Parking is 35.00 a night and extra 165.00 for amenities that we didn't use. View was great between empty high rise closed abandoned hotels, but view if Diamon Head was beautiful. If your handicap walking to restaurants are several blocks unless you go to Marriott or Denny's. About 4 blocks to Twin Finn where you can pick up tours. Beds were uncomfortable and furniture needs replaced

I stayed on the 16th floor and I encountered two cockroaches and signs of bedbugs in my room. When I reported it to the front desk they tried to provide a cleaner room. I had to check three other rooms before landing on a clean and suitable bed—the first two that I checked had signs of bedbugs after stripping back the sheets. I would’ve stayed somewhere else entirely, but I only had one night left and the party I was staying with were all nearby (this was a quick trip for me). I also had to complete a written statement and they claimed they would send an exterminator to do an inspection, but after I followed up with them I never heard back. I totally understand the natural wear and tear of some Hawai’i stays, but this place was far too dirty and they have obviously not given proper care to maintenance and upkeep. I would highly advise staying somewhere else.

Rooms within our party leaked, and then they put them in another room that leaked. Rooms never got cleaned, even when scheduled too. Had to beg for more towels and toilet paper. Parking was super easy and the location was great, but the way they handle their business is less than ideal.

There is bed bug issue. we don’t know before we book. After we report to the front desk looks like they know about this issue, they arranged another room, no manager come out to apologize or explain anything. The new room looks okay, but still in bad condition. I understand it’s an old building but at least keep it clean. I have to check everyday to make sure there is no bed bug which really impacted our experiences in Hawaii. Along with broken flashing light bulbs, the power keeps tripping while use the hair dryer. Overall it’s a horrible experience for our first time travel in Hawaii.

We booked our stay through Hotels.com and for three nights our room leaked through the windows and ceiling. We had a half inch of standing water in the room for three nights and it smelled terrible. Water was leaking on the bed and we had to move the mattress to the living room to sleep. The front desk admitted they had moved someone out of that room the week before for the same reason. Apparently, it is a well known fact that all the rooms in the \"14 block\" leak. We spoke with a manager that said they were all experiencing severe water damage. I requested a refund from the Aston, and they said I needed to go through Hotels.com. They reassured me they took copious notes and would agree to a refund when contacted by Hotels.com. They have now denied the request.

Unfortunately, we went during a huge tropical storm. Lost power for a few days. The pool in the gym were unavailable. Disappointed we didn’t get a lei and that policy was discontinued which no one told us about. Staff was very accommodating despite the circumstances.

Fire alarm sounded during my check in. Water was shut down from 8am to 4pm one day for plumbing emergency. The parking payment machine in the hotel lobby does not work fully and it could not print out the new ticket or the payment receipt, but the garage gate lady will not let you out even with your paid original ticket. She has to see the parking payment receipt to let you out! She even threatened to call the security and charge me again, even I showed her my credit charge reminder message. She did not give my original parking ticket back , even I paid 24 hours parking with multiple entries. The hotel front desk lady could not help, and told me that the parking garage is managed by a different company

Unclear listing in the website about the beds in the room I understood one of the beds to be a queen bed and the other to be a twin bed but both beds were twin beds. Could have changed to one with one king bed but the number of people in our party wouldn’t have worked. The room was good for the price and was a good place to stay

While there were no major issues with basic cleanliness, we didn't feel like the unit was very clean as a whole - you can see a lot of dust in crevices, built up grime on the sinks, stains and holes in curtains, wear on furniture. The sheets and towels are old with holes and some stains. We asked for a crib and were provided with a pack and play (which is fine), but without any sheets for the mattress, so we had to use a regular bedsheet to wrap the mattress. The pack and play itself didn't feel too clean but that wasn't surprising. The units are privately owned in this property, so some units may be renovated with newer furniture. Ours was clearly not updated in a long time. Overall, we felt that the age of and lack of detailed cleaning in our unit affected our overall comfort in our stay, particularly as we were in the unit a lot due to a young toddler napping mid-day and sleeping early in the evening. We paid for ocean view which was blocked by buildings Could not even watch the sunset. My wife was attacked by bedbugs and had 7 serious welts on her body. We also had several problems with our room including running out of body wash in the shower and flickering lights in the bathroom and kitchen. We had to ask for toilet paper several times. The pool as ok but no hot tub. Very overpriced for our experience.

The suite was REALLY old. The sofa bed was so extremely dangerous that my daughter (8) could not sleep in it. The babybed we had to get ourselves downstairs in the middle of the night, which was so broken and discussing that we didn’t even used it. The only good thing is the location of the hotel (5mins walking to Waikiki Beach) BUT be aware, many homeless people are sleeping right next to the entrance of the hotel.

Also the people in the neighboring room were very rude and kept banging on the walls. Also the Sunset seems to have become a residential building now instead of a hotel which is very sad. When we asked housekeeping to come in a little later since we were getting ready to leave at 8 am they never came for 9 whole days and when we did ask they said they would send someone and no one came. The rooms are very old and dirty with ripped bedding and just overall everything looks dirty and is broke like the closet doors and fridge. The parking is there but you still have to pay and it’s an inconvenience to have to go pay at a while other machine separate form everything else. There were bugs climbing over the room.

The reason we are coming back to Aston Waikiki Sunset is the staff. From the moment we checked in last December 8 at 2:20 p.m., the front desk staff was amazing—sorry, I can’t remember his Hawaiian name; it had a lot of A’s and I’s. Kidding aside, we especially love the housekeeping staff, as they try their best to provide all our needs.

I booked through Expedia website and it says this is a 4 star hotel, turned out it was not. I was expecting for a new hotel nicer than this one because I want to treat myself and looking forward to the vacation time. The hotel/Condo situation is old and no room service. I stay there for total of 6 nights and after 3nights without cleaning. I called the front desk and they told me that no cleaning service. They can bring me the sheets, but I have to do it myself. Very frustrating and disappointing and hope this will not happen to anyone else. Please be honest with your customers!!

A great stay for families, has all of the amenities and the location is awesome! Just a few blocks from everything and the beach. The rooms were not the cleanest, definitely more of a 3-star stay for sure, and we were a bit disappointed with their housekeeping policy (no service with less than a 9-day stay). Seemed like a very \"fend for yourself\" environment, but when we did ask for supplies the staff were very quick and happy to provide them to us (ie. trash bags, extra sheets). Has all the basic amenities, just needs some updating and deep cleaning for sure.

Windows had broken chains which meant on the 17th floor they opened completely, a kid could fall out easily. Close to everything on waikiki, and a convenient mini mart in the resort was nice. The parking payment process was difficult. Probably wouldn't come back.

Not the best experience, this was our first trip to Hawaii and thankfully we didn’t have to spend much time in the room. Elevators were shaky first day so we asked for a lower room so we went from floor 32 to floor 7. Apparently they wont refund the difference. Then they had a company come in a few days later and worked on the elevators. Floors had stains and dust was collected on a lot of areas, we had slippers we wore at all times. The couch was also very stained and grimy looking so we spent any time in our room sitting on our bed. There is also a $35 fee on site for their amenities and we had to ask the front desk for a necklace they say they welcome you with. Also out our deck the view was with a homeless persons camp. Rooms was very dark and master was lit by only a lamp. Sleep was quite uncomfortable as they pushed 2 twin beds together to make a “King” and the center of the joining mattresses was quite uncomfortable. We will definitely be choosing a different hotel for future visits.

\"partial ocean view\".Built up area of Honolulu. I was on the 21st Floor (of 35 or more ) Other buildings appeared taller. Only a short walk to the beach that is part of Waikiki Beach area. Beach area had plenty of free seating. I am almost 80 yr old person. If I sat directly on the beach, i would not be able to get up without physical assistance. Here there were chairs to sit in and walls to sit on, so no problem. Some nice sunsets but most affected by clouds, the sky got good colors @ sunset anyway. Hotel is one block to Kuhio street where I rode the bus for $1.25 (senior price. Others=$3). Wonderful for getting around. Ist full day there I shopped for groceries (my unit had full kitchen)@ nearbyTarget, Got cereal, a box of instant oatmeal, a good loaf of multigrain bread, a doz eggs, an 8 oz. solid bar of sharp cheddar cheese, a can of tuna, and a packet of shelf stable shredded chicken that did not need draining, a box with 4 sticks of imperial margarine. Prices a little higher than the mainland, but not too bad .Got a target shopping bag for $.99 which I used repeatedly. Stores in Honolulu donot give free bags.Shopped @ abc stores for single use Tide, cookies, and a 2 pack of combs because I had lost mine. Good price for 8 day stay including airfare from/to Sacramento for less than $2 K in Nov. Loved sitting on balcony & Walk-in shower with seat & hand held shower attachment. Did not use pool area. St.Augustine RC church walkable on Oahu st. Recommend.

This was, unfortunately, the worst hotel experience I have ever had. The facilities are extremely dated, and the parking situation is confusing and poorly managed. On top of that, several staff members demonstrated passive-aggressive or even openly aggressive attitudes toward guests.

When I attempted a three-point turn at the entrance because the space was so narrow, an old cranky parking attendant actually yelled at me. The next morning (11/27), things became even worse. The machine did not issue us a parking ticket the previous night because our parking pass expired at 10:30 PM. When exiting the garage, the same parking attendant insisted she would charge us $90 for “no ticket,” even though this was due to the machine not dispensing one.
I went to the front desk to report the issue, and the staff member there repeatedly said that the garage “has nothing to do with the hotel.” If that is the case, then why are guests being directed to park there? A second staff member came out and immediately took a very defensive and confrontational tone, telling me that I “needed to understand” that without a ticket I must pay $90. The attitude from both the garage staff and the hotel staff was unprofessional, dismissive, and frankly shocking.
This experience left me extremely disappointed. Based on the condition of the facilities and the conduct of your staff, I would never return to this hotel.

This hotel worked perfect for our family of four. It was a great location, less than 5 min walk from the beach. We really enjoyed the 2 bedroom apartment layout with kitchen and living room. Loved the balcony as well, beautiful views. Room was nice and quiet and soundproof, never heard anyone in the rooms next to us. My only critique is that the blinds in the bathroom and living room could use replaced but we definitely will be staying here again!

Our stay at the Aston Waikiki Sunset was great for our family of six. Our room was near the top and we had amazing unobstructed views of Diamond head and the ocean. The unit had two bedrooms and a pull-out couch. The kitchen was stocked with enough to get by making basic meals. Air conditioning worked well and there were paid laundry machines down the hall. It is $35 a day and payable via a kiosk in the lobby. Do yourself a favor and if/when you use the kiosk pay in advance for your whole stay. The parking attendant employees are mostly less than helpful and will overcharge you if you try to pay at the booth.
