They nickle and dime you. Breakfast doesn't not include juice or eggs...those cost extra 😬
Nowhere to fill a bottle of water—you must purchase disposable plastic bottles. Anyways...it's mid.

Lovely place to stay away from home. Safety, security, clean and well managed place. Professional staff. Clean beds, clean baths. Lots of amenities and close to major attractions and transportation hubs. I love it and would recommend Wombat to any travelers on the budget.

Steps for top bunk are terrible and hurt my feet. I hate the bathroom in the room style with nothing else available on the entire floor so if someone is in the shower or toilet for a long time you can’t do anything about it if you need to get ready or use the loo. Front desk nice enough. Lounge area on basement floor is cool but loud. Good wifi. Ok location. Close to food but not in the best area safety wise. Lockers were in the middle of the room stacked. Never seen this or having the full bathroom in the room at a hostel. Horrible design because not only are they too small for anything more than a backpack but if you wanted to try to fit your suitcase on the top lockers you can’t if your bag is heavy.

I didnt received an email with £1 discount. Guy at the reception had no clue. Basically all guys at the reception had no knowlege and they seemed annoyed when I asked them for more info or help. Cleaning staff should work at the reception as they were very friendly and helpfull.
It was too much noise in the dorm.
Overall last year I had much better experience.

I never have an experience to stay in the hostel. I have a doubt at 1st, but I gave it a try. I was amazed with cleanliness. Theres so many things to do in the property checking in it’s so easy and the lady fro. Front desk named Ellen is so nice and accommodating I will definitely come back again to this hostel. Feel free to experience for your self .

Honestly the best hostel I have stayed at. If you are a single woman stay in the female 6 bedroom ensuite!! It’s so big and there is a separate counter with sink for you to do your makeup from the sink that’s inside with the shower. The toilet is also separate so it’s so convenient in the mornings when getting ready. The area is great about a 5 minute walk to the Tower hill tube line. You also have tower bridge and the Tower of London within a 5 minute walk!

I stayed here for a week in mid- September and loved every minute of it. I am an older gentleman who wanted a place close to the river, London Tower, and the Tower Bridge and to the Underground. This establishment fit the bill for all of those. The staff (including front desk, housekeeping, and the bar and entertainment folks went over and above to make sure that the guest were taken care of.
Most of the people staying there were young people from all over the world. They were all very well-mannered and very respective. Great activities planned each night in the bar whether it was Trivial Quiz, Comedy night or anything else. They had a very good, but low-key security folks on hand also.
No complaints and I will stay there the next time I am in London!!

Definitely one of the better Hostels - super clean, well looked after. The rooms are really nice and private and the added fan is 10/10. The lockers are a bit small and will only fit really a cabin size bag. But that was ok with me. The dryers however are actually trash and it’s takes multiple cycles to dry with £5
a pop not worth it. Wash it then take your laundry to dry elsewhere.

The room was clean and the shower had great hot water and high pressure. The toilet was a bit finicky, though, and one of our faucets wouldn’t shut off all the way, so it was slowly dripping water. There are a few trains close by, making it easy to get farther away. The Tower Bridge and other attractions are an easy walk away.

Cool basement bar and nice staff, opened until like 12/1am. They have comedy night which is new. They allow to pay for late check out but it has to be before 2-3am, just remember that. But cool place, curtains on the beds, hot in the summer, walkable to two trains and a bridge!

The bedroom accommodations were excellent. Lock-up options in the rooms were included in the price (i.e. no need to rent or purchase a lock which I've had to do at other hostels): a large locker at the room entrance and a small code-operated locker in the bed itself. Beds all also included a small personal fan which was lovely to have and definitely makes the rooms more accessible to all bodies. Rooms were spacious with well-kempt toilets and showers each in the rooms themselves instead of shared facilities outside of the rooms. The shared kitchen was excellent to have and helped me reduce costs for food and also socialize. The kitchen gets very messy though and isn't cleaned out nearly enough - seems like it's just allowed to get as dirty as it gets naturally throughout the day with no concern to it being a shared space for many people (definitely needs more intentional effort to get in and clean out the sinks, put away dishes, clean out shared fridges, etc.). Overall very happy with my stay.

Great hostel. You pay a little bit extra than you would for others but it is so worth it for here. Second time staying here after once in 2023 and this time round was even better. Since my last stay they’ve added curtains to all beds as well as a fan and a safe in each bunk. Only pitfall is the rooms can be quite stuffy depsite the fans. Card swipe for entrance, door room, and you use it to access your locker as well. Bathroom is solid for a hostel, shower warms up quickly however doesn’t get very cold if you’re wanting to cool down.

Continental breakfast is solid, you can make toasties, they have little porridge cups, and a coffee machine amongst other bits and pieces.

Bar downstairs is great, always lively. People that stay hear are lovely too, could defs solo travel here. Staff are fantastic and quickly resolved any issues, chatty as well when you check in which makes you feel welcome.

Location is close to tower bridge so you’re on the east side, but two tube stops are 10 minute walks away and it takes about 10-15 more minutes on the tube to get to all the main sights and attractions in central London. However, the location is close to Shoreditch and Brick Lane vintage market, onky short walks away. Plenty of supermarkets nearby as well.

100% recommend staying here :)

I've stayed in Wombat's before, but another location. This one was not as good as the first one, but it was clean. They had karaoke night one evening, and the music was very loud in the bedroom. But gladly they didn't finish that late. I think my biggest issue was the temperature of the bedrooms. It was extremely hot and I couldn't sleep well, even with the individual fan on. Woke up every morning an all sweaty and sticky,even when the outside temperature was not that hot. The problem was inside the bedroom itself.

It was a pleasant stay in the hostel. All facilities are clean and well maintained. I stayed in a 4-bed dorm which was very quiet. The roommates are very respectful. The area is nice and very close to a nice walking trail along the river and quay.

The bad side is the property is close to a railway which could be noisy before 12am.

I was here for a very short one night. The property was beautiful I felt very safe. The location was good you are about 10min walk or less from 2 train stations and maybe 15-20 from the Crown Jewels. The room was nice I was in a 6 bed room girls. You get a bed and a locker that is opened and closed with your key card. The are curtains on the bed and a personal fan inside each bed as well as an additional safe. I like the design of the bathrooms as well. Two sinks one inside a closed door sharing space with a shower and the other in the open space. And additional door leads to the bathroom. I bumped the rating down for things I probably should not blame them for but I am. It was very hot in there. I didn’t use my personal fan because it was covered in dust and I already struggle with allergies. The “Luggage Storage” was an up charge 6 pounds 24hrs so not bad. The coffee bar was very VERY limited on food options and the water they had out was not good. However there are grocery/convent stores near buy so I bought a water. There were food options but no chain restaurants that I recognized (coming from an American). OHHH worst part about my stay was the train. Even though the station is a 10 minute walk from the hostel the is a train on a bridge near by that I seat came by every 30 minutes and it was so LOUD! I am not a light sleeper but it made it difficult to fall asleep. If you are a light sleeper I doubt you would get any sleep here.

No issues with the place it self. Even though I was in a dorm of 4 the person above me woke me up in the middle of the night due to noise. I had to be up really early which was frustrating. I didn’t get much sleep. But the place is okay. Good for the price. One thing I found good is the lockers are free inside the rooms and quite big. I felt that my luggage and belongings were safe.

The property was very close to the London tower and had quite a few restaurants within walking distance. Although transportation was a bit far from the hostel, I felt it was still easy to reach and it was easy to get around the city. The room was also very clean and nice, I really enjoyed having privacy curtains and big lockers in the room. There were also many events happening so it’s easy to meet people. Overall a great place to stay if you’re solo traveling!

Had the BEST stay at wombats. The staff were friendly and helpful, even let me do laundry after my checkout time. Stayed in an 8 bed dorm and each bed comes with a fan and safe, which was a huge plus as it got quite muggy in the room. If there were wombats locations to where I'm travelling next, I'd be staying there for sure.

The location is great with Tower Hill station a 5 min walk away and lots of local pubs in the area. Super accessible.

The room is not sound proof… They only give you bed sheets etc and you have to set up the bed by yourself, and you have to return those to reception. If someone arrive late or leave early, this can make a lot of noise, not to mention that the bunk bed is made of steel, which amplifies the noise. Besides, the bathroom is inside the room, you can hear it clearly when someone is using.

Towel rent 2pounds, luggage storage 4pounds for 8h small locker, no shower gel or shampoo…

Stayed here as a solo female traveler. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I thought this place wasnt that busy, but everyone is at the WomBar! Highly recommended you head down there to socialize. The only issue I had was a weird smell in the bathroom. I'm not sure if that was because I had messy roommates or if there was another issue.

Beds are AWFUL! It’s a 4 inch thick light weight foam pad on top of a metal slat bed frame. I couldn’t sleep all night even though u was trashed from going out. My back was ruined the next day. Besides the bed the property was spectacular. The bar is great for meeting people and the facilities are clean.

My first time staying at a Hostel. So i was skeptic. So I decided to book the 'higher end' 4 bed and still save big $ over a london hotel.
I lucked out with great roomies. I was so impressed with the common areas.
I didnt cook, but if i go back i will. Some of the dishes were so creative....looked and smelled amazing. Love the bar area too.
Taking advantage of the optional and inexpensive locker storage was a huge help. I had a late flight and had time to sight see without having to lug the extras.
Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Mold in shower and unsanitary

I don’t typically post reviews but this experience wasn’t a great one. I have stayed here in the past and loved those experiences and had no issues as such. But the photos displayed show mold and these shower conditions left me feeling unsafe to continue sleeping and led me to check out early.

When I spoke to the staff at the front counter about the incident not even as much an apology was issued for the uncleaned state of the bathroom.

On top of this, I was there when the cleaning crew for the morning came in. The woman cleaning, didn’t even make an effort to clean or bleach the moldy shower. She came in threw some soap down and let the shower run for a few seconds before drying with a damp cloth and proceeded to do similar with other shared facilities in the room.

I've stayed at Wombat's many times when visiting London for work, as it's just near my office...

I've always been very satisfied with this place... It's fairly new, it's clean and comfortable, and the rooms are modern...

The bathrooms are always great and the showers are nice and hot...

The only thing I did not give Wombat's 5 stars on was \"comfort\", because sometimes the heaters in the rooms can be too hot, and it's difficult to get to sleep...

Anyway, that would be my only complaint about Wombat's

I was recently on a trip that I ended up staying at multiple different hostels and this one was hands down the best for comfort. The location is a bit out of the way but easy enough to get to a train station or walk over towards Tower Bridge. But the room spacious as well as the ensuite shower and toilet. Having the lock box in the bed made it easy to have my phone and other belongings I wanted close right there. The bed was comfortable and the personal fan and bed shade were nice touches. I 100% would and will stay here again on my next visit to London.

It was my first time staying in a hostel and this was such an amazing stay! The rooms were clean and we had housekeeping everyday! This will be my go to spot every time I stay in London! It’s a fairly quiet are (minus your usually cars passing by) and the fellow residents are respectful when it comes to quiet time. There is a buffet for breakfast and it was quite enjoyable!
