The room was spacious and comfortable. Walls have marks and floors looked a bit dirty but overall stay was nice. Nearby subway stations and very close to shopping and convenience stores. The front desk staff was nice. Did laundry and the dryer was not very strong so it took over an hour to dry our load. Overall stay was convenient and satisfying.

I enjoyed staying here as it was close enough to Myeongdong, but still far enough to avpid the craziness. It is at a nice border and very close to both City Hall station, and the City Hall Plaza Hotel where the Airport Limousine bus can take you to and from the airport.
The breakfast was a nice add-on as it can be hard to find breakfast optipns early in the morning.
The room design is great and the bed is very comfortable.
My only feedback is that though the toilet was clean, the toilet seat was slightly coming off due to the hinges, so that should he fixed for safety.
The front desk staff was great and I would stay here again!

We enjoyed our stay. The room was clean, but note that the rooms are only serviced every 3 days. People are always smoking outside the doors, so the lobby unfortunately smells like smoke. The city hall location is very convenient for commuting, and there are plenty of restaurants nearby. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Free luggage storage was also a great option.

To be clear, this hotel is located more on the northwest border of Myeongdong and not right around the shopping street/station. It's about a 15-20 minute walk away.

Initially, we wanted to stay in the heart of Myeongdong to be close to the “action.”That would have been a mistake. This place was FAR better. Quietly tucked away from the main street (thus, quieter), you are still surrounded by many eateries and shopping.

You’re a 5-minute walk from the City Hall metro stop (1 stop from Seoul Station), Namdaemun Market, and Deoksugung Palace. If you’re so inclined, you can walk 25 minutes up the main road past the statues of King Sejong and Admiral Yi Sun-sin to Gyeongbokgung. Otherwise, there’s a bus stop less than 5 minutes away that will take you directly there.

The hotel has very nice service and all the amenities you need for your stay. Staff is very welcoming and spoke good English. The laundry facility was especially helpful. We booked the Family Suite which was just right for our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids 10 and under). It has a double bed and a twin. I didn't get to try to the breakfast, but it looked delicious.

I'm happy I made the choice to stay here. Would definitely stay again.

I came here alone for a 6 night stay during my stay at Seoul. The room was clean and well decorated. It’s perfect for 1-2 people as the room was a bit small. Some things that I didn’t like: (1) Your room gets cleaned every 3 days unless you request for other days (2) When they clean the room, they do not clean the used cups or refill the tea/coffee (3) You have to go through a little alley street to get to the hotel. It could be quite intimidating if it’s too late into the night as it’s dark. Overall, I enjoyed my stay here as it was reasonably priced and close to places I wanted to go to.

I stayed in 3 different rooms over my time (from personal stay to tour group rooms). The shower was great in the first room, but kept falling off the hook or spraying everywhere in the next two rooms.

The floor was also carpet in only one of the rooms. For cleanliness, I appreciated the laminate flooring more and wish they were all like that.

Great location, City centre train station just a few minutes walk. A 15 minute walk to Meyong-dong walking street for the night time street food, shopping and people watching. The only issue was the ‘hot’ items were always cold until the last morning of my stay. It’s almost like the hot plates were not turned on. I was there for breakfast as soon as the restaurant opened so it’s not like the food had been sitting around for long. For a budget hotel I thought it was great value in a suburb location.

I booked at this location because it was central to everything and uptown. It was close to the two main subway lines that can take you anywhere. It’s close to the Myeong-dong market. There are two 7/11 stores near this hotel to pick up refreshments. This hotel also has a WOWPASS machine, which is excellent if you want a combo prepaid debit/T-money card. Staff was friendly and room AC was godsend. It is a bit noisy in the hallway, especially for those coming home late. I would stay at this hotel again.

Staff at the front desk provide excellent customer service and very friendly. I was due to check out as had booked independently for one night before then staying for a 3 further nights as part of a group tour, as I was happy with my room they checked me straight back in and I was able to leave my stuff in my room. Room and bathroom clean, bed very comfy. Good size room for either one or two people. Also have luggage storage area if you have to go away and come back as part of a guided tour and it’s all free. Very impressed.

1. The room was not clean. We saw the same dirty spots when we checked-in and throughout our stay. There was dust everywhere especially the bathroom (toilet tank, behind the toilet tank, bathroom mirror). No toiletries or coffee packs were replishened until we asked the front desk to do so.
2. There is no exhaust fan in the bathroom.
3. Air conditioning was not on when the temperature was in the mid 70s farenheit. The front desk said it is not Spring; isn't April considered a Spring month?
4. We found hair in one of the trays in the breakfast buffet. It was brought to the staff's attention and all they did was remove it from the tray and still continue to serve it as if nothing happened. GROSS!!
5. Only one key card was given until we asked to provide a spare one.
6. Not enough washing and drying machine on premise. Another guest removed all of our clothes from the washing machine when we came downstairs to put in the dryer. We were only a couple minutes late to retrieve our items... It is so incredibly rude!

The property is conveniently located close to Myeongdong market, City Hall and within 1 mile of Seoul Station. The beds were pretty comfortable, but the room was a tad small for the 3 of us. Manageable, though. My only complaint was the AC and refrigerator were turned off because it was April and the weather was still cold (off even on warm days). We had to have front desk store our refrigerated items.

This is good location close to shops and subway lines. Also close enough to Seoul Station if youre gonna be moving a lot.
The property is clean and modern. Gym is also decent (some marshmallow weight but fine, also got a treadmill and some kind of bowflex machine) if youre a gym rat who cant miss gym even on vacation. Property is simple hassle free. Staff is accomodating and nice. Dont expect 5 star but this is good comfortable modern and clean convenient hotel. Good value for your money. I would definitely stay again.

This is a great hotel. The beds were super comfortable! That really helped with the jet lag. The breakfast has plenty of Korean and Western options. There is tons to do in the area and convenient to the subway and other transportation. Elevator was fast and the room was very clean. Gym was well stocked and we received great recommendations from the desk staff.

Everything about my stay was great! The location was an easy commute to city hall station, was 5min walk from Namdaemun market, and the surrounding area was very nice. Not a dealbreaker for me, but the description on the website said the myeongdong was only a 5 minute commute. From my experience, this was not accurate at all. Instead, it took around 15 minutes to get there, but it wouldn’t prevent me from booking at this location again. Additionally, the area was quite noisy. The wall is pretty thin, so you could hear everything going on in your neighbor’s room as well as outside of your window. Again, this wasn’t a dealbreaker for me, but there is something to keep in mind if you’re looking for a quiet location.

If you prefer a quick summary, here it is: do not stay here. The building has a persistent unpleasant smell and is not clean.

The only positive things I can say about this place are that the receptionists were welcoming and that it is well located. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. The building was poorly maintained and had a strong, musty smell throughout, from the elevator to the hallways and even in the room. It seems like the carpets need to be cleaned, which may be contributing to the odor.
Additionally, the rooms were not very clean. The walls had marks on them, and found some hair on the bed. The bathroom was also poorly maintained.
It seems that many of the positive reviews for this establishment may be influenced by a promotional offer. Guests who leave a review can receive a late checkout, and one hour of that late checkout is complimentary. Otherwise, there is a fee for late checkouts charged by the hour.
I highly recommend that you avoid staying at this establishment if you can.

Unsafe getting in and out of the shower/bathtub. We were taller than average, but we still had to be extra careful in stepping in and out. Your Staff was very good, but you need to give them more to work with. Your restaurant was way over-priced and underwhelming in their menu selections. Our group of 8 found a few terrific restaurants within a half or a full block from the hotel.

Extremely disappointed in the cleanliness of the hotel - we noticed that the staff never once changed the sheets/pillowcase/covers during the entirety of our stay. The bathroom was hardly cleaned as well (we noticed the same stains on the sink, tub, floor, etc). For the price we definitely expected a bit more, but maybe that's just how all Travelodge locations are. That being said, location is great, city hall has easy subway access and lots of restaurants within a 5-min walk radius.

Check in was a breeze, enjoyed the daily breakfast included with the stay, variety of food choices. Lack of amenities, no face towel, no conditioner just shampoo and body wash. Only 1 pillow per person which was uncomfortable as I’m used to 2-3 pillows. The service from staff were excellent. They are friendly and helpful. Also has laundry at the basement so convenient to wash clothes. I highly recommend this hotel it is nearby to many attractions- walking distance.

Very satisfied with our stay. Friendly and helpful staff, room was bigger than expected. Clean and spacious. Toilet has a bath tub which i am not usually a fan of, but the bath tub design is such that the water does not splash out and cause the toilet to flood. Needless to say, great location - walking distance (10-15 minutes) to Namdaemun/Myeongdong markets, underground shopping centers, subways, bus stops and convenient stores. There is also a famous and delicious sundae restaurant called Nongmin Baekam Sundae right behind the hotel (must try!) Overall, my friend and I had a pleasant stay, thank you to the team for the hospitality!

What I truly enjoyed about my stay is the staff. They were wiling to help and they always had a smile on their face, a trait rather hard to find among retail workers in Korea.

As for the location, it simply cannot be beat. From local eateries to department stores to city markets, I don't think I could have found a better place to stay at.

Did I mention breakfast? For a complementary breakfast, it is superb.

Are there other hotels nearby? Yes, but Travelodge will hold a special place in my heart.

I believed some customer might be complaining, but actually this was a group of people in the hallway making noise, not us. They should sent someone to check instead to call to the room to wake us up.

Unfortunately the hotel requires a renovation, given the condition of the rooms. The double room was nice enough and a bit roomier than some Asian hotel rooms, but the room was showing some wear and tear. Shower had mould and yellowing wallpaper on the walls. Carpet was stained and generally un-enticing.
However, the pluses was a great location, walkable to Myeongdong and other nearby areas, close to shops, restaurants (right around the corner)and the night markets.
The room itself had a safe, shower had ample hot water with great water pressure. Beds were comfy enough and clean.
