Charming small hotel just steps from the Accademia bridge and vaporetto stop. There was a problem with our room AC when we arrived, and they immediately fixed it. Lovely views of the courtyard in back, and the street in front is quiet. Excellent breakfast (but beware of mosquitoes if eating outside). Very comfortable rooms, and staff was friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.

Our week-long stay at Agli Alboretti was wonderful. The area is quiet, away from the overwhelming crowds, and felt very safe at night. It is only a couple of minutes from a vaporetto stop so you are not going to drag your luggage too far or up and down stairs. There are also a few nice restaurants about 5 mins away. We loved that there is a little convenience store nearby so that you can buy extra bottle water, snacks, fruit, even things you may have forgotten like chargers, etc.

The staff are very polite and friendly. Our room was clean and comfortable, not too small, and serviced daily. The bathroom looks newly renovated with a great shower and a towel warmer. I appreciated that we had an electric kettle to heat water and a refrigerator, as well as TV. The breakfast buffet was pretty basic, not a lot of variety, but we didn't mind because it was included in the room price - saved some money to buy more gelato later!

It is close to the Guggenheim museum and some limited shopping but you will have to walk about 15 minutes to get to some of the more popular areas.

Highly recommend - this was my first trip to Venice and I would absolutely stay here again.

This is an old style hotel, with limited facilities. The breakfast room was sweet and the staff member who brought us coffees was efficient and friendly. Breakfast was very limited though. The clearly recently renovated shower room was modern and good quality.
The bedroom itself was described as a ‘junior suite’ with ‘terrace with view of the garden’. The room was actually a small double room with a single room adjacent containing a hard bed/ not sofa. There was also a table and two chairs. The ‘terrace’ was a small balcony with a view of the restaurant’s outside seating area. The single room had a proper curtain but our double room only had a see-through tuille curtain. So at night people in the restaurant could look up and see us getting ready for bed, and in the night every time the restaurant security light came on it shone into the bedroom. Very weird! The decorations were chintzy/flowery and old fashioned, with dark wood furniture. The lift only takes one person at a time (I need a lift) so my partner had to walk up or down the stairs. The reception area is tiny and the receptionist not overly helpful or friendly. A male cleaner helped me with my bag, which I appreciated.
This is a two star hotel, with old furnishings which are ‘characterful’ but not particularly comfortable. We paid A LOT for the room on the basis it was a junior suite, I.e. a bit more spacious and luxurious even. It wasn’t. Would not stay again

The hotel is in a great location and is charming. The restaurant was very nice and breakfast each morning was good. Being an older building, I was expecting uneven floors and older plumbing- which it was and didn’t bother me. Unfortunately it also applied to the furnishings so the armoire was very loud to open and close and the bed was not very comfortable. It was an average experience.

Beautiful location oasis

What a wonderful little local hotel. The location is amazing for Venice. Just a 3 min walk from Accademia water bus stop. At the end of the block is the dock for day trips to Murano as well. Venice is surrounded by smaller canals so unless you take a water taxi for $50 from the airport, you’re gonna have to drag your suitcase up and down bridges or get a luggage delivery service. That’s why this hotel is at a great location. It can be a bit noisy around opening or closing time for the museum nearby when people walk from the water bus station to the museum but other than that, it’s pretty quiet. The beautiful chirping of the birds make you feel like you’re in an oasis too. The trees planted in this neighborhood draws them in. As for the room, I was upgraded to a suite with a separate sliding door, 1.5 bathrooms (2 toilets but 1 shower), individual air conditioning units, and a day bed in the living room. The bathrooms looked newly renovated as well. I think the room was not suitable for the majority elderly people staying there due to the flickering pot light in the bathroom. We unscrewed it but house keeping put it back in and it still flickered so it must have been an electrical issue rather than a burnt bulb. Overall though, I would stay here again!

A lovely place to stay

A great place to stay. Just away from the very busiest parts of the city, but within 2-3 minutes walk of two water bus stops (including one on the Grand Canal) and within easy walking distance of much of the city anyway. Very friendly staff, good breakfast. We had a slightly larger than standard room which was lovely - spotlessly clean, very nice bathroom / shower, comfy bed. English spoken which were grateful for because our Italian is very poor. Everything we needed for a 5-day treat for ourselves. Couldn't recommend enough.

Tip: if coming from Marco Polo airport and you've got time, the Alilaguna blue line boat takes you to Zattere, the stop at the end of the street. It's 90 minutes but that's because it winds most of the way round Venice so you get a great overview of everything. And only 30 euros return.

A Hotel We Recommend Highly!

We love this hotel! Staff are terrific, friendly and helpful. We had one of the larger rooms, with a bedroom, sitting area and TWO bathrooms. These were modern, well designed and always extremely clean, as was the bedding, etc. Everything was set up efficiently. Breakfast was of good variety and quality.
The location was perfect for us: practically next door to the Accademia museum and vaporetto stop. It’s also close to the Giudecca, where you can get a Vaporetto to the train station that’s much less crowded than those on the Canale Grande.
We chose to stay in Dorsoduro in order to avoid the crowds of many other areas. There are plenty of great restaurants, in fact the restaurant of Agli Alboretti is highly rated. We look forward to returning to this hotel!

The staff at Reception, the cleaning staff and the service staff at breakfast were all lovely. When checking in, i was spoken to in Italian as I'd chosen to speak the language. Some places may revert to English when it's not your mother language but they respected my choice.
The hotel is so very near the vaporetto stop at Accademia, which makes it really convenient if finding it on foot is too challenging.

The staff at the hotel are first class and they offer a wide variety of fruits, cereal and cold cuts for breakfast.. Stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed the location and the vibe of this hotel. The rooms are spacious. Breakfast in the garden was special touch. Breakfast buffet was delicious and generous. The service was overall very good except for the night staff who prepared the breakfast buffet. We were leaving for an early flight and needed a breakfast box to go. It was very disappointing for the price we paid (12 Euros each) for cake and muffins wrapped in paper towels, no fruit, no packaged yogurt or cheese or any cold drinks. When I asked the male staff member for a cold drink before we left the hotel, he was annoyed... stating he was getting breakfast ready (it was 0600 a.m.). I got a glass of water from him. I would stay here again but I would book a room facing the back rather than streetfront because the restaurant traffic will keep you up till at least midnight.

Amazing Hotel, Beautifully Remodeled

This is a fantastic old palazzo that's been beautifully transformed into a modern hotel. The rooms are well appointed, and the a/c works great. Location is where all the schools are so it can be a tad noisy outside after school gets out with all the students at time, quiet other than that though, and it is a walk to all the tourist areas. But we liked walking, approx 10 min's to St Marks and 15 min's to Rialto. There are some very good restaurants nearby as well as interesting shops. And as it is right on the canal it's very easy for a taxi either from the airport or train station. The staff is wonderful, and the breakfast is great. One thing, they don't have a good supply of US-plus/power converters to be sure to bring your own. All in all, great place and we'd definitely go back.

Excellent.

Had a lovely stay here and the turn down service when you come in at night was such a lovely touch. Hotel is close to water bus transport and very accessible for all areas. It’s clean, comfortable, beautifully traditional and would highly recommend.

Agli Alboretti - a greta 6 day stay

The welcome and subsequent service from the Agli team was excellent. What a difference from a large impersonal hotel !
Continental breakfasts were good and the coffee superb.
The location was god being less than 5 minutes from Acedemy bridge and an interesting 15 minute walk to St Marks square

A nice little place to stay

This hotel was in a great location. Only a couple of hundred yards from two boat docks with regular boat travel available every couple of minutes. The room was adequate. The bathroom was very small and since I’m over six feet tall, maneuvering in the shower was a bit difficult. The staff were very helpful and the restaurant was wonderful. Having breakfast included was very nice and made it easier on the budget. If you’re not into fancy and enjoy a nice clean and friendly place to stay then hotel Agli Alboretti is the place to stay.

We have just returned from a 4 night stay at this absolutely gorgeous hotel!!! It’s not very often I write a review, but felt that it was the least I could do for such a wonderful stay. We stayed in the junior suite, and would highly recommend this room. We particularly enjoyed our coffees on the balcony as the sun rose in the morning. The hotel and room, the overall cleanliness, professionalism of all the staff was of a very high standard. We also recommend the hotel restraunt, not only for breakfast but for evening meal. One of the best meals we had whilst I’m Venice. And location was amazing, easy transfer from airport ferry, close to all main sights of Venice. Thankyou to all the staff at hotel Agli Alboretti that made our stay one of our best holidays to date :)

Cute little hotel

Bedroom is small with too much furniture. Bed was narrow (a twin) but comfortable. Bathroom was a good size but bottom of shower curtain was stained, soaking in bleach would help. Best feature was it's proximity to water taxis and tourist sites.

Great location and so sweet to dogs

This is the most wonderful little hotel in a walkable location between Piazza San Marco and the ferry terminal. It's close to restaurants and shopping, but just far enough away from the main tourist traffic to make your stay relaxing and enjoyable. They are wonderfully welcoming to dogs, and you have to see their custom dog fountain near the front door. I am already planning to return to Agli Alboretti to spend more time exploring Venice.

Lovely Stay at this Quaint Hotel

We absolutely loved this quaint boutique hotel and the front desk people were exceptionally friendly. Breakfast (included) was great. Location is excellent --- 1 stop past San Marco square. Easy access off the water bus, walk straight down the ramp and continue walking straight for 5 minutes and the hotel is on your right. No stairs to climb, smooth pavement. Hotel also has an elevator.
Right next door is a take-out pasta place, so we grabbed some one night then went up to the 4th floor terrace, which has tables & chairs and had dinner up there.

Lovely little hotel in the Dorsoduro.

Agli Alberetti is a small and charming hotel in the Dorsoduro, just a few steps from the Gallerie dell'Accademia museum and the Zattere, where you find many little bars and restaurants on the Giudecca Canal. The reception desk was helpful and friendly. We had the large suite on the second floor which has been handicap-equipped. We did not need those particular features but it made for a very spacious living room, bedroom and bathroom. Perfect location for a stay in Venice!

A rip off. It doesn't deserve a 4.3 rating.

The location is good, right near the Accademia bridge and vaporotta stop. Unfortunately, the customer service and room were terrible. I asked the woman at the front desk to call for a reservation, and she told me the restaurant closed last month. No alternates suggestions given. Then, the internet stopped working for an extended time. I went downstairs to ask her to fix it and she said her's was working so mine should be as well. After I told her it stopped working, she admitted that her's had stopped also. She said just wait until it comes back on. Then, the room was so bad, terrible uncomfortable mattress, smallest bathroom ever and unisual steps up from the hall to the room door, then steps back down into the room. Dangerous and took up room that they were probably counting in the area size of the room. The room didn't have any curtains to block the light, except some sheer white thin ones, so the lights were shining into the room until some time around midnight. Also, there is substantial noise from the surrounding area. In all, we decided not to stay the second night as we didn't get much sleep between the mattess and the lights and noise, so I informed the woman at the front desk of our intent to check out before noon, as I knew they were fully booked. She immediately said I still had to pay for the room, which I had not even asked for a refund. I told her as a courtesy so if she did have someone inquire about a room, she could rent it. Her attitiude was terrible.

Charming boutique hotel in a great Venice location

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Agli Alboretti. The staff is very helpful, friendly and patient, the hotel is charming and nicely renovated, and the location near the Accademia Bridge and Museum in Venice is unbeatable. The room was clean and comfortable -- small in the style of European hotels but very nice and well kept. We highly recommend this lovely hotel for stays in Venice!

Small hotel,small room with no real views but this is the heart of Venice so although not cheap it is value for money. It was clean and comfortable and quiet and the staff very pleasant. Reasonable continental breakfast included in the price. Didn't use the restaurant so cannot comment but it is run by different management,so I was told by a waiter who was happy to serve us a nightcap in the small adjacent residents' lounge. It is a great location near the Accademia Bridge and the Dorsudoro area is good for a few traditional bars and restaurants and although busy is nowhere near as crowded as St.Marks/Rialto and abutting streets and squares. You can get a drink and something to eat sat overlooking the large Guiddecca canal without it costing an arm or leg. Took the vaporetto from the airport to the Zettere landing and the hotel is only 50 yards away so really easy to get to.Would be very happy to return to this hotel.

Nice hotel - close but not too close

Nice small hotel located on the south side of the grand canal next to the Academia museum. We took a water taxi from the airport which was able to drop us off maybe a 100 yards from the hotel. The Durodosia area is close enough to be able to easily reach all of the usual tourist spots in 10-15 minutes, but is out of the mainstream. Area was quiet at night with a number of good restaurants used by both the locals and tourists. Hotel was small, but nice and neat. We had a small suite, which had plenty of room, and quite a nice bed. Room actually had two bathrooms which was nice in the mornings. Elevator was incredibly small and slow, so we normally just used the stairs. Even though small, they served a very good breakfast which made for a nice start to the day.

Convenient location

I wanted a hotel on the island of Dosoduro because it is quiet and very convenient to everything. The hotel is easily reached by two vaporetto stops. A short walk over the Accademia bridge takes you to the more touristy locations. I had a single room, which was quite small, but typical for Europe. The bathroom had been updated and the breakfast was continental with lots of extras, which I liked very much.

Friendly staff, easy check-in, clean and very easy to get to from the airport water shuttle (Zattere stop on the Giudecca canal. No up or down steps to reach the hotel).
Room was small but not unexpected - Venice style! All the conveniences.
Great location to walk just about everywhere. Steps away from the Accademia Museum and Accademia Grand Canal Bridge.
