The only good thing about the room was the view of the ocean from the balcony. When we first arrived in the room we noticed the floor was gritty with sand and some crumbs by the fridge. There is a light above the front door that is on a motion sensor so it comes on in the middle of the night anytime we got up to use the bathroom. There is wiring visible above the bedside tables that is just twisted and hanging there like a fire hazard. Then the final insult was we asked for 2 bottles of water on the last day because we had not gotten them from housekeeping the day before and we were told we would be charged for them since it was check out day. Would not recommend to anyone.

The rooms and common areas were spotless and housekeeping came in every day to make beds, replenish towels and etc. The staff were super friendly and very accommodating when booking taxis and if we asked for anything. The location is fantastic and the pool is awesome!

My family had an incredible time staying at The Mint! Spacious rooms that are clean with comfy beds and air conditioning. The beautiful infinity pool looks onto the ocean, and the area is lively but quiet. Staff were kind and accommodating. Highly recommend!

Not enough lighting in room- fans/lights got on and off, must be neighbors remote running our fans.
Only one mirror to do make up and hair and it’s in bathroom. Not enough free coffee it bitty 1 oz cups!

Staff not so friendly- one lady at desk was others not so much.
Very few times we had WiFi in room

Cold showers- 5 days only 1 warm, not hot shower, rest was freezing cold.

My room was fine , tv didnt work half the time and i only watch at night at bedtime . Had them in there 3 times to fix it never happened. Asked for a microwave 4 days they where going to get me one again never happened. Halls where very loud you could hear everyone . I had room at end of the hall there was a exit door slammed till 11 pm it was awful

We enjoyed our stay. Any problems were resolved immediately. Only problem we had was the elevator didn’t work the last day but one of the men from the front desk came up to the 3rd floor and carried our luggage down. The view was perfect, pool was clean and cool. We had a massage one day there and that was the best. Parking was convenient right at the hotel. Location was easy to walk from to anywhere downtown.

Cleanliness could be improved, please put a lid on the toilet bin! There was daily cleaning but perhaps not enough time, but staff friendly.
Room large with adequate furnishings and large balcony with chairs, but really needed a table
Pool small and east facing so little sunlight after noon.
Reception staff friendly.
No room for changeing or showering if you have a late flight.
Reception east facing also with no doors so wind blew though into hallways and into bar/restaurant which made it very cold.

The location is amazing, gorgeous views from room of ocean and a nice, quiet area, it’s close to all the action and so many fantastic places! The front of the hotel, sitting and restaurant and pool area is very relaxing. The room was large-bedding and furniture were great! Fridge and espresso machine, with two bottles of water everyday were appreciated. The shower was inconsistent all week with scalding hot water not getting cooler. We wish we could’ve gotten more towels, washcloths, etc, and the bathroom floors were never really clean enough. The rest of the room was clean and housekeeping did a great job. The spa had great massage services! If the showers were fixed and we could get hand towels/washcloths, and more towels we’d start here again in a heartbeat!

Our room was fine. Just very bland. Nothing on the walls and plain. There was only a sheet on the bed for bedding and I woke up freezing in the middle of the night with nothing extra to cover myself with. I had to use a bathroom towel to cover myself. The room is very large which is nice if you have to stay for more than a night like we did and the bathroom shower was probably the best part of the space we had. It was right on the ocean, which was beautiful, I would stay again if we had to, but a little more style and decor to the room would make the stay more enjoyable.

It may not be all inclusive but it was definitely a great stay! Staff is very attentive and friendly. It was at a good location and not far from the ferry. Maybe a 4-6 minute walk. Maybe less but it’s definitely doable with luggage. It was it a struggle at all.
We got there a bit earlier and our room was not ready but they allowed us to change if we needed to and hold our bags while we explored. We got the ocean view, it was great! The room size is very nice and it stays cold. I opened the glass door to hear the waves and feel the breeze but overall, great place to stay and it is not far from everything. We walked everywhere including playa norte. If you do want to go past south of the ferry dock, rent golf carts.

I highly recommend this hotel!

Clean beds and towels. Staff was friendly. Ocean view and balcony was great. Showers were scalding hot, then lukewarm at best. No matter what we tried were only able to maintain a comfortable temperature for a few seconds. It may be best to bring a smaller towel to clean yourself in case this hasn't been fixed yet.

Pool was small and only had morning sun. Only 5 minute walk to supermarket, restaurants and shopping. Room was very large, separate shower room from toilet and sink. Two double beds with mini bar fridge, free bottled water daily. Suite had peekaboo view of ocean. Beach was not accessible as full of rock and coral. Close to 2 beautiful beaches on each side of inlet, about 10 minute walk. Bring your own beach towels. There is a futon in room. Saw the studio suite. No cooking utensils and only 2 small worn out pans. Needs to bring everything if renting studio. Would stay again.

I loved this hotel and the location. The hotel itself was clean and beautiful. The location was perfect for our needs. The beach in front of the hotel is absolutely beautiful but not swimmable. North beach is just a 10 - 15 minute walk. We did not rent a cart and could easily walk to everything on the north side of the island. Room was spacious, staff was friendly, bed was very comfortable. My husband had a very good deep tissue massage at the spa. No complaints. Can't wait to return!

The beach view was obstructed. There were no beach towels offered by the hotel. There was only one chair on the balcony. The elevator was broken for the 3 days I stayed at the property and it didn't look as if hotel management was in a hurry to repair it. The staff at reception were professional and friendly.

Right on the windward side of Isla with a rugged rocky shore and rough surf making for great ocean sounds...
Staff were OK, check in was a tad painful as the front desk gent was not pleasant and made us wait until 3:01pm for a room we found out was ready the night before (as per the cleaning staff).
Pretty bare room, although quite large. Basics in place with a great TV and decent hot water.
AC was great. Wifi was fine, a tad slow but functional.

Resto downstairs wasn't world beating but nice to have.

All up, a solid spot on the quiet side of Isla but walking distance to everything we needed.

Excellent! Large clean rooms, quiet location close to everything. We stayed 8 nights over New Years and are still calling it quiet… The hallways and guest noise can get loud, but that’s on the guests.

I wish the restaurant/bar would promote itself more as open or closed even to guests. Always seemed 50/50 on availability. Pool was understandably cold and not usable, would be a lot of expense and resources to keep heated.

We were the envy of the group of others who stayed elsewhere! Will be back.

We found the hotel to be very stingy; We were 3 ppl and got only 2 bathtowels and when asking for more. we were informed that 2 was the standard ??? (Our room was a family room that could sleep 5. Why on earth would the standard be for 2 guests? Weirdest of all;.Only 1 handtowel to share. Makes no sense.

Also only 2 glasses and 2 coffee cups. Was not corrected even after we had brought it to managements attention that we are 3 paying guests in the room.

A piece of advise;.I recommend that each guest receives their own set of towels. For sustainability reasons, absolutely no need to wash them every day if that is what causes the stinginess.

Cleaning staff did excellent job, but I am very sceptical to management and existing hotel policies. Clearly a lot of room for improvement.

I have worked pretty much my whole life in the hospitality industry and this was a very confusing experience

Not a resort. The restaurant closes at 4 PM. The pool closes at 8 PM. We weren’t able to use the pool since we were at the beach all day. Our main door lock did not work. I told them and they never fixed it. Our bathroom door was so difficult to close that we had to slam it. This made it difficult to not wake up the other people in the room so we had to leave the bathroom door cracked (no privacy). Yes I told front desk. It was never fixed. The fan is so loud it gave me a headache. The Check-in person at the front desk put my passport on the copier and left it there. I waited a few minutes and then asked her if I could have it back. She said OK and then didn’t get it. I had to ask three times. She also wanted our United States drivers licenses even though we had our Passports. Later, I read the check-in instructions and they clearly said only one form of ID was required. She took what felt like forever. It seemed like she didn’t know what she was doing.
The hallway noise in the mornings is insane. All of the room doors slam shut very loud and the maids’ carts have loud rattling squeaky wheels. We were unable to open our balcony door. I didn’t contact the front desk this time because I was tired of having to report things. I won’t stay here again.

The hotel was spotless and my room was huge. I changed hotels after a few days because there was a spotlight that was going on and off all night from the building next door. The hotel room only had white curtains. I tried telling staff one day but I was having trouble explaining/translating. I eventually used couch cushions and the blanket to hang over the window/balcony door. It says online they have a water dispenser. They do not. Housekeeping will give you 2 bottles per day. There is a grocery store a few minutes away walking.

Our room was good but lacked furniture. Pool was good but not heated. None of the girls at the front desk spoke a word of English, so check in was a bit of a challenge or if you had a question about anything. Restaurant was average. Over all it’s a nice place to stay.

My wife and I just finished a 7-night stay at the Mint Hotel a week ago December 2025. There was good and bad during our stay. Starting with the good: clean rooms, friendly staff, close to Centro area, decent wifi, great A/C, and amazing oceanfront views. The rooms have a somewhat modern decor. The room was spacious, so spacious that it could have accommodated a sofa/sitting area adjacent to bed, but there was none and we had to sit on bed (or out on balcony) while in room. Vanessa and Airron at the front desk took great care of us during our stay.

Not so good: For entire stay, the water temp fluctuated between ice cold and scalding hot. There was rarely a comfortable warm temp, making for quick uncomfortable showers.

Also, during the last couple of days, there was a strong smell of sewage coming from the drains in the sink and shower. No bueno.

Oddly enough, Mint didn't offer real beach towels. They offered slightly larger hand towels to use at pool/beach. Also required us to sign reciept for $1800 peso (about $100 USD) in case we didn't return the towels (but we returned towels 😀). Takeaway: Bring your own beach towels or buy at souvenir shop in town.

Overall, we had a great vacation in Isla Mujeres, but 50/50 on staying at Mint again.

Fantastic hotel right on the sea front and in the heart of IM! If you’re thinking of booking, get an ocean-front room and pay for breakfast as you won’t be disappointed. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and when we return to IM won’t hesitate to stay here again.

The rooms Ocean Viw rooms were spacious, clean and we were supplied every day with fresh towels and water bottles. The staff was wonderful. The pictures were exactly representative of what the Mint looked like. We booked through Expedia and our stay included breakfast (a small charge). If we were to stay in a hotel, this place would one of top picks!

Room was nice, stayed in sea view suite. Bathroom was nice, water was lukewarm, apparently boiler issue was fixed next day. On another day we had no water out of tap, shower or toilet. Was fixed that day. Chairs in room were changed for no apparent reason. Pool is nice but narrow maybe 4ft deep. Other pool more like a jacuzzi with no jets not heated but refreshing. Pool towels super thin and small no use. Beach towels not provided while North shore beach is only a 6 min walk!
Did not eat at the property ca not comment on food.
Stay was ok considering the price we paid.

However I brought my noise cancelling headphones and placed them in their case under the shelf on the makeup mirror. Chair was in front of it. Not clearly visibly, and they disappeared. Checked luggage room several times no luck! Went downstairs and try to report this incident, was told no such form no such page on website. Wrote up my own incident report and had them sign it. Gave them a copy! Was told to check WhatsApp. Signed in and was asked questions but did not receive any answers to mine.
The hotel is nice, the view beautiful, the water issues not ideal the beach and pool towels lacking!
People in and out of your room without a heads up not acceptable!
The service for potential problems that need attention non existent!! Sadly will not return, items should not disappear from room and a shoulder shrug from the front desk, as a solution is unacceptable!!

We arrived around 10:00 pm and the staff were very friendly. Our room was great. The bed was very comfortable. We had a mini fridge which was a wonderful as we could keep beverages cold on those hot days. The balcony was a great size and we had a side view of the ocean. Breakfast was included in our package. You had the option of juice and coffee and for the meal, you have either a fruit plate or delicious buns, you could order eggs (scrambled, over easy, etc); pancakes, or quesadilla. Would recommend this place.

We upgraded to a 'VIP' room (for an additional price) so we could have an ocean-facing room. Not sure what all the other rooms were like (although we met many new friends who said they stay there 'every time we come to Isla!')....but our room was awesome! Large bathroom with beautiful, open shower, large bedroom with king bed (more firm than I normally like, but I slept great!), and a large patio with jacuzzi.

The room was spacious, but didn’t have curtains that block all the light. One window didn’t have curtains at all and it was very bright at night making it difficult to sleep with all that light from the street. The mattress was as super hard. The worst part was the shower and toilet had no water pressure and it never got even warm. Had to take a shower with almost no water and cold. At times the water would not even run a would have to wait for it to be back. Someone did come to try to fix it but it didn’t work whatever he did. The other thing when they cleaned the room they didn’t replaced the towels with clean ones. We had to let them know to bring us clean towels. The balcony was very nice but needed to have a table. It only had 2 chairs. It would’ve been convenient to have a small table to place our drinks and food. The view from our room was great and the location. If they can improve on the previously mentioned things it can be a great place to stay.

Wins:
- Location: You are directly on the ocean, with a great view and an awesome spot to enjoy the ocean breeze. You are within walking distance of El Centro and our personal favorite, the Malecon (walking path on the east side of the island).
- Staff: All staff were great.
- Breakfast: We paid to have breakfast included. It was enjoyable each morning with an option to have a little variety. They do have a $40 pesos per person charge for your server, even after you pay for breakfast to be included.
- Room: The room was nice and clean. The rooms are very large, which is nice, but they could benefit from having a small kitchenette with a microwave.

Opportunities:
- Noise: As others have shared, noise can be a factor from other rooms. For two nights of our stay, the guests next to us set an alarm for 5:00 am and we heard the buzzing of their phone go off for 10 minutes each time, before the alarm would time itself out. Not the ideal way to wake up each morning on a relaxing vacation.
- Seating on the balcony: Two chairs were available on our balcony, but they weren't particularly comfortable for long sittings. The balconies would benefit from adding a small table so you could eat, play cards, etc. and two loungers to lean back, nap, and enjoy the ocean sounds. The four loungers by the pool, fill up quickly and people tend to camp at them for the day.
- Flood Light at Parador Fotográfico was extremely bright and points direct at the hotel. Bring an eye mask.

The room was clean, the AC worked great, and the staff was amazing. My only negative comment is that the bed was extremely firm. It may have just been ours, but I didn’t sleep well because it wasn’t comfortable for me.
