Excellent service, no complaints here. From the reception to the cleaning lady, they are so great, very welcoming and helpful. Don’t pay attention to the bad reviews I always like to go and get my own experience and it was great. Amazing view from the room and the free chairs was the cherry on top. Thank you all, my husband and I will be back.

We arrived a bit early and there basically was no one to answer any questions at the desk. We sat outside with other people who also arrived early. When I finally was able to speak with someone, I asked if we could check in a little early. The gentleman informed me that they were cleaning the rooms a check in starts at 3 pm even though there were rooms already available. When we finally got into our room it was ok and the view was nice. The next morning at 5 am I believe they were picking up dumpsters because it was loud and woke us up. It would be nice if they did this either in the evening or later in the morning.

No running hot water. No water pressure in the bathrooms. No iron or blowdryer in the room. Asked for extra towels and when we finally got them, they smelled like glue. Woke up every morning to empty bottles being thrown away. The view and Restaurant /Bar was only good thing about this place.

This was our 4th or 5th time staying at Cici and Charlie’s, and we’ve always loved the location on Playa Norte and the convenience of having chairs and umbrellas included. The rooms have typically been clean, which is why we’ve recommended it to others.

Unfortunately, this visit was disappointing. Our room didn’t have a safe, the showers never got warm, and we were told that if we left our beach chairs unattended for 30 minutes, they could remove our belongings and resell the chairs to day-pass guests. That policy really takes away from the value of staying there.

Sadly, after this experience, we won’t be recommending it anymore.

You can’t put a price on location and the incredible view from your balcony! You are walking distance to Hidalgo and all of the down town bars and restaurants. You also have a great deal on the beach if Playa Norte during the day with beach service for cocktails and delicious food. The room is basic. There is no room safe, hair dryer or iron. They do have a Kuerig and a small refrigerator. The water pressure is nothing to write home about but the water was hot and did the job. They gave us two clean towels and swept and made our bed daily. They also gave us mini shampoo, conditioner and soap. I usually buy shampoo on the island or bring my own.

We had a wonderful stay. We will definitely return!

The room was clean but that's about it. When we arrived, the room door was wide open. The check in guy said it was so the floor could dry after it was just cleaned. There was no outlet in the bathroom to plug in anything to get ready like your curling iron, etc. There were only three outlets in the bedroom. Two were 5 feet up on the wall and one was behind the head of the bed that we didn't find until later. Then let's not forget the 2 inch gap at the bottom of the door to allow geckos, bugs and mosquitos in. Needless to say we checked out at 9pm the same day because there was NO way we were going to sleep there.

The free beach chair access, which is included with the room, is the best part of staying here. Otherwise, the walls are so thin you can hear partying until 4 am… which is to be expected I suppose. The towels were dirty and had holes… no water pressure… bed was soft but no blanket was provided. Was unable to locate any staff to check out, so I had to write a note and leave my key in the unattended office. Stayed here specifically for the proximity to Playa Norte.

The location of this hotel is absolutely perfect!! The rooms are very basic, but comfortable and very clean. Air conditioner worked well and our room had a small refrigerator. We thought that most of the staff was unfriendly & not very helpful (except for the cleaning crew, which were all super nice). When we booked the room, it says that there are beach loungers for the hotel guests - which there are, however, there are many exceptions as to which ones you can use. You cannot reserve them, so it was difficult to get two loungers and once we did finally get them, they were so uncomfortable, we ended up going to a different beach club a couple places down. (which we had to pay for) We would have been OK with just sitting in regular chairs instead, but they would not allow us to even do that. It did not ruin our trip by any means, we still had a fantastic time, but the beach lounger situation could definitely use some improvement ;)

Ground level corner room is not ideal with all the workers that are stopping people all day every day. Good for people watching. We weren’t informed that beach chairs were provided for hotel guests. We paid for beach chairs every day, the last day when they told us that they were free for hotel guests. A cat brought a rat to the neighbours door, smelly and just removed and not cleaned up.

The view from the room is amazing, the bed is also comfortable but otherwise they lack in a number of ways that would greatly improve the place especially considering the almost $400/night room charge. No one ever cleaned our room or replenished waters or towels, the beds lack an actual comforter, there are no beach towels, there is a coffee pot but no cups, no coffee/creamer/sugar (even after requesting it multiple times), there are no bedside lights for reading, the air conditioner rattles, the shower is hot for maybe 3 minutes and the water from the bathroom smells like Sulphur. I will say the location for anyone wanting to be right on North Beach is great.

As far as the hotel goes, the room we were in was big, with two beds, a sofa, and a big deck. There are no lamps on the nightstands, not enough outlets, the tv didn't work, and no surfaces in the bathroom to put anything. They ran out of drinking water on the last two days of our stay, so plan ahead an get extra bottles for your room.
My main issue is with the interface between the Hotels.com platform and the hotel's system. My reservation was for $2368.
A charge was authorized to my card on 12/17/25 for $313.
At check-in, the hotel charged me in pesos, which came to $2658USD. They assured me the $313 was just an authorization, which appears to be the case, now that I'm home and can check my account.
After we had checked in, my daughter, who was on a different reservation, persisted, and they gave us all cash ($300 to me), so it all worked out.
Obviously, this is not how I want to do business. I expect to be charged the amount I agreed to on the Hotels.com reservation. If they're going to do a pre-auth only, that needs to be made clear before arrival.
This is the second time I've had an issue in Isla Mujeres with a Hotels.com/Expedia reservation, and it's the last time I'll be booking anything in Mexico on your platform.

We had a room on the ground floor, directly in front of the restaurant, we see the sea on the left of the restaurant, on the right and through the restaurant. For us it is the best room # 2 or 3. However we have to consider that it is more noisy because of the music of the restaurant, but it is the better situation and we are at the level of the sand which for us is the best. The room was OK though they put a bed pad plasticized which is very hot, noisy when you move and uncomfortable. But this hotel has the better situation on the north beach.

This place is a DUMP. I understand that there is newer portion of the facility but that was not the room we were given. Our room was one step above an area y barracks - 2 beds, a nightstand and a mini fridge. There wasn’t even a chair. There were no water glasses, plastic or otherwise, no washcloth, and no hairdryer. When was the last time you stayed in a hotel room? It did not have a hairdryer? There was a handwritten note on top of the mini fridge that said “tips, please” but we never got any sort of service to the room. The view out our back windows looked onto the Reef from other places in the area so it wasn’t a nice view. Best to keep the curtains closed. The air conditioning unit on it had a digital display. It was so bright that we didn’t need a nightlight in the room. In fact it illuminated the whole room and it was difficult to sleep. This facility advertises that its office opens at 9 AM. We tried to drop our luggage around 10 AM and there was no one around. Finally a bartender from the connecting restaurant bar told us that no one would be there until late afternoon. He told us just to leave our luggage in the office and not worry about it. There was no separate room for luggage. There there was never anyone in reception. The lock on our door is very similar to the luck that you have on your bathroom door at home- not very secure. The bar closed at 6 because it rained. Why did we pay the same amount as guests in the new improved rooms? Never again. A DUMP.

We found this little gem a couple of years ago and have stayed several times. We decided to bring our family but realized that things had slightly changed. It is still a nice place to stay by a beautiful beach with many walkable options and would recommend it to anyone staying in Isla.

The last time we stayed, we were supposed to wear a band, this time there was no band to show that we were with the hotel and had the ability to park where we wanted or use the umbrella and chairs without an extra charge.

Although the staff did a good job of making sure, not just anyone took advantage of this, it was slightly irritating that several people from our party were asked or told to not go up to the rooms or use the chairs.

The parking situation is not ideal, but again, the staff did their best to help us get out of tight situations.

We stayed here for a couple days while visiting Cancun on a trip to Isla. The room is a bit old, and not the nicest, but you are literally on the beach. We stayed in the “junior suite with terrace balcony” and it was quite literally the best beach view and literally walk out the door and into the sand. Price was reasonable for the location.

The room is very basic. We don’t spend much time in our room so this was fine. The room was clean and bathroom was nice and had what we needed. The location is excellent and close enough to walk everywhere in town which we appreciated very much. There is a bar on site and you can get some great drinks and some food too. We enjoyed our stay here and especially liked the location. Waking up with the sound of the waves isn’t too bad either. Definitely staying here again.

We are all about no frills- but this was a horrible experience! The door did not close securely and had no dead bolt, it was my daughter & i so I didn’t feel safe! Very noisy outside room with golf cart parking & thumping dance music playing all day until late hours. View to the back of property was trashy, refrigerator in room was unplugged & smelled of fish. The beach seemed to be more public with non stop vendors bothering guests. Many of the staff were rude, got irritated because we used lounge chairs first thing in the morning. The entire experience was so bad- we packed up & left a day early.

I stayed on the top floor oceanfront unit and it had an amazing view.

The unit had a coffee maker, mini fridge, and microwave, but no kitchen sink, no coffee cups or coffee.

It would be a nice touch to have some coffee and cups.

The livingroom set was way outdated, should at least be reupholstered, but better to get something more modern.

The location is amazing and the beach amazing, one of the best in the world.

This particular property has an unbeatable location, right on the beach, idyllic.
Is just what I always wanted location wise.
I would suggest an update placing few things to make it more comfortable. Like an iron and hair dryer on every room, a tray with coffee, sugar and milk in the fridge, cups for cold and hot drinks and an electric kettle.
Perhaps a chair for an extra blanket and a box of tissue.
I know we can go to the restaurants but I would have love to have those things.
In any case please don't miss this hotel, Best location. I absolutely love the fact I could get up, walk few steps and I was on the warm water. Amazing. I would definitely come back here.

This hotel is steps to the water on the north end of Isla Mujeres. That’s about the only positive thing I can say - other than the AC worked (thank goodness). We had the basic room (#3) as we only stayed one night. Let’s talk safety. Our door lock was a mere push button lock. That’s it. No chain, no deadbolt. We were given two bath towels. No hand towels, no wash cloths, no beach towels. There’s “free” lounge chairs to the right of the hotel under the grey umbrellas but you can’t have food brought to you. Instead, you would have to rent the chairs directly in front of the bar area in order to have food and drinks. If you wanted to take your drink with you to the free section, you have to close your bar tab. The staff seemed fed up with waiting on tourists. While I enjoyed riding around in a rented golf cart, I was extremely disappointed with just how touristy and scammy this island is. Would I stay at this hotel again? Absolutely not!

We had a family of four stay for four nights March 20-24, 2025. Overall, amazing location. Great beach access - crystal blue water. It was very busy spring break zone but it never felt too crazy and was quiet after about 8PM.

The room was nice - we didn't have a shower curtain so water got all over the floor (room 105) - felt old school motel but cool.

Everything was walkable. Even the ferry was only 20 min.

We will be back. Great value!

Great locatio, I wouldn't pay over $150 though

Location is excellent. Easy walk from the Ferry terminal. The up side is the hotel is very clean. The maid's clean the room daily. Felt very safe and nothing was stolen or even rummaged through. Down side: ?Bathroom sink area has no counter space. This is definitely around a 3 star for facility, but clean. I felt the beds (we were in 2 different rooms in 5 nights due to scheduling) were both hard, and I didn't sleep well. The A/C was noisy in one room, but needed it on. The staff was very friendly. Check in is 2 pm or 3 pm - very strict, but can leave stuff in the office until you check in. Beach chairs are also sold to the general public/tourists off the Ferries, so if you don't claim a chair and stay there, they will take your stuff off and sell the lounges - which in my opinion is WRONG, especially when they advertise you will have lounges - this may or may not be true!!! The hotel doesn't provide beach towels, which is tough. Food at Chi-Chi C's is sub-par. The restaurants on the island are excellent however. We ate several places and never disappointed at all! Overall, we enjoyed our 5 nights at Chichis and Charlies.

A true 3-star experience. You get what you pay for, and the location is really the main highlight. The 6am garbage truck was so noisy and obnoxious every morning. The doors and windows don't seal, so they're very lofty and let in a lot of noise. Beach chairs and towels are limited, even for guests, but the onsite restaurant food/drinks are excellent. The TV was completely invisible/not watchable and only in Spanish with no subtitles options. Cleaning carts, supplies, and other misc items were often left just hanging around the halls and rooms - which just felt very unorganized and inconsiderate of what guests might think.

It was absolutely perfect except for one thing. There is no way to get in or out of the hotel or get to the check in office without walking in sand. Yes, I know it's a beach hotel, but sometimes I just don't want all sandy. Like when I'm showered and going out for the evening. I would still definitely stay again, just wanted to make others aware.

Unbeatable location. Take previous reviews with a grain of salt. Complaining about not having hand towels is bonkers. Who cares when you are right on North Beach?
The room was spotlessly clean, check in a breeze, poolside loungers and umbrellas provided without fail.
This is not a 5 star resort so don’t expect turndown service.
Instead enjoy the sound of the surf from the balcony, walk easily to town for dinner, order a delicious passion fruit margarita from the bar downstairs and watch the sunset.
I’ve stayed at numerous properties on the island and this is by far my favorite. I can’t wait to return.

There were not a specific front desk or reception, no wellcome. We tried to find where we will do check-in, trying to find someone to ask. The personel was not friendly; there was a very small, closed room which you call reception ??

Although we ate in the restaurant and stay at the hotel, the staff came near us and said that 'you can not rest in the beds at the beach which are in front of the restaurant of the hotel.'' He was so rude, and said that the beds are for rental (although most were empty) this is very nonsense !! ı am the costomer of the hotel (paid the room) but ı cannot rest in the beds on beach ??

The room, the towels were not clean enough, there was a garbage in the closet, a plastic bucket in bath.

no friendliness, no cleanliness, nothing at all.

During our stay, we asked the housekeeper if it was possible to switch one of our pillows for a softer one. She dismissed the request, saying all the pillows were the same. However, our friends staying in another room mentioned they had soft pillows available. Additionally, the housekeeping service consistently left us with just two towels each day—no hand towels and only one face towel (the second day, we didn’t have any the first day). This lack of attention to detail was disappointing especially being repeat guests.
The front desk gentleman that did the check in for us was very nice and helpful.

Best location in Isla on Playa Norte. Beach has eroded some but still plenty of room for beach chairs and umbrella, that are complimentary with stay. Water is crystal clear and warm. Rooms are basic with mini fridge and bottled water. Shower has no pressure, and pack your own hair dryer and beach towels.

I was hesitant to book once reading some of the reviews. I’m glad I booked it! The view from our mini suite was AMAZING! The room was clean and on the beach. It was walkable to town and we would definitely stay again!

We loved out top floor room with a large balcony area overlooking the ocean. The food serves from the bar area was good. it was disappointing the bar/food area did not open until later and they closed by 630-7 pm every night. that means if you wanted any food or drinks you had to leave the property to get it. Also the only way to lock the door of our room was to use the key even when you are inside the room. there was no deadbolt or anything. There was only 1 key for this room. That meant when my husband left to go into town and locked the door from the outside I was then essentially locked in. I think it would be better if each adult had their own key. The cleaning staff was friendly. We got 4 clean bath towels as needed but there weren't any hand towels or washcloths. When it was time for us to check out we could not find anyone in the lobby to help us or turn the key in. We had to drag all of our luggage down 46 stairs and then had drag it through the sand to get off of the property to get a taxi. The only way onto and off of the property is through the sand.

I would say the best part of this property was defiantly the view from out room. The staff was nice and the food from the bar was very good.

Downside- We were not able to find staff to check out with before leaving and ended up leaving the key on the counter of the office (wait staff directed us to do this) , only having 1 key for the room, and the early closing hours for the bar/grill area on property.

The view from the room on the third floor was pretty. The room was clean and cool. No beach towels. The restaurant is right in front and the music is playing from 10:00-6ish. They won’t let you sit in the chairs in front of the restaurant, you have to sit at the beach club to the right. The waitstaff there was nice. There is no breakfast or 2 for 1 that I had read somewhere.

Very nice property right on the beach. Would recommend paving right up to property. Hard to pull suitcase through sand. It is paved at back but doesn’t belong to them. We were asked not too use. Should work out a deal with them. Will stay again in next trip

Some positives, some negatives

On the positive side, the hotel is in a great location, right on the beach with beautiful views. Wonderful beach with nice lounge chairs. The rooms are clean and roomy, though very basic. On the negative side, there is no coffee and only two small bottles of water in the room. Access to the hotel is through a hundred yards or so of sand, making it difficult to carry luggage. There is a refrigerator in the room but no microwave. Internet is terrible; speed is not good, and the signal goes out constantly, requiring a reconnect. Customer service is spotty; if you need something from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 a.m. you’re out of luck, as the office is closed those hours.

Great location, right on the beach. The rooms were super clean. WiFi was awful, especially in the room at night and in the morning, which hampered planning activities. The AC unit flooded the room and management didn’t seem too concerned, left us with a dripping unit for the night.

The place was okay. I was a bit disappointed in the service. Cleaning the rooms was slow or sometimes didn't happen. They ran out of beach towels so I had to used my dirty bath towel. I had a view of the ocean but the walk way to all the rooms is in front of your picture window so you can't leave your curtains open unless you want everyone watching you.

Beautiful setting for a basic stay. The room was clean and comfortable. The bed is very firm, which I like but others may not. Waking up and seeing the water was amazing, especially for the price. We didn’t have much interaction with the staff. The was a coffee maker in our room but no filters or coffee. Jax bar on the corner has coffee options though. Lots of places to eat and drink close by

Great location, pleanty and easy parking for golf cart only, a few steps from the beach.
Only issue we had was the shower backed up, everything else was is good condition. Highly recommend.
