The front desk staff was very nice and helpful. The first night, we had an issue with a drunk guy upstairs and the very next day, they took care of it. This place is a simple but safe hotel, safe area, walking distance to major stations for public transportation (porte d'orléans). Nice and cheap restaurant around. The hotel is clean and they offer breakfast for 10 Euros which I strongly suggest you take. You will get coffee, unlimited croissant, and many other things. A simple breakfast in a local café will cost you more or less the same. For me, the important thing for a hotel is clean and safe and this hotel met my standard. A little warning: there is NO elevator and the stairs to get upstairs are very steep and narrow. In other words, if you have the slightest physical impairment, this hotel might not be for you. Also, I am not sure how you would get big suitcase up there. I would definitely contact the owner to request a room at the lowest level possible.

I was looking for a reasonably priced hotel in a great location. This hotel was the perfect choice! A 5 minute walk to Port d’Orleans subway and walking distance to several cafes and bakeries. The staff was excellent - very welcoming and they were happy to store our luggage before and after our stay. The room and bathroom were small - typical of other Paris hotels. It was basic but very clean.
If you have mobility issues or lots of heavy luggage, be aware that there is no elevator and the stairs are very tight and winding. We mentioned it to the staff and they said next time to call in advance and they will give us a room on a lower floor (we were on the 4th floor this time). If you’re on a budget, don’t need many amenities, and looking for a good home base for your Paris travels, this is it!

Nice little hôtel, really friendly and competent staff, close to the metro, so close to everything pretty much. No air conditionning, so it was a bummer, but other than that, pretty nice room. Clean bathroom in your room directly too, so it’s nice. They even let me sleep past the checkout time without waking me up and didn’t charge me anything.

Positive aspects:
Small but clean room. Shower was strong and warm. Location close to the metro station.
Negative aspects:
Wifi signal is very weak. Practically the same as no Wifi. When I checked out,
the registration system at the front desk was down or something and
the hotel couldn't issue the invoice. The front desk asked me to send an email to request the invoice later. I did send emails multiple times, but my emails were all neglected...

No-Frills Convenience

When in Paris, one (and indeed I was a solo traveler) is not looking to spend a lot of time in his hotel room. The Hotel Montsouris Orléans was a perfect place to rest my head at night. The room was tiny, but decently appointed (except for a stain on the bedspread cover I would have expected them to have washed out). The front desk was serviceable, if uninterested. When I needed to deal with them, they were perfectly nice, in French and English. My only real complaint is that I didn't received housekeeping services the day before my final night's stay. Potential clients should also be aware that the staircase to the upper floors is VERY steep and narrow, and there is no elevator. As young and able-bodied as I am, I had difficulty navigating upstairs with my suitcase. Also, the wifi is extraordinarily weak on the third (\"second\") floor, and I must imagine non-existent on the fourth. The alley behind the hotel got a little noisy and smoky at night. Since there is no air conditioning, keep this in mind if you plan on staying during the summer. It's a 5-minute walk to the Porte-Orléans metro, and about a 12-minute walk to the RER-B train to de Gaulle.

This is a basic small hotel. The single room was quite small. The bathroom was clean and some toiletries were provided. The view at the back of the hotel left a tot to be desired. Breakfast was typically continental but satisfactory. Would I stay her again not sure.

Overall I had a good one night stay, the room was nicely decorated and clean, the queen size bed was comfortable, the bathroom is a bit small though. Two remarks: there is no A/C nor elevator. The staff is very friendly, they allowed me to keep my bag after checking out so that I could enjoy Paris on my last day without carrying it.

Cramped hotel, hard bed

This hotel met the minimum of my requirements, but nothing delighted me. It didn't feel particularly clean or inviting. The mattress was VERY firm and my husband has a bad back and then was sick all night- he feels like the hard bed exacerbated his issues. We ended up folding up a spare blanket in the room to try and add padding underneath him. The shower drain was slow and the shallow shower almost overflowed until I turned off the water. The spiral staircase up to the rooms is TIGHT and steep. The staff was nice enough. They didn't speak much English but luckily my husband speaks French. Still, there were some misunderstandings. The area is pretty quiet, so that's good if that's what you're looking for. It wasn't too long of a walk to find some restaurants and such.

Great deal: comfortable and modern

The hotel room was very comfortable and modern and a great deal. Clearly it has been renovated recently. The staff were very helpful with tips for the area, organizing transport to the airport, and allowed us to store our bikes and trailer in the courtyard. Our original room faced the courtyard, where people smoke, but luckily we were able to switch to a street-facing room, which was bright and quiet. The location is very convenient, with a supermarket, excellent boulangerie, metro and many restaurants just two blocks away.

Quiet, hospitable hotel

The staff was friendly and helpful, and I liked my little room. This would not be a good hotel for anyone infirm, since the staircase is narrow and steep (no elevator). The air conditioning was not really effective, but even though I was there during a heat wave, the nights were cool enough for me to sleep well. The location on a quiet street was perfect for me.

I chose this hotel because it is close to Cité Universitaire where my daughter lives. The hotel is decorated in a Moroccan style, the room was spacious compared to other hotels in the neighborhood. Close to the metro and the RER stations, to a parc and to small shopping center, cafes and restaurants.

as a tourist, the stay is OK since you only back to room for shower and sleep.The people is nice.
Only thing I don't like was it said king size bed when I booked, but actually it was a double size. the explanation was in Paris, King size = Queen size = double size. I went to the department store to verify, the equation is not true:). Please to be straight forward on Ads.

I stayed here for my last night in Paris. It was a nice room with wifi access. The bathroom was a bit small, but thats normal for hotels in Paris. Everything was very clean and overall I as quite satisfied with the room. In addition the people working here are very kind and they went out of their way to help me out. I would definetly recommend staying here!

Budget hotel. No escalator, so be prepared to carry your suitcases up very narrow stairs. No aircon or fans in the room. Staff were friendly and allowed us to check in 3 hours early. Good location, metro station just around the corner. Wifi didn't work in our room.

The 2 bedroom room was very tiny, both twin beds were pushed up together, but they were both comfortable. Really all we needed was a place to sleep and a bathroom, and this place was great. The bathroom, while tiny, had a very nice shower. If you intend on doing a lot in Paris and only really sleeping in your room, this place is great. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the hotel itself was in a quiet area. The only complaint was that the staircase was spiral and so extremely steep! Can't help that, but it was a pain to walk up to our rooms on the 4th floor with how steep the stairs were. The hotel is right near a metro station that takes you in to most of the major tourist locations, and it is super easy to switch to another line to get where you need to go. Also, this place was near a small corner store that sold kebabs, burgers and pizza extremely late into the night, which is nice considering most other places closed fairly early. Down the street was a small bakery where you can buy a cheap breakfast. Overall, I enjoyed it and would stay there again. The price was great, too.

A well located hotel with a friendly manager/owner

Although this is a basic hotel in terms of facilities, this is to be expected from a 1 star rating and this is reflected in a competitive room rate. The hotel is well situated for access into the centre of Paris. The rooms, although on the small side (I believe this is not uncommon in Paris), are perfectly adequate, clean and quiet. The bathroom in our room was again small, but was modern and had a good shower. We enjoyed our experience at this hotel and would certainly use it again.

A decent hotel to use as a base for seeing the sig

The hotel was absolutely fine: nothing too out of the ordinary, but very clean, quiet and located very close to the Porte d'Orléans Metro station. There are two well stocked convenience stores / supermarkets within less than 2 minutes walk, as well as several good bars and restaurants. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful, and the area seems safe and clean. The close proximity to Parc Montsouris is a definite bonus: it's a nice place in which to stroll and get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. I would describe the breakfast as adequate, though nothing special, and the lack of a lift (or elevator, if you prefer) is unfortunate if you happen to be staying on the upper floors: the staircase is very step and very narrow, meaning that lugging one's luggage up several flights is a bit of a pain. All in all, I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relatively low-cost and convenient place to stay in the gorgeous city of Paris.

I stayed in this hotel for 4 nights. It is in a quite neighborhood and about 3 blocks from the metro and the tram. Definitely a good option with good connectivity. The rooms are standard size for a Paris hotel, mattress was comfortable. The room was clean. The bathroom is OK, clean and with a good shower. I booked the hotel 4 weeks before my trip at fairly good rate. It is preferable to get a room on the lower floor as there is no elevator. The receptionist was very friendly and kind.

Decent budget room near Porte d'Orleans

Single room was tiny, but newly re-done and very clean. No elevator, so beware that you have to carry bags up spiral stairs. A few blocks from the Porte d'Orleans Metro station on the #4 line. Not close to any sights, but a short metro hop will get you to them. Good value for the price, decent neighborhood.

Chambre qui n’a rien à voir avec les photos. Concernant la propreté, il y avait des taches sur la moquette, et il y avait des cheveux sous la couverture violettes. Et une odeur bizarre dans la chambre, j’étais mal à l’aise, je n’y retournerai pas et ne recommande pas .

Nous avons réservés une chambre dans cet hôtel car nous avons eu un changement de dernière minute. Le quartier n'est pas très enchantant mais l'hôtel a le mérite d'être proche du métro et de certains bus.

À notre arrivée, nous devions régler la taxe de séjour (4€ pour 2 nuits pour 2 personnes), la personne nous demandait 5€ pour un paiement en CB soit 25% de plus, et on sentait que la personne sortait ce chiffre de nul part juste pour nous dissuader d'utiliser la CB, vraiment pas professionnel.

Chambre au 5ème étage sans ascenseur et via des escaliers plus que désagréables. Rien à redire sur la chambre, le confort est correct et c'est plutôt propre.

Le personnel avait l ait plutôt gentil pour le peu que j ai échangé.

Heureusement j’ai du y passer qu’une seule nuit. Personnel qui répond à peine quand vous leur dites bonjour. Chambre degueulasse !!! Poussière, cheveux sur la literie, poils dans la salle de bain ... et niveau intimité autant dire qu’il n’y en a pas. Les murs sont en papier et on entend tous ce qu’il se passe dans les chambres attenantes .... à la limite de l’hôtel de paSse !!!

Bon hôtel, propre et bien situé. A proximité du tram T3 a. Seul problème, il n ' y a pas d’ascenseur et l'escalier est étroit. Pour toutes les personnes ayant des bagages importants, si vous êtes situé comme moi au 4 ème étage, préparez-vous à galérer.

Pour dépanner un nuit ...

Mon hotel habituel etant complet, j'ai cherché un hotel à proximité de mon lieu de réunion du lendemain
Le site présentait des photos sobres mais correctes ... mais la chambre était vraiment petite, limite cellule de prêtre ...
Néanmoins les draps étaient propres, la douche et le toilette propres aussi et le réceptionniste agréable. Petit déjeuner correct.

great price/performance!

easy transportation to centrum by metro line 4 (about 5 mins walking to station). silent and safe neighborhood. Wi-Fi available most of the times. Also near to a RER-B station. Small room but it is ok for 1-2 people. Interesting color choice for bedclothes and they can be cleaner I guess. Very clean but small toilet. Walls are too thin so you can hear anything goes on nearby rooms.

Accueil sympa par contre la salle de bains n'était pas propre ni la couette et le linge de lit.
Il n'y a pas d'ascenseur et si vous avez une grosse valise c'est une galère pour monter au 4ème étage ; les escaliers sont étroits.

Je suis venue dans votre hotel

Bien en 1 weekend du vendredi au samedi soir on entendais la voisine s'envoyer en l'air tous les soir de 23 h à 3 h du matin à se demander combien homme venais la voire bref super déçu à croire que les service proposé par cette hôtel les femme en font parti pour ma part la chambre et très froide niveaux chauffage et parlons pas de la salle de bain bref je n'y remettrais plus les pieds ..bonne chance à ceux qu'y veulent tenté leurs chances

5ème étage sans ascenseur, insonorisation inexistante, absence d’entretien, nettoyage succinct, lavabo correspondant à un lave-mains.... Autant de critères rédhibitoires pour moi.

Hotel basique. . Hormis le fait que la chambre etait imbibée de l’odeur de cigarette, c’est plutot propre et le personel est sympa! Bon rapport qualité prix.

Hotel económico pero bastante cómodo

Tuvimos un problema al reservar en otro lado, y terminamos por buscar un lugar de último minuto, ahí fue cuando dimos con este hotel. Tuvimos bastantes dudas pero la verdad es que todo terminó bien. Las habitaciones son pequeñas pero muy limpias y cómodas. Además se encuentra cerca del aeropuerto de Orly por lo que nos resultó bastante conveniente.
