This is a rather odd place to stay, but worth it if you really don't want to pay much for your London accommodations. First, we did not check in online, it just wasn't convenient with our travel plans, and checking in in person was very confusing. The check in email told us to go to 34 Inverness Terrace, but that was our apartment number. Check in is up the street and not well marked. Second, our apartment was a third floor (4th if you are from the US) walk up. It's lucky we are all able bodied people, having to lug all our stuff up 3 long flights of stairs. Third, the apartment was an interesting layout. The main part has a small kitchen, eating table, and two beds - NO sofa, and a bathroom. To get to the bedroom, you had to go through a door, down a small flight of stairs, and then through another door into the bedroom. Lots of USB ports in the main apartment but none in the bedroom, only GB outlets. The best thing about this apartment is the proximity to two different subway lines, which made getting around London very convenient. There are also quite a few shops nearby for getting groceries for the apartment. We probably won't stay here again, but if you are traveling on a budget and don't mind the potential for a lot of stairs, this might be a good place for you!

We arrived at 2pm to check in but the room wasn’t ready, this was really inconvenient as we had travelled 3.5hrs and had a reservation at 3pm which we wanted to get changed for. The website said you could check in at 2pm so I really feel the room should be ready if that’s what’s advertised.

Other than that, the apartment was clean and comfortable and perfect for what we needed. The location was also great, walking distance to Hyde park, the tube station and plenty of shops, restaurants etc.

One thing we missed was a long mirror in the apartment and this would have made the stay even better.

Pretentious, rude, and zero hospitality – a complete circus

Without exaggeration, this was the worst hotel experience we've ever had. I was traveling with my wife, who is 5 months pregnant, and my 80-year-old father. Despite this, they gave us a room on the fourth floor of a building with no elevator.

When I asked to change rooms, the only \"solution\" they offered was an “upgrade” to the same type of room, but at double the price — as if they were doing us a favor.

Let’s be clear: no one is demanding that the hotel have an elevator. What’s unacceptable is that they treat the lack of one as the customer’s problem. The receptionist literally said, “Since we don’t mention an elevator on the website, you should assume there isn’t one — it’s all clear.” That is, apparently, their idea of transparency and service.

We then asked for something incredibly simple: to leave our heaviest suitcases on the ground floor for a few hours so that my pregnant wife and elderly father wouldn’t have to carry them up. The response? A blunt no, delivered with a rude, arrogant attitude.
They actually had the nerve to say: “If you can’t carry heavy luggage, you shouldn’t travel with heavy luggage.”
No empathy, no professionalism, no basic human decency.

In the end, I had to carry every suitcase up myself, without help, without a single apology, and without even the faintest trace of kindness or understanding from the staff.

Accommodation was modern and clean. Kitchen wasn’t adequate to use for much more than breakfast. Not enough utensils, cooking equipment, wine glasses etc.

Stairs were a bit dangerous for children or anyone slightly unsteady on feet.

The upstairs room had glass wall so no privacy from guest using the downstairs sofa bed.

A very good location with lots of supermarkets, restaurants and 2 train stations within 5 mins walk. We got a lovely loft room with kitchenette. It was warm and cosy. Toilet is big. A few areas ro be improved:
The soundproofing needs to be better. We could hear upstairs walking.
Some of the towels given were stained and old.
The toilet seat had some unremovable stains.
The stairs to the loft is steep and narrow, have to be very careful.

Overall it was a very nice stay and i would recommend it.

1. No lift, I had to lift up 2 heavy luggage to 2/F with high headroom!

2. Poor Toilet: so tiny that I could hardly turn around or wear clothes inside ; the exhaust fan was revolving but had no effect on exacting air inside toilet, moisture and odour existed overnight!!!

3. Terrace 34 just had 1 unguarded front gate, when I go down to basement for laundry works at 2:00am, three young guys were sitting at the common corridor of 2/F, staring at me when I walked through, and I had no idea whether they are residents or not!

from above, original I will stay for 4 nights, but after 1 night, I decided to check out and move to another apartment nearby, on the next day morning.

A nice place to stay near Hyde Park

I stay at Hyde Park Superior most weeks when I'm in London for work. The staff are always pleasent & welcoming. The apartments are nice, some better than others as they are being updated. The communial areas have recently been decorated, the carpet needs changing as there a few stains but other than that. Reception is in a different building a few doors down but they have a whatsapp chat service which works well and the reception team are very attentive. For the price and location it's good for Hyde Park

Ok but won’t visit there again

A small but clean apartment in the basement but all of the furnishings and fittings seemed cheap - the main bed was uncomfortable and far too close to the wall on one side and the fold out sofa was difficult to use and seemingly broken. The table and chairs were wobbly and just overall everything was done on the cheap.
No hotel lift was a bind and no concierge or reception in the building made it feel less secure than I would have liked. The location was good for food and transport but overall the facilities were underwhelming.

Reception area looked very unwelcoming, the furnitures were all old and tired and even have tears and wears. Needs a little revamp of furnitures. Receptionist seemed OK. The apartment itself was quite old. The curtains were very old and dusty and it didn't even cover the whole window. The couch bed was old too. Needs a revamp for such an area and price the apartments needs alittle upgrade. Basically nothing was like the pictures must update on the system for more realistic pictures. But would defo stay just needs a little touch up. Thank you

The photos of this property were likely accurate maybe 20 years ago. Everything is old, and falling apart. The unit smelled of smoke and mold. The cracks in the walls and dirt/mold in the corners of everywhere you look are unsightly. This place is in desperate need of a renovation. We let the front desk know (the 'front desk' is about a block down from this unit), regarding the issues, and we were offered a one night refund if we decided to leave. Unfortunately, it's difficult to find availability last minute in the summer in London so we had decided to stay. Do yourself a favour and stay away from this place! It's disgusting. There is a Radisson Blu not far from here that we would have chosen to move to instead (but it was sold out).

This was an OK stay, large room but over priced for what it offered. Great location but check-in process was not communicated well at booking and arrival/departure (note you need to go to No 55 first). It was a very hot apartment with no ability to open a window. We wont stay again.

Central and convenient for sight seeing. Can't say property was dirty, probably some time since had a deep clean. Would stay here again. Very small bathroom but you're staying very cheaply in central London, don't expect The Savoy at these prices. Reception staff were pleasant and looked after our bags after checking out. Lots of choices for eating out just around tbe corner.

Not recommend a nice place to stay

The room was not as shown in the booking, Water leaking from the ceiling, stains on the bed, the Microwave rusted and dangerous and dirty inside, the intercom did not work, extractor fan in bathroom did not work, they ask for a deposit and was refusing to give us a receipt and also refused to give us his name. We stayed mid AUGUST 2021. No plants like in the photos. Please see pictures posted on this review showing the problems we had with the room, too many to put on this review THERE ARE ROAD WORKS CURRENTLY OUTSIDE THE PROPERTY WHICH HAS JUST STARTED EXTREMELY NOISEY AS DIGGING UP THE ROAD TO PUT PIPES IN.

Although first view of the property was good. The apartment seemed clean and pleasant. We then later discovered a mouse or rat in our room . Obviously we were not willing to stay the night , the night staff were not helpful offered us another room but we declined as if that’s the state of one room what were the others like! This then left 4 young women trying to find a hotel at 1.30am, in a city we’re unsure of.
Avoid if possible !

The best things about this property is the location and the price for central London, so close to Kensington & Hyde Park. We were in a Studio apartment on the top floor of number 34 which was 85 steps up, so request lower floor if this would be an issue for you. The Studio was basic but fine as a base for a few days sight seeing. 24hr Reception/ Check in, is in a different building which was no issue they brought us more pillows upon telephone request. We were able to leave luggage after check out. I’m pleased I booked and wasn’t put off by some of the other reviews, I would return in the future.

Deceived and disappointed

To our surprise, when we arrived we were told our reservation, which had been paid a month in advance, was canceled. After checking, the kind receptionist, told us it was due to maintenance works and she tried her best not to leave us without a place to stay and put us up in another apartment. Well,it was not an apartment, it was a room with a double bed and a single bed. Our reservation was for four people. Again, the receptionist, who was marvelous to us, managed to find a folding bed for the fourth person. I must say it was a very uncomfortable bed, with a sagging mattress.One of the windows in the room was stuck and could not be closed. It smelled not clean at all. We were really deceived for the apartment had nothing to do with the apartment we saw in Internet, the one we had booked and which we had paid for.

Apartment was clean and had all facilities we needed.Very handy for 2 underground stations especially Queensway on Central Line which took us to all main tubes in city centre. Room was warm and comfortable. People tended to gather at front door of apartments to talk and smoke and as we were at front in basement apartment this was at times annoying especially at night.

The worst hotel and service ever

AVOID THIS HOTEL EVEN FOR FREE.
I’m from London and I know the area very well. I booked in Hyde Park for the location and to be close to the westend. I had family coming over with 10 months old baby. the flat was in the basement with zero isolation, extremely cold and noisy. At night we could feel cold air coming from the outside and people screaming. The flat was dirty and the shower was horrible. Bedding so d and inconfortable, we had backache every morning. The toilet were broken and a missive hole in the shower. The worst part, builders knocking on the wall early in the morning which scared the baby. Enough is enough after 2 nights we left the hotel despite the management Refused to refund the remaining nights. This hotel should be banned and I have taken legal action to recover the money I lost and stress they caused us.

This property was adorable and cozy! It was the perfect home for my friends and I for the weekend. My only suggestions is to equip the kitchen more. Like to provide some tea towels, have more than one shelf in the oven (ours only had one) and possibly an oven glove. We ended up using the small towels for this as we had nothing else but other wise our stay was wonderful. The front desk was also very easy to contact which was great.

It was bad, not to what we expect. The room was not what we asked for. Our room was away from the reception. The front desk is not helpful. Our room was in basement n no elevator. We got 4 huge luggages with steep steps. The $ for the room is overpaid! Water heater not working, no toileteries given. Make up room not auto. Need to inform 1 day b4??? Bed was not given as indicated in website when do booking. 2 fans also not functioning well. In-house phone not working. So troublesome to walk up n down to the reception to inform n request for anything. Would not stay here anymore.

I never saw that you had to go to another location to check into the property so that was a bit inconvenient but fine. It should definitely be worth mentioning on the booking that there is NO lift! Bloody struggle carrying 50lb+ suitcases up to the fourth floor. An okay place to stay for the night, near stores and food and near 2 tube stations.

A little scared in London

This is for younger travelers. Steps were more like a ladder and only bathroom up in the loft. A lady did get her purse stolen outside our apartment on the 2nd evening. There's many young kids staying in the area. It was a convenient area. We just never carried any purses.

False advertisement or the accommodation

Arrived at the checkin which we found out was at the other end of the street to find a very frustrated couple demanding a refund due to the condition of there room.
They warned us we were in for an unpleasant surprise!
The room we were given was dirty, faulty items such as shower, drains, tv, door lock.
What you see on the advertisement is not what you get at all.

The property was old and the room smelled like mold. Not very clean. Tiny rooms nothing like the pictures. Building and street very noisy. Had to ask people on the street how to check in. Turns out the office of way down the street on the other side. Didn't feel safe walking down the street at night. When got to the church on desk, clerk wasn't there and a sign showed he'd be back soon. Had to wait 10 minutes for someone to show up. Not happy at all with this stay.

The noise from the surrounding area was loud and there are not soundproof windows. The apartment was not even close to the pictures put on the net. The hallway and stair carpets were tired, old and filthy. The bathroom was filthy, the shower cabin is very small and there are no soap/shampoo holder. The temperature of the water is fixed and cannot be changed. The towels were old and torned.
There is no cleaning service at the site.
WiFi not functioning most of the time.

The reception is at a different address (55 Inverness Terrace) than the flats (34 Inverness Terrace), and there is no indication at the door where to find the reception. You give 34 Inverness Terrace as the address on the website, which is misleading. Everything else was fine. I certainly would like to stay there again as the Central as well as the District/Circle lines provide quick access to the city.

From start to finish we found this property and the immediate surrounding area unsatisfactory. We arrived to find no one at the property and had to ring only to find out the reception was at number 55 not 34 as stated. Also no parking, we parked in a car park in the next street at considerable expense. Once we entered the basement property we found mould in the bathroom, dirty floors, sideboards and kitchen. For the 2 nights we stayed we endured people on the steps above and In the street partying all night long, shrieking, music and shouting. The aftermath of which the next morning ranged from cigarette butts, alcohol bottles, takeaway bags and the occasional person strewn on the sidewalk. This was our daughters first experience of London so we are very disappointed.

First when I received the confirmation was number 34 of the street I couldn’t find the place it was like à normal building I needed to call and asked them where are you ? On the phone was like normal and they told me we are number 55foe the reception and after you need to go number 34 and nobody bring you there for the price quiet very light service and the street is so nosy like crazy cos I didn’t know was full of hostel cheap street is a bit dodge thanks was for one night only but I’ll never back here for sure have a great day

For one person the room size was fine. The bathroom was narrow but not a problem for me (if you are a taller/larger person, closing the door may feel claustrophobic). The major problem was the bed - the mattress sloped to the headboard (feet raised about 4 inches), the sheets were worn and mattress obviously very used. Really this is a two star. Also, while my reservation was for 34 Inverness - you have to check-in at 55 Inverness (Expedia doesn't tell you this). Location is amazing - close to green/yellow line and red line Underground; close to Paddington station (and route to Heathrow), lots of grocery stores and restaurants.

Nothing superior about the apartment we got! Not sure if it was because we booked with Expedia that we got a basement apartment right next to the laundry room? The apartment had hardly any daylight, the sofa bed was dirty and not done up, we didn’t get any sleep because someone was having a party on the 2nd floor until the morning Friday night. In the morning we had the windows open to get some air in as got very stuffy after keeping them closed due to the noise, then cleaning staff were smoking outside the our windows and the whole apartment stank of cigarettes. We did an early check out because we didn’t want to stay there another night, and would like a refund of the money we paid for the 2 nights. The apartment we got was looked nothing like the photos that Expedia used in their advertisement. We were not sold what was promised.

Very close to two underground stations, lots of restaurants, and minutes from Hyde Park. Overall, an excellent location.

We had an upper level apartment. 58 steps to the top. May not be suitable for people who are older, out of shape or overweight. Also, no air conditioning!

The location was great, close to tube stations, restaurants, Hyde Park, groceries shops. The reception was at 55, Inverness Terrace, which is 2mins walking distance. The receptionist was very kind allowing us to check in earlier after a long flight - it was much appreciated. Bed and pillows were comfortable for us, we slept well.
There room was decent, with basic amenities needed in a flat. The floor squeaked everytime you move - might be a problem for a light sleeper. The bathroom was quite small, very little space to move. It would be great if kitchen has more things provided ie kitchen towels, salt, pepper, sugar, tea. But you could easily get these in the groceries shop if you are staying longer.

Well it’s basically the same as a lot of people have been complaining about. The hot water in the shower was hit or miss. The carpet in the passageway was never vacuumed and it had unknown stains all over it. The room was never checked on by staff, so the trash was full, the bathroom got messy quick, there was traces of mold in the shower, we ran out of toilet paper, and the towels got nasty after continued use for 5 days. There was possibly mold on the wallpaper in the upper corner of the room. But worst of all was that the twin beds have NEVER been moved and cleaned under. There was about 1/4 inch of dust and goodness knows what under the beds. I should have looked under there the first day. I would have demanded my money back. DON NOT RENT HERE. Spend a little more and get a QUALITY room.

Don’t believe the pictures advertised

Front desk was very nice and helpful. Rooms are not what it looks like in website. A used dirty towel was left in closet. There was around 6 hair strands on a clean towel and another 2 strands on another. When I pull the sheets back there was short strands of hair on my bed sheets n cover. Room was very hot and you have to keep the stand up fan running with window open to get any air circulating for room. I definitely would not recommend this place. Picture is false if you are looking for cleanliness.

The building is a very old one and certainly not what’s depicted in the photo.
A flight of about 6 landings and no elevator. At check in, the gentleman arranged for my boxes to be carried out. At checkout however, a different person asked that I carry my boxes myself! I left them there 😡
The window blinds do not black out.
Kitchenette is good that’s about the best thing.

Not a great deal of info about check in. Found it eventually, address was one number on the street and check in was at an entirely different number. Late at night this wasn’t ideal. Apartment itself was fine for a night although perhaps some tea/coffee would not go amiss.

Good staff great location

Check in and out is a breeze room was fine always nice to get the back rooms no street noise, in fact, hardly any noise at all. Having a cooker makes all the difference being able to cook some healthy food. Spoilt for choice for eateries in Bayswater. Great to leave bags at check out for no cost. Only beware of the stairs if you have a lot of bags or heavy bags no elevators and lots of stairs but I do like this place. Personally, I would like a firmer mattress.

Accomodation generally ok, except that it needs a lift. We were given a room in the attic and had to struggle up 6 flights of narrow staircases to get to our room with 3 heavy suitcases! Shower had stain marks and the door does not shut properly.

apartment was good.but stairs almost killed me..i was lucky to park outside the office at 55 but was told i had to go to other building across and down the rd. i asked if i was ok to park there and was told yes? but came back for luggage and had parking ticket. so not a good start ..then i could not find parking and reception had no idea..had to drive around searching..

The location was fantastic, very close to Bayswater and Queensway Tube stations.

The fixtures and fittings were is disrepair in the bathroom, the room wasn’t clean, there were crumbs and dirt scattered around the floor, the bed and bed sheets were uncomfortable.

The location was great and in general the room was OK. My issue was that we had no hot water in our shower. We called them up on our first morning and they sent in an engineer who was in our room for over an hour. In the end we decided to leave him there as it was delaying our plans for the morning. He said it was almost done at this stage. That evening we came back and still did not have hot water! We didn't have long before we went to our show so each rushed a very cold shower each. When we checked out in the morning I told the receptionist who didn't even apologise. Just simply said 'thanks for letting us know.'

We were told the aptment was on forth floor and it was on SIXTH FLOOR or seventh level, from street 97 steep steps to get to flat. We were there 5 nights and it was never cleaned or trash was ever picked up. Keep having to go back to office to get toilet paper as they would only give one roll at the time. The fire alarm would go off with just toaster and we could also here other flats alarms go off early every morning. Cooking became a challenge because of the alarm going off so easily.

Location was great. Property size was ample for 4 people and it was clean. Sink in bathroom was blocked and the beds were hard and uncomfortable but for the price I didn’t expect anything else. For one night it was bearable but could not have stayed for another night

Room was of good standard for a shirt stay in London. Well priced and great location!
Only thing wrong was shower tap didn’t work and was only hit water coming out of the shower and no shampoo only soap. Otherwise a pleasant stay!

Absolutely awful on so many levels

First the reception is not at the property, it is down the road. So if you are a lone traveler this should be made clear.

The apartment stank of stale smoke.

The main photos were not of the apartment I booked. Not even the same lay out.

There was a steep ladder (not a staircase as shown in the pictures) to get up and down to the mezzanine bedroom and bathroom.

The bathroom stank of mould

The plug socket upstairs didn’t work

The tv didn’t work.

It was incredibly noisy from the road outside and the other rooms. It was impossible to sleep.

When I said that this was not what I had booked and did not want to stay, the receptionist couldn’t do anything as I had to wait for the manager the next day.

The next day after not feeling safe, and not having slept and feeling like I had been falsely sold something - I decided to leave. The hotel refused to refund my extra nights

I think that enough. PLEASE do not stay here!
