It is clean, two blocks from 5ta. Avenida where shops and restaurants are located. Near playa mamitas. Unfortunately, we didn't not enjoyed the beach because it was full of seaweed expelled by the ocean.

HM Playa del Carmen was well located and had a great pool. Our room was very clean though the beds were hard. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast every morning. I recommend getting a room not close to the pool bar as it can get noisy at night.

Esta muy conmoda la habitacion, y el desayuno muy rico, hacen unos omeletes muy sabrosos Jesus nos atendio super bien y tienen varias opciones muy ricas para desayunar.

El check in fue muy sencillo, Roman fue muy amable, el dia del check out saldriamos muy temprano y nos tenian box lunch para el camino.

Tienen muy buena seguridad en el estacionamiento, los chicos fueron muy amables y disponibles para abrir aunque fuera muy temprano por la manana.

La alberca esta super, muy relax.

Muy cerca de la quinta avenida.

If you need an affordable stay at Cancun this hotel is fine! There was nothing alarming about the area but nothing super special either. It wasn't a luxurious hotel although you can tell that maybe once it was. It smells a little funny, just like mop water but it passes in comfort and has everything you actually need. Like an iron, it wasn't in the room but we could get it from the front desk. The food was a 5/10… but the staff was very kind!!!

Place was stunning, staff was amazing, and the breakfast incredible. Inside the hotel and all common areas including pool and bar were quiet and relaxing. Although I loved the layout of our 2nd level junior suite and terrace, the noise was such a nuisance. Late nights with traffic and partygoers and bright and early in the morning with the rush hour traffic sleep was difficult. Other than that everything was great!

This was my 3rd stay at this property. I wish they had a way to pay for breakfast in the dining area versus having to go down to pay then back up to eat.
When I was checking in after about 13 hours of travel time, I forgot to get my passport back due to exhaustion. I never realized it, and after 3 times of going down to the front desk, they still never handed it back to me. I checked out and realized I never got it once I was hours away. I wish they had brought it to my room after I checked in or at least had given it back on one of the 3 times I went to the front desk. They did keep it safe for a friend to pick up a couple days later.

The rooms and pool were delightful, clean and comfortable. The lobby did not reflect the quality of the rooms, which were very nice. Similarly, the neighborhood did not seem desirable, but it was walking distance to Quinta Avenida with various shops and greats spots to eat. The service was very friendly. Overall, a nice stopover en route to the airport.

We had a fantastic stay at HM Playa del Carmen! This beautiful boutique hotel is close to the main road, beach, and ferry, making it easy to explore. The well-maintained pool and poolside bar were perfect for relaxing with great drinks and snacks. My only minor complaint is the beds were pretty firm but still slept well. Only 3 blocks from the Playa Alterna bus station. Many dining options right by hotel. Pool was fantastic!

The location of this hotel was perfect! Just a walk down from the beach and from the main 5th avenue strip, yet it was nice and quiet and I felt safe, and well taken care of. Beautiful pool which I loved swimming in at night, with a beautiful view of the moon and stars above me!

We had a great time at HM Playa del Carmen right from the beginning when we were greeted by the highly efficient Minerva at the front desk. We appreciated having our Expedia VIP status recognized and the sparkling wine in the room as well as the option of a room upgrade and most importantly a very late check out till 4 pm which worked out perfectly for our 7:30 pm flight. The breakfast and bar staff were very friendly and worked hard to meet our needs and the breakfast itself was varied and plentiful and set us up for a great start to the day.
We loved the location - we are walkers so enjoyed walking along 5th Avenue past all the craziness to Punta Esmerelda and then along the ocean and public beaches coming up at calle 38 and into our favourite lunch time spot Chela de Playa for craft beer, an excellent orange gin and tonic and the best torta in Mexico. Other great spots that deserve mention are Sirjan Persian restaurant and Indiana Jones restaurant which are both in easy walking distance. If you need a taxi, turn left out of the hotel and Daniel's taxi is usually there on the left corner.

We stayed here with a 6yr old for four nights as we had several activities planned and did not feel the need to pay for an all inclusive resort during this part of our trip. Honest review as followed.
Room: We stayed on a first level room in front of the pool, The hotel itself if lovely and kept clean. Room could have been cleaner, but no smell was noticed and the air conditioning worked great. The beds were ok pillows very uncomfortable, firm and bulky and they did not replace them when asked to.

Staff: The staff at the reception desk were not friendly or welcoming, however the bar staff, housekeeper, and security guards were great and friendly.

Amenities: The pool is not heated but it is kept clean and has a swim up bar. The restaurant is decently priced and food was good.

Location: Short safe walk to Quinta Avenida and Beach access, restaurants and shopping

Parking is included, safe, and gated.

Overall it was an ok stay, but I would probably not stay there again.

Provided drinking water, beach towels and amazing breakfast. Staff was kind and helpful aside from one grumpy security guard. Pool area is gorgeous. Walking distance to beach and great food. Rooms had good air conditioning. Beds and pillows weren't the comfiest but met our needs. Shower drain was somewhat clogged so some draining issues. Overall great experience, we would definitely stay again.

The hotel is located in a very convenient area. It is very close to the Quinta Avenida and Plaza Las Perlas (pickup point to go to many tours). It is also quiet and full of plants which give it a cozy and appealing design. The staff is friendly and helpful. I had a great time staying there and would stay again for sure.

There are a lot of restaurants nearby that are walking distance. The room was modernly decorated however underneath the bed was filthy and so was the space between the bed and the headboard. The staff were very helpful. I do wish that staff would join reception without being told especially when there are queues. I did enjoy my stay and the room pictures on Expedia matched the appearance in person

I loved the location was perfect being that it was approximately a 3 minute walk to 5th street. There was never any loud noise which was perfect for a great night sleep. Overall the hotel was a great option due to the price of the room and location. Bed was comfortable, decent size TV, rainfall shower and lounging area.
The hotel felt safe and the pool was a great place to hang out and relax. Only a few spots see the sun though so get there early if you want to reserve a sunny chair.
Things we didn't like were the price of the food and drinks were way too high. Two drinks cost $26 USD! That's too much and seems they are trying to make their money in price of drinks to compensate the cheap price of room. Breakfast buffet wasn't very good either. Poor quality hot food. Best part was the fresh juice and egg made to order. Everything else can go on the garbage.
Elevator seemed to be out of service multiple times and the AC stopped working in our room. I will say the staff was quick to fix it though!

We had an excellent stay here ! The rooms were large and cleaned excellently every day, the staff were all really friendly and the breakfast was plentiful and tasty with fresh eggs served to taste which were great!

It was a great base for us. 5 minute walk to 5th Ave and plenty out so that it was so quiet on a night time!

The waiting staff work really hard here! Fabian who we saw every morning always went out of his way to speak to our children and we were always checked on to see if we needed anything.

The bar staff also work really hard and always smile and say hello!

It really was a perfect 2 week stay!

This hotel was so beautiful. The aesthetics had a fresh bohemian vibe. It was clean and modern with Mayan flair. The workers were all friendly and helpful. They provide water as well and ac and the WiFi works well. The only thing I would like to see would be coffee in the rooms (but there are lots of cafes nearby). The courtyard with the pool and little restaurant bar was great. Lounging around the pool, sitting on the swing chairs, swimming in the cool pool, and ordering one of the bars delicious cocktails was perfect after hot days walking around the city.
The location was ideal, everything you could want to do in the city is in walking distance, and the hotel is a bit off the main strip so it’s quiet at night.
We were lucky that it was Carnaval while we were there and we stepped outside to a parade.
We would definitely love to stay here again! We had a wonderful time.

I liked the property. The breakfast was excellent, but it was pricy. The only complaint I have is that the fragrance of the detergent they use to clean the room (maybe scented clorox (?)) was way too strong. So, my throat and noise had pains. We had to leave the window open throughout the day to ventilate the room. I strongly recommend the hotel to change the detergent to an unscented one. This is serious.

HM Playa del Carmen was recommended to us by a family member. It is on a great location, 2 blocks away from the long strip of 5th Avenue which is an amazing area with everything from shops, restaurants, bars, beach, malls and a great night life but close enough to walk to the hotel but far enough that it was quiet, I was able to walk with the locals, go to the nearby supermarket to buy water or other needs. It is huge too! The property had very nice staff that welcomed us, but make sure you read all the paperwork they give you, if not you will be surprised of fees to pay for a lost key or other regulations which is in the small print (which happens at any hotel even in the US). At the front desk they were very nice and there is someone that works there as well to sell excursions to amazing places that we enjoyed very much. I felt more comfortable buying from the person inside the hotel than the hundreds of people trying to sell me something on 5th Avenue or at the airport. The room was clean and simple, we had a city view and it was very nice to sit outside and enjoy the weather (they are not private). The pool was beautiful and clean. The buffet food was AMAZING, I woke up early to eat the food that is more typical to the area, which I enjoyed so much!(I don’t want food I get in my local diner). We were so busy every day that even though the bed was firmer than our own, we slept fine. Leaving they began construction of an elevator so it will be better for our next visit!

I guess it’s not a trip to Mexico if you don’t get shaken down in one way or another. I just didn’t expect it from the hotel. At check in I was advised that’s there’s a governmental eco tax, equivalent to $12 dollars. I gave them my credit card and they said it was cash only. Hmmm. I didn’t have cash and I was allowed to check in. At check out I was told I had a balance of said tax. I literally didn’t have cash, didn’t use any on this trip. I offered again to pay with my credit card and they said it’s cash only. They said they would need to hold my luggage as collateral while I go get the cash. Again, $11USD. Then when I said what happens if I just leave without paying, the attendant pointed to the security guard and said he wouldn’t let me leave. I refused to leave my luggage and gave in and went to the ATM across the street. With ATM fees it came out to $20. It’s a shame because otherwise it was a good stay there. That just left a VERY bad taste.

Loved staying at HM ! All if their staff was always friendly and available, they had someone to book activities, the pool was very relaxing and the restaurant/bar was very good. The area is just perfect right next to the busy street 5th ave, walking distance to the beach or ferry. Everything is close by, and very safe!

Fantastic stay. Very friendly staff , great and neat location. They offer secured parking if you have a rental car.You can book all tours at the hotel where Caesar can help you.
Also we got deep tissue massages twice with Laura in the hotel with « La palapa de masajes »
Perfect!
