I would not recommend this resort. We stayed multiple days, no amenities was offered or provided when asked. No towels was given until our last day. My credit card was charged without my authorization, when asked for explanation none was given. Back from vacation 2 weeks now and still no refund given for unauthorized charge. Not worth the price at all. Parking was horrible for resort guests.

As the oldest hotel on PCB, the Chateau's mid-century modern look holds up and is well maintained. The pool deck is perfect with ample seating and umbrellas. Access to beach is exceptional and the Tiki Bar was a great & fun bonus.

Our room was upgraded, clean and comfortable. We had a king sized bed with a bedroom balcony. In the separate living room we had a sofa sleeper, cushion chair, a table and chairs and a second balcony. Both balconies look out at the gulf. There also was a full kitchen with new appliances. The staff was pleasant and very friendly and helpful. Being right on the beach, the location could not have been better. Walking distance to several great restaurants made it convenient.

Check in was a little hectic it was all digital done on the smartphone. The commode in the bathroom would not flush on first use. Maintenance did come and work on it. Still didn’t work right. It would flush sometime but wouldn’t every time without a lot of plunging with a weak plunger. Had a few cockroaches mostly baby ones. Kitchen with 1 pan very few other items. Hate to give anyone a bad report but it is what it is.

We loved everything about our stay. The only thing we didn't like was checking in, it took forever one person answering questions for guest that had already checked in, while having people checking in having to download stuff to fill out that should have been on their computers already. Then having to scan to be able to get free parking, which they take out of your checking account along with a 150.00 deposit that neither was on the web site. That could really hurt some people.

We had no air conditioning. Room was atleast 80. Requested help and maintenance was sent and all he did was pull off front of machine and brush off years of dust and had the nerve to say it was working because it was on. We requested help, maybe a fan but front desk was absolutely no help and we had to suffer the entire night. When I spoke to management the next morning she was simply just as rude as if I was just crazy. I have never seen such rude and unacomadating staff ever. It was a pure nightmare ontop of booking a balcony with ocean view and receiving a balcony thay was blocked by the building and smelled like someone died because it was so dirty and disgusting. I wouldnt stay at this hotel if it was free ever again. I was not compensated in any way and plan to call the better business over the conditions. The air we had to breathe in from that ac system that didnt work was absolutely disgusting and entirely unexceptable. Never again. Be warned book elsewhere. Not worth $1.

Where do I start? The roach infestation? The spaghetti on the walls? The ac that BARELY worked? The toilet that you had to plunge in order to get it to kind of flush? How about the sink that wouldn’t drain? Maybe the $100 we spent on cleaning supplies to make it bearable for our July 4th weekend stay? If it wasn’t for the view of the fireworks, this trip would have been an absolute disaster. I haven’t felt this grossed out since I was a child staying at the Mark 2/3 and there were rats running around our room when we slept. If everything else wasn’t sold out for the holiday weekend, we would have left and booked elsewhere. I can’t believe I made my family stay through the weekend on this property. I’ve felt cleaner camping in the woods with no toilet or shower available(surrounded by insects and bugs of all kinds). If it’s a “By The Sea” property then it ain’t for me. You’d be better off staying at any other property in town, I promise you. We go to the beach every other weekend almost during the warmer months, and this is the only place I will NEVER, EVER consider staying at again. IT IS THAT BAD! It was a roach nursery in that place. We had to walk to the office to use the bathroom our entire stay. It was gross. I don’t know how else I can put it. GROSS. And I’m someone who can make due in a bad situation but this place pushed me to my limit. They shouldn’t take a security deposit. The roaches will steal things and they’ll blame it on you.

The location, a beautiful beach view and easy beach access was the best part of this stay.

The service, the housekeeping attendant was genuinely kind, helpful, and generous with towels and what we needed. Unfortunately the front desk staff were unwelcoming and rude. Tricia at the bar was a bright spot and gave excellent service.

The room, this was the biggest disappointment. The bathtub had mold stains, missing caulking, tub and sink pools doesn’t drain well. Floors were dirty tons of sand with debris under the bed and sink. The stove had dried ketchup that was never cleaned. There was sand in the bed and stained pillows, and the room didn’t even have a door. On the plus side, the balcony kitchenette was a nice touch with plates, cups, and utensils included.

The building, is old, a little run down, has no elevators, or working luggage carts. Parking is included with your stay as it should be.

Overall, I would not recommend this stay or stay here again and could appreciate someone’s genuine experience.

We had an ok stay. Location was great. I didn’t realize I had booked beachfront room until later in our stay and we got poolside room. Did not know there was ADA ramp till half way through our stay. As we had a very difficult time taking luggage up and down stairs upon arrival. We had to make several trips up and down the stairs. On one occasion my husband ran into a staff member who saw him struggling with taking stuff down. did not offer to help. Just ask if he was tired. and with no other instruction of a ramp or anything like that !The only thing is there is only one ramp on the opposite side of where we stayed. Was very difficult to take luggage cart across hotel and into parking lot to leave. I think rooms needs to have a map or QR code with one to help with finding things and not have to roam around to find places. Also directions to our room were very vague. Went to what I thought was our room and our room was around the corner. Pool area was what’s one of the Bright spots in our day. other than the pool area being closed at 9 each night. We would have loved to sit out at the lounge chair area at night. But the cleanliness of this was lackluster due to the fact cigarette buts pistachio shells and even a liquor bottle scattered throughout a sitting area. Room was very small. Only mini fridge with barley a freezer. No ice maker. Bathroom smelled moldy. No outside chairs. Most other rooms had outside chairs outside their rooms. Do not recommended staying.

Excellent location. Loved being directly on the beach. Pool was huge. Room was basic nothing special. The worst part was front desk. It took us 4 tries in addition to walking up to the front desk to get bedding for the sofa bed. Then we forgot something in the room when we were checking out and the lady at the front desk acted like I was disturbing her by asking for a key to get back into our room that we had literally just walked out of. Overall would recommend but don't expect top tier service.

We were booked for 5 nights and left after the 3rd night.
When we arrived on the 27th around 4:30, we walked into an uncleaned room. It had dirty towels on the floor, dirty beds and garbage. We had to wait about an hour for the room to be cleaned. The manager did give us two free drink vouchers for the tiki bar.
The sheets on our bed were too small, coming off and VERY rough. I could see the dirty mattress protector on the entire side of the mattress because the sheet did not fit. The second night I noticed what appeared to be mold on the end of our blanket.
I asked the girl at the front desk on the first night if we could have an extra blanket and sheet for the pull-out couch; she hardly looked up from her phone and we never got the extra linens. We also had asked her for extra towels and did not get those. I approached the cleaning staff at the pool and he brought some to me.
We booked a Gulf view double queen suite without the kitchen so we could have the additional “living room”. The fabric couch had what appeared to be mold spots and the pull out bed was unusable.
The bathroom and “kitchen area” were clean. We loved that it was a smaller hotel and did not have to use elevators, and a very short walk to the beach. Had the staff been more helpful and our bed more clean/comfortable we would return.

It is free if a guest. But a unnecessary step we have to do.and They have a lot of hidden fees that you're not aware of .Checked out this morning same rude . The beds were bad they needed new mattresses they were broke down and you couldn't move without a cracking and popping . Taking a shower the water backed up into the bathroom sink.I Let the lady know today and she acted like it was my fault. Pool was nice. Outside of the area was nice. The rooms are overpriced considering the condition of the property and the limited amenities provided. The parking situation was difficult, although I do appreciate that parking was free.

The biggest concern was the cleanliness. Many areas inside and outside the hotel appeared unsanitary, and we even saw roaches in our room. The bed was fairly comfortable, but that alone wasn’t enough to make up for the overall experience.

The only real highlight was the location, as the hotel is right on the beach. Unfortunately, because of the cleanliness issues, poor service, and misleading photos, we would not stay here again

The room was nicer than expected based on the exterior appearance of the place. Bed was pretty comfortable and it wasn’t as noisy as I was expecting. The floor was sort of slippery as though it was sweating or something and that was aggravating. Also the listing is misleading as it makes you think beach chairs are included, but they are not. The motel provides nothing like that and you have to rent them from a third party. Would not have stayed here if they had not misrepresented that in the listing so that was a big disappointment. Fortunately we were only there for one day. Also, the check in process is way too complicated and takes way too long even when you have already prepaid through Expedia. They acted stupid about checking out as well instead of just having a quick way to drop off the room key and leave.

Do not go here . Front desk lady was rude , No elevator and old concrete stairs to go up and down 4 floors . Ceiling was falling in over sink in bathroom , shower needs new remodel - crusty and old . There was a fingernail left in floor of bathroom . One word to sum it up - Yuck

The best thing about this property is the staff. The rooms are very dated and in rough condition. Our first room was so bad we said move us or lose us. We had booked 3 nights. The electronic check in with your cell phone was a pain in the rear. Thank goodness for the staff at the front desk. No phone in the room, no towels in the bathroom because there is no towel bar, the toilet is about 12 inches off the floor and the shower tubs have no grab bars. Yes we’re and older couple but please grab bars are not just for us. 4 floors and no elevator. I knew this when I booked. What I didn’t know was that the room I booked (beachfront) was two levels down from parking and the office. The beach out front and view are great. The location is great. If you don’t care about the rest then this is the place for you. You get what you pay for. 3 nights with all fees and taxes a little over $988.

This is our go to place every time we come to PCB. We usually stay 2-3 times a year. It’s very convenient to shopping, restaurants, and the beach is literally out your door. We have been coming to the Chateau for 3+ years now and will continue to book with them.

The property was okay. We visited this same hotel last year, but last year was much better. This year when we arrived at the hotel, we had to have someone come clean our room because it was not acceptable. The tv in our room was terrible, only picking up a few networks and not one of them being kids channel (which my children were not pleased with.) Last year, the bar/pool had live music on the weekend and the pool stayed open pretty late. This year, no live music and they started shutting the pool down at 8:30 pm. Also newly added to the hotel was the option for people who were not guests to Pay to Park, taking up most of the parking spots and leaving guests to park in the overflow across the street. For the price people are having to pay for something this mediocre, something needs to be done. Other than ALLLL of that, the view was nice. Will definitely be staying somewhere else from now on.

The tiki bar was very convenient with surprisingly good food for a reasonable price. The view from our room was great, and the beachfront location was wonderful. However, i probably wouldn't book a room here again. The room was clean-ish. Dirty baseboards and outside of oven, but not horrible. The amenities were almost non-existent. I paid extra to have a kitchen, but there was only one baking sheet with no other pots or pans. Don't plan on actually being able to cook anything. It was nice to have dishes available, although there was only one lone fork included. Bring your own Shampoo, soap, lotion, etc., because even though the pictures show pump bottles in the shower (and at other By the Sea Resort locations they ARE available) the only thing they give you here is a a tiny, travel-sized bottle, and it is difficult to get more from housekeeping. We stayed 6 nights and just ended up buying some from a nearby store. Bedding and pillows were cheap and worn. You can't beat the price for a beachfront stay, but I will gladly pay more somewhere else for a more comfortable stay.

The room wasn't clean, mold in the shower and sink, food left in the fridge and used soap open on the sink. The floors were dirty when we got there and not cleaned once during our stay over several days. we asked for more towels bc we stayed several days and they never brought them and took our old ones after the first day. The exit signs at the bottom of the stairwell was broken. They didn't have any signs saying when thing opened or closed. They didn't leave an ice bucket so we used cups. They had no elevators. Other than that the stay was ok. Beds were comfy. Everyone was friendly.

The staff was friendly. The room had a great view. Very easy access to the beach. The room was OK. They have a roach problem in the room and stained sheets. It was addressed. Not really ADA accessible

We picked this location purely for convenience to the beach. Be prepared for a dated building with rooms they have tried to update but are minimum at best.

Checking in was a breeze and the day/ afternoon front desk staff was lovely. The room itself was fantastic, and the beachfront location was exactly what we were looking for. We stayed on the third floor and had an amazing ocean view from our room. Being just one floor above the pool and only a short walk to the beach made everything very convenient. The on-site Tiki Bar was also a great bonus for grabbing drinks and a bite to eat while relaxing by the water.

Unfortunately, the parking situation significantly impacted our stay. There simply is not enough parking available for the number of guests at the property. One evening, after going out for a late dinner, we returned to find that both the on-site parking lot and the designated overflow lot across the street were completely full.

When I went to the front desk for assistance, the night shift employee immediately responded with an attitude and insisted there was “plenty” of parking available in the overflow lot. She then walked me across the street only to point out areas between palm trees and alongside the access road as places to park. When I explained that those were not actual marked parking spaces, I was told to “figure it out” because “no one else complains about it.”

For a hotel where guests are spending hundreds of dollars per stay, the possibility of returning after dark and having nowhere legitimate to park is unacceptable. At a minimum, this should be disclosed during check-in so guests can plan accordingly.
