My experience at Smart Hyde Park Inn Hostel was truly exceptional.

The hostel's prime location in Central London was perfect for getting anywhere in the city, and the easy access to public transport made getting around a breeze.

The staff at the hostel “ Monalisa, Ali and Lucrezia” were incredibly welcoming and helpful, ensuring that my stay was comfortable and enjoyable.

I stayed in a private. It was clean, comfortable and great AC and hot water. Water heater and blow dryer as well. Loved staying here. Since we had a private, it was free to use luggage storage which is super big and digital lock code! Cooked some breakfast in the kitchen each morning. Reception was super nice and helpful. Super close to underground tube/subway.
Good to know:
The room is pretty small. Put your luggage under the bed to make space.
You need to pay to rent a towel or bring your own.
We were on the 4th floor. It was a lot of stairs. Not a con for us, but may be difficult for others especially if you have big luggage.

Wasn't sure what to expect from a hostel. Linen was clean, bed was fine if a bit small. Got unlucky with room mates - top bunk snored loudly, and when they moved the whole bed frame (including bottom bunks) shook. Shower was cramped and tiny; I didn't end up using it. It may just be that I'm not cut out for hostels though!

Pretty much as expected. The staff was fine, the facilities okay, and they do their best to keep it clean. My main issues were with other guests being inconsiderate, but in a room of nine that's to be expected. The only difficulties I had with the hostel itself was the often confusing layout, and an expensive laundry fee with a dryer that doesn't fully dry the clothes.

Booked £12 bed for 3 nights online, going by the pictures alone.
Once checked in, went with my several carrier bags and suitcase, the kind thats next size up from a cabin bag.
The room was tiny, 3 beds high and at least 20 beds crammed together. Floor filled with scattered underwear, clothing, overflowing bags, footwear, and it wreaked of dirty smell. Locker below bed was occupied by someone's clothing. I went back out to reception & they said use another locker. One empty, but couldn't get my suitcase in. Then i fill it with my bags. Back to reception to ask for case to be stored in left luggage. Was told theres a storeroom in the basement but i couldn't get access to it, and once its there, then would only get back knce checked out. No use to me coz i had specified upon booking that im disabled. Then i asked if i could use the large upright lockers in the reception area. Refused, boz they were not available. By this time im getting very worried and anxious. It was after 10pm, and since the location was almost 1hour away by bus from city centre, i didnt have much choice but to stay. Then i asked if there was any private rooms, as advertised as a bunk with double bed on base and single on top. Was going to be charged over £40, whereas advertised as £37. Told thats been removed. Finally, had to book into last double room, which i was told was their \"new room\". At a price of a touch over £60 per night.And as a bonus, breakfast included. Which turned out to be basic continental

Smart Hyde Park Inn Hostel is located in central London. It is easy to get to by bus or tube. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were a little cramped for space but at least social distancing was observed. The kitchen is small and very busy.There was only one stove and one microwave so queues quiclky formed. It is quite quiet and lots of relaxing space. Nice tvs and Wi Fi. Also Tv on demand via an app. Excellent value for money and will stay again

Positives first! It is located only five minutes from Queensway underground station, so easy for travel purposes. The breakfast is also good enough - toast, cereal, and a selection of hot and cold drinks. I never really go for fancy breakfasts anyway. The bunk, with the curtains pulled over, offered me a good degree of privacy and the 11:30 lights out rule is ideal for a dormitory. The staff were also helpful when I lost my keycard, and they were happy to answer any questions.

Downsides! Don't pick here if you have any sort of mobility issue. There are multiple floors, no automatically opening doors and it has a lot of turning stairs. Pretty, but not good for those who are less-than-able-bodied. If you are particularly affected by the smell of weed, avoid. There seems to be near-constant smoking outside and it does often waft indoors.

First time at a hostel, and never again.

We stayed in a 4 bedroom ensuite, and the bathroom was MUCH smaller than expected. About the size of a port-a-potty was what contained the shower, toilet, and sink. Virtually unusable to get changed inside there or properly take a shower. The rooms were clean but there were bugs in the bathroom, and it was VERY hot for staying in April. Having to put your own sheets on the bed wasn't fun either.

Fairly good location, but that's pretty much it. Rooms were tiny and poorly ventilated with rickety metal beds that made any movement from others make it shake. Pillows were flat and uncomfortable, and the bedding they give you doesn't even include a fitted sheet. On top of that, it looks like the cleaning they do pretty much only involves vacuuming and folding the comforter. No cleaning seems to be done on any surface at all. On top of all that, the staff were very unfriendly and unhelpful.

The hotel was absolutely filthy. I checked in and then immediately checked out as the room was simply too dirty to stay in. There was food left in the bed and the duvet is not changed between guests. There was also old food and trash left in the room.

Good location and price. Too many beds, like a submarine barracks with little ventilation. The outside tables in front are a nice feature yet they close it at 10 pm and everyone has to stand or sit on the ground. Lots of local drug dealers around mingleing and bumming cigs.

The area has everything: ellegance, quiet, restaurant and stores a block away, 2 underground stations and buses within walking ditance, and it is 15 min from Paddington station (on foot). The room is simple and fir short stsy or quick layover, it is GREAT for the money.

Good location close to Hyde Park. Beds okay, good that each bed has it’s own curtains to stop light and increase privacy. Bad that they have electronic lockers in the bedrooms that you have to pay extra to use. Showers - not enough water pressure during busy periods ... water just trickles our. Average breakfast - just milk and cereals, bread and jam, tea/coffee and fruit juice ... all CARBS. There are better hostels available in London.

Worst sleep of my life

The staff did not seem knowledgeable of transit, use of oyster cards or sightseeing. Any questions I had about these they looked up on the internet, which I had already done myself and was unable to find an answer to. The rooms were packed with people who left on their phones and were in and out of the room turning on the light at all hours during the night and early morning. Little information is posted on the website for how their lockers etc. actually work with respect to fees etc.

I had to haul my bags up very narrow staircases all the way to the 4th floor. I stayed in a 4-bed en-suite. The room had 2 bunk beds and not a single chair. The bed/mattress is very narrow - definitely not a standard 3-feet single. There is no power point or shelf next to the bed for your stuff. Other than the excellent location, there is no positive about this place.

8 day solo vacation

I visited London alone for vacation and it was my first time. My preferences were location, free wifi and breakfast. I wanted a place not too far from the airport and also to the city centre where the tourist attractions are and I got just that. The hostel is also close to some attraction sites that you could easily walk to. The Wi-Fi was fast both at common areas and rooms even at the uppermost floor. I stayed in the 6 bed ensuite and the room was cleaned daily.
The con I think I have is the bunk beds. It was too low to even sit in especially if you are a tall person. Breakfast was very basic (bread, cereal, with tea coffe and juice) that you will find it tiring if you are staying for longer days. Also, some night crawlers don't know how to keep shut when they come in late thereby disturbing people that had slept. But overall, I will advise anyone going for tourist to consider here.

Meh, it was okay for a 1 night stay.

Well, the hostel is situated in a really interesting building, i like the architecture of it)
The staff at the reception had stone face expressions, didn't felt welcoming. At least smile when you see the arriving guests - makes you and your hostel look better.
Also, the staff only gives you instructions to where your room is located, they don't show where it is, which is fine, but can be a bit confusing at first.
At some point i noticed two ladies checking in and one of the male staff members just pointed up the stairs where their room was supposedly located and left the women carry the huge suitcases themselves! the stairs were pretty steep... come on, i'm sure you could have helped...
You have to make your own bed, and the lockers are \"pay-to-play\".
You can go in and out whenever you'd like, which is nice.
And the breakfast was okay - jam, chocolate spread, juices, coffee, milk and cereal.
it's a bit disappointing, that you can't sit in the lobby and have a snack as food is forbidden. nor you can eat in the rooms. but you have a vending machine (good) in the lobby, so if you need something during the night you won't have to walk far. still, you'll have to eat it outside or break the rules and eat it inside.
I'm glad i was there for only one night.
Guys, if you boost your service, then your hostel would be better and probably worth recommending. So far it isn't.

Excellent location, 1min walk from nearest tube, shops, fast food outlets and restaurants. Cleanliness bang average. Cooking facilities good, with fridge. Tv room. Major downfall is how hot the whole building is, especially in the rooms. I stayed in the middle of winter and the heat was still unbearable, wouldn’t like to think how hot it would be in summer!! There’s no heater in the rooms it’s just a very hot building, guessing it’s due to hot water pipes? Not sure. Also the beds aren’t huge, length wise, I’m 5ft 10 and just about fit, if you’re 6ft or taller you won’t be able to lay flat.

I booked the 10 bed female ensuite but I was disappointed with the ensuite as it was too small if you wanted to use the toilet or wash basin, the shower was ok. There was also only cold water coming from a wash basin between the 1st & 2nd floors (below room 68) & no sink plugs at all.

I've stayed in multiple hostels and this by far was the worst. The rooms were abnormally small so it made the room incredibly stuffy by putting nine beds in there. I never once had hot water and in the bathroom in my room you couldn't turn in a full circle without hitting something. The staff was very nice, but the facility itself was miserable. I considered staying on my friend's floor in a different hostel.

The experience was OK. The rooms were OK. The staff was OK. Nothing was spetacular about this hostel. There was this one Italian lady who cleaned the rooms who was terribly rude. Idk if Europe doesn’t care about customer service and hospitality like America does but there is no way staff should be rude to guest. The front desk people were nice enough which made up for the rude maid. The rooms were crazy hot without the window open and I got sick with the window open because the weather was pretty sucky, so it was a lose lose. The area was nice because it was pretty close to everything and very easy to get around so the hostel get an A for that. But that was the only thing I really liked about the hostel.

Despite it not being overly hot outside (end of Sept weather, grey skies) the room was unbearably hot and the two fans in the room did little to compensate. The bedding itself was of good quality but too thick for that kind of temperature and I spent nights uncomfortable and sweating alongside eleven other people doing the same. The rooms were cleaned while I stayed there but not enough to keep up with users eating in the rooms and leaving mess all over the floors. The rooms were laid out well but cramped, as was breakfast where I found myself stood some mornings as I ate my toast. During the day, the kitchen/lounge areas had enough tables and chairs for you to sit, but outside the window, atop some steps smokers congregate and sat by the window means breathing in their smoke every ten minutes or so.

Smart hyde park inn is the best hostel in the central of London , people who work there are so friendly and cute. The cleaners are making big efforts to make all the rooms daily clean.it's location is so interesting, it's close to everything. Only 1 minute to the underground station to circle and district line and 5 minutes to central line underground station. Bayswater are is so secure and safe. The breakfast is absolutely perfect. The price is respectful. I advise everyone who travels to London to stay in the magical Smart Hyde Park Inn.

Awful hot hostel with lots of stairs and cramped

I've stayed in alot of hostels travelling abroad but this was the worse. Location - good. The hostel wasn't just hot it was cramped and stuffy. The fans didn't do alot for air con so you had to leave the windows open so it was noisy. We were initially put on the 3rd (top) floor in a creeped hot room. Lots of stairs but the bathroom on the middle floor out of order so you had to go down 3 flights of stairs. The room on the 2nd floor we ask to be moved to wasn't much better. It's cheap but I wouldn't recommend it. And this doesn't even cover the incident I had with the night staff and one of them trying it on with me. I booked for two nights. I cancelled the second

Friendly staff, clean laundry, average breakfast. Located in a beautiful street. Next to subway station and very close to Notring Hill Gate. Shower in the room, which is an advatage and I would rate it better if there weren't 6 beds in such a small room. The third bed on top of the bunker bed is too close to the ceiling and makes the room a little claustrophobic. With 4 beds in that room with private bathroom, it would be perfect.

I stayed in a room with a bunk bed. The room and the en suite bathroom were clean. It was very small and was on the 4th floor. There was no lift, so it was difficult lugging my suitcases up. There wasn't much space to put my belongings. The location is good. It is near Bayswater and Queensway station. It is very near Hyde park. The area is beautiful, but the view from my window was not that great.

It was alright, even though a little creepy for a single girl in a mixed room (gotta save what you can save). The area is a little shady at night, but other than that it's really accessible, takes about 30 minutes to get anywhere, really near Hyde Park and you get two Tube stations next to each other (Queensway or Bayswater) depending which line is more convenient for your travels. The room was cleaner than I thought it would be, and the toilet wasn't that disgusting - just wear slippers, you don't know what shoes stepped on that perpetually damp, plastic floor. Over all, good price for a short stay in central London.

Stay in the center of London cheap

We had a nice stay in the center of London for 53 pounds in total for 3 persons - so it was perfect. But I can recommend to ask for a room for women if you are only women - because we woke up by a drunk man in the middle of the night which wasn't that nice

Not a bad option for a cheap stay, but add ons for a locker to keep your valuables safe etc. If alone i wouldn't stay in a hostel again but if in a group/friends it's ideal for people on a budget in London.
