You are right on a beautiful sandy beach with turquoise sea. But youre not allowed to swim due to the current.
Nice vibe, with a kitchen facility, that needs renovation. Right next door to an excellent dive centre 👌 8

It is close to the main beach, Playa Norte, which is a positive. However, the beach at the property is rough and you are not allowed to swim there. Also, I had to change my initial reservation, and the property wouldn't refund me. I was very upset. Will not stay there again and don't recommend it.

This was an excellent stay! Well kept place, lots of amenities, friendly staff but the best? Its location!! We felt in the heart of Island, just a few minutes walk from the iconic North Beach as well as Hidalgo st. One thing tho the bathrooms are shared and the water pressure its terrible, that was the only thing that made us a little bit uncomfortable but not a deal breaker, the rooms have AC and it works amazing, the vibe of this place its very welcoming and the staff at the beach club are super friendly and treat you amazing, not to say the place offers free daily activities like yoga in the mornings, Volley in the evenings and so many other events. They also offer excursions, massages, co working space, shared kitchen… etc

We will keep this place in our list for our next trip
To Isla mujeres.

The Hotel and grounds were kept very clean. Excellent location, close to restaurants, beach and a lovely market only steps from hotel.
The staff were super helpful and friendly. We enjoyed chatting to your staff at the bar.
We would suggest a small dresser in the room for clothing and also a safe.
We hope to be back again next year.

Had a horrible hostel experience, a drugged guest made us very scared in the first night, nobody could sleep, security didn’t do anything and when I asked to change room they simply didn’t care, didn’t make any effort and treated everything like it was nothing. The beach in fronto of the hostel is not allowed to swim so very disappointing too.

The receptionist was not the most friendly. Luckily the manager stepped in and took care of the issues. Everything was smooth after that and the place was great. Some of the rooms are bunk style and great for large groups of people or college kids travelling. The coffee shop downstairs was great and had very cheap bottle water. The bar at the hotel was great and has nice views. The hotel is great for people who want to walk around. Playa Norte is the place go for your beach access if you want to swim. It’s a very short walk to Playa Norte. The food trucks near the hotel are great. I recommend the Al Pastor from La Patrona food truck and the churros from Churrossik Park.

I had a wonderful stay at Nílu Isla Mujeres by Selina. I loved the teepee-style accommodation, and the location directly on the beach was absolutely perfect. The coffee shop was great, and I really enjoyed relaxing by the pool, on the beach chairs, and in the hammocks.

I also brought my dog along, and the experience was easy and enjoyable, which I really appreciated. The shared kitchen was another great feature and very convenient during my stay. The staff were consistently friendly and helpful. The only minor issue was that the bathroom hot water didn’t always work, but overall it was a lovely experience and I cannot wait to return.

Great performance for the price you pay. All the other alternatives were expensive in the main part of island. This one is affordable, clean and social option. But this one is affordable and nice. The only caveat is it is loud until 2am on Fridays and Saturdays.

Check in doesn't give you the \"lay of the land\". Figure out the kitchen, bathrooms and included breakfast on your own. Our AC died and the room was HOT. I left to stay in a hotel my last night to get some sleep. Breakfast is very limited but tasty. Cream for coffee costs extra..haha. only some items were included. Best part about this place...the ocean and beach are beautiful but it's not a swimming beach.

My room smelled of such strong sewage it kept me up all night. I requested to change rooms and they complied. The next room did not smell but the lock didn’t work. Another guest walked right into my room while I was there. I told the hotel and they made sure no one else’s keys worked in my room, but they never went to check my actual lock, which was out of battery. The entire day my room was unlocked and anyone could have come in and stolen my stuff. The hostel is also a club at night. It was so loud that it was impossible to sleep. I could hear everything and was up until 2 AM. I left two days early to stay elsewhere and I am still working on getting a refund. Would not recommend this place.

The staff are very helpful and the location is great! I would recommend Selina for a short stay if you’re looking for a place in Isla Mujares.

We stayed in a private room, it was clean and the housekeeping staff were great and made sure the bed and everything was setup everyday.

However, there are some things I’d flag. The water pressure is quite weak. The rooms are not well lit (atleast ours wasn’t) and the indoor lights while very cozy it was quite dim. The sound insulation is pretty bad you can hear your neighbours. Luckily our neighbours were mindful and we didn’t have any issues and enjoyed our stay here!

The place has a great vibe and excellent location. The pool, bar and beach area are excellent. However we stayed three years ago when it was Selina and the building maintenance seems to have gone downhill a bit. Ladders, cleaning supplies, and buckets left laying around. Our shower pressure was terrible and the toilet had flushing issues.That being said, we still like it a lot and would stay again.

Amazing vacation thankyou for the extra pillow and the all female dorm I'm so thankful your staff went over and above to make my vacation memerable . Thankyou for the suntan lotion and sunblock protection options and bug spray . Thankyou for security for being so protective and professional . Thanks for having a lock cutter when i locked my personals in the storage locker . Quick response . Such a beautiful beach resort . Of course some tlc is always recommended. New stove top in kitchen so cooking with other guest wouldnt be so cramped and interactions. i wouldnt been so moody first thing in morning, someone poking my pan fried wrapes to see if burner working lol And stolen cheese replaced with gross cheese was funny not funny ja ja ja

Only hot shower water once during our stay. Charge for everything. At restaurant food was cold every breakfast. Charged for butter to put on toast. Charged for creamer for the coffee. The checking in process was disorganized.
The staff were great. Power was out in the island for an entire day and the staff were busy putting water in toilets to flush.

Unfortunately, our stay was disappointing. The hostel’s direct beach access wasn’t usable for swimming due to large rocks and strong waves on that side of the island, so we had to walk quite a bit in the opposite direction to reach a swimmable beach.

Regardless of the bad experience with our hotel we had a great time at Islas Mujeres because it’s a beautiful place.

The bathroom design was very uncomfortable — the sink had a ledge directly under the mirror, making it difficult to wash your face or brush your teeth without splashing water everywhere.

We also found the staff to be not very friendly or helpful, which added to the overall frustration. At checkout, we were charged $15 for a “dirty sheet.” I explained that the stain came from my carry-on wheels and would likely come out in the wash, but they insisted on charging anyway — even though sheets are washed between guests regardless.

This experience was disappointing, especially since it’s the first time I’ve ever felt the need to leave a negative review.

This property served its purpose but left more to be desired. I stayed in the 6-bed dormitory in hopes of making friends on my solo trip but the roommates were disgruntled and not friendly.
Pros: Affordable, great location, has excursion bookings on site, on site restaurant food was AMAZING, friendly staff, and SAFE.
Con’s: Even though its beachfront, the beach location is no swimming due to rough tides, the resort is mostly on the sand so there’s sand everywhere in the room. AC not strong very warm at night. Power went out for a few hours during stay and the water cut off with it (I was showering when it happened) no explanation given from resort.

When I arrived they put me in a room that was not looking at all like the pictures, and what I pay for, then I decided to complain and they put me in another room again with not the view I selected, the ac was not working properly, not enough light and a smell like paint in the whole room, terrible place and do not recommend to anyone, just after 15 min from arriving I had to book another hotel and on top of that they don’t want to make a refund even do I was not there more than 20 minutes definitely a big mistake booking this hotel and be aware they might not give you what you pay for

This property is very nice and well maintained.
The location is PERFECT for accessing the downtown night life and food carts (highly recommend)! The property doesn’t allow you to bring in your own alcohol though——well any food or drink. Very quiet, all the time. Young traveling holistic crowd made up most of the people we saw. Basically if you want a place to show off in pictures to your friends for being fancy, don’t stay here. If you are looking for a private get away where you will be surrounded by simple amenities and a lot of peace and quiet, than book this place. Staffing was helpful when approached. The pool was questionable. There isn’t really a beach, and their beach is the spot where the turtles come to lay their eggs, so it’s all protected. The night club does thump and bump until 2:00 am on the weekends. No TV or ice machine.

This hotel is located in a convenient location at a short walking distance from Playa Norte. Be aware, they start playing extremely loud music from 9pm to 2am which affected our sleep and made us feel tired and restless the following day. If it was not for that, we would stay here again.

The hotel is decent and more suitable for young couples or students. I do not recommend staying in the bungalows. They are very cramped, hot, full of mosquitoes, and there is a terrible smell of urine. Absolutely uncomfortable! There aren’t even any hooks for clothes. The shower cabins also lack hooks and shower gel. The beach is terrible. Late check-out is not included and requires an extra payment.

On the plus side, the location is good, and there’s a café with excellent croissants.

Ive stayed here twice now and absolutely love it. Its Very safe and clean. They have a communal kitchen which is very convenient. They do charge for towels so be prepared for that cost. Otherwise overall great stay and the price per night can’t be beat. Also there are lots of daily events to participate in.

This was the perfect place for my very first solo trip! Just enough room in the beautifully boho style teepee, which had air conditioning! The hammocks around the pool were wonderful to relax in while I listened to the ocean waves. There are beautiful black rocks on the secluded beach and a short walk from Playa Norte. I will definitely return!

Although you aren't able to swim on the beach directly outside the property it was still nice to watch the sunset, suntan, dip your feet into and walk around to the other side of the island to the swimming beach.
The property is well maintained with a restaurant, shared work space, hammocks, nice pool, free class options like yoga and some paid classes also.
I'll definitely go back :)

The room and resort area did not look anything like the pictures - at least we were VERY disappointed. Everything felt to used out, especially the bathroom seemed in bad condition. The room had mould ish smell and felt very disgusting.
The AC were to noisy- not possible to sleep while it was on.
The pool area were also very dirty, and the water looked like nothing you felt like taking a dip in.
They advise not to swim in the ocean cause of waves.
Therefor you need to go elsewhere!

We did not have a nice stay - we actually felt uncomfortable.
The staff didn’t seem that welcoming and it took ages to check-in and out.

We arrived at midday and the check in time was 3pm. Most hostels would let you do the check in and just hand in the keys when the room is ready. However this was not possible for them. So we had to wait over an hour in the queue for check in when there was two people behind the desk, another one doing absolutely nothing, yawning and looking like she really didn’t want to be there. Once we got to check in, they gave us someone else’s room key and the people were still in the room. We came back and raised this issue and we were given another room key. This didn’t match anyhow the pictures were we were sold. They blamed hotels.com has wrong pictures in the room types. There was nothing they could do apparently even though the room types we wanted were available. We didn’t get any compensation and had to sleep in a room that we would have never booked. We had to work remotely and the WiFi was as down the whole day in the coworking space. There was no food or bar service during the days, and you weren’t allowed to bring your own alcoholic drinks in. So if I wanted to spend a day at the pool and have a cocktail or beer, it wouldn’t be possible. The kitchen wasn’t allowed to be used after 11am which I find absolutely ridiculous. We had take away pizzas and went to eat them in the kitchen and the security told us the area is closed already. The staff was unbothered, unhelpful apart from this one Argentinian girl who was lovely and proactive. This place needs management changing asap

Over crowed, over priced due to high season but Not enough employees to handle the season. Bathrooms dirty, no toilet paper, have to pay for bath towel daily? water pressure low but at the same time all appliances are rusty. My room to small for 4 persons(mix room) not enough space to even walk to your bed if someone is standing, too dark, no area to keep ur shower items. also a moldy smell in room due to lack of ventilations. I had stayed here before with no issues but Please if you Know there is a high demand and you are Increasing the price at Least HIRE more employees to keep the showers and restroom clean! i have stayed at several Selinas around the world but this time it was not worth my visit at Islas Mujeres.

The rooms are too small, the air conditioning does not cool enough, you sweat in the room, the bathrooms are shared, the rooms do not have closets or tables, they do not give you shampoo or hair conditioner, there is no access to the beach in the hotel They don't even give you a bottle of water, the conditions are very austere, the pool is smaller than what you see in the photograph, personally I didn't like it.

The hostel was genuinely magical and so beautiful. Overall very clean, just very sandy ;) We stayed in a teepee and had a great time. The AC in the teepee was a lifesaver.
The hostel is a short walk from playa norte and the restaurants.

The grounds are lovely but the rooms are small and smell like mold. Advertised as a hotel on hotels.com Selina is a hostel, not a hotel. The hostel did not get our reservation from hotels.com and blamed us and hotels.com for the issue. I had emailed the hostel a week prior to visiting to ask for an early check-in and they never responded. When searching for my reservation they came across the email and started acting a bit nicer.

We were put in a smaller private room with a shared bathroom as the larger room with a private bathroom that we reserved and paid for in advance was not available. I asked to be refunded the difference for the first night between the two rooms and was told I needed to contact hotels.com. Hotels.com was responsive, but could not get ahold of reception to confirm the room issue and as a result could not issue a refund. I told the front desk that hotels.com was trying to reach them and they said they did not have a phone, only WhatsApp. Be warned, hotels.com cannot reach Selina if there is an issue with your booking. If you book this place through hotels.com I highly recommend paying at the hotel versus paying in advance.

Overall I thought it was a bit pricey for what you get.

Worst part was between 10pm and 6am when sleeping was not possible. This is a night club with rooms! Not a hotel, let alone suitable for families. We booked the “family room” and I’m so exhausted after three nights of being kept awake all night with the party.
The pool was a glorified foot wash station. You couldn’t see your leg while in the pool let alone the bottom. It was disgusting.
They said they couldn’t call us a taxi upon check out. As they didn’t have a phone.

Great place to stay

The place is beautiful, probably the prettiest in the area. Love the pool and the area around. The kitchen was so big but the utensils not so great. Separate cutting boards for different things would be better. Air Con was ok some days but one day wasn't working properly and one day it was working properly but it was super loud.
The cleaning was done very late in the day. Room was not that small as advertised.
