The pictures from the site do not match what the place looks like. The pictures make the place look amazing but in person theres alot to be desired. Staff was awesome thought could call and they answer right away. The bed was very comfortable. It has alot of potential. Very close to all kinda fun stuff

The toilet had poop in it when we arrived and the bed sheets had stains on them. It looks like they were trying to renovate but never completed it so the hotel isn’t very well put together. The front desk receptionist was nice but wasn’t available to accommodate at all times.

Property's photos were very deceiving, hotel was ran down and not well kept. Parking was super limited. It felt a little sketchy and I didn't feel safe. The staff was ok but seemed bothered when we requested a refund to terminate our stay. We stayed 1 night and booked another location for the rest of our stay.

3 stars because it’s old and spot repaired but ok!

Average and you can tell they really are trying very hard to make it a good experience within the confines of a very limited budget. Staff was awesome! To be where it is so close to the beach at the price it was then I say awesome deal. They really make sure the no smoking is enforced. It wasn’t until the day we were checking out you had some nerd smoking the funny cigarettes and invading everyone’s breathing space. Others obeyed the rules and smoked in the proper areas.

Really great service in terms of the reception-- so friendly/warm and helpful! There is a little store there, too, with things you might need/might have forgotten, and they can make daiquiris for you (with or without alcohol).

The rooms are VERY basic. Floors not clean enought for me to walk comfortably barefoot (I would recommend bringing flip-flops), but shower etc. was clean and the bed was clean. No blankets; just a single top-sheet. The common area (pool etc) inside the Lodge is pretty.

The best thing about this motel is the location. It is right across the street from the beach, but for a budget price. Cute coffeehouse next door with good breakfast. No, you cannot see the beach as it is blocked by the high rise in front, but you can walk right across the street and you are there. The water is wonderful in this part of Florida-- clear with a turquoise/emerald hue and white sand. Wonderful to swim in!

I would love to get a refund, at least a partial one! Let me just say, the pictures in no way matches the hotel. The place is dirty and run down. They had 3 window unit ACs that were placed into the walls. It was HOT the entire stay. There is no microwave, coffee maker, soap, TP. No comforter or blanket on the beds, just fitted and flat sheet. There were no towels at all. I called down to let the staff know and then had to walk down and pick them up myself. The room had not been cleaned, even though we were told we couldn't check in 30 mins early because they were still cleaning it. The door had previously been kicked in and hasn't very secured. The bathroom door was one of those folding shutter doors with no lock. Bathroom was filthy. Big dining table for 6 but the only thing in the kitchen was a makeshift counter top with a tiny sink and a beverage cooler and small mini frigde. No cups, no paper towels, no ice machine to get ice from. For 2 nights, I paid $405, I would not recommend anyone staying here. A staff member told us that the owner knows they get horrible reviews but they don't care. Was told this when we had to call down to get someone to come kill the ants crawling around on the counter top. I was so disappointed. Please stay anywhere else. The pool was cloudy and has fake grass mat all around it with trash everywhere and I'm sure so many germs in that fake turf. There were no cushions for large loungers they have. I'd give 0 stars if possible. Not as portray

We felt very catfished by the lovely photos of this “resort.” The chairs by the pool were completely torn up and most didn’t even have cushions. The floors in the room were filthy, I needed to wear flip flops 24/7. The beds are just a sheet set, no blanket. We asked the front desk for a blanket and they gave us a mattress pad/cover. The bathroom was the dirtiest of all. The tv was maybe 32 inches and we didn’t have a remote. The pictures were very very deceiving. Also we had to wear bracelets to be on the property which we found weird for somewhere that didn’t resemble a resort in the slightest. No visitor hours or visitors allowed at all. The staff however was very friendly which was nice.

Terrible. We are from Tennessee and stayed here for 2 hours. Absolutely a nightmare. Needless to say the fire marshall and code enforcement paid them a visit. The owner lady was super nice but no blankets on the beds and apparently this happens to all guests, ant infestation, refrigerator broken and food spoiled, door wouldn’t close to lock, extension chords running through the floor because outlets didn’t work and sparks fly when you plug in phone, etc. and pool was green and unusable. No parking!!! Please be aware this is not just a hotel it’s a bar!!!! They also told me I would be refunded but then wouldn’t answer the request from Expedia! Luckily I was still in town and went to the office and videoed the owner and pleaded with her and she accepted the refund request immediately. Please note you will have to pressure them to receive a refund!!! I would submit pictures but it won’t let me!!!! No lights worked in our unit. It was the suite #143. Terrible!!!!!

We stayed here for 2 nights as our halfway mark home from a trip in the keys. Positives: staff is very nice & it’s right across the street from beach access so you get that closeness without paying beachfront prices. Negatives … it’s more of a rundown motel vibe and the other guests tracked with that. Drunk parents with screaming baybay kids in the pool all hours of the night, the room was absolutely disgusting. And there are no blankets. Like, they only make the beds with a fitted and flat sheet. Never seen that before. All the furniture at the pool is broken. It does have an outside shower to rinse off when you get back from the beach so that’s good. It definitely needs a deep clean though. There is not kitchen in the unit so I was very surprised to find a frying pan in the bathroom but the more I looked around, the less surprised I was. lol.

The location was nice. But the room for the price. First off waited longer for a room. Then got the room and there was no light in the ceiling, no microwave, no coffee maker, and one hand towel. Then the bedding consider of a fitted sheet and flat sheet. No ice maker and for it to be in a great location let just say ghetto sums it up. First night someone walked up to us asking us if we were in a certain room… watched and listen to women arguing. Second night it was a couple arguing upstairs. It was just not a place that as a mother I would want my kids to be again. There was a woman walking around half naked like a woman of the night. Grown man screaming in the pool. It just wasn’t my best experience. But I see most people say you get what you pay for. I need to know there price per night lol. 300 a night I expect a lot more then that.

Disappointing misled stay - would not recommend

Our experience at this hotel was extremely disappointing. The room looked nothing like the pictures advertised online — it felt like we had walked into a completely different place. When we arrived, we discovered there were no blankets, no soap, and not even a toilet paper holder in the bathroom.

We asked the front desk for blankets and were told they would bring them, but no one ever followed through, which made our stay even more uncomfortable. The floors looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in ages, and there was only one usable outlet near the bed— very inconvenient for charging devices or using any electronics.

We expected at least the basic necessities and a clean, functional space, but unfortunately, those expectations were not met. Overall, we were very dissatisfied with our visit and would not recommend this hotel to others.

We stayed here for one night in the quadruple room. We were told that there were 4 queen beds but there was 3 queen beds and a set of bunk beds. You can tell they are updating the room but half of the outlets and lights did not work. We saw a few baby roaches. The floors were dirty. We liked the table in the kitchen area and the sitting room. The pool area was nice but nothing like the pictures. The patio furniture was missing cushions.

What a shame.

Booked a double queen with bunk beds with Hotels.com, received a double queen. After being on the phone for 3 hours hotels told me it was my fault for looking at the pictures instead of reading fine print. Myself and 4 others had to sleep in two beds, the entire area was booked for my dates. The hotel refused to clean rooms and only gave fresh towels if i called the desk. I had to get a broom and clean myself. They will bring a garbage bag but wont change the garbage. The pool was cloudy and had hair and fake grass and lint floating in it. Just a huge petri dish. Ive stayed here for 7 years but the new owners ruined it. Flat old dirty pillows but a hard brand new mattress. You get a sheet on your bed but if you ask for a blanket you get a throw. Lighting is very poor inside. Wifi froze every few minutes so watching tv was impossible without my hotspot for the roku. No microwave. I travel a lot but will never use hotels again and wont stay at this property. The only good thing about it was decent air conditioning, no bugs and hot showers.

Well I got there late but communicated with front desk several times before driving over 2 hours and to get there and get a key to a Room where someone else was Already staying was kinda Dangerous,Then went back to front it was close so me n my kid sat in Car to finally see the guy come back up front after knocking on window he finally comes then he was saying it had to be a mistake but during this time a guy come in and stated he was waiting on his Room also so then the guy tells me he’s sorry but they don’t have anymore Rooms so I had to drive over 2 hours back home, and wasn’t any kinda accommodating me only a Refund and a Apology very Disappointed

First off I want to say staff was very kind and helpful when asked. There is a lot of work needing done. Cleaning could be better but I am OCD. The sink had a slow drain but eventually would drain. The beds need to have blakests guys not everyone brings blankets ...we did so we were fine. All in all I felt safe and it was a place to lay our head. Hurricane Micheal turned Panama City upside down. I did see them working on the old lobby so I feel next time may be a better stay as far as cleanliness because they do seem to be working on the property and that takes time and money. If you are boujee go somewhere else...... If you don't mind a bit of outdated things you will enjoy. We chose fun over fancy. THERE WAS NO BUGS and I think we even stayed by a permanent tenant who were a very nice family with children. God bless them!

We had a good time at this establishment. The rooms were fairly clean but lacked usable garment storage during our stay. The air conditioner above our room was dripping water on to the entry door to our room. This was very aggravating. All-in-all, the office personnel and staff were very friendly and helpful, but the repairs done to fix the air conditioning, were substandard, effective, but not correct.

There was only two beds, no night stand and one unplugged upright lamp. The TV was ridiculously small. It didn't qualify as a hotel room. The foreign desk clerk was hard to understand.
I went straight back to the front desk and handed him the key and paperwork, telling him I couldn't stay there- it didn't even look like a hotel, and walked out.
I doubt I can get a refund, and will think twice about using Expedia again. So disappointed.

The front desk worker was nice and let us check in early. It’s very confusing on how to get in and find your room as you have to walk down a dingy hallway to get in. The room was alright. The TV was a size of a computer monitor so I wasn’t a fan.. the only thing that saved the trip for me was how comfortable the bed was! Also. Make sure to bring your own comforter as you only get a top sheet, no blanket. Overall, it was alright just for the night but this wouldn’t be my top choice. Just thankful it was in walking distance to the beach!

The people that were working there were nice. The office was stocked with drinks and snacks which was great. They had a pool table and a bar. Across the road from the beach. I didn',t like the artificial turf around the pool. It was gross and the water was super hot like a hot tub. Not hot from sunshine hot. Hate getting a room with a pool I can't swim in. Didn't get a blanket on the bed. Just a sheet which was weird the floor is tile and felt greasy. Had to wear shoes the whole time. Parking is very small strip. The place run down and needs a lot of work. Not worth 200 bucks a night!!!!!

This is the cheapest room we could find so close to the beach. I wasn’t expecting much. The front desk employee was very accommodating. We were missing towel and blankets. There had a mishap with the maids. A couple other rooms were missing towels as well but the manager came later and restocked them.
Our room was not swept but everything else seemed clean. There is no microwave but there’s a community one by the office. The outdoor space is nice, it had a lot of action going on on the front street but the community area felt safe. I’ve definitely experienced worse. But of course, better as well. For the price compared to the others is was what we needed, a safe place to sleep and shower.

Very misleading nothing I could picture showed had to walk more than 500 ft each way to get to the beach cool was never cleaned out the whole time we was there hair other things floating on top of the water bathroom door half torn off he had to tiptoe to get to the bathroom sink has a homemade basing no microwave no coffee maker $100 deposit extra that was not mentioned when I got there but like I said if you go by the pictures they show very misleading shouldn't be allowed to be a law against it

Hotel is extremely run down. Room was covered in sand including the bed. TV had wires hanging out of it and the whole outlet for the TV was ripped out of the wall. The shower was stained and also filled with sand. When I requested a refund the staff dismissed the idea and then continued to try to sell how great the hotel was. After working with Hotels.com I was able to get a refund for 1 night but as of writing this the hotel has not given me my security deposit back. I would not stay here unless it is absolutely necessary. STAY AWAY.

Room is so small and the whole area of the property seems like it was already condemned. The photos are so misleading. I felt unsafe and disgusted. First room had a fire ant infestation. So I moved a room. Second room had roaches. So I got a full refund thankfully and left. Only upside was the staff was friendly and kind and prompt to give me a refund and work with me to change rooms when I first did that. Not even worth adding photos. Just don’t stay there.

we had a lot of fun staying here. it’s really close to a lot of fun activities. it was nice being in walking distance from a few restaurants and a bar. the place is definitely not the cleanest, but it’s good for the price. it’s definitely a party hotel as there was a pool table, foosball, twister and some beer pong, but me and my boyfriend are in our 20s so it was great for us. the staff was great and i love that there is a convince store in the office! we would definitely stay here again.

Banana Peel lodge was the perfect getaway stay. The staff was friendly and helpful. I enjoyed the beer pong table and pool area. Staying at BPL was relaxing. We didnt have to worry about a crowded hotel full of your average PCB seasonal beach goers. The house mom was sweet and sassy like an auntie we all have. I will say that the people up front were very nice and kind when I did check in and check out. When I first arrived, i honestly had no clue where I was going when my map told me that the hotel was right in front of me so when I walked in, I thought it was a small gas station store only to realize it was my hotel since I saw the logo. Got checked in, went to go find my room and the outside didn’t look like any of the photos I saw online. Not going to lie, was kind of scared. Got to my room, it was decent so I won’t complain about that, just wish I had a blanket to sleep with because there was only a sheet.
I will say, the second night I stayed there, there was a fight right outside my room and there was a lot of yelling and someone hit my door at 2 in the morning and the yelling didn’t stop for 20 minutes. It was a good thing I was leaving the next morning to head home.

The property doesn’t look anything like what they portray on their website or on Expedia it looks as if it’s a location where people stay for extra long periods of time. The room has one light and it’s only above the door and a very small lamp. I turned the tv on and it didn’t work went to tell the man at the front ( which was very nice) he was unable to do anything an anyone that could would be only able to at 7am. I was not happy with this due now I’m really stuck with staying at this motel it is not a lodge of any sort the name is very misleading. It is a motel and it looks as if i was a seedy type of motel at one point. Aside from the dimly lit room and no comforter or blanket on the beds. The employees were nice. The employees did not have any factor into my scoring it’s based off the fact the place doesn’t look anything like the pictures they have on their website. Had I seen actual pictures of the motel I would have NEVER spent my money on that room. 180.00 is way to much to spend on that type of room with no amenities what so ever.

This is a great low budget hotel for anyone who is just trying to sleep nights in their room and enjoy the rest of their day at the beach close by! Overall not a bad location! A little extra sanitizing on your part and you’ll feel like home! Nice pool as well.

Good but limited parking

Everything was okay except the parking. We checked in on a Saturday and although they advertise free parking, parking was very limited. There are more rooms than there are parking spaces. We had to park in a tow zone the first day there but eventually got to move our car to the hotels parking lot.

Worst place ever

The nastiest place I've ever seen. The cleaning people do not do there job at all. Staff was friendly but none of them enforced the rules at the pool or through out the hotel. Not recommended for a family at all. Not enough parking. Only thing keeping this place open is the location. Need to bulldoze down the whole establishment and start over.

WARNING!! DO NOT STAY HERE!! The pics of the property and rooms are a LIE! The place is a dump! If the worst Super8 and the worst Motel6 had a baby it would be The banana peel! No toilet paper, no bedding, sticky dirty floors, roaches, no hangers, no coffee, terrible bed and crack heads living there! We left and got a refund. Can’t believe Expedia does business with this place! I took pics, wish I could post them here!

Rooms are extremely outdated parking was a nightmare. Rooms were not very clean the floors were dirty upon check-in house keeping didn’t even check on us for towels etc had to go ask for toilet paper and a blanket for the bed

Do NOT stay here!!

A large group partied and played loud music until well after 3:00am!! Management did nothing to quiet the volume. It was impossible to muffle the noise due to the large ‘crack’ under the door. Smoke from the fire pit drifted in the room even with a towel stuffed in the door crack. Music was so loud even the wall air conditioner and TV could not drown out the party.

The concrete outside the rooms was in desperate need of repairs. Rooms are very old and need renovation. Refrigerator did not work. But even worse, the floor tile was dirty and not clean.

Would not stay here again even if the rooms were free!!

Not worth the money we spend.

Very spacious, comfortable king size beds, wine fridge and regular fridge. The floors were damaged and sticky. Liked that there were no carpets in the three rooms. No microwave or stove top, no closets. Rooms were not sound proof, very noisy day and night. Even smelled marijuana in our room from outside smoking from other guests. Toilet room too small, would have been better not to have wall around it. The controls for both TVs did not work well. Complimentary coffee. Pool & bar room.
