I must say I was a little disappointed. I thought that this would’ve been a fancier hotel the way it was advertised. It seems like a lot of the furniture is old and not updated and it’s just really OK. It was not what I had expected.

I booked three mini-suite rooms for myself and my family. We arrived at the hotel reception at 2:00 PM, and despite having completed online early check-in, it took a very long time to receive our room keys. We waited over an hour in a crowded and chaotic line, with shouting and frustration, as the front desk was staffed by only one experienced employee (ETI) and two new staff members who were clearly untrained and overwhelmed.

One of the rooms we received had a filthy shower. It was impossible to reach the front desk by phone—calls were routed through an automated system that eventually transferred to a human call center, but even after six attempts, they couldn’t connect us to the reception. The phone just rang endlessly with no answer. To speak with someone, we had to physically go down and wait in line again.

At breakfast, my daughter was alone with her two small children. She asked a waiter for help bringing a tuna salad for one of the girls. The waiter initially agreed, but after 20 minutes, when she asked again, he began yelling at her, saying he wouldn’t bring her anything and that she shouldn’t ask him again. He humiliated her in front of other guests and frightened the little girls, who started crying because someone was shouting at their mother.

I absolutely do not recommend this hotel.

Situated in a quiet area of the Marina, 5 minute walk from the Restaurant Area and perfectly situated between two beaches either side of the Coast.
A Majestic view of the Sunset can be witnessed on the Sea Defences adjacent to the hotel.

It’s NOT a hotel. It’s a very well located, quiet condo. The room was small with a limited kitchen.
No restaurant but there’re many close by. Do you have access to a good pool, laundry and all of those kind of services. But you don’t have any hotel services to speak of. Ilan Tal was a good experience and I would do it again.

We checked in to the hotel and in our first use of the faucet in the bathroom we found that the floor was flooded with water. We immediately reported the issue to the hotel front desk. Nothing has been done. We went out and comeback and still no fix. We had to put a lot of towels on the floor.

We thought the rooms we had could use an update. The shower was worn black marble and the grouting had obviously been done over many times. We had no hot water in the bathroom sink our entire stay of 2 1/2 days. We also wished we could have opened our windows. They were locked and we missed having fresh air instead of the air conditioner, especially in the evenings when it was not as hot as during the day. The pool area also needs a makeover. It was simply not an attractive area. On the positive side, the breakfasts were spectacular and the staff was helpful and gracious.

Whatever problem I have with the hotel doesn’t even matter cause I hope you’re gonna be smart enough not to book this place to begin with I have a problem with Expedia taking a very long time to process my full refund promised by the hotel and acknowledged by Expedia but somehow I still didn’t get my money after canceling upon arriving to the hotel because of the low level and completely different from what was represented on the Expedia website This is becoming a bad habit with problems with Expedia constantly with booking and with location not matching descriptions

Many issues, here are a few of them:
1. During the stay, cleaning staff stole a large sum of money from our room. Hotel have not follow up or tried to help us investigate the matter. We filled police report and police took it seriously.
2. No security on the premise. You can walk directly form the street to any room you want without using a key nor meeting any security
3. Pool is not working, despite the fact, that it was written on the website that April 1st is day of opening.

The cleanliness was good, I can’t complain there. But the staff was horrific. There was nobody around, and anybody who was around just looked blankly when we requested anything. We had to go into the restaurant to have a waitress contact the receptionist for her to come out to the front desk where we had been waiting. They told us we weren’t entitled to the rooms with a view since we had children with us so we had to settle for a view of buildings instead. And of course nobody notified of this when we booked otherwise we obviously wouldn’t have booked a hotel on a beach/marina in order to look at the buildings behind. The experience was a far cry from a 5 star hotel and especially from Herods Eilat which is the reason I had been wanting to come here to begin with. Highly disappointing.

We did like the fact that we had no view. We did not like the fact that it took almost 1 hour to check in... thus missing the first day at the beach. We believed we had a ground floor with a walk out.. garden of some kind... but were closed in.. not that and not a balcony from our 2nd floor room. Also.. it was virtually the farthest room from the elevators!!

The staff at this hotel are exceptional particularly in sorting out anything big or small that guests are not completely satisfied with - from Gilad and Mikhail to the Restaurant Manager and the Maintenance and Cleaning Staff.

I must say I was very impressed with the level of staff friendliness and service and when I had my nights sleep disturbed due to a nearby party they offered to upgrade my room and gave me a complimentary meal in the bar , the breakfast was one of the best I have ever had in Israel and is included in the room price , hotel itself is a little dated but still very decent , parking is free which is rare for Israeli hotels , would highly recommend and definitely come back again.

Some of the advertised services, e.g. shuttle to beach and mall, were not available.
The hotel has no shops or entertainment, very much a business or touring hotel. Not set up for a week by the beach.
Otherwise very comfortable and friendly. Some of the facilities were a bit tired and in need of renovation but really no complaints. Had a very relaxed time.

I booked an Executive Suite with Balcony and Marina View, the photos showed a beautiful suite and large deck area with chaise lounge chairs and more. What I got was a small regular room. When I complained they said Sorry, we are overbooked this is all we have left. I paid $400 for a tiny room with a clogged shower and no remote for tv. The check in counter claimed there was nothing they could do because they have no authority. Thanks Herod for ruining our honeymoon trip!

The first day of stay, I left my room at 9am and when I came back at 6pm the room was not fixed everything was as I left it in the morning. Bad attitude and short on staff, this place where breakfast was served was dirty and all the dirty plates on the table. You could not find a seat.

This is a great hotel. The location is unique and there is a great patio to chill out. Although not unusual for Israel, the buffet breakfast is delicious. As appropriate for a 5 star hotel, the room was made 2-3 times a day.

The hotel is in a nice location overlooking the marina, there are lots of places to walk to eat and a long peer to walk on. The breakfast was excellent with a lot of variety and freshly made foods.
It would have been nice if they cleaned the windows of the hotel room - they were pretty filthy and lessened the view. There was a nice balcony so we could enjoy the view from there.

We arrived on 1st day for 7 day stay. we booked a regular room with balcony. we realized it was too small for my wife & i with our daughter & crib (provided by hotel). We asked to get a larger room (suite), they didn't have 1 available the 1st night but did the next day at check out time of 12pm. they (Lilach, manager) upgraded us to a suite for free! We love her for that. the only issue we had with the hotel is that the pool isn't heated & gets crowded on friday/saturday. parking was free in their garage. the breakfast buffet was good but slightly expensive. we only ate their once. room service was good, hotel staff was friendlier than i expected. i doubt anyone would complain about this hotel unless they are extremely picky or have something go extremely wrong. location is great as well! better than being in tel aviv where it way too crowded, more expensive with lack of parking, also, they have a shuttle car available for free to take you to the mall, which is walking distance. the beach is walking distance as well, but we didn't go to the beach. do yourself a favor and stay at this hotel.

It was a nice hotel and a short walk to the beach. My only complaint is that the hotel isn’t 100% accommodating to shomer Shabbat people. I wish there had been more of an explanation on the rooms capabilities before we checked in, since I requested a shabbat key. This may seem like a minor request, but I accidentally broke Shabbat more than once during my 24 hour stay because I didn’t understand certain things about the room.

Our guests were delighted of their stay and already planning their next visit :-)
Shabbath breakfast buffet was astounding, with years of traveling experience, they felt it was the best breakfast they ever had. Very varied, tasty and beautifully presented, congratulations!
Swimming pool are was very pleasant, clean water, soft breeze and very nicely oriented to the sun through the afternoon, extremely pleasant and relaxing spot to enjoy with family or friends.
Feels very private too.
Showers next to swimming pool restrooms, need to be attended more often, to prevent flooding all over the floor surface.
We manged with the outdoor shower, and its pleasant warm water.
The hotel and swimming pool are fully euipped and accessible for guests with a wheel chair, inc. a lift to easily enter the pool, without any need for help.
This is great.
The hotel also offers a complimentary underground parking, with 24/7 security and lifts with direct access to lobby
We will definitely come back

This Hotel was a pleasant experience from start to finish. The most significant aspect being that the staff are exceptionally accommodating! I'm not used to a real English service outside of Great Britain but here it was! The Hotel was immaculately clean, the room was perfect and all in good order. The food was excellent! The setting of the Hotel is nice too and it overlooks the Marina but also the Sea beyond the Marina. Herzliya is also a lovely and relaxing place with an abundance of excellent restaurants and a modern shopping mall not too far away. Once again I cannot over-rate the excellent Hotel service and it is certainly on my 'return' list.

Clean, modern and well built.

We stayed for one night on our way to northern Israel. While the hotel faces the ocean, you have to be on the second floor or so to actually see it, because there's a breakfront that protects the little harbor. I wish we could have walked the beach, but we had just flown in from the US and were dead tired. The hotel staff was very helpful and kind. I'd stay there again.

Stayed with the family, wife and 3 kids in Herziliyah Pituach, we had a suite. The hotel and the staff were excellent, the food was excellent. The location of the hotel is good, but is not on the beach. The beach is a short walk or the hotel provides a very convent shuttle. Our room was on the water and had a nice view. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Best Hotel In Israel

Herods Hotel is a beautiful hotel on the water surrounded by beautiful beaches. My stay was pleasant and I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a peaceful hotel near Tel Aviv. The service was excellent particularly from Liz the head of public relations for the property. Liz is professional and was willing to assist in every way. Liz made my my stay a comfortable and pleasant experience. Be sure to ask for Liz upon your arrival. I will most certainly be staying at Herods Herziliya on my next visit to Israel. Hotel was amazing. would have had a 5 on all counts but for two single drawbacks: 1) the hotel, borrowing we think from Isrotel, tries to make the whole hotel smell a certain way, including rooms, public areas, even the garage. Problem is that it's not a pleasant smell, way too strong and smells like chemicals - we had to air out our room every day. Second, they play loud music most of the time in the public spaces -- this makes any trip to the dining room or front desk distracting and less pleasant -- classical music would be perfect. It's more of a cheap hotel type of thing to do, not appropriate for this.
