We stayed in room #210 on February 28 th and we checked in late on our way to Miami. This room absolutely ruined our first night of vacation. At the very moment we entered the room there is strong smell of cigarettes and some other bad smells mixed with smoke!!!
It felt like suffocating and we had two kids with us all tired and exhausted with this horrible experience!!!Also the sofa bed was filthy with the ashes and some other white stuff which was not cleaned at all.
Also we don’t think the room cleaned since there are pieces of orange peels and m&m candy pieces laying on the floor when we entered there.
The only mistake we made was we didn’t ask for the room to get changed which the manager on duty said we should have done it and they would be able to get it done when we complained it about the next morning!!!
We booked the stay with Expedia after seeing 8.2 ratings!!!
Anyway we don’t recommend this one to anyone!!!!Really disappointed

Their heated indoor pool was the coldest pool I've. Ever been in. We picked between this hotel and another that both had pools for the kids and this was unfortunately a disappointment. It was like an ice plunge and the floor was extremely slick. The breakfast and the room was good though.

The rooms were nasty, not cleaned, bed sheets not washed and stains on them. Found hair strands near telephone. I changed 3 rooms that night and it’s the same story in all of them. It was almost midnight and couldn't move to another hotel. So, stayed there for a night and checked out.

The room was in fair condition. After wiping down all surfaces, I discovered counters as well as the toilet did not have proper cleaning. The room did have a smell upon arrival. Other than the cleanliness, the hotel was quiet which I liked. Loved the complimentary breakfast.

Traveling and stayed one night. Chose this hotel due to positive reviews from other previous travelers. It was clean, comfortable, and staff: friendly and helpful. The bed had a topper, and the pillows were well put together, which made for a great night sleep. The breakfast buffet was well maintained and had an attendant who actively inquired if there was anything they could do for us. When we checked in, the desk clerk helped us locate a good restaurant that we had read about online, something he took the initiative to do without our asking.

Would recommend this property to others. Have marked it in our book so fully intend to stay again.

I read the reviews and was quite surprised that no one talked about the hallway smell on the 3rd floor. Maybe no one got a room there??? Besides me…

The front desk check in was great.

We were given a room on the 3rd floor, from the 3rd floor elevator area to the hallway until the room there is a horrible smell throughout, smells like vomit mixed with something disgusting and you can’t avoid the smell throughout the hallway. You don’t smell it in the room which was a huge relief.
The room is spacious and seems to be clean.
The breakfast was mediocre at best and really on the lower end compare to other hotels we stayed in, like holiday inn, hampton inn, drury, etc’.
The floors, carpets looks very rundown and chair and tables in the breakfast area are extremely rundown.
The hotel was ok for one night, but the family voted to avoid this hotel in the future travel and we travel on yearly basis.
The area around the hotel was little dark, but the parking area was with satisfactory lighting if you come with car.
Unfortunately because of the severe vomit smells and the dirty hallway and rundown look and feel all around we will not go there again.
The owner should seriously consider investing in some maintenance and repair…

At check in and thru our entire stay Bryan was amazing! He was friendly, accommodating and even brought us extra blankets . He is a perfect person to have at the front desk makes the guest feel very welcome. Our room however was not very clean , the people before us must have a small child that spilt stuff all over the comforters and what we believe were boogers smeared on them and trail mix was everywhere under tables, on the side of the beds, in the Ac unit. The door between the bedroom and living area was filthy and some sort of food mixture at toddler heighth all over it. My grandson is very allergic to peanuts and our dogs found the trail mix right away so we had to spend a few minutes picking it up from all places it was spilt and had to clean the door off.
Our main concern was the dirty used comforters. We watched house keeping bring sheets in but never did they bring new comforters.
Bryan came to the rescue and brought us additional blankets and new clean comforters.
Breakfast was fresh, good and had a great variety.

The room we received was a handicap room. Everything in the room was low understandable for a handicap room. Unfortunately we are 5'8\" to 6'5\" so that was a problem due to our height. The carpet also smelled like dog urine. The staff was really nice. I know next time to request a non handicap room since we are taller.

One night stay for 2 people was excellent. Nice size room. Bed was comfortable with lots of pillows, room was quiet, towels were fluffy, and temperature was easy to adjust in the room. Shower was hot. Breakfast had decent variety. Refrigerator was a bit loud and was leaking, but was still ok. Nice dark room was good for sleeping. Lots of plugs for charging. Wish I had my own hair dryer though because not much air blowing from one they provide. Would stay again if I was in the area.

We made the mistake of getting into the freezing pool before realizing this. No big deal, but i would recommend either heating it, or closing it during the off season.

Front desk staff was so friendly though! Check in with Brian was an absolute pleasure.

Housekeeping was okay but I found an item in plain sight from a previous guest.

My weekend was for Friday-Monday. I called on Friday because I knew I was going to check in late due to traveling 6 hours, so I wanted to know if there were any additional deposits or what was the latest you can check in. I spoke with a younger man who said that there are no deposits/preauthorizations, the latest check in is 4am, but they can charge my card for a portion of the balance due and I would just pay the remaining at the hotel. I was like that's fine. They charged my card and I was under the impression that I would just pay the remaining balance at check in. No. I was charged the price of the full stay and the portion they took out. I understand if there were any additional deposits but when you tell a customer that they only have to pay the remaining....they should honor that. I ended up paying over $200 more for my room. They even provided me with receipts where I pointed out how the math on the receipts didn't even make sense. I tried to get help at the front desk several times and was met with \"The manager isn't here and will be here tomorrow\"...then every day we checked if they were in...of course he wasn't and nobody could provide us with a number to call or an email or anything. Extremely disappointed in my stay here. Will not be coming again and I don't recommend you do either. They don't care about your stay. They only care about your money.

Arrived late to a room without a flushing toilet. Though it did not appear clogged, night staff just gave us a plunger and told us she could not change our room. We had to go down from the 3rd floor to the 1st to use the restroom. Manager offsite the following day but authorized minor compensation that was then never provided. Manager does not return calls. We found out from staff that 6 rooms had plumbing problems that night and that there was a room available to move us to. Horrible experience. Be warned, they will not help if you have an issue.

Being that this is a location in NC, it would have been nice to be able to have an area that was an outside sitting area. Since it is not really SAFELY walkable to anything, the times where we were at the hotel, we just had to sit in our room. It would have been nice to have an outside seating area and maybe a gas fireplace or 2 for patrons to utilize.

Need to focus on cleaning!

The cleanliness of this hotel was really bad. Not one to usually complain but be warned. The smell coming into the lobby was not pleasant. The lighting is deem but I think it is to hide the fact that the floors and walls etc are not very clean. The first room we were given, as soon as you came in the smell was overwhelming. There was red stains which I can only conclude was throw up all over the carpet given the smell. The walls were dirty like someone had thrown things on them without cleaning up. The bathroom floor was so sticky I can’t imagine it was even cleaned. The sheets were stained and so were the curtains. You could tell someone partied a little too hard and no one cleaned it up. No way someone cleaned that room. I can’t tell you how disgusting it was. The second room was much better but it was right off the elevator and you could hear everyone coming up. I would not recommend staying here.

It was a decent enough stay overall. When I first arrived, no one was at the front desk for a long period of time to check us in around 10pm. A line started to form around the desk. I said \"hello\" loudly to get staff's attention and Brian came from down the hall with an attitude saying to stop yelling at him. That he heard whoever it was the first time, there was no need to continue. We all looked confused because I only said it once. After an exchange of blames, Brian realized that he never put his sign up saying that he would be back in a moment. We apologized to each other and understood each other's frustrations. The next day at the snack shop/store, the female working the desk had a nasty attitude towards myself and my friend as if we were bothering her because we stood at the window instead of walking around to the front desk. We just did not know and asking her got ignored. Other than that, the room was clean but freezing. The thermostat only moved 1 degree every so often. The pool was nice.

I have stayed here for the past 3 years when i visit my son in Charlotte and have never had an issue until this visit. There was horrible wi-fi service and it was beyond frustrating. My boyfriend was trying to do work and he couldn't and I couldnt access certain sites i needed. we were told 2 different things when we asked at the front desk what was going on. I paid a lot for the 3 night stay and was very frustrated!

Just a few notes off the top of my head. The floor in the bathroom was sticky, the room had a musty smell which you could only smell when you turned off the a/c. The beds were super soft, which I'm not a fan of because it causes me back pain. The breakfast buffet was good with a few options for everyone. The staff at the front desk (Brian) was very personable and helpful. The main let down was that the pool was closed which was one of the main reasons I booked this hotel.

Horrible Stay!

I think I'm just done staying with choice hotels! This is the pull out bed for tonight. Got this room so my oldest could sleep by herself, not she can't! Holes all over the mattress! I almost cut myself closing it! Floor in bathroom is so sticky! Refrigerator barely warm and the door to it is sticky! Human hair in the beds and towel! No do not disturb in the room for the door! And to and the bedroom door we figured out doesn't close because it's broke!I will never stay at a choice again!!! Thought I'd give a couple more try's but I'm done....
