My room was very nice. Loved the soft blanket on the bed. Had a large mirror in the room for dressing. Only issue was the hot water. Seems it is only available at certain times. I almost think they have a switch to turn it off and on so if you don't have hot water just ask and soon you will have it too. Great location as well.

altamente recomendable para quienes quieren disfrutar de la isla ya que solo el cuarto es para pasar la noche, todo esta muy centrico y puedes llegar caminando desde el ferry, rentan sillas de playa para q aproveches y no tengas q pagar el doble en la playa, el hotel esta en el mero centro y tienes playa a unos cuantos pasos. Altamente recomendable.

Very inexpensive but a nice little hotel in town not swimming pool or anything like it but we just wanted to spend the night in a clean and safe hotel and beds where ok and clean . Some how expedia did not comunicate wuth hotel but they work with us and respected the price expedia had. They were very nice ,but they did not speak English but i did speak spanish so problem solved .

Pros:
-Within walking distance to tons of restaurants, beaches, bars. Very close to the ferry.
-Daily room cleaning
-AC

Cons:
-Bed was pretty hard. Didn’t effect our sleep, but it may for more sensitive sleepers.
-Pretty noisy until around midnight (loud music) and then again around 7am (neighborhood stores opening). Walls seemed pretty thin
-Hot water was very inconsistent. We’d get about 5-10min of hot water per shower or sometimes none at all. Seemed better in the morning
-Our room had only one window that pointed toward an interior hallway, so we had to keep it closed most of the time
-Linens didn’t seem very clean. There were a couple stains on towels and sheets

Overall, a decent stay for our last minute trip, but probably wouldn’t stay again.

I loved staying here! Room #11
Slight communication barrier but each encounter was pleasant, staff accommodated by using translate on phone. Staff was FRIENDLY! And attentive. We had a light bulb go out and staff came immediately when notified and fixed. The room is smaller than traditional US hotel room but adequate with plenty of space needed to feel comfortable. The room and bathroom was very clean. Bath towels are clean but with marks/stains from lots of use but they were soft and smelled great!!!! Shower drain was adequate and water pressure was great. A few times we lost hot water for a couple minutes, but the hot water came right back and didn't interfere with shower.
Storage of clothes… there is a closet with a few hangers but no shelves. My husband used a small desk/shelf by his bed for suitcase, and i used the “wooden bench” from outside that was already in room to put my suitcase on. Refrigerator was cold and worked. AC IS COLD. A/C turns on with key so it cant be left on while you are gone all day. When i got back to room i put key in AC, turned on ceiling fan and showered. By the time i was done (5-7 min) the room was COLD! We found that 24C was a comfortable temp at night for sleep.
This hotel is just 2 doors off Hidalgo street so there is music you can here until 11pm/12am
But it was VERY ENJOYABLE and we had no trouble falling asleep to it.
This hotel is BASIC BUT CLEAN AND COMFY! I would stay here again.
Great location for someone w/o cart.

I’ve stayed there for a week and although the place isn’t bad in its condition it did felt a bit run down and could use some tune up

Pros :
1- great location
2- ok priced
3- clean
4- it has A/C

Cons:
1- compared with the prices in Cancún and the quality there this hotel is down the scale vs a proper hotel there

2- The safe required a deposit in order to get a key ( the digital part doesn’t work , it’s key only )

This is a budget hotel, but that being said, the rooms are always spotless, the staff is uniformly friendly and inviting, and the location couldn't be better - only 20 feet from Hidalgo St, and a short 5 minute walk to the beach. If you're looking for an inexpensive, clean, friendly place to stay in Isla Mujeres, you can't do better!

I personally loved the location. I could walk every where I needed to go, although I did rent a golf cart and was able to park it at the end of the street.

The only thing I didn’t LOVE about it was the fact that there was no hot water. By the end of the week I was used to it though.

There were ants in the bed. The shower didn't have any pressure nor hot water.
The air conditioning was a window unit that they turned off when they cleaned the room. We would come back between 2 to 4 hours and the room was hot.
We left before the expected date because it wasn't what we expected. Couldn't get a receipt, they told me to take a pic of it and when I asked to write that we checked out before the due date, they wouldn't do it. I went back 3 times and the manager was never there. The staff very unprofessional.
The location is very noisy at night. We had the room next to the street on the second floor.

The hotel and staff were good but the location is loud and busy. Local bars were loud and nothing the hotel can do. Lots of slamming doors all day and night above my room and apparently the lobby hallway right outside my room was the hotel meeting place as the folks hung out right outside my room and were loud as well. I gave the hotel the okay score because I couldn't sleep much, not exactly what you are looking for to rest on vacation.

The hotel is in a great location for restaurants, bars, shopping, etc.. also the walk to North & Central beaches. It was clean & staff was pleasant. Excellent communication before & throughout our stay.
The only problem we had was we were on the main floor and close to the reception desk and it can get loud, the music didn't bother us as much as people standing outside our window talking.
Definitely a great place to stay and great price. Definitely recommend.

Great hotel and everything was as it is in the photos. Cannot fault the location as it's in a prime position for beaches, shops, restaurants and tourist activities.
The wifi was less than optimal and couldn't even browse the internet, apart from this the hotel is fantastic and would recommend to anyone wanting to stay on Isla Mujeres.

This hotel property has great rates and is very close proximity to all the vendors, eateries, and the ocean. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. It was more difficult to sleep on Friday night and Saturday night because of the music, singing and yelling of patrons on the streets until the early morning. We had a phone app with White Noise that helped a lot though. If you’re looking for a good value with just the bare essentials and great location, this is the spot!

I initially booked a room without a/c. Rain was forecast for 3 days so Luckily there was a room available with a/c for an additional reasonable charge. Price and location was great. The receptionist and housekeepers were friendly and answered all my questions. Room and bed were very clean. If you’re on a budget, this is your place! WiFi works in the hallway, room safe was large and housekeeping daily. Two blocks from grocery store and one block from pharmacy.

The “basic” room does not have air conditioning. That is almost $20.00 usd additional. None of the staff speaks English. I never saw the manager/owner and he only spoke to me over the phone once and was very rude. When I asked about a key for the safety deposit box in the room I was told it would be $20.00 per day. There is a nightclub very close that plays music quite loud from about 11:00 pm until 3:00 or 4:00 am. This place is a dump. Checked out after two with no refund. This was the worst travel experience I have ever had.

Compared to the other budget hotels I've stayed in Centro, Marcianito is by far the best. Very clean, minifridge, coffee maker & AC all worked great & there's a microwave in the office for guests. The bed was comfy with a mattress topper & the shower & sink had excellent water pressure. You do get some noise from Hidalgo but I expected that & it wasn't a problem for me. I was in room #1 right on the street.

Hotel is in the center of all the restaurants and shops. Walking distance to the North and center Beach. Staff very pleasant and helpful. FYI , we had to place a deposit for the locker safe in our room, $20 US and you get a key instead of using a code. Also to work the AC , you place the white key fob in the AC control by the bed. We stayed 2 nights. Great value. Clean, felt safe and conveniently located.

The basic Room has everything you need: bed fridge (a safe and a tv in theory but didn't really work, but thats okay, I want worried and didn't need the tv) wifi and a good shower. Bed is fine, location is great except for being close to a bar which plays live music every night until midnight but after that it's pretty calm.

Book this hotel because it was walking distance from the bus terminal and very cheap. A lot of rooms, outdoor pool and continental breakfast included. It is a fair distance to the town core but we didn't mind because we like walking.

Stayed 10 days very basic hotel. No elevator and a three floor hotel. Hotel is a great location to everything. Music from the clubs/bars can be heard clearly every night which I enjoyed. Refrigerator kept things very cold tv had basic cable. Balcony was nice to sit at. I had a single bed room which was small but who spends a lot of time in their rooms on vacation. Bed was comfortable not bad pillows. No AC in my room but a huge ceiling fan and nice cross breeze so didn't miss it. Staff works very hard on cleaning rooms daily. I was not a needy guest but any interaction with staff was always friendly. Very little or no English spoken. Please if you stay remember it's a cheap hotel but very clean and tip your staff.

I had a pleasant stay. The hotel is centrally located in the town, close to all amenities and minutes from the beach. There was nearby loud music until late but it was salsa style and not bothersome. I did have earplugs handy. The staff members at the front desk were helpful and friendly but other staff around the hotel were not always very friendly. The room was economically priced and felt like good value.

perfect for cpl or travelling solo

My room is on the main floor and although I didn't have a balcony it was such easy access in and out that I really didn't miss it. For the price it's clean, quality, no frills accommodations. There was free coffee most mornings and although english was a struggle at times...they were very friendly and willing to figure out any questions I had.

You are so close to the downtown festivities that you will hear them until approximately a Time curfew of midnight. But there is a modern wall air conditioner, a fridge and a pull blind to block out sound and light.

It's important to note it's only a five-minute walk from the ferry drop off and another 5 minutes from the central Beach or the North Beach.

I highly recommend this spot and would definitely stay here again!

It was quiet enough that you could sleep at night, but as you were falling asleep you could hear the music from nearby bars. The hotel was clean and the staff was very friendly. Positives: Room was clean, did not have that musty smell you experience at many Isla hotels, staff was friendly, awesome location not far from North Beach and all restaurants, water pressure for shower/toilet was good, flat screen TV was nice, it appears they put on brand black wooden doors which are nice, closet is large w/provided hangers. The fridge worked great. The morning coffee they provided was good. The safe worked fine.

Negatives: It's close to the square so if you go during Carnival Week, don't expect to sleep well due to the noise that goes on until 5am. We had 2 double beds which were a bit tight for 2 people but we made it work or slept in separate beds. They provide you with a water pitcher and 2 cups but we didn't see any sort of water station or ice machine. Bathroom was small (barely room to dry off after the shower while whacking your elbows). They give you a magnetic key rod with runs the A/C but it's tightly attached to your room key ring. We were able to separate them so we could run the A/C when we weren't in the room but the maid will remove it when (s)he cleans and leave on your fridge. We couldn't get it back on the key ring before we checked out. Thin blankets left us cold at night but we just turned A/C down. WiFi wasn't great but I have $5/day Verizon travel pass.

Recommendations to the hotel: Offer a station to refill water bottles.

Recommendations to guests: Bring a sound machine or ear plugs.

This is our second stay in this small hotel, the location is just perfect, rooms are cleaned daily, the room has strong a/c and celling fan, small flat tv with few English channels, , the room has safe box for a deposit and also has fridge , at night is noisy but that’s because of the location where bars and restaurants are playing live music,so the hotel has nothing to do with this.I recommend this small hotel (13 rooms) to my friends.

Never Again!!!

Isla Mujeres in general could be described as a dirty paradise so you have to accept a little bad with all of the good that the island has to offer. We have stayed at several hotels on the island over the years and have always had this mentality in exchange for affordability. However, this hotel was completely unacceptable. The first night there was only a sheet on the bed and no blanket. Hand and floor towels were only given sporadically. You have to ask for soap and shampoo when you run out. The toilet was not cleaned for a few days. We were put on the first floor which is just a hallway and a few benches. Unfortunately, the room windows open to the hallway (which echoes) and you can hear every conversation. Our cable TV barely worked and the internet connection on the other floors must be bad since the 1st floor hallway was occupied day and night by people using phones so you were constantly bothered by the early morning business people or the late night drunk folks. The front desk is not always staffed and ringing the bell did nothing for me when I tried. I like staying in the area where this hotel is situated since it is close to the best restaurants/bars and North Beach. However, there are plenty of other hotel choices in this area and I would suggest picking any other hotel nearby. I will say that the mattress appeared to be new and clean and the staff were nice when you could find them.

Very pleased.

It was a last minute option and was happily very cheap and near everything downtown. Friendly staff, free wifi, good a/c, hot water, very clean. What more do you need?!

Great budget hotel

We had room 12 on the third floor. Great central location. Comfortable beds.
Room cleaned everyday. 10 min walk from the port.
The only negative (that we didn’t mind) was the loud music at night from nearby bars, but we listened for a while then just turned out telly volume up!

pleasant stay

Stayed 4 days, check in was a breeze , room was ready, this is a budget hotel with excellent location, a just few steps from Hidalgo street, At night is noisy but that's not the hotel fault, there are many restaurants and bars playing live music around this area.

I don't recommend the cheap room tho, as it doesn't have aircon and the fans are not enough.

Clean and quaint

Clean room with a balcony allowing a beautiful breeze and view of the blue water in the distance. Air conditioner and ceiling fan. Small but private and friendly staff. Close to everything downtown. Will stay here again.

Cheap, but not worth it.

You only get what you pay for which is both ok, and not a lot. Our problem however was that the staff couldn't care less when we arrived and when we met them in the halls. The room was not well cleaned and had stuff from the last customer under the beds, sticky gue on the floor that stained my shorts and shoe marks on the wall.
It generally lacks the effort.
A room should be cheap due to location, standard or whats included, not due to the staff not caring.

Teeny tiny comfy room

Little tiny hotel, far from fancy but serves it purpose. Right near Hidalgo and two blocks from the beach. We've stayed here a few times in the past and the rooms were recently upgraded. We always have a good experience. And for the price, you save money to splurge on the things that truly matter on isla, the drinks and the food XD
