Hotel is conveniently located next to a large mall and subway station for easy/convenient access to central Paris.

The room was large and clean with a great, unobstructed view of central Paris, including the Eiffel Tower.

We liked the location which was close to the metro and a short walk across the bridge to Neuilly which we really like.

However, we thought this was a poor 4 star hotel.
- air conditioning in the room was poor which was not ideal when it was so hot over our stay
- the safe in the room was broken
- the hotel and room generally seemed in need of update - we stayed in this hotel many years ago and it does not appear to have changed since
- reception staff seemed not interested, and certainly not welcoming. On arrival, 2 reception staff were sitting talking in a separate room - certainly not business from body language, after some time waiting they came out, no bonjour, no welcome, just a look as we had disturbed their conversation. I may be wrong but it seems this hotel is so full of large group tours, they forget the individual.
- On leaving, reception again - wanted to charge a second time for city taxes which I had already paid on arrival. However, it was for me to prove I had paid so had to open my bank app to prove it - it seems they had problems with their IT systems which had not updated the payment
- a minor but indicative point, 2 small paper cups in the room for tea / coffee.

A hotel very close to the metro to gain access to all of Paris but without staying in the middle of the city.
Shame evening restaurant is no longer using the breakfast room to allow the current room to return to being a bar/bar snacks room for sitting and chatting. The lobby area is impersonal.

Stay was not good for the price paid. On the first night I could not sleep as room was too warm. I was told no air con do not start till April. Next day morning I could not get hot water in the shower. When complained I was told many people staking shower in the morning causes nonhot water. What a terrible system which can not manage it's capacity.

I’ve stayed in many Paris hotels, and if you’re expecting a 4-star, avoid this one. It should lose a star, and management needs to address the poor state. Clearly, guest experience is not a priority.

I paid £500 for 2 nights in a “superior” room with a view, but it felt more like a dated 3-star motel.

Check-in was bland—no interaction, no explanation of services, not even a confirmation of my booking. Staff seemed untrained.

The 10th-floor corridor was dark and outdated, and the room wasn’t any better—cramped, gloomy, and unclean. The only positive was the view of the Arc de Triomphe and Eiffel Tower.

The depressing color scheme of browns and grays made the room feel even worse.

Nothing about the room was \"superior.\" A few Rituals products don't compensate for the lack of basics like robes, slippers, or water. £250 per night for this?

The bathroom was tiny, with a faulty showerhead, and the loose socket was dangerous. The towels were so thin they were practically see-through. Clearly, the room wasn’t maintained.

Breakfast was chaotic. The food was poor, and the hot dishes weren’t even warm. The dining area was unclean.

This hotel isn’t any better than the IBIS next door. I’m just relieved I only stayed for 2 nights.

We didn't like the hotel at all. I don't know how it was considered 4 stars!! Our room floor looks disgusting and full of stains. We didn't have a mini fridge in our room to keep our water cool in the hot days we were there.

Good value for the money

Pro: close to metro line 1, which is a good line to be on (direct access to major tourist sites, if a bit far; this is metro Zone 3). Good location for the money.
Con: location-wise, this is a business district, nothing is open over the weekend; awkwardly located between traintracks and highways/bridges, so not walkable at all. I didn't book the breakfast thinking that I would eat around the hotel, but there was no good options. The breakfast was 19.50 Euros, which I thought was a bit pricey. The staff was very unprofessional, seemed very inexperienced. I complained about dirty grouts in the shower and instead of cleaning it, they offered me a free bottle of beer. They also didn't seem to be very knowledgeable about the area.
All in all, a solid 8/10, given the location and the value.

Extremely opposite of what has been shown in images on the website. Starting with access roads to hotel, then it’s parking (self-drive) was nightmare. Accessing parking gave extremely unsafe feeling as one has to navigate through multiple twists and turns to find spots that are for Novotel.

The receptionist is very terrible and appeared biased. Several issues: 1. No dinner or Lunch or willingness to accommodate when we have prepaid half board, 2. Rooms are extremely tiny! Don’t go by any photos on websites. Too tight, 3. Extremely poor quality condiments in the room….4. Air conditioner is actually an oven with its fan ON! Nothing works!! Terrible experience with Novotel, and will never use this one again ever!

2days before our stay we were moved to some other Novotel hotel that was more further from city center and was not more than 2 star though hotel claims it to be 4 star. It was not a pleasant stay or trip due to last moment change. Amenities and services were below standard and definitely not what we paid for. I’ve been using Expedia exclusively for the longest time and has not had this kind of disappointment and well anticipated vacation got ruined.

The staff were extremely courteous and friendly. The breakfast was good, the area around was quiet, but the metro station was a minute away. The room was not exactly spacious but was good. The sofa bed was very uncomfortable, but overall that could be overlooked. Had a wonderful view of the Eiffel Tower from our window too.

Love Paris!

Great trip to Paris. Only issue we had with the hotel was it was very hot in the rooms at night but once we asked at reception it was explained that there was a central air conditioning system and best not to have it on at all and it would be cooler! So last two nights were much better. Overall an excellent position to easily get into Paris. The metro was 2 minutes walk away and you just took the yellow M1 line in and you could get to the centre, there were loads of stops along this route leading to all the sites you’d want to see. Great holiday.

Location is great.. 3-4 minute walk to Esplanade de la defense station.. Make sure to use the yellow line . use metro not REM... Room was a bit smelly.. (My only complain) Other than that, breakfast was actually good. And we had a view to the Eiffel Tower. Pretty quiet.. Again, Location was great.. Wifi work sometimes!

Had a poor experience on my first travel through metro because of these thugs who tried to cheat me under the garb of helping when I didn't know how to use my ticket to enter the station.

... but, as with so many hotels who have multiple pillows on a bed, none of them is thin! Air conditioning, when turned to minimum, still has the sound of the fan. Better lighting than many hotels of this level, but still difficult to get bright enough lighting for work.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Novotel La Defense. We traveled with two small children and the room and bathroom were perfectly equipped for a family of 4. It was generously sized and having the two single beds pull out of the couch was great for our children. We also had an amazing view of the Eiffel Tower which was a nice bonus. Another key feature is it was less than a .10 of a mile to the metro and on a large line so very convenient to get anywhere in Paris. Only downside is being in the financial district there weren’t many places right around the hotel to grab something to eat.

Good link via metro to city. Metro station close. Takes about 30 minutes to get to centre. Area around hotel very modern, but nicely developed. 20 minute walk to RER Station, La defence. From there you can get to Versailles. It took us about 90 minutes to get to Charles de Gaulle airport
Friendly staff, quiet clean room, we were lucky and had room with view to Eiffel Tower in distance

Very expensive and no more than an average hotel.
The so called hotel parking took over an hour to find even asking hotel workers and very difficult to find. the route on foot to the hotel was via a lift and 2 sets of stairs in different building, very difficult with cases to carry.
the restaurant menu was very limited along with a drinks list. the service was indifferent with items missed from my order and the member of staff serving me being more interested in other things rather than serving.

the service was very poor. when i asked for an iron to be brought to my room i was told they were far too busy to do that...and that i had to go to a room on the 8th floor.No what you expect when you are paying over 200 euros a night. The breakfast room was chaotic with no where to sit.

Very convenient location. 2 min walk to the metro station which goes to pretty much all the major sites in Paris. Staff was super friendly at check in.

The only issue we had was the cleanliness of the room. We found a finger nail in the sink right after we entered the room. There were also pieces of hair that was clearly not cleaned off around the sink. Makes us wonder if this place has been cleaned at all since the last guest left. Very disappointing.

Not a nice hotel, I felt it as soon as we walked in the lobby.
We could only stay there one night before moving to a nearby hotel (Novotel wouldn't give us a refund) that gave us a better experience for our first time in Paris.

The rooms were barley clean and the bed was the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept in.

Do not stay here-there are a number of nearby hotels that are so much better at similar price.

An Amazing Time in Paris

WE were greeted with a Warm welcome and was given a brief history of the hotel. Depending on what floor and time of day you are able to see the Eiffel Tower. The front desk is Amazing, Helpful & understanding. We ordered room service once, the soup was delightful. Everything else was lackluster. The from the bar was EXCELLENT.

Hotel was part of the package from Expedia. The rooms are small, but reasonably clean. The quality of the rooms compared to US hotels would be like 2.5*. We also complained about room being too hot, and they said all we could do was turn off the heat. No fans in the room not is there a separate heater/ac per individual room. This was a major problem throughout the stay.

I have stayed at the Novotel La Defense hotel a couple of years previously. The main reason I liked this hotel was the short distance of the Metro line 1 directly into the city, which is very handy and runs like clockwork every day of the year. But, the window in the room cannot be opened, which would be fine if the air con worked ok. But, it does not, the room is incredibly hot even when the aircon is put on max. This is during a xmas visit as well! God knows what it is like during the summer months. In my last stay a couple of years ago the air con was poor but was just about ok, now it is complety useless and needs a major overhaul. The overly hot room is a real deal breaker for me and I will not stay in this hotel again.

The breakfast is ok, for Paris, which is really expensive. The cooked breakfast is the same everyday; scrambled egg, sasauges, bacon and hash brown, but just about ok. But, unlike in my last visit there is not sliced tomatoe or cucumber on offer, which is a negative. Coffee is good and orange, apple juice is ok.

The lifts upto the rooms are cramped, very old style, and are really busy in the morning rush for breakfast as the cleaning staff take over one lift which cannot be used. The view of the effiel tower is a plus point but cannot make up for the overall negative experience.

Direct Metro into Central Paris

Having stayed before when working in Paris, went to see changes etc. Has sufficient amenities if not expecting to stay at hotel all day. It is a business users sleep over but ideal to \"do\" Paris. Pre-purchased metro tickets allowed daily trips in/out of all the main sites and if rush hour avoided was a trouble free experience.
If ever back in Paris would certainly be my hotel of choice as not wanting big pools, spars and children's playgrounds when having evening drinks etc.

Small refrigerator in room. Small safe in room. Curtains mostly good at blocking the light.

Air conditioning was inadequate. Set the room temp for \"15C\" and the room at best was 74F (usually hotter). This was quite annoying at night. The bed only had one of those thick quilts, no sheet, nothing lighter. So in sleeping the choice was swelter or sleep without any covering.

No drawers in room, no place to unpack. Limited hangers in closet. No clothesline in shower.
