The property was pretty nice, the rooms were in need of a little updating, but overall served its purpose. The staff was friendly and somewhat helpful. This was our first time in Turks so we are not sure how it compares to others. We were expecting a little more for the price we paid compared to other islands we visited. We were a family of 6 and booked two rooms a 1 bedroom w/ a full kitchen and a junior suite with just a mini fridge and sink. The junior suite had an issue with the AC upon arrival, so a few of my kids were in limbo for the first 2 days, but were put into a 3rd(top) floor ocean front suite until they were able to get them another room. They enjoyed making TikTok’s on the huge balcony! We should have just not left that room, but they insisted that an “owner” had booked it and we had to leave it. So after that inconvenience my kids were able to settle in. The beach was absolutely beautiful which we tried to focus on most of the trip! If we ever decide to return to Turks we will definitely try another hotel, but this was probably a one and done destination… the prices are so ridiculous and really, the water is just as beautiful in most of the Caribbean!

It was our first time visiting Turks and Caicos, honestly one of the most beautiful beaches we have been to. The property was nice but a little outdated. We visited the sister properties which were much more modern and upgraded. However the beach and the service by the staff at the beach was phenomenal!! The guys were always helpful and friendly. The staff at the front was not as charismatic unfortunately. The property is a short walk away from a few restaurants and shops. I love that they offer excursions right off the beach, we didnt have to go anywhere, our snorkeling boat came right up to the shore to get us. Overall i recommend it if you are going with family and need the space , as the rooms were fully stocked apartments, however if going as a couple or with friends you may want to consider one of their sister properties.

My friends and family had an amazing stay at this hotel. The hotel was peaceful and intimate. The staff were all very pleasant and supportive . Hats off to Meshell Especially .She was awesome. She made sure all our needs were met and made us feel at home.
The rooms were very clean, and lastly, the ocean was breathtaking. It was the most beautiful I have ever seen.
I would definitely revisit.

The property was beautiful and very well maintained, our room was excellent with an amazing view, and the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The restaurant food was outstanding. We had a wonderful vacation and would definitely stay here again!

I was very impressed with the accommodations, having a microwave and refrigerator plus all the kitchen utensils was so helpful. Didn’t expect but totally appreciated having an in room washer/dryer as well. I didn’t realize how much that comes in handy! So much convenience for the money. Read previous reviews and was worried that the room would be dated but everything was beautifully updated and clean. Like others have said the construction next door at the St Regis is an issue but not as bad as the past, seems like they are further along at this point 05/2026. It does start at sunrise on Monday morning with slight hammering and machinery but I would do it again just to enjoy all that The Sands has to offer. The sound quickly blends in with the waves and the birds. One of the best beaches and not crowded like some of the all inclusive resorts down the way. I hope all of that doesn’t change when the St Regis opens. New Construction is going on all over the island so hard to find any resort that doesn’t have something huge being built next door. The weather was warm in the 80’s and humid so felt more like 90 with just a couple of rainy days in between which helped to cool things down. I would definitely return next year at the same time. I prefer less crowds and better price over perfect weather. Coming from CA we get enough of that. Crystal clear warm water, clean sand, amazing snorkeling, great food, friendly people and a relaxing island vibe is what I came for and received.

The Sands was a fine hotel but they fell short in several areas.

Staff was generally unfriendly- specifically restaurant, store and front desk. There was an ant problem outside the room each night and we did find a few ants in our room.

Room layout is awesome! Location also helpful. We like a resort feel and felt The Sands did a poor job of making guests feel pampered. Was very difficult to get beach service and when we did it arrived in a paper takeout bag. Also, there are very few game activities for teens.

This property was really nice. We will definitely stay there again next year. Compared to Seven Stars this place has a sleep sofa in the one bedroom. Hemingway's restaurant never disappoints. Staff was on point and so friendly. Close to downtown no need for expensive taxi.

Our 2nd stay at this property and confirmed for us that this is our place. They have everything one would need. The staff is quite awesome- particularly Percy who determined that he would not be able to get parts for the washer/dryer- replace it with a new unit on a Saturday night!

Every unit offers a screened in porch- very nice to sit and have a glass of wine in the evening.

Salt Mills is a quick 10-15 minute walk for shopping.

Perfect for families with small children. They have a small kids pool right next to the larger pool right by the beach making it easy to bounce back and forth. There is no breakfast included and the small shop closes at 5 pm making it difficult to get things like bottled water and supplies for the next morning if your arrival is late.

The location of the property is great. Beautiful beach and close to everything. The furnitures in the unit are in good condition and aesthetically pleasing. The building and the actual suite is dated tho and not very well maintained. Overall, the hotel rate is good considering the location of this resort but will likely not stay there again.

We spent 9 nights in the ocean view suite.Very beautiful garden veiw as well.We had a great time staying at The Sands Grace Bay.Our room.was modern, very clean and comfortable. Thanks to our wonderful housekeeper Dueila who made sure our space was freshened up each day.She even converted the twim beds in the room to a queen so my daughter and her partner could rest well.
It would be nice to replace the washer and dryer units in the suite.They dated and rusting.

Thanks to the bell attendants Oral,Samuel and AJ who assisted us with our luggage.They were
warm and welcoming from the first day we got there.They were approachable,respectful and kind in sharing ideas of things to do and places to visit while on the island.Miss you guys tons.

Big shout out to Anatalie housekeeping manager who immediately acknnowleged our concerns we had with linen on our pull out coach. Michelle and Diane from front desk were amazing.

The only cons to this trip was the service at Hemmings way restaurant was below standard .The service was atrocious. The staff there was rude and unfriendly. We had to ask for menu's.
Our server didn't check on us after ordering, she was so unprofessional. She had no enthusiasm in providing service.

No entertainment on property which was boring.
The sands is grest place to unwind relax on the beautiful turquoise beach.Lots to experience on the island.Lovely destination.

Turks and Caicos is an expensive island so there was good value in staying at The Sands. They are within walking distance to a small downtown area and to their sister hotel, The Palms. Food at Hemingway’s was good and the restaurant is conveniently located close to the pool and beach, however they have a tiny bar area and infrequent service to the beach area. There would be better use of space if they had a bar area on the deck closer to the beach. We had some issues with our lights not shutting off completely in our room and no water at times. There is massive construction going on next door to the hotel, with multiple high rises being built. They do start early in the morning and go until sunset so ask to stay closer to the beach if that would affect you. We heard there were shuttles to the sister properties but they were infrequent and didn’t show up when we expected them. Overall the staff was friendly and accommodating and the beach is beautiful. We would go back.

The grounds are well kept. The rooms have been updated and were clean. The staff were nice and very helpful setting up chairs on the beach. Its a great location. We walked to many restaurants from the hotel. I didnt give it 5 stars because housekeeping needs improvement. We stayed 7 nights. One night our room was not cleaned at all, no new towels. They only refilled the coffee twice so we had to go to the grocery store and buy coffee. They didnt take out the garbage a few times, leaving it overflowing. It was nothing that ruined our time. But worth taking note of. Construction noise wasnt bad and our room was beside it. There is Construction happening all over the island with more hotels/ condos, so dont let that deter you from staying here. I would stay here again.

Our 2nd stay at the Sands. We love the rooms and our favorite part about the Sands is the screened in porches. Those porches are honestly the only reason why we stay there. Hemingways the restaurant on site is great and the beach is gorgeous. The gym definitely needs improvements. Great hot tub and pools and the people that work there are very nice. We will be back!

After being told our third-floor room had no elevator, the desk staff asked if we wanted them to bring up our luggage. I said yes, asked if it would be delivered quickly, and was told yes. Over two hours and two phone calls later, our luggage finally reached our room, which was a 2-3 minutes walk away.

I recently stayed at The Sands at Grace Bay in Turks and Caicos and had a truly wonderful experience. The property itself is beautiful with pristine beachfront, well-kept grounds, and a relaxed yet elevated atmosphere that made for a perfect getaway.

What really made the stay stand out, however, was the exceptional service from the team, particularly Shedna at the front desk and Sasha at the concierge. Shedna was warm, professional, and incredibly helpful from check-in through the duration of our stay, making sure everything ran smoothly and that we felt welcomed and taken care of. Her attention to detail and genuine hospitality did not go unnoticed.

Sasha at concierge was equally amazing, knowledgeable, responsive, and thoughtful in her recommendations. She helped coordinate activities, dining reservations, and transportation with ease, ensuring we made the most of our time on the island. Her expertise and friendly demeanor truly elevated our experience.

Overall, The Sands at Grace Bay offers not only a stunning location but also outstanding service thanks to staff like Shedna and Sasha. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Turks and Caicos and would happily return in the future.

I stayed at Sands in 2018 and went back with my sister November 2025. Everything was exactly as I remembered it!!! The best thing about the Sands is the staff. Front desk and Hemingways are super, but a special shout-out to Jose and the guys on the beach! I lost my phone (with all of my son's wedding photos that I hadn't had a chance to back up) in the ocean in a waterproof cover. They jumped in with snorkel gear, and Jose came up with it.....I have never been so relieved! They turned what could have been a disaster of a vacation into a relaxing, enjoyable time. They didn't want any money, but were happy to help me. I will DEFINITELY go back (already planning for next November), perfect weather!

Upon arrival I did not feel welcomed by the front desk. She was very rude possibly was being racist just because I saw her treat someone else differently. Our room had a bad stench to it. We couldn’t shower comfortably because our shower would get cold after 3 minutes. After my stay I tried emailing the stay and they are unresponsive. Definitely not coming back. Book somewhere else this is not a 4 star hotel. More like a 3 star.

If you want \"fine\" this is your place. I have to say, the staff was OK, nothing exceptional, also nothing bad. The room was fine, there was no one at the resort so nothing was crowded, but there was a TON of construction all around which was BEYOND disappointing and very disturbing. Not only the new resort being built NEXT DOOR so there was CONSTANT cranes and hammering and drilling and TONS of noise from that, but also this resort seemed to be doing lots of repairs on units as well so there was jackhammering of tile patios and hammering with screened porches being replaced, and not just like a few minutes of noise, it was ALL DAY from 8am until 4pm! No peace and quiet by the pool, no peace and quiet at the beach. In fact, they were also replacing the boardwalk access to the beach so there was that inconvenience and noise as well. I truly wish someone had been honest about all of this in my booking, I would have chosen a different property. Instead they hid this and made my vacation to celebrate my birthday very annoying and unenjoyable. At least Tracy and Carolyn and the restaurant staff were nice, sad, but true that was the highlight of the entire week!

The Sands was a lovely resort. Grace Bay is our favorite place in the world and The Sands is also conveniently located to the shopping area as well. We loved the pool facing the ocean and the restaurant on site was cute. However, I would not reserve a first floor Garden Suite again. We were disappointed in ours as the patio area was enclosed and there was no airflow. It was very hot and surrounded by foliage so felt a little claustrophobic. We asked to be moved to the second floor and the staff was very lovely and accommodating. Our second floor suite was very nice!

The st Regis is currently under construction and it’s in the very early stages. Needless to say it was extremely noisy. At times the staff felt a little cold, particularly at the restaurant. The grounds were under maintenance, which we were not made aware until check in. The highlight was how beautiful the part of grace bay that the sands sits on. It was unmatched.

Stayed at The Sands for 5 nights. Construction nextdoor at future St. Regis Resort is constant, 7 days a week, and work begins at 7AM and lasts all day. The sawing and power tool sounds penetrate the rooms and can be heard while trying to relax on the beach / at the pool as well. We didnt have a working TV in our living room the entire stay after 2 calls on 2 different days to request it be fixed. Toilet clogged in one of the two bathrooms and no one came to fix it (someone in our party had to fix it themself).
The beach and pool area were great and Hemingway’s was a nice restaurant on-site. Close proximity to the town as well.

Love the property's facilities, clean pools, lovely private beach with amenities, spa at the resort, in the resort lively bar and restaurant, shuttle service to other resorts/ restaurants, complimentary bike and kayaking, and staff is very helpful arranging water sport activities, kids friendly atmosphere

Easily walkable to coffee in the morning, along with shops for souvenirs. Beautiful Grace Bay beach, well kept, helpful staff always around to help with chair setups, lots of beach chairs, wifi good and strong even at the beach, and parking was free at the hotel for our rental car. It was all perfect.

The property itself was beautiful. Great beach and in a good spot easily walkable to the downtown area. There were a few quirks with our room (toilet was broke and they ran out of body wash) which were annoying. The restaurant on site was decent but not amazing. My biggest hang up was the staff was not super friendly or accommodating which you’d think they would be seeing as their jobs exist with tourism. There was construction next door but it didn’t really bother us. Overall, id stay there again if I had to. It was really nice. I might try another resort next time just to compare.

Beautiful property. As someone who vacations to Cancun and St.Thomas, the beach at the resort was just as if not more beautiful. The water is photoshop version blue and warm. The beach itself in terms of the sand is the deeper kind of sand so a bit tough to walk through but not rocky at all. The beach could be picked up better as there was some garbage around and things left on chairs multiple days. Pools and “lazy river” are great, the pool closest to the beach was way too warm but the other two are cooler. Loved that there are little nooks and crannies with loungers for privacy and quiet. They are building a big resort next store but the noise from it was not annoying and not super noticeable. As many people have said, the service as Hemingways restaurant is sooo slowwww. The food is average there but the sister resorts food is great and there is a free shuttle that will take you to those every hour. It’s a very relaxing, very beautiful, a calm vibe all around. The pools do not have the loud music and people trying to get you to play volleyball and do yoga like Cancun does. It’s much more serene and leave you alone. The only big negative was the spa. It was not a spa, it was a room that was sterile and not calm or relaxing at all. The actual massages themselves were poor quality and it is VERY expensive. As someone who gets massages regularly, and for my much cheaper, I was very disappointed I paid anything for that service, let alone what it actually cost.

Great Beach. Restaurant and beach staff were awesome. Only issue was our initial room was a dark dingy room on the first floor. It felt like we were in a NYC basement apartment not in Turks. We never stayed in that room and were moved to a 2nd story pool view room, which is what you expect when you go to an island. Even the layout of the new room was much better. Property is nice just make sure you don't get a first-floor room with no views.
