Good all round hotel. Bed comfortable, spacious room, very clean throughout, reasonable prices at bar, well cooked and presented breakfast. Only negatives, no fresh fruit for breakfast, only grapefruit, very small TVand biggest radiator in our room wasn’t working but this wasn’t a major issue for us but it would be in winter.

The hotel is located a 15 minute walk into the city but with some restaurants and pubs close bye. It is very clean and well maintained. The breakfast was excellent and so were the staff. Our room was small but adequate and very clean. We would stay there again.

Excellent location. We managed to get a free parking space just down the road. Just a short walk into the city. We had a big room at the front overlooking the street and garden with a huge bay window. Very clean. Breakfast was wonderful. They cater for everyone including vegans, which was a bonus and the table service was very quick. Food was hot and delicious. Staff were all very polite.
The only negative was the extremely firm mattress, which I struggled with., but it wouldn't stop us staying again.

Absolutely amazing stay. Staff were brilliant and very helpful, location is perfect and room was great. Breakfast was amazing with lots of chooce available. Only slight blip was the water pressure of the shower. But thks did t detract from a lovely weekend away. Will certainly look to book again.

Breakfast and dinner are served on the main floor, though we only had breakfast during our stay. There was a good variety of hot and cold options, with starters, main dishes, juices, tea, and coffee. The service was great with the full house.
The hotel also has a bar and lounge area, plus a spacious front garden where you can relax.
We also enjoyed a visit to the movie theater just a few minutes away—great prices, a wide variety of food and drink options, and cozy seating. There's also a convenience store nearby, which we are always finding in our travels.

An amazing stay from start to finish. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. It was like home from home. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable. The bedrooms were nice and big and the bathrooms were equipped with everything for a great stay. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. There was a great bar there and the garden outside was nice to sit in too. The breakfast menu was fab and had a lot of choices including for vegans. I didn't try the evening meal menu which looked great as it was fully booked during my stay which is a testament to the quality of the food there. I would definitely stay there again and can't recommend it highly enough.

Parking is a nightmare at this hotel. Our car was blocked in every night. On check in we were told to book by 4pm if we wanted dinner in the hotel. On the second day of our stay I tried to book at midday only to be told that dinner was fully booked. Asked the Receptionist if we could have a sandwich only to be told they don't do sandwiches after 4pm! She suggested 2 places we could eat which were a 20 minute walk in the rain as I couldn't get the car out. After walking in the rain the place she suggested was not serving food that day. If a 60 room hotel is unable to make a couple of sandwiches to save two 70 year olds from getting wet through then that is a poor job!

This is a nice hotel in good location. They have free parking and that is a plus. The host works very hard to see that you have a good stay. The breakfast area is rather busy with a fixed breakfast that is not self serve.. As in many of these stately hotels in England, you have to struggle up three flights of stairs with your luggage as there is no lift. I think it is some kind of law in England about what you can and cannot do with your hotel but I don't know. If you have any mobility issue you better check with the hotel before you book.

Unfortunately on arrival our allocated room didn’t match our expectations and we were moved to an alternative room without a problem.
The hotel is approximately 20 minutes walk from the train station. As it is located outside the centre it is extremely quiet.
The room was well equipped and spacious.
Breakfast was excellent as were the waiting staff.
The on site bar was a welcome addition.
It was a very relaxing stay and I would recommend it.

On arrival the staff were helpful and friendly. The breakfast was excellent. The room was comfortable, modern and very clean. The bed was very comfortable too, i had 2 great nights sleep. Parking was tricky, but the staff went above and beyond to get us a spot.
The only 'dislike\" was the shower/bath. It was very high and a little worrying getting out as there was no grab rail to help. Other than that 10/10

We stayed here as it was such a good price for a night in York. When we arrived, we Pulled into the car park, which was full. A lovely member of staff moved a car so that we could have a space, which was so kind, and greatly appreciated. When we went into the hotel, we knew we had made a good choice. It was decked out with a huge Christmas tree, and was just very welcoming. When we checked in, we told the lady that we had to book a twin room as all the doubles had gone. After a couple of minutes, she had managed to swap our room to a double, which again was above and beyond. We went to explore the Christmas market, which was literally a 10 minute walk. Making it a perfect location. The room was spotless, and roomy. Breakfast was fabulous, you could chose from a selection of food to start - grapefruit, granola/yoghurt & honey, cereals and pastries. Then several choices for your main breakfast. We went for the full English with toast, tea and fresh juice. Faultless, and the staff really looked after us. Do not hesitate to book, we will be back when we visit York next. A little gem. Thank you 😁

We stayed for 1 night only and from the moment we arrived the staff couldn't have been more helpful. We were able to park in the hotel car park but spaces are limited. There is parking available on the street outside but check the signs as some places are for 2 hours max.
The hotel is welcoming, warm and very comfy. Our room, no. 40, a twin, is on the top floor and suited us perfectly. It's quiet and spotlessly clean with plenty of room for all our things.The shower is hot but dont expect a power shower! We were treated to a welcome coffee and the breakfast was really good quality and plenty of it. It was a lovely stay, wish it had been for longer
