The one ply toilet paper - yuck. So we went to stored and bought 3 ply. Not enough towels for all, we brought ours anyways.
Dishes in cupboard were dirty. We cleaned all in dishwasher to discover it does. It work well and hand washed them all.

We had 2 additional guests, which I cleared ahead of time. Additional parking passes are not possible (1 per unit). We were told they could park across the road in a shopping strip parking area. However, there is not overnight parking allowed there with threat of being towed. Parking at Cdn Rock Chalets without a pass is also by threat of towing. Where do our guests park overnight ? No other option was given.
The fireplace was attended to twice by very courteous maintenance staff, but would not remain working after they left.
The tv remote was on the blink due to low batteries. Luckily I had batteries in a night light I had brought.

This is a shame as Canmore is such a nice place to stay. We have been going there a couple of times a year for basically decades for golf trips, but it is so busy now the places we have always stayed in the past became either impossible to book or are simply outrageously expensive. But this place had everything it said it would, was clean, comfy beds, good kitchen, and they communicated directions well. Only downfall is that is it right next to the train tracks and they go through at least 3 times in the middle of the night, and if you are sleeping you almost certainly will be woken up. Not the properties fault at all, just a warning to plan ahead with some earplugs if you are a light sleeper at all.

Unit is a okay, cleanliness as expected, good for the family. Reasonable price, quite and no smoking is the best part of it. So good to stay in the place like this that you will not smell cannabis or even tobacco.

The location of the property was great. As a rule when ever we go to Canmore we try to book at the Canadian Rockies complex. This unit however was fairly disappointing. The floor hadn’t been cleaned when we go there all the dishes were still in the dishwasher which is confusing when there is a cleaning fee. Additionally none of the bathroom doors had locks which is awkward when staying with multiple friends. Finally the lock situation was disappointing, the unit had two keys which was a pain when only a couple of the group wanted head back, it meant people had to head back and do a key swap. In the past we have stayed in units with either a lock box or keypad entry which works better for a long group.

During our stay we discovered cigarette butts on the patio (supposed to be nonsmoking unit), blood splatters on the bathroom wall/door and blood stains on the sheets. As well, the advertisement states that there is 1 king bed, 1 queen bed, 1 double bed and 1 double sofa bed. This is false as both beds outside of the master are doubles. With the false bed size and the unsanitary discovers we checked out early due to being uncomfortable in the space

Very nice and clean condo in Canmore. I stayed there several times and it was always noise from upstairs. This time it was really quiet. I think that is because they introduced a fine for noise violation. Thank you the condo board for taking care of tourists.

Overall all our stay was just ok. Property is good however paper thin floors had us awake extremely early both days due to three kids and their parents running around stomping, dragging furniture, dropping things and yelling and screaming. Pretty much all day this is what we heard. When booking make sure you ask for top floor accomodations.

There was a limited amount of space for clothing as there was only one dresser in a two bedroom unit, but there was lots of place to hang clothes . The unit was perfect for family weekend trip. Price was right and everyone had there own bedroom. Beds were very comfortable and loved we were allowed to bring our dog. They provided two large fans for the bedrooms which was nice as it did get quite warm in the condo. The train passing through the night was slightly bothersome to the light sleepers. If you aren’t concerned with cleanliness the place is great. But we had dirt and garbage in the beds, food on floors and human excrement on the back of the bathroom door. One of the toilets ran, remote control batteries were dead to mention a couple other issues. We thought it might have just been one bad room, but we had rented two units. The second had screws in the bed and similar cleanliness problems. They were very responsive to our concerns, but there we so many it wasn’t just someone missing something. This property has so much potential, but management needs to address the many issues before we could recommend anyone stay there.

Overall the room was perfect for our stay ample room, great location, was easy to get anywhere,having the kitchen allowed us to enjoy our morning coffee and breakfast before heading out for the day……our room was getting a little worn, but for the great price it’s to be expected……warning if your a light sleeper make sure you as for a room road side, the back rooms back onto the train tracks and it gets pretty loud. We travel with 2 medium sized dogs and this resort makes it a very easy stay.

The space was large for the price. Services are minimal with no one on site. The facility asked us to disinfect at the end of our stay, which did not inspire confidence in my opinion. In these times I would prefer that disinfecting be completed by trained staff. All in all, I’d happily stay there again.

Big disappointment.
The 2 bedroom condo was situated on a ground level however on one side it was below stairs, condo had a view of concrete wall and it was very dark . The bedrooms side was facing train trucks maybe 20/30 feet from window. One of sliding balcony doors did not close. The train was going every few minutes it was extremely loud and nither i or my son could sleep at all. the couch in the living room was unusable it might have been recently reapolstered or fixed it was extremely high and extremely hard very very uncomfortable, the kitchen had minimum utensils small appliances nothing was matching there wasn't even a fruit bowl or a mixing spatula. I found the place to be very outdated Extremely uncomfortable Dark Small. We booked 2 nights but stayed one. When I called to give feedback to a call agent at the hotel and tell them we won't be staying another night she didn't do anything for us not that I asked but there was no response except okay.

The property was fine and faced the mountains. The unit is dated and needs upgrading. The fridge made a loud bang after it switched off, furnace was loud and no sound proofing what so ever. Both nights the upstairs guests thumped around till well after 2 in the morning. You could hear them talking and walking etc.

The chalet we rented was generally very clean and well-equipped with all basic kitchen supplies needed to prepare meals for a weekend getaway. The dining room furniture (seating for 6) was large for the space and dining chairs sat low in relation to the table, so a bit uncomfortable. Would recommend additional signage on the waste and recycling sheds as it was not immediately clear where the two different sheds were located. Overall though a nice location to stay while enjoying the mountains.

Do not book if you can’t handle the heat in summer since there is no air-conditioner and the 2 fans they provide for 3 bedroom accommodation don’t help. Also, this is right next to a busy railway track so if you’re a light sleeper, you’ll be up ALL night. Overall pricey for what’s included in the stay.

We stayed in a Bear Den room, these rooms are on the lower level and you can hear absolutely everything from the room above. The cleanliness of our room was not very good. There was no air conditioning and the bed in the pull out couch was very uncomfortable. If it wasn't for the train tracks the property would be in a good location in Canmore as most things are within walking distance.

Had the all the basics we needed inc full size fridge freezer & cooker. Cleanliness wasn't the best. Train line backs right onto back of property where the bedrooms are Considerably overpriced but the excuse of it being peak season (August) will be used.

We had a ground floor with a back patio which had lawn chairs supplied. Nice a relaxing. Bed was really comfortable. This place is just a short walk away from a bunch of different restaurants as well.

There was lots of parking and there were lots of towels. However there were no dishes there to cook or use. I also thought i was getting a room with a loft and i didn't so be careful making sure you know what room your getting...

Unit was accessed from individual entrances. Great for physical distancing. We were assigned a basement unit which was very cool during the hot weather. Overheard from other customers that the upper units were very warm, as there is no AC at the property.

The Railroad Retreat at the Canadian Rockies Chalets is a good, cost effective option s for family stays in Canmore. Like any property, there are some pros and cons. The place itself is in a good location along the main route of Canmore, close to some great restaurants and quick access to and from the highway. The one take away is that the train runs DIRECTLY behind the unit and can be very loud!
The unit is quite large and all the rooms are good size (not huge, but good for vacation where you don't spend much time anyways). Important to note that the 'master' bedroom is open to the living room below (not a full wall on one side). The unit is a bit dated (old cabinets, old flooring) but for a rental it's not too bad. One big takeway from our stay is there is no air conditioning and it was very hot in this unit. It probably doesn't matter except for the hot summer we are having in Alberta currently.

Great property, location and convenient. Because of COVID I needed to pack countless extras which came in handy for they were not supplied. Cookie sheet, paper towels, s&p, sanitizer, etc. All floors were dirty and sticky to the bare feet confirming they don’t get washed. I couldn’t even do it for nothing was supplied for us to do it. Nice to have 2 patios because of the heat we encountered this week. Comfy beds and enough towels. JP was very helpful in lending us extra fans. Would recommend staying there.

Nice place to stay in Canmore. Big enough to accomodate big group. However, it has no AC as states in the listing. We stayed during heat wave and it was unbelievably hot. We were not able to sleep until midnight when it finally started to cool down.

This was a great unit, with outdoor space for kids! Overall great floor plan but some furnishings and appliances were very tired, about 10-15 minute walk to downtown, great services close by, pharmacy, liquor store convenience store. Train does go by many times, it is not to bad when windows are closed but very load when outside. We did enjoy our stay, will stay again!
