It was a decent hotel. Self-check-in if no one is there or after hours. There was no one there after 6pm or so (maybe 8pm), but couldn’t get another pillow. Breakfast was good. The location was a 15 minute walk to downtown. It was average and that was fine by us for a couple nights.

A fantastic stay!
Perfectly located within easy walking distance of both the old and new town, with tram and bus stops right outside. The bed and linens were the best l've ever experienced, and the super-soft, fluffy towels were a real treat. There's also a
gorgeous bakery just opposite.
The staff were wonderfully friendly and welcoming.
Breakfast was delicious, plenty of choice and available from 0700-1000.
Highly recommended!

Location good, uphill but only a 20 minute walk from train station.

This has been my worst hotel experience so far and I travelled a lot.

I’m okay with self check-in, but this should be notified to customers ahead of the time, and states clearly on your website. The self-check-in process is as smooth as it can be, but the European keyboard is not user friendly for international travelers. It takes me quite a few minutes to find “@“ on the keyboard while I was extremely tired and stressed about if I can check in.

The water fountain in the lobby has its tap broken.

The WiFi is free to connect with no password, but there’s no signage anywhere to notify the customer of how to connect WiFi.

When I get to the room, I was glad to see that there’s a water boiler. But guess what, there’s NO plug can fit in. This is rather a silly design. The charging plug issue goes same to the bed, where there’s no plug next to the bedhead, which is extremely inconvenient.

No info on the mini bar. There are items in the fridge but no price info can be found anywhere.

This is no air conditioner in the room. During my stay, the weather is fine. But I can’t imagine how to survive on a hot summer night. (There is heating system for the winter.)

The room has a weird shape (which is ok) but has a mirror facing directly to the bed. This is bad Fengshui, and the reason is that you get startled when you see the mirror in the middle of the night.

This is not a pleasant stay rather an escape room test. Overall, I like the concept of super

Full breakfast with a wide range of good food for all discerning travellers. Highly recommended.
Easy walk down to old town and central station but if you have heavy luggage I advise to take a tram. If in the morning buy a Zürich day pass for transport and museums etc.

There was a lack of staff after 5pm, ie no staff at all, so when we arrived at 11:30pm we could not even gt in, let alone check in. Luckily someone let us in and we contacted the staff by a helpline.

This hotel is little far from the central.. You have to walk 5 mins to the tram, then take the number 7 trăm, after 3 stops will get you to the central.. Breakfast is very simple (not much selection), also, rooms are very small compare to the price.

We got to the hotel during hot weather. As instructed online, I called the property the day before we checked in to ensure there would be portable AC in the room. However, we were told only fan is available in the 90+ degree weather.
We could not sleep during the nights. Won’t stay here again.

The hotel's location is excellent—right next to a tram and bus line, and just a short walking distance from Zurich's main train station. The breakfast is simple. The hotel was nice, but we got there after 6:00pm and the check in process was terrible. After I spent 30 minutes filling out a form on the computer, it failed. There was a phone next to the laptop with a HELPLINE, so someone did pick up and help me, but it was a pain after travelling all day. Other guests were telling me \"good luck with that\". The room was clean and the breakfast was okay and free with the room charge.

Nice European hotel steps from local rail and within walking distance to Old Town area of Zurich. Don’t expect a large US type room. Rooms and bathrooms are small, and they serve a traditional European breakfast- no bacon and eggs here. For the money, it’s a good hotel. If you’re looking for a larger brand, you’ll pay considerably more. I’d stay here again

We loved how quiet the hotel and surrounding streets are. The beds were very comfortable. And, the area was conveniently located. The staff was mixed. Cristina was great, making good dinner recommendations, and affording an early check-in. Another staff member, said, at 6:30 in the morning, that “she wasn’t here yet”(?) And, when I asked her to send a postcard back to the US, with their next mail, she seemed very put out. So, I asked for it back, and sent it myself. Not a friendly face, first thing in the morning, and terrible last impression. But, overall, we liked the hotel.

Conveniently right off the bus stop and within the Old Town of Zurich, 10 mins to the main train station. The hotel is small and compact but very clean and includes all the amenities. I love the rubber ducky. The breakfast was included with our room. It provides variety of breakfast items. The waffle is delicious and different to American ones. The outside seats are perfect to enjoy the morning meal.

We had an early train to catch so we decided to stay overnight in Zurich so we wouldn’t be late. Though it served its purpose, we have mixed feelings about this hotel. We were able to park in one of there four parking spaces and check-in before returning our rental car over by the main train station. The walk back to the hotel from there was not terribly long, but we wouldn’t want to make that walk with luggage, so we took a taxi back to the train station the next morning. We know that most hotel rooms in Europe are small, but other than the bed, everything else was tiny, including the shower. I think the bathroom was what most of our complaints are about. It really was not as clean as we would expect, the shower drain was very slow, so we were standing in a lot of water, and the hair dryer didn’t work. There was a portable AC unit in the room, and since it had been an unusually warm day for Zurich, it ran all night long to keep the room comfortable, so I’m glad that was there, as well as the complimentary water bottles. Also, the staff were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. We were able to check-in an hour early and they arranged for our taxi the next morning. Oh, there is a wonderful bakery right across the street that opens bright and early.

Well above what I expected.

The pre-check in online hadn't registered that we had paid via a third party and wouldnt let us fill in our details before arrival which was worrying, their first email response was quick and helpful, the second they just didnt respond to hiwever we managed to contact them directly. We were arriving late so were concerned but we had the door code and could fill everything in via the machine in the lobby which did know we had already paid.

The location is great, beds comfortable, room big enough (small bathroom). The breakfast was delicious and i loved the small details like the rubber duck in the shower, AC in room, free hand sanitizer in room and lobby and an umbrella to borrow.

Very happy overall after our stay! Price worth it.

Careful! You might be rebooked to another hotel!

I booked one night in hotel Sorel Rex, but was rebooked the same day to hotel sorel Rüttli, as hotel Rex... was closed. I understand that during the pandemic some hotels might close, but they shouldn’t be available for booking on hotels.com! I spent some time for looking for a hotel in Zürich near a park and with parking available, hence chose Rex but was rebooked to a hotel on a busy street and without parking ! I could leave my car at the closed hotel Rex, but then I needed to walk to hotel Rüttli 15 minutes - not ideal in rain... Hotel Rüttli was also not very clean and dusty. Our room was overlooking a dirty courtyard... The only positive feature was a nice breakfast buffet.

Would Book Again!

The hotel was very easy to get to from Zurich Banhoff train station. Check-in was quick and easy. The hotel looked very new and was very clean.

The room was very spacious, and was the best out of the five I stayed in during my time in Switzerland. The bathroom had a tub complete with a rubber duck! The bed was very comfortable including the pillows. The heating was adequate, and could be adjusted.

The breakfast was incredible and tasty. It was a delicious spread of all different food groups. I loved learning about all the locally sourced ingredients!

A fine choice

It was fine I guess, could use a couple improvements. Stayed in a single room where the single pillow was flat, and there was only one outlet which was not big enough for multiple devices. Dust in some parts of the room and some marks on walls. Breakfast is good depending on when you get there (if it's stocked). Tram line right next to hotel is convenient, Zurich is very walkable anyways though. Overall a fine choice.

Just stayed for one night. One negative is that rooms don't have a/c, just the common hotel areas. Our room just had a fan, we tried to keep windows open only to be woken up by some staff moving crates of bottles in the backyard early in the morning... Overall pleasing stay (location is within walking distance to old city and transportation to everything), but be aware of lack of a/c if hot weather is in the forecast!

The location of the hotel is excellent, downtown Zurich extremely close to the transit trains. The room did not have A/C, two floor fans, that was a little bit of a shock. The junior suite is very small, it looks like a standard room with an additional pull out sofa for two. Very tight for 4 people. The hotel does not have front desk attendants at night, you simply get in with your key. No staff at night. The breakfast was great each morning. The hotel is clean, it appears that it has been recently renovated. I don't know that I would stay there again as I require a bit more from a hotel stay, especially A/C and a bigger room for 4 people. But I will say that the staff was nice and the location is great.

The room should not be classed as a superior room. It was VERY small. The room next door to ours was larger. We were there during an extremely hot period. The air conditioning unit was useless. You had to stand right in front of it to cool down. It was also incredibly noisy so it was difficult to sleep in the heat with excessive noise. Other than that, the hotel was very clean. Bed was comfortable. We also got really good service from Shahed (hope that is the correct spelling). She was amazing and went out of her way to make our stay comfortable. The area was also great. Central and so close to public transport that works amazingly in Zurich.

I liked this hotel. It was only a 15 minute walk from the main train station. A tram stop is near the hotel also but I preferred to walk. It was close to the old town and university (ETH), but far enough away to be quiet. Local restaurants are nearby, tourist areas are also 15 minutes away.
The room was small but nice. The hotel staff were friendly, spoke excellent English, and the breakfasts were good. I would stay here again.

Lovely boutique hotel. Minimalistic yet room has mini fridge, Nespresso machine, water cooker (tea), spacious closet, umbrella, desk, flat screen tv, comfortable bed and pillow, and small shower with tiny sink. Great toiletries. Reception very welcoming and quick check in/out. Elevator and stairs available. English speaking. Wonderful breakfast area and delicious breakfast. Italian and upscale Mexican restaurants within 100 meters and open till 11pm. Bakery and deli across. 5 minute walk to Schaffhauserplatz. Down town 10 minute taxi/Uber ride. Note down town traffic is incredible slow and congested. Ideal for business trips and short stay overs. Would definitely come back.

We paid a bit extra and ended up staying in a fantastic room on the 5th floor which had 2 balconies! It was spacious and the facilities were excellent. Reception staff were very friendly and breakfast was superb - perhaps one of the best we have had on our Europe trip so far. The hotel is a short walk from the main train station and central area of Zurich. Highly recommended and will be staying here again if we ever come back!

This Place was wonderful from check in to check out. The daily breakfast buffet is delightful and the wait staff that works it was very pleasant. The hotel is a short walk or tram ride from the central station. It is an uphill walk, but that means lovely views from the room. It is also in a mostly residential area, so quiet at night.
