Fantastic location by the river in the Altstadt. All of the main sights are walkable and closeby. Room was comfortable with a fan provided as there is no air conditioning. No car park, so use the adjacent street until the bridge car park reopens (€6 per 24hrs).

Good value hotel for a location just outside Altstadt - it's about 200m away/5 minute walk from Bruhl's Terrace. The rooms are nice, spacious and most offer a decent view. My only issue was the WiFI which was atrocious, almost unusable.

According to the reception: \"It isn't worth it.\" View of the Elbe limited, because the hotel is more or less sideways to the river.

The Hotel Am Terrassenufer offers a convenient and comfortable base from which to explore the remarkable city of Dresden and its surrounding landscape. I encountered friendly and helpful staff, my room was spacious, elegant and bright, and the breakfasts were something to look forward to. The hotel offers a laundry service, and a restaurant which is open on most days of the week. Just walking distance from the historic Innere Altstadt. If you can, try and secure a room with a view over the River Elbe. I would be pleased to stay here again when I visit Dresden again.

Good location, great views, walkable.

You can walk to the Altstadt in 10 minutes or to the VW Transparent Factory in 15 min and have a room with gorgeous views over the River and city by staying here. Very easy to find if you are driving and even though the hotel does not have it's own parking lot/garage, there is street parking available next to the hotel for up to 3 days which you pay for at a pay station and leave the receipt on your dashboard. We didn't even use our car during our stay as we could walk to the Altstadt in 10 minutes and to the VW Transparent Factory in 15 min. As the hotel is located right on the edge of the Elbe River the rooms have beautiful views, especially awesome at night. The riverwalk is lovely and easily accessible. Typical of European hotels, the breakfast is expensive so we only did that once. There is no coffee pot in the room, however, and the closest coffee shop is about an 8 minute walk. There are 2 grocery stores nearby and you can catch a tram about 2 blocks way.
We would definitely stay here again!

Very nice stay. Reception and dining staff were pleasant and helpful. The building doesn't look that great from the outside but inside is spacious and modern. My room was large with a lovely view towards the river and town. I was on the top floor. It isn't a deluxe hotel, crammed with facilities but, then, you are not paying a commensurate price. All in all, a very good tourist/business stay in a quiet area within a few minutes walk of the town. The only slight negative was the flat, floppy pillows, which I have found in other hotels too.

Please note that this hotel all thought it advertises it has double rooms it doesnt have any. All rooms are twin rooms with the beds just pushed together. The bed frames are not fixed/locked together in any way and they only have single quilts, therefore, if you booked a double room like we did dont expect one.

After stating he didn't speak English, the attendant at the check-in desk began speaking English after a few boggled attempts at communicating with my wife. I know it's Germany not the U.S., but if you can speak English why would you lie?

Very good hotel with some minor issues. Beds were very comfortable and the bedrooms were large. Staff were excellent as was dinner. The location is excellent for visiting the city centre.

The slightly negative aspects were that the hotel is beginning to feel a little tired, the breakfast was good but not great and the seating area in reception is soulless.

Overall I'd very happily stay at this hotel again.

Excellent location for Dresden old town. Comfortable rooms and good breakfast. But you have to pay for wifi and on the 10th floor the signal was still so poor, I had to open the room door and hold my iPad out into the corridor every time I sent an email!

We enjoyed a terrific stay in Dresden at the Hotel Am Terrassenufer and I can't praise it enough. All of the staff were friendly without exception and all of them were fluent in English, most useful on account of our extremely poor German! Room was very spacious with nice facilities and a great view over the River Elbe. Hotel was easy to find with signposts nearby and the location was great for easy access to all of Dresdens great locations. I would like a special mention for our barman in the hotel on the Saturday evening who looked after us very well and demonstrated exceptional English once again. I really can't speak highly enough of this hotel and would recommend it and certainly not hesitate to use it again on our next trip to beautiful Dresden.

Great location

This hotel is a renovated housing tower that may well still be demolished at some point given its prominent location and jarringly modern exterior next to the old city. As is, the location and views are spectacular. My room faced away from the old city (the views of which are amazing day and night when you step out of the elevator from the upper four floors of twelve), but even that side has amazing views of the Elbe River and the city beyond, including on a clearer day the amazing rock pillar formations beyond Dresden. The room was clean and very spacious by European or US standards with huge operable windows. The hotel does appear to host many large tour groups, which means waits for 2 elevators can seem long if you happen to hit a particular time. The smoking allowed right outside the entrance doors was incredibly annoying, but apparently also completely legal and very common throughout the country. The hotel is right across the street from a long walking and biking path that can take you many miles outside of town. It was also a pleasant walk from the main train station through the old city to the hotel. A complete grocery store is just about two blocks from the hotel. Hotel staff were very friendly and at least bilingual. I would certainly stay here again if in Dresden.

A lovely hotel, very conveniently situated.

The hotel is situated right alongside the river Elbe, within 5 minutes walk of the historic and re-built 'old town', with loads of very reasonably priced restaurants en route. The hotel Breakfast Buffet was excellent, and we had a very nice evening meal, also not expensive, in the hotel restaurant, with excellent wine - try the Dornfelder, its a luscious red!
The room was good, the bed a bit on the hard side. The key-cards proved a bit problematic, sometimes needing 6 or more attempts before working to open the door. Even the hotel staff struggled with the pass-key when we reported the problem... Nevertheless an excellent 5 day stay. Well recommended.

This is not the prettiest hotel, but it is in one of the best locations for seeing old Dresden. The view from our room was breathtaking. The hotel staff were always very polite and helpful. And the room was spotless. We would return there in a flash!

This hotel was the most up-scale of all my hotels on this trip, yet very good value for money. The convenience to the tram (across the street) and the Old Town (5 minutes walk) was a plus. There is a superb restaurant; breakfast is not included, but well-priced for the amount you get. Staff helpful and everyone speaks English.

Hotel is a 10 min. walk from center of Dresden. Great location. One short block to trolly stop. Rooms are large, airy, with picture window views. At foot of one of bridges across river. We look forward to staying there again on our next drip to Dresden.

I found this hotel to be very convienent for walking to all historical sites in Dresden. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was huge, containing the usual German meats and cheeses. It also had a varity of fruits , cereal's and eggs either scrambled or boiled. We had dinner in the hotel restuarant two nights as we found it very good and better priced than the restuarents in the tourist area.

Das Äußere hatte mich tatsächlich abgeschreckt. Aber das Hotel war in nächster Nähe zu meinen Verwandten.
Ich wurde jedoch angenehm überrascht. Sehr freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal, schöner Blick auf die Elbe, meine Zimmer wäre auch für 2 Personen ausreichend gewesen, beim Frühstück gibt es sogar frische Waffeln. Alles ist auf kurzen wegen zu erreichen, Zustiegsstellen Weiße Flotte, Hopp on Bus schräg gegnüber. Die ÖPNV-Haltestellen \"Synagoge\" werden im Moment nicht angefahren. Nächte Haltestelle etwa 10-15 min. zu Fuß.

Sehr angenehmer Aufenthalt, komme wieder.

Das Haus war lt.Rezeption ausgebucht, damit viele Leute u. viele Fragen. Trotzdem war en die Mitarbeiter zuvorkommend, fachlich kompetent. Schade das Bar mit Ausschank nicht mehr in Betrieb ist.? Parkplätze sind nicht vorhanden, durch den Einsturz der Brücke ein noch größeres Problem was zu finden.

Es ist ein gutes Hotel um eine Nacht zu bleiben. Die Zimmer hatten alles was man braucht. Das Frühstück war auch in Ordnung und für jeden Geschmack was dabei. Allerdings fand ich es schade, dass es keinen Latte macchiato oder Cappuccino gab.

Es ist ein in die Jahre gekommenes Haus, aber wird gut gepflegt und macht einen sehr sauberen Eindruck. Sehr freundliches Personal, Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sind vorhanden,großes Plus ist die sehr geringe Entfernung in die Altstadt, wenige Minuten und man ist an allen berühmten Sehenswürdigkeiten.Minus sind fehlende Parkplätze, man muss sich einen in den angrenzenden Strassen suchen und bezahlen

Das Personal am Empfang war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Am Anreisetag erhielt ich den Hinweis für einen Parkplatz in der Nähe des Hotels. Auf Grund der Verkehrslage habe ich im Vorfeld die kürzeste Fahrtroute beschrieben bekommen. Sehr gut funktioniert.
Leider hat wurde mir an beiden Tagen so gegen 9.30 regelrecht der Teller und das Besteck vom Personal entzogen, obwohl bis 10.00 Frühstückszeit ist. Habe mich da sehr gedrängt gefühlt. Das Frühstücksangebot war sehr reichlich und es bestand viel Auswahl.
