I was very disappointed in the cleanliness of the room. The did not seem to have been dusted, or vacuumed. The bathroom sink did not look to be cleaned and had what appeared to be makeup residue all over it. The soap dispensers were nearly empty. You are only given 2 bath towels and a tiny floor mat. The wall next to the bed appeared to have things smeared on the wall. There must be a night club attached to the building because you can hear and feel the bass of the music until 3AM. Even with ear plugs you can still hear the music and feel the vibrations.

I always stay here in London. I heard a visitor from the US complaining that there was no hairdryer in the room. There’s no coffee or tea either. This suits me fine. Bring your own stuff or book somewhere else if you want a traditional hotel.

The rooms were very poorly laid out and didn’t have any glasses, fridge, shower door c shower storage, or extra pillows. We asked for pillows three times and never received any. The hotel staff was not polite and seemed bothered when approached. Worst part was the smoke detector was set off by the shower steam and we had to change rooms at 10pm. No accommodation apology was offered and they spoke to us as if it inconvenienced them. the location was the only positive.

The location of this hotel is great, but unfortunately, everything else was a huge disappointment.

Our room had no windows, felt dark and claustrophobic, and had almost no space to store or hang clothes. Basic amenities were inconvenient, like having to go to another floor just to iron. Housekeeping was also terrible—our room was never cleaned, the bed was never made, and towels were never replaced during our stay.

They also charge £15 per bag for luggage storage, which felt excessive.

The absolute worst part was finding a bed bug crawling on our bed sheets the morning we were leaving. I had been waking up with painful, itchy bites on my legs and thought they were mosquito bites, but seeing the bed bug confirmed otherwise. It was disgusting and disturbing to realize I had spent two nights sleeping in those conditions. I ended up needing medical attention after returning home because of how severe the bites became.

Staff seemed unfazed when I reported it, which was honestly shocking. Between the poor service, hidden fees, and serious bed bug issue, I would never stay here again.

I asked 3 seperate times for a clean and new towels and was told we only clean after 5 nights
Signage terrible
No staircase to get yo and down to avoid waiting for lifts
Very disorientating as there is no natural light anywhere.. feels like a bunker

Amazing location. lovely fresh reception, always staff around, smelt lovely. lots of lifts. carpets in corridors for rooms very stained. door to our corridor you had to swipe card to gain access, but didnt work, so anyone could just walk around. no hairdryers in rooms, just 10 ish for the whole hotel in 2 'beauty rooms'. one of the plugs in our room didnt work

Got called into surgery the day of my event and stay, explained this to Zedwell & asked to amend to another day, refused. I received the letter one day after my booking and let them know immediately. While I completely understand a non refundable booking, I thought they’d have more empathy. No one wants to be called into an operation they weren’t expecting.

The hotel is close to everything but some things needs to improve. They need to get better about getting access to the rooms. To go to the elevator anyone can come up.. Would be better if they only allow whoever has a card key. You don’t need a card key to go to the elevator. Inside the room there was no hairdryer and the housekeeping only comes every 3 days. They should clean the room everyday or whenever the guests need it.

For the price this isnt acceptable and i clealy should have read the hotel details more. Just expected these as standard. Other than that it was ok. Hallway carpets dirty and well worn. But its a hallway.

The room and bathroom were clean with towels and essential toiletries. The check in process on an iPad was easy and there were plenty of staff on hand for help with this and checkout.
The location is ideal for theatres , cinemas etc being in Piccadilly and close to Leicester Square, China town, Covent Garden and Soho.
The hotel seemed very busy in the reception area but once in your room we heard no other noise. The air conditioning was quiet and efficient.
We would definitely stay here again as the price is reasonable considering location.

The room and hotel were ideal for our needs, few bits of cosmetic maintenance needed but nothing major. Either need fitted sheets of the housekeepers need to be trained to make sure the sheets are on secure, I had to remake both beds to get the sheets to stay on.

When checked in, the iPad doesn’t work while typed in my information. That is your only way of check in and out, it should have been check daily are they working properly or not. Apart from that room is what you need for a night stay. There only one towel each. Face towel would have been helpful.

Very convenient location. Budget . Cocoon design no window. Slept well cos room is down the hall, very quiet. Booked Two twin beds . Lack amenities like hangers , hooks and hairdryer. But offer a beauty room same floor for hairdryer. 10 lbs for delivery to your room Overall staff are nice . Good location. I paid extra for early check in and late check out. Extra 90 lbs Baggage fee is 15 lbs per bag cheaper than doing storage

I had the best nights sleep in this hotel. It was extremely quiet. even the fan was quiet but worked well. The room was clean,the check in was easy.The hotel felt safe for a single traveller.
The calmness of the hotel helps anyone who needs a break or to just quiet down for a bit.

They are like the cheapest of the cheap airlines that nickel and dime you for everything: $80 for a few hours of early checkin, $25 for holding your bag, no fresh towels or linens for a 5 night stay, no garbage removal, no coffee, no nothing!

The location was so central. Right in the centre of London. Close to everything theatres shops and the best restaurants. Right off the bat, they wanted £40 to check-in early. Rather than give available rooms to folks first come first served like other hotels, they wanted more money.

The cocoon concept seemed pretty cool, except the room we got…
- has no windows
- is split in two vertically so you have to crawl around like you’re camping (hit my head twice) and the ladder is in the way of the bottom one
- there is nowhere to put stuff except in the crawl spaces in front of the bed and one “platform” for one suitcase (no nightstand, no counter space in the bathroom, no closet, no hangers, no desk) had to use the toilet and the top of the garbage can
- there is nowhere to sit except the bed, and the toilet
- nothing in the room (no coffee, no iron, no hair dryer, no TV, no cups, no ice bucket, nada)
- no front desk (though it says so on the amenities) only a row of iPads for self check-in and a few people loitering around
- no phone to call the non-existent front desk to ask if they have any of the items above
- lots of outlets for charging, yet none in the bathroom for hair drying (brought our own)(maybe it’s UK code)
- not see through but translucent bathroom divider (I left the room while my daughter showered)
- can’t turn the AC down below 19 degrees but room never got below 23
- then, to top it all off, they wanted £45 to out the bags in storage at checkout
- same price as a few other “normal”/“real” hotels, not including early check-in fees and fee

We stayed here on two separate occasions on our recent travels to London. First, you check in with a tablet, so you get no interaction from a person while checking in. We just got off of a 9 hour flight and went out to explore London a bit after putting our luggage in our room. When we got back, we noticed none of the electrical sockets were working in the room. I informed the staff of the issue but told them that they could not come due to the kids sleeping. They never came the next day until I had to ask again. It is very difficult navigating around a new city without a phone to guide you because it is dead. When we returned the next stay, I wanted to try the sockets first thing. When I plugged in my adapter, sparks flew everywhere. The bathroom was filthy disgusting as well. London was great but this hotel was the worst part about our vacation.

The location is extremely convenient. Chinatown is just 3 minutes walking. Metro station is 3 minutes walking. Room size is just right. As there is no windows, it is very quiet and good for sleeping. I am sure to stay here again in my next trip.

Amazing location! Literally sleeping next to the Theatre in Piccadilly!!! 😊. We booked the hotel to watch Les Mis which was absolutely incredible if you are thinking about a theatre trip. Easy check in. There was staff there to help with any hiccups. Friendly staff. Clean entrance with a few seats to charge phones etc. There was a really nice gym, not sure if you had to pay extra. Cafe area and more seating and work areas. Heads up, bag storage is £15 per suitcase and early check in £
40. Room was super clean and very simple. No hairdryers or any frills but that's fine for what we wanted. Check out easy. Beautiful Japanese restaurant opposite called Shoryu . We had a fab time!

I had paid for early check in and it was a process. We missed an appt in London because we couldn’t leave luggage. We were traveling with our adult kids and the frosted glass in the bathrooms is not very good for privacy. I would not stay here again.

Stayed here for one night in a cocoon and overall it’s exceptional value for money.

The location is unbeatable and check-in was quick and easy. I’d read reviews mentioning issues for Expedia bookings, but I didn’t run into any problems at all.

My first room (2nd floor) was spotless, spacious, with a nice bathroom and a decent bed — but there was loud nightclub noise coming from below. I spoke to reception and they moved me straight away, which suggests they’re aware it can be an issue.

The new room on the 7th floor was quieter, though slightly smaller.

A few things to be aware of: rooms are very minimal — no hairdryer, iron, fridge, or even glasses. For the price, that’s fair enough, but worth knowing in advance. That said, the WiFi was fast and reliable and the air conditioning worked really well, which made a big difference. There is very limited privacy between the bathroom and the bedroom which wasn’t an issue as I was on my own, but something to bear in mind if travelling with someone else.

There’s also a large basement cafeteria area with a coffee shop, which is handy.

Bottom line: great budget option in a prime location — just ask to avoid the 2nd floor if you want a good night’s sleep.

The hotel is in a great location and the staff are friendly and helpful. My gripe was with the shower in our room. The water wouldn’t drain quickly so if you showered more then a minute the bathroom would flood. There was no tub just a small glass wall between the shower and the toilet and sink.

I asked the staff the first morning we were there to send maintenance to unclog the drain and the woman told me she put in a work order. She said someone would come sort it out that day which was fine since we were out all day. Needless to say nothing changed and the bathroom still flooded.

I don’t want to give the hotel too low of a rating since everything else was great but the shower situation really annoyed me.

The hotel was a major disappointment. The room lacked even basic furniture—there was no chair, no small table, and not even proper towel hangers. Towels were left on the bed, so you had to put them on the floor if you wanted to sleep comfortably.

The overall cleanliness was poor, and on top of that, they charge an extra fee for daily room cleaning, which is unacceptable. The internet was also down for more than 10 hours during my stay.

I would strongly recommend staying somewhere else—almost any other option would be better.

I made it to the hotel and let the staff know, they all stepped in without hesitation. Would highly recommend. Will be staying here if I ever come back to London.

If you’re a Black solo traveler especially a Black woman please be cautious here. Not all, but some staff and security were very unwelcoming and I experienced racial discrimination. Just something to be aware of.

The location is amazing, it is inexpensive, the facility is great.
Rooms are very basics but surprisely big considering the price.
The staff are discreet but above all courteous, welcoming and helpful despite the volume of customers. It's a very lively place while still being calming. I highly recommend 😊.

Internet was good. The bathroom wasn’t gross, but I also wouldn’t say it was very clean. Bed was hard, but the room was super quiet and comfy. You’ll be charged extra for everything you should get for free. Checking in early isn’t an option without a fee, nor is leaving your bags - without a fee.

The location is absolutely fantastic. Steps away from the Piccadilly Circus Tube station, tons of restaurants nearby (including Chinatown), and even multiple grocery store options. The Cocoon room was perfect for a solo traveler trying to adjust to the time zone. There was no city noise, despite being in a very busy area. I didn't like that there was an extra fee (£40) to check in early and a fee to hold onto your bags (£15) if you want to explore while waiting for check in time. Also, check out at 10am is a little ridiculous. All the staff that I interacted with were lovely and very helpful when I needed to ask for towels, etc.
