Unfortunately the hotel seemed to have some issues with the water heater. We got cold water in the shower in the morning for 3 days. We raised a complaint with the front desk but the issue persisted.

One of the nicest hotel stays I have ever experienced. Staff was professional and accommodating, perfect location with dozens of dining options all within a 5 minute walk. Half a block from the metro. The beds were extremely comfortable and the entire facility was very clean. This hotel is highly rated and I would stay here again next time I visit Amsterdam! A+++

Great experience as a female solo traveller. Staff were all incredibly friendly. Price was it’s just out of central Amsterdam so much more affordable, yet close enough that you just walk a block to the metro and head wherever you want. Was also very easy to get to by transit from the airport.

Room was clean and bed was very comfortable. I had a basic room and just wish there had been more areas to put things (more hooks for towels and areas to put clothing and cosmetics etc) but it was good enough for what I needed. There were two hooks about the shower but I’d need to be two feet taller to access them lol

Tip: I asked for a room at the back away from street noise as recommended by other travelers and it was very quiet that way. However because I was in a room that had an ajoinint door to another room I could hear noise from that room. When I mentioned this to hotel staff they immediately offered to move me so were very responsive.

Overall great find and great location for the price point, would return!

A well located hotel in Amsterdam - very close to the metro, lots of restaurants, cafes & bars on your doorstep.

The deluxe room although not massive was well laid out. The bathroom is integrated into the room rather than a separate bathroom. Great to have a room equipped with an iron & ironing board rather than having to call down to request one like many other hotels.

Staff were very friendly upon arrival with welcome drinks offered, bags stored & an email notification received promptly once the room was ready.

An enjoyable stay whilst in Amsterdam.

We really enjoyed the location, you can easily walk to the market, the train and subway stations are nearby, and there are plenty of places to rent a bike, enjoy a nice meal, or simply grab a good coffee. The neighborhood was lovely, and the location felt perfect.

I do wish the hotel had a rooftop, as I could see the sunset from my window and it would have been wonderful to experience it from there. Overall, the hotel was clean, had a pleasant scent, and the staff was very helpful.

The only downside was that I was charged the city tax twice: once upon arrival and again on my departure date. This could have been avoided if the system had been updated right away.

Great stay at Sir Albert

We had an amazing stay at Sir Albert. We were returning guests (having first stayed a few years ago) - and the staff were as friendly as ever and so generous. We were also celebrating our recent engagement and they made our trip extra special with a lovely card and celebratory drinks. Would highly recommend as it’s a lovely modern but cosy hotel, in a great area (a short walk into the centre of town), and with a well kitted gym just a few doors down.

Great location and hotel.

Great hotel! We were welcomed with a lovely glass of Prosecco. The hotel was really modern. It had what looked to be a great restaurant attached to it but it was fully booked so didn’t get to try! The room had everything it needed.

I loved the area, had great vibe to it feel like a local area but still only 4 mins to central by the metro.

I also loved the little gift they provided on departure. Great touch!

Amazing hotel! Location is great, very close to the Pijp subway station, close to many restaurants and museums. Rooms are well maintained and the shower is one of the best I have found in hotels lately (very important after a tiring day of tourism or work). Furthermore, the staff is a delight to deal with.

Best thing: they provide infinite bottles of great mineral water (sparkling or still) to all guests! It is amazing, truly loved that amazing perk!

Thanks for the great service, Sir Albert. Will definitely come back whenever in Amsterdam!

I stayed here for 4 nights. The area is safe as I was traveling solo. There is a Spar and Jumbo store close by, if you need any basic stuff. The staff is very nice and friendly. Hotel restaurant Izakaya is a must-try for some yummy food. Walking distance to the city center and other spots. No complaints, highly recommend this place.

Amsterdam stay

Great location. Safe neighborhood to walk. Very close to museums, bakeries, restaurants, the market, metro, shops are only a few minutes away. Hotel staff are really pleasant. Just have to remind things forgotten for room cleaning.

This hotel is in an historical building, but the interior lobby and rooms are modern, optimistic, warm and well designed. Sir Albert Hotel is one block away from the Rijks Museum, Van Gogh Museum and local neighbourhood street with many small shops, restaurants and bars, plus an outdoor street fare every day with dozens of street side vendors for food and gifts. The Metro station is just two blocks away. Quite convenient in central Amsterdam for meetings and entertainment.

Genuinely one of the best Amsterdam Hotel experiences we have had, the staff service, facilities and bed is excellent. Be wary that the snacks are all chargeable, and tip the room service. Will definitely stay again.

Staff was lovely. Room was a bit smaller than expected which made storage of our suitcases a bit tough but it’s a European hotel so par for the course. Location was decent. Not far from Museum Quarter. Easy quick walk to the tram to get to further destinations within city center. Breakfast was great every morning as well.

First of all, the pictures are deceiving. We were supposed to have a city view with the deluxe room and a skylight. The windows in our room faced the alleyway looking into other apartments. If you're booking there for the air conditioning, forget about it! The lobby is cool and air-conditioned but there is no cool air coming out of the vents in the room and it was hot as blazes! In addition, we were overcharged for a breakfast we never had and received additional unknown charges after checking out! Also, the staff at Izakaya are homophobic/transphobic as they asked my 24 year old to leave the restaurant under the pretense they were not conforming to the \"dress code\" as they had \"sportswear\" on while other guests were in jeans and shorts!!!

The Sir Albert is an excellent hotel for visiting the highlights of Amsterdam: museums, parks, canals. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The rooms are modern and clean. We were on the first floor facing the street but really no road noise.

Great stay in Amsterdam!

A wonderful boutique style hotel in spite of high capacity: very well equipped, super comfortable and positioned rooms (we stayed in 240 facing the courtyard), fantastic service, and unbeatable location close to transportation and all attractions but yet away from downtown hassle. Highly recommend it!

Uncomfortable bed (& pillows!). Slimy bathroom floor.

Asked to keep windows closed because ...'they had been pro-active about a wasp nest'.

Allocated room was not as advertised - no city view or loft style windows. This was followed by ridiculous excuses blaming 'marketing' or implying computers can't do inventory & offer of a smaller room (420) with a balcony (rain forecast) & request to leave a good review! Try providing the services advertised first, then asking for positive reviews.

Comfortable room and good service

Front desk very helpful. Got me a housecall from a GP when i was ill. Extra charges such as laundry or room service are very high. Comfortable room with good bed and non synthetic pillows. Cleaners sometimes forgot to replenish coffee pods and creamer.

Highly recommend to stay here.. Mattress was extremely comfortable , and the reception were able to recommend a few local restaurants to dine in, as their in house Japanese restaurant was fully booked . Definitely will be coming back .

Avoid at all cost

The worst hotel experience probably ever - hotel restaurant plays loud techno until 2am mid-week, which makes it impossible to sleep. When I complained, I was explicitly told that the hotel management prioritizes the restaurant over hotel guests.

Additionally, the decor was tired and the room appliances were broken. Hotel reception then struggled to issue the right bill.

Top Hotel in Amsterdam!

Really cool hotel, very modern but with some old details. Staff was friendly and helpful. Visited during Covid times so they did not clean the room but you could call to get anything refilled. Loved the room on the top floor (4th). I always like having a coffee maker and kettle in the room.
One of the best hotel gyms I’ve seen. It is in another building just a minute walk down the street though. Small but very well equipped.
Good location close to many of the museums. Plenty of shops and dining opportunities nearby. Metro station also just a few minutes walk away.
Overall a great stay and I would definite recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Amsterdam!

Really good service, great location, comfy beds but the cleanliness of the room wasn’t fantastic, there was a lot of dust under the beds and after accidentally spilling sugar on the first day, we noticed this wasn’t hoovered throughout our 4 night trip! everything including the radio and desk just needed a dust, there was also mud in the room which wasn’t cleaned either throughout our trip. The location was great and the beds were comfy ! the staff were friendly and it was a shame the cleanliness just let the hotel down a bit !

hospitable comfortable and super pleasant

our visit was superb right from the start. we were welcomed warmly and enjoyed some prosecco during check-in. the staff was uniformly welcoming, pleasant and eager to help. in fact, i overheard staff tell other guests about options to purchase needed items (or meals) that were a little less expensive down the street than in the hotel itself! that is truly good customer service. the venue is well-appointed and well-situated. the room was efficiently laid out, and very clean and comfortable. i didn't learn everyone's name (unfortunately) but Yasha and Sabine provided particularly wonderful service. this was a great visit.

Not worth it, and poor service

First of all, the hotel is not good value for the price. I stayed there with my parents and in both of our rooms the bathrooms clogged. In my room everything was constantly clogged- the shower, the sink, and the toilet. The shower was a tiny cabin with nowhere to even hang your towel, and water spilled out into the room. I get that it's an old building but this is not acceptable. Service was also poor- I left my eyeglasses behind and it took them 2 days to identify them, and another 2 days to ship them to me, which they did using the slowest option although I specifically told them I needed them urgently- I can't see!. Now my glasses are lost and I certainly won;t stay there again or recommend it. Oh, and they had a DJ brunch in the restaurant on Sunday which was super loud, and dare I say trashy...

Very well located hotel for the museum district and access to the metro.

Room was clean and comfortable with good amenities.

Staff in the hotel were friendly and helpful.

The only issue during my stay was one waiter strictly informing me during breakfast that “we don’t serve ketchup as we’re a Japanese restaurant”... Only for his colleague to bring some over to me a few minutes later.

If I’d ordered sushi I’d fully agree with his “disgusted” tone, however they were serving eggs and bacon!

Good hotel but rude receptionists.

Everything with the hotel good, -as usual. With work perhaps 10th time I stay there. However, rude staff at check in. We were four colleagues sharing to rooms. One of uscouldnt join the trip so we were at the end three people. One person in room 1, and two people in room 2. The receptionist(s) were both difficult and rude to sort this out and told us they should send us to another hotel as changing name was against the law, but they were find to solve it for this time. In general good hotel, but for the price I expect different service from staff.
