Strict check in and out times however allowed to park before check in time which was helpful. Didn’t see any staff for the most part and they seem to have a fully digital system.
The air conditioning was extremely loud so disturbed sleep. Shower was weak too which was disappointing.

Self check in only issue was we got a text to put a parking pass in our car but we didn’t have one in room and when we texted that back we didn’t get a response. Love that you can fully check in online, and not have to mess with keys, remembering keys when you leave, etc. Booked the dog friendly room, and my dog was fully comfortable and happy. Was a little weird that there's no closet or rack to hang up any clothes though. Great location on Canmore's main street, with lots of shops and restaurants within walking distance.
Our one negative is that the hot tub was not open, as that is a big part of why we booked this hotel. It would have been nice to receive communication about that before our stay, as it is the only amenity offered, outside of the room stay.

The door handle to our room ran out of batteries and we were locked outside, but the manager ran up and gave us a key for the remainder of our stay. The bed is comfy, sheets and towels were clean. We knew it was a motel and the price was super reasonable so we didn’t have high expectations but we were pleasantly surprised. There are no extras but for the price and the cleanliness we were happy! FYI there is an ice machine at the front desk and even though we didn’t use it, the hot tub looked decent.

When we arrived our room was mostly clean, minus you could tell they didn’t wipe surfaces down as there was makeup marks all over the counters I the bathroom.
The only downside to our stay was if you’re a light sleeper, the walls are quite thin, you hear all activity outside your room and the fact that they say there is Parking (1 stall per group) but there isn’t. So if you go out at night and you’re driving you aren’t likely to get a parking spot so you have to street park.
All around though, I would definitely stay here again

Great location in Canmore. Rooms were dark and noisy. Could hear every footstep of guests walking on the second floor. The building itself also made a lot of noises. Couch wasn’t very comfortable. The room blew a fuse when using the blow drier. If you’re not going to be in the room a lot it’s a decent place to sleep if you aren’t a light sleeper. Their shuttle service to the spa was very handy.

Our check-in experience was frustrating. We arrived at 3:00 PM during a winter storm and asked for an early check-in. The front desk told us housekeeping wasn't finished and they would \"let us know\" if it opened up before 4:00 PM.
However, we were parked right outside our room and actually spoke with the housekeeping staff, who told us the room was completely ready. We watched the door for the next hour; no one entered or exited, yet the electronic lock remained disabled until exactly 4:00 PM. I would have much preferred a straightforward \"Our policy is 4:00 PM sharp\" rather than being told a lie about the room's status while we waited in a storm.

We booked a two-day stay specifically looking forward to the hot tub, but it was shut off the entire time. When we asked, we were simply told it was \"beyond their control\" with no further explanation. It’s disappointing to pay full price for a stay when major advertised amenities aren't available.

The hot tub at the property we stayed on was out of service for our time there. An outdoor hot tub is one of the main criteria for my hotel choices, so when we learned it wasn’t working, we considered cancelling and picking a new hotel- until we saw the hot tub closure policy that states no refunds, no discounts.
However, when we got a call from the front desk asking how our check in went, they did offer us access to their other property just a quick walk away which was very nice

The room was really nice and all of the staff we talked to were super helpful and kind! Specifically Michelle at the office was very sweet and super helpful getting us checked in. I'd definitely recommend for anyone looking to spend a night in Canmore, it's also right downtown so everything is very close!

Our stay at the Basecamp Lamphouse was disappointing to put it nicely. The room was extremely loud - you could hear each footstep from the upstairs rooms, the heater turning on and off sounded like a car backfiring and the walls/ceiling continuously creaked with the pipes. The hot water ran out in the mornings. There were long dark hairs found throughout the room. Be aware that housekeeping is not automatically done and you need to request garbage removal and towels 24hours in advance. The TV remotes didnt work and the hot tub was out of service. Overall this was an extremely poor quality stay and we would never return.

There was a mouse in the room we discovered at 4am when our Son heard rustling as he was staying on the hide a bed. The mouse went under the couch, into the bedroom and behind the TV. No sleep was add by my Wife, myself or my Son after that. Further the power went out at 4:30am.We called and attendant fixed the breaker issue. Quite disappointed there was no offer by Management for a free night or any reduction in cost or refund. Surprised by the lack of pro active ness to address the issue. It was only noted Orkin attended the property to take care of the mouse issue. Disappointed overall.

The room was chilly when we got there. The heater couldn't keep up so we plugged in the two space heaters they had but the circuit couldn't handle it. Unfortunately the breaker panel wasn't in the room so we had to ask the front desk to come help. The room was decent enough but small and only had one chair so have to sit on the bed. Overall, I would probably stay there again if the check-in system was changed. Didn't like having to click on a link to go through a process of scanning my license, entering my credit card in for (again - even though I already paid), putting in my vehicle license plate and all my other personal details. That process is ripe for fraudsters to take advantage of. So I'd be cautious with booking here.

They advertise and charge you for amenities that arnt working. The hot tub was broken and it was a big reason I chose to stay here. If you can’t offer part of the package you sold make it right with your customer.

The room was spacious and clean! We also had a beautiful mountain view, it was amazing to wake up to it in the morning. The lamphouse is right in the heart of Canmore, close to restaurants, shopping boutiques, and more. The staff were very accommodating as well. We asked if we could leave our car after the 11 a.m. checkout, and they kindly allowed us to park until 4 p.m. Overall, a great stay!

I loved my stay. I guess two of the thinkgs to improve is the noise level. The walls don’t seem very well insulated, and the heating is somewhat noisy and difficult to manage. I would come back though, the price was right.
