the local area. Such great attentiveness from the preferred club concierges (Guillermo was particularly helpful for us) and some specific staff were an especially great. Itza and Abigail were a highlight of the week from the entertainment crew with their authentic, spicy personalities. Took a bunch of us Canadians on the free bike tour and it set the tone for our whole time in Puerto Aventuras.

Don’t expect anyone on the property to help you get smaller bills and pesos are actually king here. Beautiful natural amenities on the property (don’t miss the natural pool by barracuda bar) but if you’re coming for something other than Mexican or Asian food this might not be the place for you. Gohan (Asian restaurant) was the one restaurant we were really impressed by, otherwise the buffet was the star.

Preferred club room (marina view) was on the top floor and was so great with its lofted ceilings that we almost didn’t want to go with our upgrade the last couple nights to our swim out room. Preferred club side is exponentially quieter and the included 50 min hydrotherapy in the spa was AMAZING! More of a Nordic spa experience (we didn’t even know about it until we arrived) Wonderful, chill vacation as the homebase of a friend’s wedding. But if you’re looking for an amped up resort experience, this probably isn’t the place for you. I’d go back in a heartbeat.

For the price, I recommend the.Preferred Guest package as you get some extra service including a lounge. The staff is the best part of our stay - attentive and nice. Location is good and amenities are fine - but it is smaller resort which is a good thing as it never feels crowded.
The resort should invest in two things: better food at the restaurants and better bedding and room accommodations. They said you should book through Expedia as it matters to the resort what their customers are important.

They were super accommodating about letting us access the amenities 3 hours before check in while they got our room ready for no extra charge and late check out - they offered us a hospitality room to use so we could store our luggage, shower, and change before leaving for the airport. What a gift to be able to enjoy some bonus time on the beach before heading home to the snow.

I stayed for four nights, and while the room was clean, that’s about the only positive part of my experience. The food was downright terrible, and the drinks were so weak they might as well have been alcohol-free. On top of that, there seemed to be absolutely no noise control. I was kept awake night after night by loud music and people shouting until 2–3 AM. It was extremely frustrating and made it nearly impossible to rest. I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing stay.

The tremendous leadership and dedication of the staff make this a favorite stay. Fernando, Jazi and Ivan in preferred, Julian in Oceana, Rosalba, Natali, Barbara in houskeeping. Wonderful well motivated professional staff and year over year the resort makes constant improvements, always an activity or a positive addition made.

Dreams was a pleasure to stay at. I recommend being a preferred guest. The staff were gracious and pleasant. Very helpful and quick to assist.

The room was very clean and well stocked with fresh towels and drinks in the mini bar.

I would return again.

Some areas of the hotel could use some touching up. It’s rather inconsistent where some areas are well maintained while others are not. It’s similar to the staff, some staff was over the top while others aren’t as helpful leaving a rather inconstant experience. Same could be said for the dining staff, on occasion you get good service while at the same restaurant on another day would be different.

We (fam of 4 plus Mom) just got back. Minor issues phone not working ect. They are attentive. Might take a day, but they are a \"make it right\" property. We did not do the excusions this time around. With it being fall you were guaranteed about 3 hours of rain mid day. However, numbers were fantastic at dinner. Zero wait, plenty of space at the pools. Food was excellent! Preferred is the way to go. Gets you into the preferred pool which is a quieter environment. Lots of activities at the main pool as well. We dove into what was offered. Magic show, karaoke, and the fire show was our favorite. This resort is nestled in this neat marina town. We walked a good amount and rented a golf cart. Resort was great! This was our first with Hyatt. Would totally go back. Staff was outstanding. 10/10 Get the family room. The two beds on the one side are DOUBLES. If your kids are big kids, plan accordingly.
