The room was very noisy but real problem was the heating. It was cold. I checked in late and was very tired. So I slept. Then in early morning I wanted to take shower but no hot water. I waited at least 20 minutes for hot water. No luck. I had to take the shower with cold water in a cold room.

Hotel was good and staff friendly but the hotel needs an update. Carpet was worn and needs a deep clean. Cigarette butts outside my window. Only issue was very noisy neighbours on my last night. They started around 11pm and kept the noise going until 3am. Very convenient neighbourhood.

Doesn't look great from outside, but easy check in for fifth floor room that was very good. Comfortable beds, good shower and en-suite room, plenty of space, good television and tea/coffeee facilities. Some noise outside from trams - but honestly didn't disturb me. Would definitely stay again and very good value.

The hotel was very conveniently located. Basic amenities but everything was clean and comfortable. The weather was very warm so the room got warm as well without air conditioning. That was the only major drawback. The neighborhood is not beautiful but was safe and very convenient to the rail station. The staff were very helpful. I also appreciated the refrigerator selection of drinks that were very affordable.

Very close to the train station, clean, most of what you'd expect from a chain. Right on the road so earplugs needed - sound from the road so loud imagined is single-glazethough may be wrong. Service perfect. Some odd things: a wildly dysfunctional shower and kettle that could easily have been fixed, but which doused the entire bathroom and the desk with water respectively - a bit of basic maintenance needed. The smallest lift I've ever been in - a source of comedy and embarrassment - obviously little to be done about that without a major refit. Decor a peculiar mix of '80s woodchip and kitschy gold-framed Monet prints, '90s bland-blonde wood desk, and smarter and more recent bathroom fit-out. Staff themselves without fault. Cheap for a Best Western albeit with some reason.

Clean, safe, and close to the station.

Perfectly happy with what I got, given what I paid for it. The room was clean, bathroom new, but the carpet was a bit old and stained looking. Bed was clean and comfy. Furnishings were dated looking, but again, at its price point I have no problem with this. It was clean and functional, and fine for a few days. The neighborhood is not interesting - 5 minutes walk from the train station, down a nondescript street with construction opposite when I was there. Front desk staff were very nice and helpful. A but of a trek to the old town, but being so close to the station, a short journey ticket can get you there quickly. If the price is right, and you expect clean, reliable acommodation near the train station, this hotel fits that bill. I'd stay there again.

There are two train rails right by the property, very loud and noise. The fact there is no AC in the room forced us to open the windows!

The other thing is that the property is half renovated and half not, so we moved to another room trying to escape from the noise, but we moved to the non- renovated part yet, to it stinks.

Close to Hbf. First room we got was odd; ground floor through the restaurant. Couldn’t sleep well, then food smell from breakfast area as we wanted to sleep in after a long flight and train journey. After one night we were given a room that wa through doors and up steps; it wreaked of cigarette smoke on entering. We were promptly reassigned to another room. Very small but acceptable. The location is the only thing we really loved, but no German restaurants around; just Turkish and Asian.

Conveniently located near Dusseldorf Train Station

This is a convenient hotel to spend the night if you are traveling and need to be close to the train station. It serves the purpose. About 300-400 meters away from the entrance to Dusseldorf main train station. Bed is comfortable, bathroom is clean enough. As most european hotels, everything is relatively small. No air conditioning and the night I spend was a little too warm. However, you can open the window. Because of the carpet (I believe) the room is a little smellie. WiFi signal in my room was weak and slow.

Hotel stay spoiled by noise

Nothing wrong with hotel - a basic tourist hotel for a nights stay. Unfortunately it is opposite a railway line and teams run outside the hotel. We stayed there during a summer heat wave. Coupled with a lack of air conditioning we were faced with a no-win choice - either open the window for fresh air and try to sleep through the constant noise of trains and trams, or close the window and steam in the heat of the room.

Got the hotel for 2 night stay in Dusseldorf to watch the Arctic Monkeys at the Mitsubishi Arena.
Hotel is 5 min walk from the station and on a quiet street. Its about a 25 min stroll to the main strip of bars in the old town. The arena was also a 30 min walk too so saved cash on having to flag taxis

Great place to stay in central Düsseldorf

Had a great stay at BW Ambassador hotel. I arrived a bit too early but there was no problem getting my room. Location great - close to the railway station. On this site, it states that Wifi is available in public areas. This is not true. It is accessible everywhere - in the rooms too.
My room was towards the courtyard, which was great, but you could still hear and feel the trams passing by on the other side of the buildings, but it was no big deal and it was quiet at night.

Dont get the breakfast with your reservation.

I booked a stay at this hotel specifically with free breakfast. Unfortunately, when I checked in the clerk told me that I did not have free breakfast included in my reservation. In fact, she told me \"There is no way to book free breakfast via the internet!!! You must buy it here on site!\"

Aside from being near the train station, there's really no reason to book this hotel. The staff wasnt really all that welcoming. The room is just ok.

I booked this hotel because it was very close to the train station. The hotel was ok, but my window was facing the street and i could hear trains, at night i realised that i easily hear my neighbour talking - so walls were not so good noise isolated, neighbourhood a bit not nice at evening, hotels near by from the train station where i stayed before (direction downtown) had a better surrounding.

This hotel has a great location near to the train station. It is a fair walk to the city centre but there are some nice restaurants there, which are worth the effort. This hotel doesn't have air con, which can make your stay in the summer quite toasty.

Hotel is located right next train track, which was not a problem with me, although my room was facing to the other side. Room wasn't that big, but still small desk to work with, fridge, TV, with basic channels and nice comfy bed.

Excellent service upon arrival, receptionist had some good tips for a restaurants.

Room is ok, no English channels.

Staff are friendly in a fairly typical German way.

Over all worth a stay for the right money! I only paid a low amount so I feel it was worth it and I enjoyed my one night stay. Even better if breakfast included.

Staff are pleasant, and the breakfast is excellent. The experience suffered from noise (the noise from the street from the tram which goes alongside, but worse the noise from adjoining rooms. The walls are clearly very thin). The mattresses are very soft so not good for anyone (like my wife) with a bad back. We did not sleep well, but the breakfast cheered us up!

I have not been at this hotel for a year, and on my return it seems that their is new management. I was comfortable with the past management which kept me coming back based on the relationship. My first request to change room was turn down which did not sit well with me, but overall the staff were very nice!

Appalling behaviour of manager

Stay was very good first day but was completely destroyed by the actions of the most senior staff member, the manager. She had decided to move me from my room to another room without notice. This meant moving all my personal items - clothing, toiletry, etc. which of course was not packed as such a situation has never occurred to me before. I am not sure who handled my personal goods, how it was handled. It was a major invasion of privacy before even considering why a room change would be made.

I can only guess as to the room change that the manager may have had a complaint from what she considered was a regular or more important customer about their room (hotel was full) and she has decided to move me to the inferior room. The room I was moved to was old, smelly and generally not very pleasant.

I have made a complaint to Best Western as I believe this is not their normal policy but given the immoral nature of what happened, I have requested action against this person. I would advise however people not to use this hotel as no one should support this kind of discrimination.

The unruly manager

I returned on the second day evening to find that my card does not work. I asked at the front desk to reset my card. The very friendly person at the front desk does so. I go to my room and when I open the door, someone is moaning inside. I go back down to explain to the receptionist. She checks and the Manager has changed my room moving all my personal items - clothes, toiletry and bags to another room. Too late to argue and person was very friendly. I go to the new room. Much worse than the first room, smelly, old, unclean.

The manager had decided not to come to work the next day but I can only guess what could have happened. Most likely, the person who is in my old room complained about the quality of a room, perhaps a regular customer. This woman has decided to change for my room, throwing me in the substandard room.

I will make an official complaint to Best Western. However, I would suggest to people reading that this type of behaviour is beyond the minimum standard of respect to a customer, let alone a human being and would urge people not to stay in this hotel until this person has been called up and removed for this atrocious behaviour.

We had a double booking for this hotel on the same night.
I booked the hotel and then also my clients secretary booked the hotel
Both bookings were prepaid and non-refundable

there was no mercy from the hotel - they accepted two bookings and two payments and refuse to refund one of the payments

To me - this was a genuine case and they could see that two bookings had been made
this cost me personally (as it was my mistake)

Arrived at the end of a protest, so access was limited due to Police Vans etc.. Hotel isn't so bad, but the area around was a bit dirty/seedy (not helped by arriving at night). Very close to the station and comfortable for a sleepover and catching an early train the next morning.

Hotel basic but fairly priced and well located for the station.

I was in room 612. Quite noisy with trams outside. The room was quite cold, and worse I was woken in the middle of the night by a constant dripping noise. After many minutes of thinking about it, I had to get up and tracked it down to the radiator - the only way to silence it was to turn it off - very cold room by the morning but I got some sleep at least.

The staff were lovely.

The staff were ever so helpful, they could have done no more to make my stay enjoyable. The single room was small but OK, it did the job. There was always fresh coffee available in the lobby, a must for me in the mornings. Breakfast was good, lots to pick from. The real problem was parking, very little space at the back or trying to find parking on the street when arriving..

We have been many times at the Ambassador and find it a clean well managed hotel with very friendly and helpful staff.

It is a pity, but we are sure that there are similar observations from other clients.

Stayed for a week. Stayed on the front room for one night and it was terrible as 5 trams pass every hour. Then moved to back room for the rest of the week and there was almost no noise.
Two of the receptionist were nice, the other two needs to find different carrier. The were rude.
Location unsafe at night... rats in the opposite parking space!!!
Their parking lot fit 6 cars only.
They are smoking-free hotel, yet on expedia there is an option to request smoking room. The name of this is misleading.

Professionally run hotel near the train station

Like so many others, I booked this hotel because I had an early morning flight out of the airport, and this place is a short walk to the train station and S-Bahn that takes you to the terminal. It was exactly what I expected, so I was happy with my short stay. The bed was pretty comfortable and there was a minibar under the TV. For the room rate I paid, I was pleased with this chain hotel and the helpful staff. The train station is about 4 minutes away on foot, but the city center isn't too close.

We arrived at 1 AM and the only room left was not what we expected; however, the staff moved us next day to excellent room. Close to train station and breakfast is best we have had in 3 star (maybe even 4 star). Neighborhood a bit scary at 1AM on Saturday nite, but you walk right by police station if you stay to left on sidewalk exiting station. Looked a lot better in daylight.

Location was perfect for our trip as it was 3min walking distance to the main train-station. The hotel staff were friendly, polite and happy to help with any of our questions. Our rooms were ok as we had 3 (group travel), bright, airy and good sized fully openable windows! The bathrooms were spotless with great showers which you could actually turn around in! The straight forward continental breakfast was fine with plenty on offer. We never experience any problems really just watch out for the very powerful showers and the unwanted gather of water in the shower tray!!!!!

Basic, functional and cheap. Does the job but in no particular style. The room was big and clean, but some of the fittings were on the cheap side and the overal effect was one of over-grown B&B rather than \"Amabassador\". Breakfast was OK; limited choice but filled you up. Location is good for the station but its a bit of a walk to the Altstadt which is where you really want to be if you want a beer or a meal.... Having said all that, the hotel was in a quiet street and the staff were very friendly and helpful so I'd stay there again if distance to the station was my main concern.

Plain & functional, good value for the price.
Breakfast included & plenty to choose from.
Room was tidy and pretty spacious.
Staff was friendly but we did need to ask for things such as maps & directions without being offered. So the staff didn't really make any sort of recommendation of any sort for visitors.
The hotel is near the main railway station, good base if you want to visit places such as Cologne by train.
Not near the old town, but the distance is walkable.
Shopping nearby.

Best hotel in Dusseldorf

This is no doubt the best hotel I have ever stayed in, the staff are friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean and tidy, the breakfast is more than adequate. We arrived about midnight but there was still afriendly helpful person on the desk who made the whole experience of checking in a pleasure. The staff could not do enough for you all the way from the management to the lady who cleaned our room. Another plus was the mini bar in the room with drinks that cost no more than the hotel bar and this was restocked every day. The hotel is situated less than 3 minutes walk from the main train station, underground, trams and buses but is quiet at night. Recommend this to anyone going to Dusseldorf.

3 star hotel in Dusseldorf

Very pleasant for a 3 star hotel. All of the staff were most pleasant and helpful. They even let guests use their office internet and bring you a cup of coffee and cookie while using it.

Older, yet clean and well maintained. There is very little free parking, but there is still free parking. The free breakfast is good and there are several item to choose from.

A Nightmare!!!!

The hotel is clean and comfortable UNTIL the water pipes kick in at 4.00am and clunk away for a couple of hours. So, if you can sleep through that AND the noise coming from both sides, above and below you because the walls are so paper thin, you'll be fine!!

Eine Super Unterkunft im Preis Leistungsverhältnis, aber abends mag man irgendwie nicht raus gehen da der Bahnhof direkt gegenüber liegt und Junkies und obdachlose nur so Strotzen vor vergnügen ,Die Straßenbahn fährt direkt vor dem hotel lang inklusive einer gut befahrenen Straßen isz das ganze Ab und an Sehr laut. Am ende ist es schön gut und sauber man ist gut angebunden und man kann wenn man gewisse abstriche macht auch für kleines Geld dort übernachten.

Zu empfehlen ist ein eigenes Kopfkissen mitzunehmen da die auf dem Bett vor ort wie ein Luftballon sind und man am ende in einen 90 grad winkel schläft.
