The hotel overall was good. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was nicely appointed. Many of the channels on the tv did not get a clear picture. The gueen bed was horrible. It need to be replaced years ago. Not supportive at all. We had a horrible nights sleep.

Roaches roaches roaches in two different rooms assigned on the third floor 312 and first floor 102. And not just one roach but several with one having babies on its back! Disgusted me so much I just left and stayed at the Hampton Inn which was much cleaner. Not booking anymore hotels that have kitchenette’s because they do not clean them enough to eliminate roaches. Waiting on a refund requested but they will more than likely keep my money!!! Shameful!!!

My room (115) was right near the front lobby and the elevator. I could everyone coming through late night, which caused me to wake up several times throughout each night. I recommend that before assigning this room, please ask if the guest is okay to be near the lobby and elevator as there is more foot traffic than other rooms. Otherwise, I enjoyed my stay. Thank you!

The staff was very nice and understanding but the rooms itself STUNK SO BAD . I MEAN THEY SMELLED REALLY BAD . The over all stay was okay . But I wouldn’t go back simply because the rooms stick and they were really dirty . There were stains ON THE CURTAINS . Like how . Stains on the floors , you do not want to bring a black light with you okay ?

We arrived around 7 p.m., nobody was at the desk. We waited for 3-4 minutes and somebody walked behind the counter holding a bunch of laundry (looked like wet bedsheets) that she carried out of view. She came back to the counter and gave a basic version of customer service that doesn't get a complaint, but lacked a certain warm welcome that you hope for when visiting a new hotel. Sometimes it's artificial or it's phoned in. This time is was a bland mix of \"I don't want to be here\" but \"I don't intend to get fired\". It was the lowest version of adequate, but still adequate.

The room smelled dank, like mold/mildew. Our noses adjusted and we would forget, until we went out and came back. It got worse every time, but we kept getting use to it. Probably should have switched rooms. The room itself, including linens, towels, kitchen, fridge, and bathroom, was pretty clean. There was somebody's smashed black sock or underwear we discovered under the corner chair when we were packing to leave. We left it there. The shower pressure was poor. Usable and disappointing. Pillow were made of a new kind of memory foam, the kind that are very puffy at first, but so flat when you lay your head down, all you have left are memories of what it's like to have had a pillow. The bed itself was super comfy, like sleeping on a dream.

The hallway reeked of pot on day 1, but gone by day 2.

We checked out earlier than originally planned. Checkout at 2 a.m. was A+ and that person was kind and sweet.

This Hotel was just Ok

When we checked in - the from desk clerk gave us the wrong room. He gave us keys to another guests room who was still staying there. Luckily, that guest was not in the room at the time or that would’ve been very awkward. This mistake though innocent and honest; really posed a huge security risk and question for us. The new room we did get was not the room we reserved. We had reserved a room with 2 double beds but the room we got was only 1 bed and a sofa bed. Which made it tight for our family of 4.

The side door of the building was always open which again was a security risk to guests staying there. It wasn’t secure at all which we did not like as we were traveling with 2 small children.

The only positive of this hotel was that it was in close proximity to stores, food and the interstate.

Candlewood suites is in a good location with Restauraunts nearby. The room was nice and updated. We would definitely rebook at Candlewood suites. We were looking for the ice machine but realized there was an ice maker in the fridge. Parking was easy and well lit.

When entering lobby in the evenings, I would be warmly greeted by Zipphora. She is an absolute delight and a “can do”person. Zipphora made a difficult time for me refreshing. Thank you.

I love this hotel. It is convenient to restaurants, stores and major routes. I spent 7 nights there and not one disappointing moment.

Excellent in every way

After the situation that I had just come from, this was a slice of heaven, and a very need for positive experience. I can’t find one thing to complain about. My room was absolutely clean.

The front desk were friendly people, welcoming, smiling. I loved my little kitchen, and the bed was extremely comfortable.

I highly recommend anyone to stay there. It’s wonderful and I’m gonna go back again.

booked 5 months in advance & when i got there my room was not available , they tried to make me pay for a second room. bath tub had an orange sized hole in the side sink was cracked . Smoke detector had toilet paper wadded around it .outside patio wall almost fell over when i leaned on it & it is no longer like the the picture . Back door had shattered glass . I was afraid to use any of the dishes without washing it first , the entire place is poorly maintained & should be shut down for safety violations .
I got lucky & found another place for the rest of the week that was great . Very deceptive pictures for this listing . More like a low rate budget motel . The rooms have a gross smell . The shower head was even rusty .

On first entry, the room appeared clean but we were disappointed to find raw meat left in fridge, moldy coffee filter in coffee pot, no extra coffee, 1/2 roll of TP with no extra, no trash can in bathroom, shower curtain spewed with something red- brown?? While the staff were apologetic, they didn’t seemed overly concerned.

Amazing!! Ladies at front desk were so kind and accommodating. We ended up with the last room which was supposed to have a pull out couch in the living-room for our friends and did not. Definitely be aware and check with the hotel on this before booking. The general manager, Brandy, was so kind and helpful with working with me and hotels.com to resolve this. Even let me take some extra dove body bars home with me! Room was very clean and the bed was surprisingly very comfortable unlike the normal rough sheets they were actually really snug with a very fluffy comforter. Hotels.com lists the check out @noon, the time is actually 11am and the front desk lady was very kind in letting us know and extending our check out with no penalty! Besides the missing pull out couch and no remote for the tv’s, our stay was wonderful!

I was charged twice for the same stay I booked through Expedia and someone from the hotel called me the next day to check me in and I was assured that when I checked out I would be refunded the extra charge but I have not been refunded I paid 436 for my stay and I got charged an additional 429 for the same stay and all of my banking records indicate that I was charge twice for the same stay and I was assured by the general manager that I would be refunded when I checked out so I will give it a few more days and see if what I was told is the case but so far I’ve been charge double for the same stay. I still have my banking records that indicate that I have indeed been charge twice for the same stay at candlewood suites Yorktown if you need to see proof I will gladly provide it for you. An employee of the hotel asked me if my situation was resolved and I told her it was and then the next day I was charged the additional 429.04 that was supposed to be refunded to me because I had already paid 436 through Expedia for the same stay

Called in stinky hallway from trash sitting so long. There was a trash can on every floor and sinxe customers stay longer periods they put theit trahs in the bins. It would be nixe if stadf cleaned those out before rhe stairwells got stinky. I was there two weeks and it was quire bad the whole time.

The drawers in my rom wouldnt stay shut, lots od mainrwnanxe issues. Prevuous guesta put tape on the drawer to keep closed. Lots of residue. Loved that there is free launsry but one working washer makes it hard ro get your clothes clean.

Awesome checkin staff—only pet available room was #111 which is across the hall from Reception. He warned me it can be noisy but it’s also right near the front door for dog potty breaks. I could hear the Lobby TV but was so tired it didn’t matter. Nice spacious room and super comfy bed. Clean bathroom with great shower water pressure. Loved having a full size fridge with big freezer. Good, safe location too.

Good for value, easy access to everything in the area. The bathroom fixtures need updating or repair. Low water pressure in the bathroom, loose fixtures, vent fan was very loud and the kitchenette was showing some rust and general disrepair.

Just general things you see in a hotel before they make some capital improvements, so really not a deal breaker. The area is really nice and seems secure.

When we checked into our room it had a horrible smell. We looked in the a/c unit and it was covered in black and white mold. We went to the front desk and we were given a new room. The second room just got done being cleaned so it smelled fresh. As the day went on we could smell a funky smell. The following day the smell was so strong, It smelled like wet dog. We even went and bought room freshener. Upon spraying the floor we noticed it was covered in dog hair. It was so gross. Not to mention an altercation in the lobby at late hours of the night. Needless to say we checked out early.

Could have been a lot better for the price

It was an okay stay, but When we first arrived, the customer service rep seemed liked she was not happy with her job. She greeted us, but her energy was off. Then when we went to the room, it smelled old and minty like. The smell was something I have never experienced staying in many hotels. They switched my room, but this room smelled much of the same. I just wound up going to Walmart and purchasing cleaning supplies (Bleach, Lysol and Febreeze). We even had to wipe down the walls because they had spots on them and pink stuff under the pull out bed and satins on the carpet under the coffee table in the living room. The dishes in the dishwasher had to be washed so that we could use them, but according to the Customer Rep, the dishes didn’t need to be cleaned or put away…smh. We actually left a day earlier than we were supposed to. I would never stay here again

When I checked in Nick gave me a room key 307 and it was occupied by someone else. I was able to use the give that was given to me to open the room, which was very scary there could of been a casualty, meaning if the other person was in the room Me or by Daughter could have been shot or beat up. When I explained this to Nick he didn’t apologize or nothing just gave me another key. I was so scared I didn’t even stay in the room that night. I understand mistakes happen but that’s one I can’t live with nor his being unbothered.

First, check in was a nightmare. Partially bc only 1 person was at the desk and she was on the phone the entire time. Had myself and 3 other parties waiting for over 25 min. 1 guy just wanted his room key reactivated. I let him go ahead of me. Bachelorette party going on across the hall. Very loud and obsene. Spilled out into the hall at 2am. I called downstairs but no answer. I called several times over the next hour. Still no answer. I checked peephope and im almost certain 1 partier was the same girl from front desk. The room was sprayed with some kind of cleaning product but not wiped. You could see the greasy mist on the counters, table and even the floor. Wore sandals around my room. Bed was nice. Thats literally it.

Says there is limited housekeeping if you stay less than 7 days. But it is non-existant. You have to go to the desk to get towels, toilet paper, trash bags or anything. You had to almost beg for supplies, vacuum your own room, change and dispose of trash and deal with the nasty and unprofessional staff. They were constantly blocking the common areas to the point of guests not being able to pass and having to move things in order to. We stayed 6 nights and there was a stack of supplies hindering the 1st floor hallway and it was still there at check-out. Room had been updated and had nice fixtures. But for the price i will stay elsewhere for better service from now on.

We were a little disappointed In our stay. Our room smelled like cigarettes even though it was supposed to be a non smoking room. Also, the air conditioner did not put out much cool air during the stay and it was 84 degrees outside. Finally, the hallway and elevator were hot, stuffy and had a lingering smell of marijuana.

We had ants in our room. Something sticky was left on the floor in addition to what looked like dog food. We killed about 12 ants total. They just kept coming out!!! My husband went to the front desk, they gave us bug spray and told us someone would come at 11am to clean...noone showed up. I guess we were supposed to put a sign on the door for cleaning but we weren't told that. We assumed because of the nature of the situation someone would just come. That didn't happen...Several updates are also needed. Light fixtures are rusted, water stains in the bathroom, chairs are worn. All the hotels in the area were booked otherwise we would've canceled our reservation and switched hotels. Oh by the way, no discounts or anything were offered for our inconvenience. I expected more for the price. The front desk staff was nice and apologetic but not accommodating. Very bad experience! I will never stay at a Candlewood Suites again!

COVID is making hotel stays a little different. The hotel staff was isolated somewhere other than the desk (pick up house phone for them). The room was clean and comfortable, but cleaning is only once a week. Needed some repairs (doors stops falling off & bent, shower was dripping, & microwave was noisy). Taking the COVID thing into consideration, it was not a bad experience.

The rooms in general were nice. It was suite style so the room offered a stove , microwave , full size refrigerator and freezer with a spacious bathroom and desk area. However , when I first arrived the front desk associate was in the back and took a while to greet me and there was a left over opened beer bottle in the refrigerator. I called the front desk to let the woman know and she seemed unapologetic and unbothered which naturally bothered me as cleanliness is extremely important during a pandemic. However the housekeeping staff did stop by the next morning to clean the fridge out so that helped

I like that there are free washers and dryers. The facility has a beautiful view out back and is close to a lot of activities and restaurants. The other guests and most of the staff are really nice.

When we arrived our room had been given to somebody else but they corrected it the next day. None of the outside card readers work so you can only come in the front and after 11pm you have to knock on the door because they have no phone installed.

It was comfortable at a fair price. The location was very convenient because the other members of my party were next door at another hotel.
The staff was helpful and pleasant. The room was large and thoughtfully outfitted.
