Nice hotel with great staff throughout. Breakfast was good.

There are too few electrical outlets, and the location are not too convenient to use in relation to the desk, side table, bed -- recommend to bring an extension cord.

Unfortunately one resident on my floor chose to smoke daily, but luckily only the halls were filled with smoke -- didn't reach my room. We informed the front desk and they assured us they would address it quickly.

The stay was okay - staff were friendly. Cleaner didn't speak english but not really an issue. The rooms were very dated, the bed was OK, there were only two sockets in the room (one for the tiny TV) and the other hidden behind a side table. Highlight of the stay was the free sweets at reception.

Location wise - it's in the business district of Barcelona, but a short walk to local shops/supermarket and taxi ranks to travel in to the city. Overall, for the price it wasn't bad but I wouldn't stay here again.

NH Hotel Encenza was conveniently located for all our travels in Barcelona and for the day trips we made from Barcelona Sants and from Espanya. The staff were very friendly and helpful and always pleasant.

We booked two rooms during our stay - one for us and the other for our children. The rooms were spacious though the interiors were a bit in need of TLC - with scuffed walls and wood panels that protruded. But the room rate was reasonable. Our children complained that the water pressure in their shower was weak.

We were slightly disappointed not to have coffee/tea amenities in the room. And on the day of our departure, despite several efforts by the very nice lady at the front desk, we waited 25 minutes but weren't able to get a taxi to collect us. Instead we had to take our luggage and walk 2 blocks to the main road to hail a cab at random.

Fortunately, it was sunny during our entire stay.

A quiet place in Barcelona

It is located about 15 min walk from the main train station in a quiet residential area, not too far from 2 metro stations. There are very few small restaurants around.I was pleased with the hotel quality and standards. Front desk people were friendly and very helpfull.

Great hotel - location is very near Metro Station- excellent breakfast, the staff are very courteous and willing to help.

Hotel is well maintained and there is daily housekeeping services.

There are many supermarkets around to buy food items.

The breakfast is worth the money. Well presented with many assortments to choose from .

We had an enjoyable stay in this hotel. Our room was okay ( not too small) and clean.The staff were helpful and friendly special mention to Sonia and Mirasol. The area wherein the hotel is located is just 10 minutes walk from Sants station ( convenient if you're coming from Madrid via train) and there were other metro stations nearby that will help you to go to nearby tourist attractions.

Three night stopover in Barcelona

Very good hotel in quiet residential area. Great beds and very quiet overnight even though there was an end of summer weekend celebration with events all over the city and public holiday on Monday. Also, quiet considering the referendum vote was taking place on the following Sunday. One member of staff was very helpful with advising on purchase of metro tickets (book of 10 trips) rather than the 2 day unlimited pass. Depends on number of trips/number of people but for 3 of us it saved about 20 euros over a 3 night stop.
here is a bar and lounge area behind reception but we never used it or saw it in use. Would stay there again if visiting Barcelona. T

Wondering Stay- go for it

We stayed for 4 days in Barcelona. Two days of which were day trips to Monserrat & Figures. Barcelona Sants was therefore the obvious choice. Also since we were away from the Ramblas, we could get good value rates for the Hotel. After all the Ramblas was just 1 metro ride away. Excellent hotel -10 min from MainTrain Station. Good neighbourhood with Carefore just 2 Min away. We did not take breakfast view good eating joints nearby

A average hotel in a nice location

The hotel is in a great area, close to the local metro or about a 30 minute walk to the main tourist area (La Ramblas). Our room was comfortable but lacked a few touches (like a kettle) that would have made it a slightly nicer stay. The room we stayed in needed a little maintenance as the bathroom was looking well used and the plugs were hanging out of the wall. The staff were very helpful and the room was clean. This hotel is great if you are just using it as a base and you don't want 5 star facilities. We stayed 4 nights and it was an ideal base for us.

Great value with smoking issues

It was a smoking room, and it should not have been. Even after putting some perfume on it, it was still a smoking room. We left the window open for the complete day and when we returned, it was still a smoking room (and not a room in which somebody had accidentally smoked as kindly told by the front desk). We had not booked a smoking room and I had a cold, which made for a rather unpleasant experience. We understand that we booked an inexpensive room, but we did not book a smoking room. Otherwise, great price, value, location, neighborhood, service, etc.

Location is my only issue... I didn't find anything interesting in the surrounding neighborhood (or good restaurants), and the walk to the nearest metro stop (about 8 minutes and need to cross a busy street) was a downside.
But once you get to the metro station you're only a few stops from everything!

Comfortable room, quiet area, good WiFi

The room itself was great. We (couple) stayed in Spain a week, and this room was by far the most quiet and had the most comfortable bed (King). The neighborhood itself is quiet, which helped. The hotel is not too far from two metro stops and the airport train, but if you have big bags, then it's not so convenient (we flew in and out of Barcelona, and we opted for airport cabs). Allow 15 min. to walk to the metro, which was easy. There are a couple of lines. One goes directly to Sagrada Familia, the other goes directly to La Rambla. Also, easy to change stops if going right into the heart of town. The WiFi at the hotel was also fine, even in the room. The English-speaking staff was great. Like most hotels in Spain, the night-desk person might or might-not speak English, but the day staff was fluent and professional.

Great location

Great location as it is within blocks of the main train station. Also, it is a close to walk to the metro to get you to the main attractions of Barcelona if you prefer not to walk. Loved the neighbourhood as it is away from the busy touristy places and there are some good local spots for a coffee or a meal. The staff were super friendly and provided us with a map and information when we checked in, which allowed us to get going immediately. If you arrive early or decide to leave later after check out, they will store your luggage for you.

The hotel is very close to Diagonal street and Sants station where you can get anywhere with the subway, plus has a train to the airport.

Very clean.
Only problem: air conditioning, so I wouldn't recommend it if it's too hot outside.

A pleasant place to stay

Stayed at this Hotel at the end of June 2015.

The hotel is clean and quiet. Room I had was quite small but was adequate for my needs (somewhere to sleep and wash whilst spending most of the day exploring Barcelona). Amenities included air conditioning (free), a mini-bar fridge, free WiFi and a TV with English news channels.

Staff on reception were very helpful on recommending places to see and go in Barcelona and they can even offer a small discount on a range of attractions. They were always happy to answer any questions.

The location of the hotel is a fair distance from the City Centre but it is very close to Sants Estacio Metro station (about a 5-10 minute walk) and Barcelona does have an excellent, efficient, Metro system. It also means getting to the hotel from the Airport is easy as the train from the Airport goes straight to Sants. Travelling time to La Rambla from Sants is roughly 10-15minutes so not too bad.

There are a few supermarkets around the hotel which means getting supplies of snacks and water is easy but I found there is not a great range of Restaurants and found myself having to go further afield to eat.

If shopping is your thing there is a large shopping centre about 10 minutes away on foot that has a wide variety of shops.

All in all I found it to be an pleasant place to stay for the price and enjoyed my time in Barcelona.

Upgrade to Junior Suite

Arriving in the morning, it was too early for the 3pm check-in. Options to check luggage in hotel office or upgrade to an available junior suite, we were too exhausted to start touring on a rainy day. We took the upgrade and were delighted. After a rest we walked to the Hop On, Hop Off bus and made the best of the rainy day. Hotel staff was very helpful in all ways. The Sants metro station is reasonably close and several subway lines connect at that point.

Comfortable hotel near main station

This was our first experience of an NH chain hotel. We arrived late as our flight had been delayed, the hotel was a little difficult to find. Although it was close to the main station it was in a nice quiet street with a small bar right next door - no proper bar in the hotel. The male receptionist was rather formal checking us in but we did receive all the necessary information. We booked breakfast for the first morning cost 8.80 Euro ( if booked at check in) because we couldn't face the hassle of getting up and going out without knowing the area. The breakfast was a buffet and well worth the cost it kept us going until 2-3 in the afternoon!

Our only negative about our experience was that we were given a room right behind the lift shaft - this did not become apparent until during the night and early morning we were often disturbed by the lift being used by residents (there didn't seem to be any stairs). We didn't ask to have a different room - as we were only there 3 nights - but we would if we were there again.

I stayed in NH sants hotel in Le Corts for 6 nights and it was very nice hotel,close to the metro station L3 line (sants Estacio) which is around 4 stops from catalunya station in the center of the city .Also ,the room was very clean ,very quite location and very comfortable.The staff was very nice and helpful .The breakfast was so beautiful and elegant and not missing anything.I do recommend everybody going to barcelona to stay in this hotel.

We checked in early, and our \"standard room\" wasn't ready. We were offered an upgrade to a suite for a reasonable price. Unfortunately, the air conditioning didn't work in the room, despite their efforts to fix it. The hotel is quite basic;. we chose it because it was close to the train station, but there are other closer, better hotels. There is no bar nor restaurant - there is a breakfast area, but we thought we would eat at cafes outside the hotel. Unusually for Barcelona, this part of the city does not offer a big range of great little cafes, bars, and restaurants.

My friend and I stayed in this hotel on my first trip to Barcelona. Everything was very clean. Is very close to Sants station. The only issue that I had is that taxi drivers kept getting it confused with the NH Numancia which is only a couple blocks away. Make sure that you have a map at hand when getting cabs because no driver knows where this hotel is. Everything else was amazing at this hotel and cheap too.

Lovely hotel in the heart of BCN, just round the corner from the central hub of Sants Estacio. Upon arrival, we were made to feel welcome. The very helpful receptionist (Pierpaolo) gave us maps upon check-in and pointed out the main Metro stations, places of interest and where locally to eat that was good. He helped us the second day by offering to purchase tickets to local attractions (they get a discounted rate). Basically, he saved us from much confusion, so I cant say thank-you enough. The hotel was spotless, and although the amenities were basic, they covered everything we needed.

We chose this hotel for its proximity to the Nou Camp, a 10 min walk, or 2 Metro Stops away.
Nice and quiet in a safe area, with many restaurants within a few hundred yards.
The Hotel was spotless, All staff were so friendly,plus free Wifi available also.
I found it a little difficult to find the metro stop initially, but got it right as we were leaving.
An Excellent Breakfast was available.
The only slight moan i have was that the Room did not have a safe.
I obviously missed that before i booked.
This meant that i had to carry all my money at all times, which is always a little daunting whilst on the Ramblas.

Otherwise, i can fully recommend it.

A liitle way out

Some way from connecting transport. The restaurant was closed from 31st August for evening meals. The doors to the bedrooms had to be pulled hard to close and slammed every time. Most annoying when people came in later than you. We could also hear the lift going up and down, at night and early in the morning.
The breakfast was excellent and if booked in advance, on arrival, was only 8Euros instead of 16Euros. It was a buffet breakfast and catered for all tastes and you could have whatever you wanted.
Would e ok for people who were fit andactive as walking would not be a problem to them. The staff were faultless and exceedingly helpful.

Best deal for my budget

The hotel is very good in conditions, location and price. It is a three star hotel with the rent of a hostel. The hotel is near the main station where you can go to all tourist attractions and connect to all kinds of transportation. I guess it also depends on the season and how early in advance you make the booking before you travel. I booked 2 months before I start my trip in July. Generally, I am satisfied about my staying in this hotel.

Quiet and out of the way

Staying here worked great for my sister and I. It is within 15 minutes walking to the Sants station, even with luggage. Room is clean and staff are helpful as well as friendly. Grocery stores are close by for water bottles and small snacks. Decent restaurants within the residential area. It was nice to come back to after a day in the more crowded areas of Barcelona. Never felt unsafe walking at night. The room is a little small but we were fine and the bidet and toilet were a little too close together which made gettting in and out of the tub difficult. Luckily we are both small people:) FYI: Wifi only in the lobby, not in the rooms. Would stay here again!

Loved the hotel for the price, and the area around was a 7 min walk to the metro. A quiet area, but close enough to the city to still be in the action. we would definitely stay there again.

Comfy hotel gets the job done

Small, friendly hotel with sizeable rooms. Didn't love the decor but that didn't really bother me much. Our room faced the street which was not a problem noise-wise since the area is pretty quiet. The neighborhood is nice and is within walking distance to almost everything: Parc Guell, Montjuic, Sagrada Familia, Las Ramblas, royal palace... they are all long walks (30-45 minutes) but scenic. They're all quick trips by metro, too (7 minute walk from hotel to metro). If you are arriving/leaving by train, Sants is very close to the hotel, which is convenient.

My only complaint is the noise from other rooms, particularly slamming doors, but I am a light sleeper and it didn't bother my traveling companion.

good rooms but not so convenient location

POSITIVE SIDES: Quiet, comfortable and large rooms, good room amenities, good selections of grocery stores nearby, safe area. NEGATIVE SIDES: 15-20 mins walk from Sants Station (not convenient for those travelling with luggages), free wifi internet is only available in hotel lobby/breakfast area, no kettle/hot water in room
