There are many different room types available at this hotel and we booked an elite double, which was not the cheapest nor most expensive room. At over £200 a night we were disappointed to be in a very small basement room with low ceiling. We didn’t plan to spend much time in the room so didn’t ask if any other rooms were available, but perhaps we should have done.
Our room was LG1 which has an entrance to below stairs service area directly outside, this meant we couldn’t have our curtains open at any time as there were near constant work people/staff outside the window accessing the hotel from the street down the basement stairs. This was particularly disturbing at midnight when laundry/rubbish was being collected and there was a lot of noise and rummaging right outside our window.
Other than this, the hotel was very pleasant, with good communal areas, very helpful and polite staff, and a simple but high quality offer for breakfast. We had an issue with accessing the safe and a faulty bathroom door and both were instantly resolved when reported. I would just recommend looking into what type of room you are getting.
I would advise the hotel staff inform guests if there will be excessive noise/work taking place outside bedroom windows at anti social hours. If I’d been a single woman in the room I would have been very alarmed.

Location is wonderful. Close to tube station, within a 10 minute walk we were touring Kensington Palace. Great restaurants and coffee shops in the area. Room was huge, comfortable and clean. Shower was excellent. Staff was super helpful and friendly. Will absolutely stay again when visiting London.

We were given an accessible room despite not needing one. The good thing was that it was on the ground floor and a good size but apart from that, everything else was subpar. It was almost impossible to get hot water from the wash basin as the basin was too small and the water pressure was too high causing the water to splatter everywhere. An accessible toilet also meant that it was always wet after someone showered. Housekeeping never washed the cups in the room and I’m not even sure if they replaced the towels daily.

Lovely hotel, in a very convenient location, just 5 minute walk to the tube, and 1 stop to Paddington. Very quiet and peaceful. Comfortable beds, good size room. Breakfast was adequate, continental style. There is an outside garden which is lovely. Staff friendly and helpful.
Only complaint - the lift was out of order and we were on the 3rd floor so it was a bit of a hike to the room. Staff did offer to carry luggage up however. TVs didn't work on first day/ night...wasn't bothered really as we were out.

Amazing place for a family stay
We are a family travelling with a 9 and 14 year old. We booked a family room and it was super spacious. Apartment style with 2 rooms, 2 complete bathrooms and TV in each room. Boys love it. Area is central to tube station with plenty of restaurants and shops around. Most sure we will book again

Hotel great. Location great. Room great. WiFi not great. Didn’t work at all, had to cancel meetings as a result. TVs all WiFi dependant so no TV. Need a better contingency for this. Also, £50 deposit taken rather than a pre-authorisation. One more thing to manage, when you stay in 15-20 hotels a month, it’s a pain.

Suite was very awkward
My husband, son, and I traveled through London for one night and stayed in a suite room. I did not realize that the two rooms of the suite (a basement room) were separated by locking, very heavy, room entrance-style doors. We needed our key card to get into each bedroom. I opened the bolts so that the doors would not lock automatically, but of course moments after entering my son undid the bolt and locked us out of the bedroom with the keys (and the one we had put into the slot to operate the lights didn't work), so we had to get the front desk to let us in). The doors were also VERY heavy, so it was cumbersome to get in and out of the bedrooms, especially for my young son. The air conditioning didn't work in my son's room or the shared hallway, so we ended up propping open the doors so the other room's air could circulate. Since the doors were so heavy, we just had to wedge chairs in the way and then climb over them to move about. I'm glad we didn't stay here more than one night. The location is very good for access to Kensington Park.

I have stayed in many hotels in London and I must say, the '55' had the MOST HELPFUL AND FRIENDLY staff I have ever encountered! Every staff member went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable and comfortable, from the welcome email to the check-out.
The hotel was comfortable, clean and quiet at night, making for a good night's sleep.
The continental breakfast had a wide variety of options and was served in a lovely sunny breakfast room with a beautiful garden terrace.

The TV quality on conventional channels are quite poor and it couldn't connect to our device via the instructions on the screen. Other than that, everything else are good. Just be aware, there is no sleepers provided, not a big deal to us tho.

This is the easiest hotel recommendation I've ever written. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. The location is great; a stone's throw to a number of shops, markets, and restaurants, and a short walk to the Circle Line. It's also a ten minute walk to Portobello Road.
The hotel itself is lovely; the rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable. Where 55 really shines is in their high service level and wonderful staff. From check-in to check-out, everyone we interacted with was helpful and gregarious.

Upon checking in they did not acknowledge our free vip complimentary breakfast, I had to ask and then they found the notes in booking. We also had no hot water the first morning and instead of changing rooms for us they asked at first if they could get us to shower in a room adjacent until they could resolve the problem which was odd. When we pushed back as our day was already delayed in starting they agreed to let us change rooms. The breakfast was ok, if it was not complimentary I would not have been happy with the price and selection offered.

I would have never imagined that our stay in the bustling Bayswater area could be so quiet. The staff at 55 by Le Mirage placed us in a courtyard room on the first floor. The double room was cozy and designed well with a small entry area, another area with a desk, and a really big bathroom. Four different USB charging areas (8 ports), which was more than what two people needed. The breakfast was cold continental, with plenty of options and fruits, breads, and cereals. Great location, tastefully done, and a healthy breakfast to start your London day.

The Bathroom was few steps down from the room. For elderly people like us at night there was probability of falling down. As soon as we saw this came down and requested the night Manager. He said you should have told as soon as you were checked in. Since we didn’t see the room, how could we know. He said we can change the room the next day.
