This was a terrible experience! Do not stay here. The front desk person was rude. Our room was in the basement, the ceiling had a leak, the sink did not drain. The shower was so small, you could not turn around. I asked to be moved to another room as we were staying there for 6 days. I was told NO! Upon checkout, at 11:05 as we were leaving the room, the same rude staff person was at our door making sure we were leaving.

Reception manager was extremely helpful, polite and welcoming. The location is very good, convenient for Paddington but also quite, plenty of restaurants and cafes nearby and a few minutes from Hyde Park. The building is tastefully renovated and very clean.

There aren’t any elevators/lifts. That’s not too much of a problem despite having a lot of luggage for our type of trip. However the hallways are narrow. There’s a surcharge for breakfast which I wasn’t aware of. I decided to spend money elsewhere for breakfast instead of the hotel’s since theirs was sparse. A decent place to rest my head. Would I choose a different hotel next time? Yes.

Lovely hotel, very clean and well maintained. The staff are friendly and helpful, whilst still being professional. An easy walk between Queensway and Paddington tube stations, lots of restaurants, cafes and small shops nearby, but immediate area is quiet and peaceful. Hyde park is nearby, a good location.

Very clean, usable room. Light and bright. Decent space for price. Nice location. Down side, 3rd floor is 4 1/2 steep flights of stairs. No elevator. Recommend showering at night. We had no hot water either morning. Having said that, I would definitely stay there again. Loved sleeping with the window open with the autumn breeze.

There was no curtain on my bedroom window and whilst I appreciate such repairs cannot happen immediately, no makeshift window covering was offered and as a result I was awoken at sunrise.
My friends room had rain coming through the ceiling onto her bed and whilst they moved and changed the bed the ceiling wasn’t repaired and therefore risked it happening again. Having subsequently read online reviews it would appear this has been an issue for weeks.
The single rooms all appear to be on the 4th floor and there is no lift available. Which is unsuitable for people with mobility problems.

It was very nice, we encounter an episode with an unhappy customer who was suggesting to find a different hotel, we decided to keep our reservation and were glad, we did! Please don’t go by the reviews, people sometimes are mean and bad review could ruin a business, just because things don’t go their way, we had an amazing stay!

Absolutely horrible experience. No help from management after there was literally yellow “water” leaking from our ceiling onto one of the beds. Their “solution” was to have the people directly above us stop their shower. When I went to ask for help again because it continued no one was to be found to help. Tried contacting management about a refund as we did not want to continue our stay given the circumstances and still have yet to hear back.

Very nice hotel, arriving at 10.30 am I was given my room key down the basement level but was very clean and comfortable and had everything needed for my stay (fan, hairdryer, clean towels daily)

Very safe area with plenty of food options within 2-3 minutes of the hotel. Easily accessible to two tube stations getting to central London in about 10-12 minutes.

Dont be put of by the negative reviews this place is perfect for a stay in London and would definitely recommend and will be staying again on my next visit

The room was very small but we knew that so I’m not deducting stars for that. There was zero room decor. Nothing. White walls. Nothing anywhere. There was no warning of the 73 very steep (and some very narrow) steps to our room. Our “double” bed was, in fact, two twins pushed together. They were slightly different heights with one quite squeaky. Towels were thin & rough. Shower corners were a bit dirty. No AC. Grateful the window opened wide although our friends room window only opened 5 inches. Heat was a small portable heater but we did not need that while staying. Sink in bathroom was very small with low pressure. The shower water pressure was so poor there was no way any of us could wash hair. And the water temperature changed constantly throughout each shower from scalding to cold to normal. Great location! Easy walk from Paddington Station.

I stay in London once a week for work so I'm looking for somewhere that is clean and comfortable to stay but on a budget. After reading a couple of the extreme reviews, I wasn't sure what to expect but i was very pleased with my choice.

The hotel is extremely clean, tidy and well presented. I stayed on the 4th floor in a double room - it has by far been the most spacious room I've stayed in thus far when staying but also very notably clean.

When I thought about it, the room could have very easily been a Premier Inn or similar.

If I was to highlight any negatives - There were a few marks here and there and general wear and tear but nothing to cause offence. The shower could be a bit more powerful. And the stairs and general layout to the rooms is a bit strenuous and tricky. But for the price tag, being so close to 3-4 a number of tube stations (one being a major rail hub) and by attractions (like Kensington Palace), I think it's brilliant.

OK but wouldn't stay here again

The room was in a lovely and convenient location, however it was very tiny. The bathroom was added into the already small room and the bed was against a window with no headboard. Our pillows kept sliding back and off all night long. You are only allowed 1 room key and they can not give out another but will let you into your room if you are a registered guest. Overall it was fine for a couple nights but I would not stay here again.

I had to leave around midnight because I found what looked A LOT like bedbugs in my bed. The front desk was staff was understanding but management refused to authorize a refund. I don't recommend risking bedbugs despite the price and somewhat convenient location.

Bed was comfortable, but the curtains didn't keep the morning light out of the room (luckily I had an eye mask for the 2nd morning) and the walls we super thin - I could easily hear the occupants of the next room talking and their alarm in the morning sounded like it was on my bedside table! Also no outlets or lamps on the bedside tables. Nonetheless, the hotel is in a great walkable area with lots of shops and places to eat nearby.

I so wanted to give a good review but i just cant. Though well situated, this propertysmacks of owners not wanting to spend any money. From cracked and leaking ceiling, to cracked floor tiled, a tv the size of a postage stamp, a shower cubicle so small you better pray you dont drop the soap or you will have to step out and lean back in to pick it up…and no toilet brush!!! Property has two redeeming features… its proximity to 3 different train stations and Ms MK at reception who is a delight to deal with and a credit to the hotel

We were travelling with our daughter. As there were no single rooms listed as available, we booked and paid in advance for 2 twin rooms. We arrived to be informed one of the twins had been converted into 2 singles - which introduced the prospect of having paid for more than we were getting. It took some effort to address…
The rooms were clean and functional if not frills e.g. art work.
The area is sake, ok and walkable from Paddington. But there aren’t a lot of restaurants and shops.

Well to begin, we’re a family of 5 adults that booked 2 rooms and we all agreed that this was the worst hotel we have ever experienced. We are all avid travelers and have stayed in a variety of hotels (boutique types, luxury, B&B, etc) and this is by far the worst. We were treated poorly from the instant that we walked in and the ill -treatment continued until the day we checked out and by ALL staff members (they were all equally rude). It seemed like we were all a nuisance for them from the start and customers service is non existent at this place. The rooms are extremely small and uncomfortable, which is expected at this type of hotel, however, one of the rooms felt like a boiler room for some reason (even on cool 50s- 60 degree nights with the window open). We couldn’t figure out how the hallway was cooler than the room. The room also seemed to be an old storage room that was turned into a room. We asked to be moved and the staff very sternly said nothing else was available, and when I say sternly I mean condescending and dismissive. To be clear, we would have possibly been better off at a hostel. We hated the thought of going back to the hotel every night we were there! It’s a shame that this place left such a bad taste because it was the first stop of our family trip and it was extremely disappointing and disheartening to experience such discourtesy! We are a very friendly bunch who are easy going very understanding we don’t like be an inconvenience but this was dreadful

Staff average on reception though did allow us to check in to room early - we only wanted to drop off bags. However our triple room, picture shown was three single beds , turned out to be one double and one seat that converted to small bed, not suitable for 6ft 16 yo. No option to change staying others had booked up - missed point we had too. Stairs to level 4 are killer, no lift, very steep and with thick carpet pile some stairs very easy to trip on. Hardly any hot water for shower.

Great location! From the hotel you can either walk or take the underground located nearby to get wherever you want and explore the amazing city of London. Come back at the end of the day to this quiet neighborhood to unwind and rest. The hotel offers the convenient option of having breakfast on site if this might suit your needs. Our room was on the smaller side but clean and comfortable and all the essentials were provided. The staff is amicable and the service excellent. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great and affordable stay in London.

We received a very warm welcome when we arrived, even though there was no lift we were offered help to our room with our cases. The room was in the basement which was a little disappointing but as it was very hot in London it turned out to be a bonus because it was nice and cool in the room. The bedroom and bathroom were quite small but it had everything we needed. The beds were comfy, the room and bathroom were clean. When we checked out we were thanked for staying and they look forward to us staying again. The hotel was about 5 minutes walk from the nearest tube station, the local amenities and Hyde Park. Overall I was more than happy with the hotel

Our one downside was that our basement room was directly below the breakfast area, so it was really loud every morning by 7, with the moving of chairs. Not a triple room, a double with a camp bed.

The stay was fine other than the fact that I booked a triple room with 3 single beds but we received a double room with a camp bed squeezed into it. Initially it had a double bed & a camp bed, certainly not what I booked. When I questioned this, I was informed the housekeeper would divide the double bed to make 2 single beds but the hotel were not for shifting from their position that it was now a room with 3 single beds. Very disappointed as I avoided booking other hotels who said the 3rd bed was a camp bed. The photos of their triple room showed 3 ‘proper’ beds.

Discriminatory treatment; poor facilities

The hotel staff refused to greet or answer any questions when we walked into the small and unlit front desk area. They tried to replace printer paper for 22 minutes without exchanging a word. Another guest was in line before us and checked in. Unlike them, we were asked to submit our passports before they would confirm the type of room we had pre-booked. The area lacked any air conditioning or fans on a hot day, and we thought the demand was unusual and probably discriminatory. We asked for security measures for our personal information from passports (other than the aforementioned paper printout kept on the desk) and were refused explanation other than “it’s on the website.” It is not.
I asked to cancel our reservation and was met with a curt, “settle it with Expedia.”

The Hotel was very clean, being from the US we are somewhat spoiled. And this hotel met our expectations on cleanliness and overall service. They had a continental breakfast, which looked good, but we never got a chance to try it. They offer late check out, huge win and offered to hold our bags. There are a lot of stairs so be prepared. Worse night ever

We booked a twin room but on arrival we were allocated a family room which was larger. Great we thought!!!! But this was in the basement, which was very hot, no view, couldn't open the window and we were kept awake all night by loud footsteps and what sounded like furniture being dragged across the floor above us and this continued until breakfast. We had the worse night ever, ridiculous.!!! We don't know if it was the kitchen above us, we did ask but they avoided the question. The breakfast was very poor, no fruit. They had down-graded us from the room we originally booked. We would never book this hotel again.

Unfortunately our room location is right under reception and we heard a lot of footsteps noise in the middle of night. I am not complaining

Moved to another hotel without warning

I cannot properly rate this hotel because when we turned up for our room they informed us there was no hot water and they had moved us to a hotel down the road. We had not been contacted or consulted prior to arrival and felt at 4.30 in the afternoon we had little choice but to go to the The Central Park Hotel. The room we were given had 3 single beds instead of the double and single we had booked. Scaffolding all over the building so that you couldn't see out the window. Overhead lighting so dim I had to use my phone light for my makeup. Walls were so paper thin you could hear every word spoken in both rooms either side. Tiny bathroom and overall square footage of the room was less than what we had originaly booked. Yes, we were given breakfast to make up for it but we purposely hadnt booked it when we were choosing the Hyde Park Boutique because we went out for breakfast the first morning anyway.
They should have contacted us, to give us the option to cancel instead of send us to their sister hotel. The hotel we ended up in was not what we would have wanted
