I booked a hotel that specifically said it had an elevator. My room was not accessible by an elevator. I had to climb three flights of stairs. The room itself was not much larger than the bed. I was unable to charge any of my devices because there were no outlets. The bathroom was nice. I will say that that was OK. I’ll never stay here again.

Staff was ok, they put us in a room where the elevator was not accessible to our floor with multiple luggage bags which was very inconvenient. The room was clean. Hotel was comfortable and charming. Food was great, service was excellent. However, a bank of recycling bins nearby attracted some homeless people and trash pickers. Sometimes during the night, we would hear the lids slamming and people arguing. Certainly not the fault of the hotel but we wondered why the city put it there.

A nice hotel in a good location. There is a complimentary coffee machine by the lobby sitting area that you can make your own coffee . Hotel is nice, clean and located in a quiet street .
Hotel use intense room perfume in the lobby without good air circulation which you don’t find that in most modern hotel .

The hotel used to be a favorite of mine. The location is perfect and close to Paddington and Hyde Park, but the hotel is starting to look tired. It feels cheap and not clean. The carpet in the hallways is stained, the paint work is chipped and the rooms are very cheaply decorated. I was put on the 7th floor twice, where there is no elevator. You have to go to 6th floor and then carry luggage up a very small staircase to the 7th floor. The rooms are tiny. The first room had no window, and I could not stand up in half of the room because the ceiling was sloped. The bed was not a queen bed as requested, it was a double bed which was too small. The bedding and pillows are very minimal and not comfortable. The bathrooms don't have a shelf to put any of your supplies and the sink is very small.
The breakfast is quite nice and the staff are friendly. Unfortunately, I will most likely not be staying here again.

Don recommend staying here

Beds we so uncomfortable, no where to put your luggage. Closet had 2 hangers and no room to put clothes. No chest of drawers or anywhere to put clothes. Night stand on only one side of bed. No chair to sit in. To get to other side of bed you had to slide by wall and duck under tv. Bad water stain on wall.
We had to put luggage on floor and couldn’t unpack at all unless you put it on floor.

The \"executive double\" room we were originally given was nothing like the photo, it was in the roof and I couldn't stand in half of the room. The staff were very helpful and moved us to another room and that had bugs in. But, at least it had Aircon because it was I hospitably hot when we got there.

What a gem!

Perfect stay
Reception staff were very welcoming and friendly and got us checked in early which was amazing. Needed an iron and called reception and had it promptly brought to my room.
Room was lovely and clean bathroom also very clean, Netflix etc on tv, comfy bed tea and coffee and a fridge.
Honestly cannot fault this place at all. Amazing price for such a great room. Unbelievable location too.

Location of this hotel was great, which was one of the reasons for booking it, but the rooms were incredibly small. Upon check-in we were told we were being upgraded, but the upgrade consisted of a room in, what you could call the “lower lobby”, where you could hear trains rumbling by every few moments. That said, the hotel was clean and I felt the staff were wonderful.

Great hotel in London near to Kensington Palace and Hyde Park. Lancaster Gate tube station is 5 mins walk away and there are plenty of buses nearby. There are some great pubs close to hotel for dinner so everything is very central. Hotel is modern and clean with pleasant staff.
We would stop there again if back in London.

Realky convenient to transportation. Lovely area with the hotel set back from the main streets it quieter and restful after a full day of exploring London. Lots of restaurants and things to do with in walking distance. Our room was nice but lacking in a storage. There were no drawers or shelving just a small closet to hang items. There was a small refrigerator, a tv, and a desk: a nice bathroom. Our room was cleaned daily with fresh towels left. The view was of the church next door. Perfect for a short stay.

I’ll be honest — I was a little hesitant after reading some of the reviews, but having stayed here, I think a lot of the complaints are over the top. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. It’s a standard hotel room in central London — not sure what some people were expecting.

The room isn’t huge, but it’s a perfectly reasonable size. My partner and I had plenty of space, and unless you’re planning to spend your entire trip lounging in the hotel, it’s more than enough. If you’re in London to explore the city, this place works exactly as it should.

The location is excellent — easy access to transit, great restaurants nearby, and a quick trip to Westminster. If you’re looking for a clean, comfortable base to see the city, this is a solid choice.

We were not able to make our flight to England from Canada, due to a UK ETA mix up. I asked to cancel our reservation. I understand them not cancelling the first night. But they refused the other as well.It was bad enough we missed our Grandmothers 100th Birthday and the trouble with the airline. Some grace would have been nice.

The neighborhood is nice, there is restaurants within vicinity as well as transportation on the tube. The hotel is old so it’s very loud. Walking will wake up other sleepers in your room, you can hear people next door and up stairs walking around and talking quietly which made sleeping hard. The beds are really uncomfortable so that’s something they need to upgrade. Rooms could use a detailing.. they were clean but far from detailed. For the price it was a good value compared to other hotel options. The restaraunt onsite we did not eat at, it is Nepali and Indian so cannot comment. There is an espresso maker in the room and lobby which was nice. The bathroom is difficult to get ready in with a really recessed mirror. Biggest perks: location. Biggest downside: loud and awful beds, linens very rough they need an upgrade.

If I could rate this hotel 0 stars I would! Upon arriving on Friday, December 13th. I was placed in the room of the basement or lower level. Not only did it smell like cigarettes. There was baby roaches everywhere. When I went downstairs and asked for a room transfer because it was in the middle of the night, the concierge was at first hesitant and said there was no more rooms available. I told him I refuse to stay in that room and I would take further action if they would’ve changed the room a couple of minutes later he changed the room to a smaller room on the upper level with no windows and a tight space as I thought the situation was done when I come back to my home state I open my suitcase, and I see some roaches and a couple of days later I started getting marks on my hand, which turned out to be from bedbugs. Save your money go somewhere else as this place should be shut down and I will be taking further action as they do not want to refund me my money. What a disgrace.

I very rarely give bad reviews but this hotel was terrible - the stuff was unorganized we had to ask multiple times for towels, they were ALWAYS NOT THERE. With a digb we ll be back shortly. Also lower lever is not 0 it is a basement thus -1 they trick people by saying that the rooms are 0-6 while they are -1 to 6. Finalky bathrooms are tiny and shower is below average

The twin room was a decent size for two people, although not quite what the pictures advertised. The room and hotel were clean and tidy. Location is convenient to Paddington station (10 min walk), and the tube station and popular buses are very close.

Sound did travel quite easily in this hotel (could hear people talking in the adjacent room, people walking in the room above and the adjacent room door would slam shut everytime), so bring earplugs if a light sleeper. Annoying they wouldn't hold a bag overnight for us, even though we were checking back into the hotel the next day.

Overall a fine stay, nothing spectacular but it suited the trip.

it is an old building so to reach the 4th floor, you take the lift to floor 6 and walk through a narrow corridor and down 2 flights of stairs! Good news, they upgraded my room, which was free of charge, and the staff were very helpful. They provided a free copy service on their printer.
I will likely stay there again. If you like breakfast, it is charged to your room. I had it twice, good.

The hotel room was on the ground floor. It was obviously a disabled room but it needs attention. Mould on the shower curtain, wonky tap on the washbasin and the shower had no pressure whatsoever- terrible. We were woke at 7:30am each morning by the cleaner who was vacuuming and banging doors etc. The hotel looked nothing like it did in the advertisement. For the money paid, we would have got a lot nicer. Possibly the worst hotel, we’ve stayed in although the staff were pleasant enough.

The photo's must be of a model room, our room was as big as a camper, and I'm not kidding. The bed was not great, but not the worst I've slept on. I paid $185 on Expedia and had to extend one night for $250 in person, which is a lot for this small room without any free breakfast. Also, as an American, I'd appreciate some washcloths. The TV and Air Conditioning worked good, but the limited storage space had me stepping on my luggage. There is no place to sit, only the bed...

Nice place for our stay. It was a 10-12 min walk to the train stations. Pretty close to the bikes in the area. A lot of food options close by. Very close to Hyde park. The air conditioning and WiFi worked well. Our fridge had to be replaced since it wasn’t working but they promptly fixed the matter. There was one staff member wasn’t the most pleasant but other than that it was a good stay.

Looked better and different on the pictures!!

Dit hotel lijkt op de foto’s veelbelovend. Ik vermoed dat er een oud en nieuw gedeelte is en het er dus aan ligt in welk gedeelte je een kamer krijgt.
Wij lagen in het oude gedeelte (achter de receptie).

Het is piepklein, de lift lijkt bijna éénpersoons, de gangen zijn smaller dan mijn overloop thuis, met je reistas lastig doorheen te lopen.

Als je enigszins allergieën hebt of astmatisch bent, ga hier dan niet heen. De schoonmaker gebruiken wierook, overal is vloerbedekking. Ik gebruik mijn pufje normaal 2 á 3x per week en heb m in dit hotel zo’n 6x per nacht moeten gebruiken omdat ik zo benauwd was. Ook zijn de airco’s enorm stoffig en hebben ze een mankement, namelijk dat ze een serieus hard bromgeluid maken elke 30 sec. Wij hebben daarom besloten om deze uit te laten, anders konden we echt niet slapen. Helaas had de kamer naast ons hem wel aan staan, waardoor we alsnog wakker lagen.

Volgens mij verbleef er personeel in deze kamer naast ons, die de eerste nacht erg luid waren en tot één uur continu in en uit liepen met een knallende deur.

Het is een heel gehorig hotel en de schoonmakers beginnen al vroeg met schoonmaken.

Ondanks de geweldige locatie (naast Hyde park, hier hebben we elke dag gewandeld), zouden we hier vanwege de herrie airco en stoffigheid niet weer verblijven.

Checking in staff made it difficult, was answering phone calls and stopping the checking in process. Wouldn’t mind if it was an important call but your manager asking to delete a note she left on the laptop doesn’t qualify I think. Room was to hot, ac was dripping and kept making loud noises throughout the night so I had to turn it off. Bed sheets had marks on. Normally don’t do reviews but definitely won’t be staying again.

Fantastic hotel with with central location and good value for money! I booked a one night stay in June and found this hotel online and thought the price was too good to be true - what was the catch? I was pleasantly surprised, the hotel had lovely installation and was on a quiet square off one of the main roads in London. Bed was comfortable, modern bathroom, great views and very clean. Recommend to anyone looking to stay in central London but doesn’t need all the luxuries.

Classic London Hotel with a Lift

Good option near Paddington Station. The staff were very nice and happily checked us in a hour early, which was greatly appreciated. The hotel itself is classic London, which means rooms are modestly-sized, at least by US standards. But it was clean, recently-renovated, and had an elevator, which lots of small hotels close to the station do not.

Lovely stay

We had a lovely day at your hotel was very clean and tidy. Staff was very friendly and helpful with directions ect. Only thing was there was only one bedside table in our double room I know it’s only a minor thing. and English breakfast wasn’t really an English breakfast without bacon and sausages, but I understand no pork for religious reasons but the other breakfast items available were lovely .

Location location!

I had the pleasure of staying at the Commodore for eight nights.

The hotel is situated in a fantastic location just a few minutes walk from Kensington Gardens and less than 10 minutes walk to a great Underground station which connected us to the rest of London.

The staff were very helpful and pleasant to deal with, and our room - a standard double - was very comfortable with a really nicely renovated bathroom.

I would highly recommend this hotel.
