I really dont know how I was charged $280 for one night for an experience that was very underwhelming. The A/C in the room sounded like a racecar getting started up, so hard to sleep through that. Out of the 4 elevators that were available ONLY 1 WORKED and we were on the 11th floor so stairs were out of the picture. There was food all down the hallway of our floor and the bathrooms on the main floor smelled like they had never been cleaned. I know its not possible but a refund would be amazing and probably the only way I will ever give my business to a Wyndham ever again.

I paid almost $300 for 1 night. The lobby was nice but the room was that of maybe a super 8 motel. The bed squeaked, toilet ran all night and the shower had cracked and broken tiles not at all what was expected and not worth what I paid for the night on top of having to pay an additional $15 to park.

Only 1 of 4 elevators was working for 12 floors. And even it was sketchy at times. One ice machine was down. You can't adjust the AC from 68°. And our door didn't latch. We had to use the bolt to keep it closed all night

The hotel was fine, but not great. The pictures on the site felt like they were taken of a model room and definitely not the room we got.

There was a target receipt in our window and the room smelled strongly of vanilla and slightly of weed, like someone was trying to mask the smell.

My biggest complaint is that the bathroom door had been replaced with a "barn door" style door with an inch gap that let sounds and smells pass freely into the main room.

Door wouldn’t work to the room so they gave us a different room and it was a downgrade that smelled funny. The water in the shower barely got warm and then was cold within 2 minutes. The door not working and room change caused us to be late to the concert we were there for. The website and phone in the room advertising room service but they don’t offer room service so I went to the restaurant to order breakfast and it took over an hour to get the food. And when I got it back to the room the order was wrong . I was very unimpressed with the service and the hotel

We were happy to be able to check in early. The walls are very thin. The neighbor and room was very loud. I think this has to do with the fact that there is no carpet in this hotel, not in the rooms or in the hallways.
The room was nice large, spacious, and comfortable.
Due to the better chain of hotels I was disappointed there was not a shuttle service to the downtown area.

The lobby reeked of marijuana. The man at the front desk told me to hold on because he had something to do on the computer even though there were no other guests around and he wasn’t on the phone. Then he gave me a key card that didn’t work, and was super annoyed when I asked for one that worked.

We had a pleasant stay at The Wyndham. It’s a very bare bones hotel. It’s old and could use an upgrade. That being said, the bed was very comfortable, towels were amply supplied, large and soft. Better towels than some 4-5 star hotels we’ve stayed in! Staff were very friendly and helpful. We only ate breakfast in the hotel restaurant, but the waitress was lovely! Plenty of really cheap options for breakfast and it was delicious. The area doesn’t have much immediately surrounding it, but it’s a quick walk to downtown and lots to do and see. Some pretty decent restaurant options within walking distance as well. All in all, we had a nice stay.

Bed bug bites, dirty used rag in the bathroom, stains on all the blankets and sheets, chipped paint in the unclean bathtub, and hair in the sheets and shower. I cleaned the countertops with a Lysol wipe and scraped off dried caked debris.

A wholly adequate, unremarkable hotel that is within walking distance of downtown. It's an older hotel that is well maintained but short on amenities. $15.00 to park in their lot. um...OK. Room was nice, clean & comfortable but wow, there were some noisy guests that night. On-site restaurant seemed closed during our stay which is fine but....odd. Would we stay again? Eh, I think we'll spend a few more bucks and get something a bit more accommodating and guest friendly.

Our room was not cleaned. When we arrived there was a soiled rag left in the bathroom. The maid service emptied the trash but did not make up our bed. The desk when we checked in was v helpful as was the fellow at the desk on Tuesday afternoon/evening. Overall my impression is that maintenance of this hotel is not a priority for this chain.

We are repeat customers! It's clean, quite and safe.
However the lid on the ice bucket was missing and the mini refrigerator was missing a leg some how! It rocked and almost fell over on my husband foot. They did come quickly and added something underneath it to balance it. The young man also did find a lid for the ice bucket.

If this review was about the staff, it would be 5 stars. About the material condition of the hotel, it would be 1 star. The staff is exceptional, but the hotel has more problems than they can contend with. The location is really good, the bedding is very comfortable, and parking is less expensive than downtown, and relatively safe. The 1st room they gave us had broken air conditioning, with no hope of an easy repair. The 2nd room was a smaller room, with a broken safe, a broken room phone, and a running toilet. The breakfast was really good. Typical hotel rates for a drink in the bar...you know...same cost for 2 shots as for the whole bottle at the ABC store...

Would I stay here again? I dunno. Location wise, parking wise, best in town. But all the broken items (plus 2 of the 4 elevators were broken) really lowers your review, and no amount of compensation (and we got plenty of compensation) will completely fill that disparity. If I returned to Norfolk to go to the Scope Center I would probably stay again, but this time, with my eyes wide open...

Room was fine. Location was excellent and parking was great. We stayed here since we were attending the Va Tattoo. Since one of us was not very mobile, it was helpful to have a restaurant in the hotel for breakfast and one dinner. We stayed three nights during the recent 90+ degree heat wave and the AC struggled with it. WiFi did not seem great as connecting some devices was difficult or did not work. The biggest complaint was only partially the hotel's problem. At checkout time there were no luggage carts to be found and we had to wait a while before we were able to bring our stuff down from our room. The breakfast staff were friendly and helpful.

We only stayed 1 night to attend a banquet being held locally, the room was quite large and easily accommodated 4 adult women with a sitting room which was an added bonus. The elevators were quite loud and felt shaky but worked fine. The front desk was exceptionally friendly and helpful.

This place is absolutely disgusting! The hotel bathtub and sinks have a yellow ring and dripping faucets, the walls are so thin you can hear people simply talking, the door handles to the closets were barely hanging on by a thread with loose screws showing, the fire detector was outdated and not up to code standards, the hallways had a filthy smell, and the elevators had rigidity doors which barely operated as if they were going to break down. My son and I had a terrible experience. We even requested to move to another room and afterwards, the same conditions were observed on a completely different floor in another room. This is truly unacceptable. This was completely false advertising. The photos and ratings do not match the quality of the property. STAY AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Staff was rushing and communication was poor. Even though it was refunded I was charged for something I without knowing the amount nor that it was charge. Wasn’t aware i had to purchase a parking pass and I also had to ask the price of that because she just swiped my card for it. Not only that the property was very noisy and had a weird smell. I couldn’t sleep comfortably and the light in the room was too much that next morning. Blackout curtains would’ve been great but they had sheer curtains. It wasn’t work the price paid for one night

Our room had a horrendous smell that burnt our eyes, gave us a headache, short of breathe and caused dizziness. We got our room switched which didnt have a smell, while waiting at the desk several other people said they wanted put in a complaint. The elevators were treacherous, they dont post the elevators certificate just a sign sayimg ask at the desk, it rattled like crazy, the doors open before being stopped. Plus i paid 85. To park! I will not go back and will be contacting the corporation and the owner of the location

It was a nice location with great parking and also rooms was a nice size. The disadvantage and negative review comes from the floor they originally put me on smelled of a smoke smell. The floors were dirty and the room was just not properly cleaned. They moved me to another floor which was better but the walls were so thin you could hear ppl in the rooms next to you and people walking down the halls. The hotel just had a smell too it that didn’t smell good. I really think if they invest in a better maintenance and housekeeping this place would be much more decent.

Idk whete to start....even though our rooms were done. They didnt allow anyome to check in until 4pm which cause the line to become long ams had every one waiting over an hr to check in before another receptionist came out to help! Alot of guest showed up at the sametime it was a disaster! Then we get to our room and tv was busted with lines through it. We called down to front desk and before I could finish. They cut me off and said someone will be up there, then hung up in my ear! All of this happened over Valentines weekend! The maintence man came and gave me two options switch rooms or swap tvs. We were already comfortable and unpacked so I told him swap tvs, he never came back. The next day the head maintenance guy came to check on the situation. He saw the guy never came back and extended an apology and swapped out the tv for a new one. He was very nice! After preparing for our day, we notices scratch marks on our floor and a empty shampoo bottle in the shower. We ignored the scratch marks because we were just over it but we asked housekeeping and front desk to fill our body wash bottle and no one knew who did it let alone ever got it done! Three times I asked and they just brushed it off. Bad experience, staff with 0 care for their guest....I will never go back to that hotel again

This was a horrible experience! We walked in and there is loud construction going on in the middle of the night in the lobby but that was not the bad part! There were 3 roaches in our room’s bathroom! 3 of them at different times it was so nasty and there was hairs all in the shower and on the bed! Then check out was at 11 and some worker came and banged on the door at 10:20 and said we had to leave immediately and she was so rude we were on the 6th floor and it was so nasty and not a nice hotel! Oh and only 1 elevator works there so it takes forever to get anywhere! No one should stay here it’s gross and the staff is horrible!

Clean room; Very accomodating staff - we came in late and they were so kind. They also offered a microwave as we had a baby with us and needed to warm her bottles. They were very warm and friendly especially since it was over the Christmas holiday. Tracy & Shadreka in the 700 Bistro restaurant were very considerate and went above & beyond - even got me fresh lemon slices and honey for a sore throat. I am so grateful for the care and attention to detail including fresh fruit-infused water at the front desk. And the housekeeping staff was always cleaning up the lobby! Plus Ms Brenda at the desk was super informative (helped me to find restaurants that were open Christmas Day plus other relevant info). Really good stay; thank you!

The staff was kind and helpful. However, the shower curtain and tiles were falling out of the wall. The walls were so thin that we were kept up all night by people literally screaming in the hallways and coming in at 3:30 and partying all night. It’s for sure a party hotel and I would not recommend anyone with kids stay here. We were not able to sleep the two nights we stayed which meant my daughter was too tired to enjoy Disney on ice.
