Staff was extremely helpful, the person who checked us in went above and beyond. He helped us with finding the right Trains, and times to leave to make the most of our day at Mt Titlis. We didn't have the right electrical wall adapter for our room and he lent us one at no cost. The place is clean, conveniently right neside the trainstation. Great stay!

We stayed here as the first stop on our honeymoon through Switzerland and Italy. Upon arrival we were surprised to see our bed decorated with rose petals and heart shaped towels, along with a card, a complimentary bottle of wine and some chocolates. Definitely started our trip off on the right foot.
The staff was very friendly and the room was very clean, the bed was very comfortable as well.
The location was great, a short 5 minute walk to the train station to make use of the Lucerne visitor card for frequent trips into Lucerne city center.

Located out of the main centre but within easy walking distance of both a train and bus to the centre . Hotel gave us a free pass for the public transport . Coffee in room was nice but would like a decaff option . Easy underground parking . Good breakfast

A great budget hotel! I did not use their breakfast option as it was an extra fee (I believe it was 10 francs per day) but during my 10 day stay their staff was always hard at work and kept the place clean in spite of our haphazard sloppy in-and-outs. The booking guaranteed a Zone pass where busing and trains are free to use. Going past Luzern/Lucerne to Zürich from here is an expenaive endeavor however. The area around the hotel is under construction and appears to be an upcoming industrial area, and the sidewalks are non existent along parts if you follow the road. There are many restaurants nearby too. My favorite part was the mountain view of Pilatus from the window and the very friendly, incredibly helpful staff.

The property is 5-7 min walk , hidden behind the buildings. Construction is going on in surrounding areas. Hence noise kept coming. Not recommended families.

For couples or singles, should not be a problem.

The staff are so rude & unfriendly especially Svetlana. She could not speak English I had to use Google translator.
I explained my son had severe eczema & needed special treatment eg: fresh water, cleaning everyday etc.
She was so disinterested & refused to give milk for tea etc shocking.
The list goes on avoid like a plague & save your money 😡😡😡

Not sure what the name of the receptionist who worked the 24th and 25th May but he was awesome and did his upmost to make our stay better despite my Mother taking ill. He even went as far as to suggest that we tried the steak house next door for a Bouillon.

Staff are very nice. The front desk associates were helpful and assisted us with our needs (extra pillows, calling a cab, giving directions...etc). Even one of the ladies who works the kitchen during breakfast was very friendly! She went out of her way to show me where the nearest affordable restaurant is :)

Not much around this hotel that’s within walking distance to be honest but if you do need to stay around this area, I would recommend this hotel. Its close to transit that will bring you around Luzern.

Nice room though restroom not as updated as the rest but still good. Friendly service. Five minute walk to train and bus stations. Some restaurants nearby but not many. Area feels industrial with a number of car dealerships.

Great location right outside Luzern city, easy to get to by train. Llittle better price than city hotels! The room was quiet and comfortable. -bad location. 20 min to city center.
-Bad communication at reception after changing rooms.
-I had to move the extra bed from one room to another!!!!!!
- No Air condition in the room.
-you have to put a deposit of 20Fr for Iron and move it to your room by yourself.

A pleasant hotel!

We had comfortable rooms and enjoyed a great breakfast. We got lucky with a free parking spot. We appreciated that the front desk attendant provided us with free train passes to travel to the center of town - the train station is only 5 minutes away.
Our room was rather hot. There was little air movement from the windows and the fan was insufficient.
We were surprised that breakfast was not included. I am unsure whether that was our mistake when booking but the cost to add it was rather high.

This hotel was fine for a budget option. We had a family room which was nice and spacious.
Unfortunately there isnt any aircon in the room just a fan but there are shutters on the windows so if you stay in the summer I'd suggest keeping them shut to try and keep the room cooler.
This hotel is just outside the centre but the hotel offer you a travel card so you can use the trains for free to get in and out and the trains are every 15mins so you dont have to wait long for a train.

We chose Kriens as it was cheaper than staying in Lucerne and were very happy with our decision. We were travelling by train to Lucerne then caught a bus to the hotel on advice from the information centre. Lucerne offers free train and bus travel to visitors staying in local hotel for the duration of your stay, which was very handy with both within working distance from hotel. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The room was very spacious and clean with fantastic mountain views.
The hotel was in a very safe and quiet area. Would definitely stay again if lucky enough to go back to Switzerland.

Overall is great. it has at least 2 ibis's in Luzern, GPS took us to the wrong one, but the one we booked & stayed was not too far away & it has a garage next to it with Hotel's discount - which is really nice, McDonald is across the street. However, taking public-transportation to this one may be tough - but don't really know.

We only stayed for one night, but the person who was working the desk when we got there was extremely friendly and helpful… If you stay, go eat at the steak house down the street. It's not even a 5 minute walk for DELICIOUS food! The bed was pretty comfortable and the room was nice and clean.

The only thing I didn't care for was, the next day we went down to the mini restaurant in the hotel and ordered wraps, the guy who was preparing them was touching EVERYTHING including our food and did not once wash his hands. That bothered me, but other than that no complaints.

Very close to Kriens Matenhof staion..where from by S4 or S5 you can reach Luzern in 6 mins..Hotel breakfast was expensive and not included in the nightly room rate..but there was a MacD very close (by the rotary junction while going towards the station from the hotel) which served the purpose..free wifi with good speed..overall nice experience for a short stay of 2 nights!!

The thing I remember most about this hotel is that the staff is very friendly. They are smiling, ready to help out and provide practical information about getting around Lucerne.

The hotel itself is a typical clean Ibis hotel, big rooms and decorated contemporarily.

A really nice hotel, friendly staff and decent sized room. The only drawback is that it is about a ten minute train out of Lucerne itself, however the price is good. Just be prepared for a 5-10min walk from the station to the hotel.

Perfect (non-touristy) spot

We needed a place close to the motorway as we visited family and friends, it was a convenient spot. However, don't expect any touristy sites around the hotel, it's located in an industry zone. But for us just perfect, and very quiet (day and night). Beds were great, big size and comfortable. The breakfast buffet looked nice, we didn't make use of it though. We usually just asked for a coffee and a croissant to take upstairs to the room. Wifi was great, fast and stable connection.

The hotel staff was very friendly. The hotel nice, clean and inviting. Definitely an option for our next trip back home.

Even it's for a 2 nights stay, Alexander n Florian has been very accommodating and helpful. The lady at the Restaurant where we had our bfast was also very pleasant. The lady cleaning up our room did a great job as well. Thank You Ibis Kriens!!!

Travelling with pets, Ibis Hotels are generally good for short stays and we booked 4 different Ibis on this trip. Rooms are small and can be challenging. Surprised...Fee for dogs here was €20. per dog per night..... Ridiculous! Thankful dogs could spend the night in our vehicle.

It would have been better if they had their own parking however we, as parents, weren't very impressed with the other businesses around this area. There is a pole dancing school right nextdoor to checkin/reception, a big billboard for an adult website as you enter the premises, and it's in an industrial estate. But I think the worst thing was the public drag racing that happened EVERY night near the hotel from the locals that kept us awake until the early hours of the morning. Although the staff were very helpful and you do get 50% off parking fees (which is right next to the hotel) I know we would choose elsewhere if we went to Kriens again.

We stayed here for three nights in late september and had no problems, although it feels like it's designed more with businessmen in mind as it's pretty characterless. Nice enough though if you plan on being out all day like we did and the rates were good and it was clean and safe, so no complaints really. Excellent access to Lucern itself (less than 10 mins by train to the centre) so ideal if you're exploring the area and just need a place to crash in the evenings. Several english tv channels in the rooms too, which helped a little on quiet nights.

This Hotel is really modern and trendy. The rooms are clean and bright. The staff are very helpful. Our room was amazing - very large and comfy. The bathroom facilities were spotless. The only negative is that you are a train ride into Lucerne. We didn't mind at all as we were travelling across Switzerland anyway. The train is easy to get to and only takes 5 mins into town. There is a 5 minute walk to and from the hotel to the train stop at Kriens Matterhof.
