Room was incredibly small, bed was for short people, everything crammed, hallways too narrow and the carpet made impossible to drag my luggage to the room and out of the room.
Room facing the street was quite noisy throughout the night.
Wouldn’t go back to stay again.

Friendly staff. Our room was rather hot. I should have asked the desk for a fan or to see if there was a way to turn down the heat. And the bathroom/toilet had a sewer smell. We kept the door shut. Our room was super clean with nice amenities.

The staff were friendly and my room was always clean! It’s also at a fantastic location. It’s just a few minutes walk from Paddington Station and Hyde Park. My only complaint is that the breakfast was not included like I thought it was. It seemed like it was for some people, but I had trouble finding information about it on their website.

Room neglected (badly peeling desk, broken & missing drawer), window frame, silicone and architrave in bathroom barely being held together with stains on the mirror. Skirting & floor beading in poor condition, with raised screw-heads on floorbar between bathroom and main room. Room heating on full blast, no way to turn down, had to open window allowing a lot of street noise in - supplied plug in fan, but not cooling just moves hot air around. Bedding grubby/dusty awoke with x2 bites/welts on my face. X2 completely different single mattresses on bed (despite being a double), uncomfortable seem between each: one mattress rock hard the other very soft. Hand basin blocked & unpleasant smell. After boiling kettle, water came out a strange milky colour, despite running clear from tap initially. Very difficult lugging heavy suitcases up and down steep entrance steps.

Our stay was really disappointing. The room was dirty and clearly not cleaned properly, which made it feel unhygienic and uncomfortable. It was also very cold, and the noise levels made it almost impossible to sleep. Overall, the standards were far below what we expected from this hotel.

The room was extremely small and it was difficult getting to the actual room. The elevator did not work every time you pushed the button….floor 5 had to use a specific elevator and hallways were very narrow and with stairs and carpet. Getting your luggage to your room is a difficult task.

This hotel is beautiful and the place to be for Christmas drinks! I loved seeing everyone all dressed up at the Palm court! The room was spacious and luxurious offering two types of pillows for for comfort! We also visited the spa while there which was extremely nice and relaxing! Highly recommend.

There were couple of days where there wasn’t much hot water in the shower.

The best part of the hotel is the location. The train station, bus stop and restaurants are close by.

I booked a triple room. On arrival the receptionist said he has given us a bigger room. When we got to the room it was cold, smelt of sewage, room decor was tatty and tired. Double bed on ground floor and then two single beds up some windy open stairs. Not welcoming at all and split the group up. I also had my Mum with me who was not happy with using the stairs.
We asked to change rooms and luckily they did have another room, which was much better, warmer and no smells. Ideal position close to Paddington train station and tube. Also very handy that we could leave our luggage there until our return journey.

I had an extended stay and they kept the room & bath very clean. On site breakfast cost extra but had a really good selection of items. Desk staff went out of their way to fix a booking mistake and problem resulting due to the date/time change from the US to the UK.
I had a single room. Just right for one, but shower was quite small, definitely not for larger sized people, however overall the bathroom was nicely updated and it worked for me.
Location near Paddington station convenient for access to Heathrow but an overall noisy tourist area especially on weekends if you're a light sleeper.

The staff, lobby, and bathroom were good. However, the bed was so uncomfortable, I got maybe 8 hours of sleep over 4 nights. I can’t recommend this hotel until the quality of the bed improves. I would dread having to go back to the hotel after a long day exploring London.

The Royal Eagle excellent stuff which makes the stay really amazing. Everything was kept to the highest standard possible. Our room needed a little bit of a refurbishment but that’s OK. It didn’t get in the way of the trip. Highly recommend this hotel for his value and the exceptional staff.

This hotel was just okay. For the money, it’s alright value. They do not allow visitors and don’t specify this. The elevators can only fit 1-2 people, so I had to take the stairs multiple times. The phone doesn’t work in the room, so anything with need assistance, you must go downstairs. They restricted my key card access before my check out time, and treated it like it’s normal. The bed wasn’t comfortable and walls were thin, but to be expected in a budget hotel that’s old. I liked the location and proximity. The hotel staff were mostly nice.

The optional breakfast is a great way to start the day. One of the best tun continental breakfast buffets I've seen: they do not "run out" of things and are very attentive to diners as well. (An instant cup is always available in-room.)

When the previous person stopped up the sink, this (and anything I asked) was taken care of immediately. The main desk and room-caregivers are to be complimented for attention. (No one made me to feel like I was bothering them: all performed their duties with a smile.)

Best off all, the railway and the Underground metro lines all come within two blocks at Paddington Station--a major hub, as well as a direct "Elizabeth Line" metro to and from Heathrow Airport for a small price (compared to "the Express"). It was easy to be a tourist with so many lines from which to choose--even when a few lines were closed for weekend repairs: there was always an alternative at Paddington.

There are wonderful restaurants and shops on the "main street" which are a perfect way to end the day in the neighborhood.

I would gladly stay in this hotel at this location again.

We refused to stay and went elsewhere - Awful !!

We declined to stay at the hotel when we saw the room and went elsewhere at our own cost. Hotel refused to refund us and we eventually reached resolution from hotels.com (after a bit of a battle) but the hotel did nothing to contribute to the refund and so deserves no credit for that, they just kept the money when we didn’t stay.. disgusting !!

We were placed in the basement with the pavement of a major high street directly above so everyone could see straight inside. Our window looked into a below ground stairwell.. nice !! Furniture falling apart.

Drainage smell, door right outside lift door without a lobby between, filthy windows and holes in sent causing noise and draughts, rooms are beyond tiny, you have to squeeze past the bed to get to the bathroom door. They are TINY!!

Just don’t stay here, spend your money elsewhere and enjoy your stay.

We allocated a room which was down below ground level. The room was sooo tiny and in need of repair with cracks in the walls, dirty marked walls, could not open or close the window, tge cold water tap would not work. In the end they had to shift us to another room.
I would only rate this hotel as a 1-2 star hotel!

I had booked a room for me and my daughter.
Choose option to pay at the property. Upon arrival I was told they the are no rooms available as I booked.
I was very upset. As I was early in the hotel ( 2 hrs before check in to drop off my bags) I spoke to person in the reception name Sheikh . He never mentioned that there are no rooms available. I went for lunch and came in time to check in around 3:15pm to learn that there are no rooms availability.
I was offered option to stay in the other sister property 10 min away. I found it very annoying that my room was given away to someone else. Also, had I known before about it I would have booked with another hotel.
After,i mentioned that I’ll leave bed review one of the receptionist offers me to wait and he was able to find me a room.

A Terrible Stay with Unexpected Ants!

Very disappointed with our stay. We discovered ants in the bathroom around during the night and by morning they had spread across the floor and curtains—an unpleasant and unhygienic experience.

The room was also uncomfortably hot all night, with limited ventilation despite fans and a balcony door that barely opened. We had to step into the hallway to get some colder air.

For £290 per night, I expected much higher standards. I’ve contacted the hotel twice through Hotels.com and also via their email on the website with no response.

Cheap for a reason

Staff tried taking a physical photocopy of my driving licence to check in, there is no need for this, regardless of what their policy is. Unwilling to provide a VAT receipt until the morning, delaying check out. Bathroom door literally had chunks missing from it. Stuffy, noisy room on main road. Only one power socket available, tucked behind a cupboard. Cheap for a reason...

The room that was provided B07 was in the basement. Which was very musty and very claustrophobic . The only window (if opened) had access to the public footpath hence no security.
The floor was warped due to water damptness and can you believe it that the hot water kettle had to be placed on the floor in order to have the electric plugged into the eletric socket.
The receptionest (Sheikh) was very courteous and apologetic but it was too late as there was no other room available. Despite its convenient location This room has to be taken of the rooblist and some serious renovations doneùy

The rooms are quite small so no one has their own space, but it definitely does the job if you plan on sightseeing and going out for most of the day. The beds are very comfortable but be aware that there is no AC, only a fan. Besides that, it's perfectly fine if this is your only option. The location is so good it makes up for any problems you have with the room

The property could use a face lift, and navigating the halls is a bit of a maze, but the staff were wonderful, and the location is literally down the street from Paddington station. The room had three twin beds which looked odd, but a big bathtub and everything was clean. No air con, but a nice standing fan that did the job.

Service was exceptional. Room grade and conditions were slightly less than expected, was placed in the basement floor without prior warning and the shower mirror bled red from the adhesive sticking it to the wall. Executive leadership needs to invest more in the property because the staff is committed, but they can only go so far as the funding takes them regarding facilities.

Languishing in London

We were very pleased to have chosen the Royal Eagle Hotel. Very nice area, and very close to Paddington Station. The staff were very welcoming, efficient and went out of their way to assist with navigation details during our stay. The beds were so comfortable - a perfect respite following our action- filled days in London.

We had a fantastic stay at Royal Eagle. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything we needed. The staff were incredibly friendly and always ready to assist. Breakfast was delicious, offering a great variety to suit all tastes. The location is convenient for both business and leisure travel.
