The room was very clean and had everything we needed. Very comfortable duvets? nice view of canal. Typical European shower but large bathroom and clean. The room had a safe, an ironing board and a small fridge. The breakfast was convenient and a great way to start the day. I would recommend this location to anybody. The only very slight drawback was a little bit more of a walk than I wanted every day at the start/emd of the day, but overall still a great stay!

We didn’t have breakfast. Upon arriving, the reception told us that there might be a room available. Then told us no but there was an upgrade for an extra $150. We declined and sat in the lobby before leaving for lunch. The receptionist said that a room was now available and gave us a room on the bottom floor 1005. I will not book your hotel the next time because I heard the same receptionist said the same thing to some new arrivals. That there is no availability but there is an upgrade. A little too much of a coincidence. I will just stay at the Tivoli Hotel across the street. My son and I had a great stay before leaving to Stockholm

If you’re considering a visit to Copenhagen, I highly recommend a stay at the Copenhagen Island hotel.

The hotel is very well-placed, close to local rail services, shops, and the city centre.

The hotel itself is fantastic, and the staff are very helpful, knowledgeable, and always ready to assist or answer any questions you may have.

The room was lovely and welcoming, and the bathroom was clean and tidy. The breakfast was fantastic, with a wide variety of options to suit every dietary need.

While the hotel was modern and the rooms spacious, the service we received was terrible and the rooms not soundproof enough.

Room cleaning is “on request”

Although everytime i requested no one came to clean and we were left with dirty hotel room for the majority of the stay.

I had to seek out cleaners for fresh towels and toilet paper (embarrassing)

Not only this, but on our arrival the hotel staff attempted to upsell us to a bigger room, we were happy with what we purchased so didn’t feel it necessary.

However, unfortunately the room next to us had someone who snored incredibly loud, you could hear it in our room and it made sleeping incredibly hard.

I ended up going to the hotel desk at around 2am one of the morning asking to be move to another room, even if it was a smaller one, I was told no rooms available and just fobbed off, no follow up, nothing.
Funny considering not even 24 hours ago they were trying to sell me a bigger room.

So I was Just left in a room where sleep was impossible for the duration of my stay! With no cleaning attempted at all.

Flies on the breakfast is unforgivable!

Beds a little too firm, but each will have different preferences!

Aspects that we liked.

Location: 20mins away from city center and train station, which for us was perfect as we like a walk. Its easy to navigate and always felt safe. Water front, and right next door to the Mall, cinema, restaurants and a Lidls. Very happy.

Room: great size. Fridge, hair dryer, big bathroom etc. (TV did not work, but we weren't there to watch TV so a minor point.

Staff: super friendly.

Great view from the balcony and close to the food hall and metro station for getting around, would happily stay again and recommend to friends

It doesn’t quite reach the 4 star level.
Rooms lack comfortable beds (very narrow single beds) and bathrooms without a separate shower. Service like cleaning is only on demand which I prefer to be standard. You need to inform every day when you need cleaning which seems odd. At breakfast they close sections although it is super busy. It is not so courteous but my check out was a great experience with support for my luggage. Location is very convenient as well.

This was quite a basic hotel and overall I’m not sure I’d return but the price was right and location was pretty good but it’s not hugely central

Pros:
-Balcony room overlooked the water
-Close to Metro and walking to Meatpacking district

Cons:
-Rooms could be cleaner, particularly the fridge was mouldy at the back and the bath tiles were black
-Shower is over the bath
-Walls and floors are paper thin so you hear everyone in the corridor walking or wheeling cases. If we hadn’t been on the top floor I’m sure we’d have heard the room above too
-Hotel bar wasn’t accommodating unless you sat a formal table, couldn’t have a casual drink and it was very empty
-Balcony is very very small just enough for two chairs

Fairly new hotel in a redeveloped harbour area. 5 minutes walk to Metro so easy access from airport and city centre. Shopping centre with food court opposite hotel.

Offered an upgrade but declined. Hotel Copenhagen Island was superb. Metro from airport was simple. Head into mall, go upstairs and hotel next door. Full line grocery store-Fotex-in mall.

Staff was professional and personal. Room was smallish but nicely designed.

If you are a walker, Google Maps worked great. Short walk to subway station or bus station. Hotel central to major attractions.

If I return I will rebook to this hotel. For me, hotel and staff were the best!

For a 5 stars hotel - nothing crazy, but affordable as for CPH standards. Rooms quite old, could use some renovation. Bathroom could have been cleaner. Reception area very nice. Breakfast good but not many vegetarian options. You have to book cleaning of the room otherwise they won’t clean it. Rooms are quite small and not well sound isolated. All in all a very average hotel, not what you’d expect from 5 stars.

It’s such a pleasure to stay at a hotel where you don’t need to ask for anything; everything is already in the room. The view is amazing, and I loved the heated bathroom floor. All amenities are thoughtfully provided, from towels and extra pillows to an iron and hair dryer. The location is also a big plus, with easy access to the metro, shopping mall, and plenty of food places nearby. If you enjoy the water, you can even go for a swim right outside!

I highly recommend Copenhagen Island Hotel and would love to stay here again. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

The property and surrounding area are relatively new with a lovely view of the harbor but the rooms are still quite small for the expense and breakfast is an additional $30 per person. This hotel is most appropriate for business travelers on expense accounts who will be conducting meetings nearby. For a tourist on a vacation, the area lacks walkable food options other than the stores in the large mall next door. All the sights we wanted to see were a minimum of 20 minutes away by walking or metro. I would recommend staying some place more central.

Copenhagen Island Hotel was a nice hotel, though maybe a little further away from the main city's attractions, if travelling without a car. Excellent location for riverside walks and bike rides. Even though we had a city (Ikea!) view from our room, still pleasant enough. We were able to see the late night firework display from Tivoli on Saturday evening, bonus! Housekeeping by request, which suited us fine, though our room was serviced on day 4 of our 5 night stay.

The building is quite new and well maintained, the room was spotless, has a mini bar and a kettle. We arrived in the morning and the roo was available, which was super nice after the long trip. They have an outdoor pool in the sea canal. The water is cold, but there is a gym and the sauna on the top floor, you can warm up there. The views were beautiful from the room and the restaurant. Breakfast buffett had a good variety of foods. The stuff was attentive to our needs at all times.

4 star experience because a 50-meter harbour lap pool is unbeatable. And very congenial evening restaurant service. 5th floor room with beautiful views, windows, balcony.

However, a number of things are not to Copenhagen standard:
- 3 days of trying to get the room cleaned
- app check-in does not upgrade, provide perks, offer cleaning or room service
- iron is not steam. Bring your own steamer to look professional
- no coffee maker and minimal amenities
- no blackout curtains
- 2nd floor (before upgrade) bathroom had bad smell from drains

I was highly impressed by the staff, who were wonderful during checkin, breakfast, and storing our suitcases. The friendly and accommodating treatment elevated the entire experience. At first I felt ambivalent about a room directly next to the lobby. The room was the most quiet room I have stayed in compared to probably hundreds of hotels. We absolutely loved the walk from the hotel to the city center as it took as along the water from modern architecture to the old city center.

We loved our stay at this hotel. We had a harbour view room which was wonderful - both doors opened fully with a glass panel allowing an uninterrupted view outside over the inner harbour and harbour swimming pool. The breakfast was excellent and all the staff so polite and efficient. The location is brilliant - walkable to the main station but two stations for metro/S-tog within 5-6 mins walk and a stop for the harbour bus (boat) not much further. Would definitely stay here again if in Copenhagen. Very good value compared with other Copenhagen hotels too.
