I literally happened upon this property in a beautiful coastal suburb, Malahide, right outside of Dublin. I had never heard of Malahide, but a lovely Irish woman suggested I stay at the Grand Hotel for my last night in Dublin. It was a fantastic tip. The hotel gave me the peacefulness and calm I needed before my flight home to Los Angeles. The village it is in is just beautiful with tons of restaurants and the famous Gibney's bar. I'd come back again anytime. Also, my hotel room was recently renovated and it made a world of difference.

Our room overlooked the main entrance .
At 0100 am children were outside playing football , directly beneath our room ! I spoke to the manager who eventually spoke to the kids . However they still
continued . Around 130-continuing until 0300 am various groups who seemed to be drunk were extremely noisy again outside the lobby waiting for taxis. I spoke to Kevin the manger the following morning who was very dismissive and said they were unable to control this!! I pointed out it happened on hotel property and they ought to be able to control the situation. Apparently there was a function hence the rowdiness. Extremly disappointed in Kevin’s handling of my our complaint and we shall Not staying again . ( second stay at the. Grand and be aware lots of functions on Saturday evenings ‘

Malahide has been our go to for many years. The cricket ground has been a very special place for us as a family with great memories.
We have stayed in lots of places around Malahide, this time we decided to stay in the Grand, 9/10 from checking in on line, self check in when we arrived, no need to go to reception, fantastic idea.
Rooms amazing, the only thing, we couldn’t work the coffee machine, it just kept putting water in the cup! Yes we used the coffee pods.
We did ask the cleaner to help, obviously he couldn’t help either. So no morning coffee was had. This was disappointing.
To add to that it would have been nice to have herbal tea, and normal coffee, with sweetener's, knowing the machine didn’t work.
We didn’t eat an evening meal in the hotel but the food looked delicious.
Staff around the Hotel and sports centre friendly and welcoming.

What a beautiful place for an anniversary. The room was spacious and clean. Great water pressure in the shower. Pillows were good and soft. Went to the spa to use the pool and hot tub, unfortunately the tub wasn't working properly. No big deal was a goot time. The food was excellent, I highly recommend the hot wings at the bar. Not too hot but wow what a flavour. Good and close to most places. Top was the Mucross castle and gardens.

Breakfast had good choice and was fresh.
Could perhaps have a think about more than one coffee machine that makes cappuccino, latte etc for the amount of people at Breakfast as queues can build quickly.
Staff at breakfast very friendly and attentive clearing plates.
Hotel itself is beautifully decorated and finished. Nice to see a free carpark also!

The hotel was fine but a charge of £124.99 was on my credit card which shouldn’t have been charged if I didn’t do online banking I would’ve have seen it before left all.I Was told it was an error in their system I don’t think this is good enough no real apology Iam disappointed at this also the service in the bar for our meal was very slow and they didn’t have what I ordered on Friday night again no apology

We were delighted to be back again in the Grand Hotel - the renovations have made such a massive difference to the quality of a stay there. From the beautiful bedrooms to the gorgeous lobby (which really is Grand now!) to the delicious food, everything is 5 stars!

Whether it is to celebrate a Big Birthday (we brought our family there for my 70th) or a cosy 24 hour break for ourselves, the Grand is a winner!

Hotel is being renovated atm but this did not affect our stay at all. Beautiful location, great size of room, spotlessly clean. Most enjoyable spa.

Dinner was horrible. Wait staff was almost non existent. 20 minutes for drinks. The breaded fish was all batter, tiny fish. The breaded chicken was too much batter, minimal chicken & DRY. STEVEN our waiter never returned to check on us or see if we needed anything. Very bad experience.
On a pisitive note the bartender in the bar in the back was lovely. She was very attentive and kind. She made us feel welcome and she was fun to chat with. Everyone at the bar enjoyed her and we had a good time.

We enjoyed our stay at this well-located hotel in Malahide. The room was very clean and comfortable (our only quibble was that the pillows were not as comfortable as the bed.) The breakfast buffet is very good. The staff were friendly and helpful. We'll stay here again the next time we're in Malahide.

Our stay at the Grand hotel on New Years eve was great. Our room was very nice and the upgrade very welcome. Thr hotrl was decorated lovely for Christmas and there was a hood atmosphere for New Years eve. The breakfast however was nice a good selection but the cooked breakfast was not warm, eggs were very over cooked and everythong else cool and rubbery.

When we booked this room it was for 3 people on your website. When we arrived hotel told us only booked for 2 at your end which was very disappointing and we had to pay extra for our daughter. Would be very reluctant to use your site again as it was very misleading information.

The updated rooms with Dyson hairdryer, Nespresso Coffee machine and large walk-in shower are a lovely addition. The rooms have all had a refreshing makeover. I intend to keep going for another 20 years +.

We have stayed at The Grand on a number of occasions and always enjoyed the ambience - including the friendliness of the staff. However ...

We generally book the same type of room - the 'superior' twin or double - but there was no doubt that the space in our room last week was significantly less that that of the room we were allocated in July - so we were slightly disappointed. The room did feel a little cramped - partly because of the extra bed - which we had no need of.

Two of the staff on reception were not at all welcoming infact quite dismissive.
My main complaint was the lack of GF ( none) in the bar area and yet they had GF beer ?
We ate in the main restaurant and the food was very good with GF options and the head waitress in the restaurant was excellent both at dinner and breakfast

Everything was great, it's a beautiful hotel in a very picturesque area. The only negative comment I have concerns some of the food in the restaurant. I had a fish dish, sea bream, which was a bit tasteless and had quite a few bones in it. Considering the prices It was disappointing and I didn't enjoy it very much. I would certainly stay there again but wouldn't eat the restaurant. However the bar food the evening before was excellent

Our room on both mornings had no hot water and the radiator in bedroom didn’t work. The fan in bathroom did not work either. All was reported at time.

I was going to the Steelers game in Dublin and chose to stay outside the city for a bit of quiet in the evenings. Great choice! Easy trip in (from the train stop a few blocks away). I especially enjoyed the bars and restaurants in the hotel. It's a lovely place!

We stayed here for a week. The staff was friendly, the room was clean and the area was nice. We took taxi’s into Dublin for activities each day, during low traffic times the fee was reasonable but during high traffic times it can cost up to about $50 US. Taxi drivers always arrived early like 15-25 minutes but are always willing to wait.

Love the location and the setting of the hotel! It has a lovely bar where we enjoyed a light bite while watching the Ryder Cup. Breakfast was great as was the view of the water from the dining room. The room was comfortable, and spacious. Wish we had more time to spend there! It was also very convenient to the airport.

Love the new decor but the room was too hot even in Sept and the fan didn’t cool it( no a/c). Also the round about way to get to a room on floor 5 required a map and 2 elevators or stairs and an elevator, very confusing ( had to help about 5 people in the hall find the way during my short stay) and inconvenient. Some of the food could be better.

The Grand Hotel is an easy walk to the Railway Station, Malahide village and the Malahide Castle and gardens. The hotel is in the Grand Style of yesteryear with many updates. The ocean and sand dunes and beach walk is just outside the hotel. Great area to walk around in. Many guests played golf on the Malahide golf course. Malahide village has a great selection of good restaurants. Bus from the airport stopped outside the hotel.

Extremely beautiful hotel inside and out! Many dining/food/drink options inside hotel. Easy to walk to town, pubs, beach...Loved having an expresso/coffee machine in my room. Also had a great view of the water, boats, and sunrise was my bedroom window. Check-in & check-out was quick and easy just like making the reservation online. Room was large and comfortable. highly recommend!

We had a wonderful experience at the Grand Hotel.
The hotel lives up to its name – elegant, welcoming, and beautifully located right on the seafront. The rooms were spacious, clean, and very comfortable, with everything I needed for a relaxing stay.

The staff were warm, professional, and went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice, and the bar and restaurant offered delicious meals with a lovely atmosphere.
