I love the place be a of it location to all the tourists attractions and shopping. I’m just disappointed that they didn’t tell us anywhere online that they don’t open the aircon until Mid May so we had to request a fan for our stay. Thank weather was still cold.

Excellent stay

We request a quiete room on high floor and we had exactly what we have requested. We had a great warm and professional welcome by Nugzar that even if it was very late at night helped as with all the questions and requests we had. The room was nice and warm. We even had a view of the to Eiffel Tower. We had to ask for toilet paper and towels but nothing can be perfect . Everything we asked for was given to us..

Only one lift working, which given it's size is extremely inconvenient, only able to get one person with luggage in the lift, rooms extremely small for the price paid. The room I had, unfortunately was extremely noisy, could hear everything next door and above (showers, toilet etc), bathroom and room was extremely cold, no remote for the heating? Radiators do not work. Didn't have breakfast as there was no seating on the two occasions I came down. The hotel is located in a good location just bare in mind it's on top of a hill. Overall I'd say it's 2/3* with significant upgrades required.

The check in was effortless due to Nousgar’s efficiency and welcoming attitude. Hopefully I spelled his name right. He greeted us with a big smile which was so good to see after a long flight. I also want to mention Paula, Marie Ange and David’s assistance in regards to our specific sightseeing plans. Metro 2 Victor Hugo is its closest metro. Nearby is a Laduree, a bakery, a pharmacy and some boutique shopping options. The area around the hotel itself has diverse dining choices and a mini market at the corner. The hotel is walkable to the Arc de Triomphe and the Champs-Elysees. The room was small but enough for our 3 night stay, had a good size bathroom, the electric kettle with the tea and coffee packs provided is a relief after a full day out. I will certainly recommend this lovely hotel with their wonderful team.

Good safe choice for this area

Clean, comfortable, efficient a little bit anonymous but very convenient. Only issue was shower head slipping down the fixing bar, but this is such a common issue did not bother to report it.

I requested a double bed room with 2 beds, but when I arrived they gave me a room with one bed so I went to the reception and asked if I can have the room changed. The staff member said we changed the room and we don’t say sorry. I felt like maybe that was just a language barrier maybe she did not mean it this way, but she kept on trying to push to upgrade my room abd I refused. Then she gave me another room. Upon going into the room I found out that it was not clean; there were towels and garbage everywhere. So i went back to the staff and she kept on telling me check out and come later for a check in. After the third trail we had a room, but it was very inconvenient.

We stayed at Hotel Victor Hugo over the New Year period. Whilst the rooms were clean and breakfast was quite good. We had an incident occur on New Year's Eve. To our shock, we had another guest walk into our room at 2am in the morning by scanning their keycard. We raised this incident with the hotel staff and the manager, and they said they would look into the incident. After constantly checking in with the staff, we had no update and after checking out on our last day, they informed us that they could not find anything and the investigation was confidential and they couldn't tell us anything more. We stayed at this hotel for multiple nights and each night we were scared that someone would access our room. The front staff handled this well but the management clearly were not aware of the seriousness of this issue, that someone could access our room. We were not provided any form of compensation or assurance that no one else would access our room. It made our stay very uneasy and is a blip on an overall enjoyable trip.

Biggest thing for me when booking Paris was location as previously I’ve chosen the wrong location. This was perfect walking distance to arc de triumph and shops and restaurants too. Walkable distance to Eiffel Tower too but for those not so good on their feet a metro was round the corner which is easy to use and can get around whole of Paris city cheap.

Hotel staff were so friendly and helpful, and the hotel its self was immaculate, perfect rooms and cleanliness, very comfortable stay. Would absolutely book to stay here again.

Absolutely stunning property inside and out. The staff really went to great lengths to make our wedding anniversary special, with a warm welcome and box of chocolates upon arrival.

The rooms are HUGE and beautifully kitted out, and the beds are so, so comfortable.

The only very small negative was the tv volume was turned down too low to hear properly and you couldn't increase it. I understand not being able to have it too loud but this really was too quiet. Everything else was great.

Not sure if paying more than $500/night for this hotel is worth it. You would think for this price, water for two guests every day is included. Nope! The toiletries such as cotton, q-tips, etc.. were not replenished every day either. The location is nice due to safety and quietness. It is close to public transportation too. The Arc d' Triomphe and Eiffel Tower is close by too. Very tiny room but then again it is Paris.

Hôtel Hugo was perfect for our trip. There were so many places close by. It was easy to walk to the Eiffel Tower and the Arc De Triomphe. This whole area is very walkable and there are also plenty of grocery stores nearby.

I used the gym and the steam room. It was very nice to have that option.

The staff was very helpful and personable :)

This is a very good place to stay. Reception Service was very good, friendly , helpful and attentive staff. The room was very clean and comfortable . It was tastefully decorated light and airy with sufficient power points. We had breakfast every day here. Choice was good but overall could have been better, staff again were very friendly and attentive. The common areas were light and very well presented.

The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was lovely and clean, there was a hot drink of the Day To look forward to after a cold day out, room service was always really quick. The staff were absolutely TOP before we even arrived. Excellent with online and in person communication which helped us enjoy a fantastic visit that got off to a bumpy start before we arrived from San Diego due to weather delays, overnight airport stays and delayed luggage. Victor Hugo staff were key in retaining our reservation, accommodating us with a lovely room with a view, delivering luggage, etc. all with a professional and friendly charm that made our anniversary/birthday stay in Paris kick off perfectly. C’est Bon!!

Had a lovely stay, beds very comfortable, clean, location great, about 15 mins walk from arc de triomphe, champs elysees, eiffel tower etc, only downside was the road outside is quite noisy out front and as the room was quite warm we couldn't open window at night as too noisy and the air-conditioning is not used until mid may so a bit hot in the rooms but apart from that very good

Perfect stay

Fantastic art deco hotel, just a few minutes walk from the Metro, a myriad of restaurants and the Arc de Triomphe (perfect location given we went for New Years) Eiffel Tower and Bois de Boulonge are also within walking distance.
The hotel itself is exactly as advertised; welcoming, incredibly comfortable beds and great shower. The breakfast buffet offers a good selection and the luggage storage on the last day was really useful.
Finally, a hats off to all of the staff for being so friendly and accommodating. We would definitely return.

But the hotel is a bit dated. The bathroom is old and still has the old fashioned wall mounted hair dryer that does not dry your hair, small towels. It was OK for the price we paid, but this is a good 3*, not 4*.

If you don’t mind the noise room #19 is right next to lift & gated door that sort of slams. Also there is a lot of street noise very early in the morning.

They tried to charge me 50 Euros to check in a couple hours early - my room was ready, they just wanted me to sit quietly in their lobby. Strike one.

No temperature control, so summer stays are out.

Breakfast was the worst option in the neighborhood. Not worth it, but other options are around.

The staff was hit or miss. Some helpful folks, but I couldn't get past check-in. My room looked at an empty street. It's close to the Arc de Triomphe, but nothing else worth mentioning.
