Pleasant place to relax, especially with the greenery around the pool. No covers on beds, just sheets; ‘breakfast’ was coffee, water and pre-cooked toast with jam, not even cream. Some rooms have fridges but not all, no glassware. We got what we paid for though, and location was perfect.

We arrived in two groups. I had requested rooms close together. I wasn’t sure if this was not possible or just not done.
However they were very kind to bring us a fridge for one of the rooms. On the first day there my gf picked out an outfit for dinner, put it back in her suitcase. We got dressed for the beach. Came back to change for dinner. I specifically asked the maid not to enter the room.

My friend is looking for her brand new top she literally had on two hours ago in her luggage.

I know how it sounds blaming people in the service industry for theft. We triple double checked.

We decided to rent an air bnb for the next day.

Id stay here again if I was on a tight budget. I found it clean, the man with curly hair and glasses as well as the blonde woman with glasses were really really great.

Mixed review. At the end of the day, we wanted our group closer together.

I use to stay here allot. It included free breakfast at the cafe across the street . Massage on site . Art classes . It’s def changed. . We booked two beds room. The beds were hard as a rock. They changed the open area by pool to their own cafe . Includes breakfast at hotel now Which is weak coffee and hard dry toast ..
room came with two small bottles of water. I asked for a couple more bc we hadn’t gotten to store it was late was told no .. they are all counted. So would miss inventory for tomorrow .. so I had to have them fil my empty bottle three times . Asked for egg rate . Didn’t have .. but gave me a foam couch cushion .. asked blanket .. got a sheet . Used to locate place .. I usually stay in a room with king bed. Those beds were softer.

Tried to charge me for \"tax\" of $30 on top of what expedia said was paid in full.
No blankets, just sheets.
Expedia lists as including breakfast. When I asked the desk, they said yes and gave me a paper ticket. I gave the ticket to the cafe girl and picked something off the menu. She then gave me a bill at the end. I said that I had given her the ticket and she said the ticket is just for that section... a bar with juice, water, and plain bread. So I got con'd into buying their breakfast.

the place is less than a minute by walk from the Main Street, so it's perfect. the receptionist was really nice and sweet, but I didn't really got to see the hotel since I stayed only a night, overall it was nice.

I booked this hotel for 9 days but I did left 4 days early without getting my money back!
There is loud music 5th isn’t that far from the hotel, there is bathrooms windows without glass so if you don’t have professional earbuds to sleep this place isn’t good for you!
They say there is breakfast but there is only some black coffee , fridges make noise like train and loud I asked very day to change but they always say tomorrow! Staff very unprofessional especially night staff mean and very very rude! There is mold in bathroom walls floor etc there!

The only nice thing I have to say is the location is pretty good.

The construction on 3 sides of the hotel, plumbing that resulted in needing to use the staff bathroom for 24 hours, inabilty to give us hand soap for 3 days, unwillingness to give us enough towels for every person staying in the room, no screen on our patio door and the hotel’s unwillingness to work with us or provide any type of offset or compensation - detracted from our stay.

Other things like: uncomfortable beds, not enough blankets, no glasses/cups in the room, cold pre-toasted toast, unwillingness to let us take coffee/tea back to room, only cleaning our room on the last day of our stay are likely more a function of the quality/standards of the property which should probably be classified as a 2 star motel at best.

The photos of this property were a bit deceiving. But my main issue was with the towel replacement policies. They only replace your towels every 3 days but for my stay they never came by to replace our towels. No one asked if we needed new towels. We had to ask maintenance to take our dirty towels, and even then they only gave us one clean towel to use.

The manager Gerardo and his staff were great. For the money the hotel was a deal, pool area was nice and quiet. The lady that ran the breakfast was awesome and very accommodating. Very close to 5th Ave, upscale grocery store 2 blocks away and walmart was only a 10 - 15 minute walk.

I was taking a shower the first day I got there and a big roach came out of shower drain and a big roach landed on my head when I was taking a shower it was nasty a terrible! I was washing my hair and suddenly I felt the roach crawling on my head I think it felt from the ceiling.

Good: The location was very convenient and walkable to a lot of things.

Bad: The staff were not very friendly. I was never once greeted while walking through the lobby during my stay. When I first checked in, the room had a strong, bad odor (like mildew) and was very noisy from workers tearing up the street a few feet outside my door. I asked to move rooms and was thankfully moved to a room on the other side of the property that was quieter and did not smell bad. This was definitely an older property that could benefit from updates.
I was only given 2 bath towels. No hand towels or wash cloths.
There was only a sheet on the bed, no blanket.
\"Included\" breakfast was (bad) coffee and a piece of toast. The breakfast you could pay for was cheap but not great (pretty greasy overall).
Overall, I would not stay here again. There are other better nearby options.

This is a beautiful and charming hotel. The best part was having breakfast in the palapa overlooking the courtyard with the pool and all the tropical plants. Included breakfast is only coffee and toast with margarine and jam, but they have menu option you can pay for which were delicious and economical.The room was clean, the shower was good, and the bed was comfy. The only issue was that our patio door did not have a functioning lock. Although they said they would send someone to fix it, they never did, so we had an unlocked door for our whole stay. The beach is a 15 minure walk away. The area is close to shops, bars and restos so be prepared to hear music well into the night. This did not bother us. However, there was also construction noise all night which was more annoying, though not enough to interfere with our ability to sleep. All in all it was a good value.

Very loud! The staff does nothing about people playing loud music in their rooms late at night or being out in the pool after closing. The internet is beyond awful. They advertise high speed internet and it barely worked the whole time I was there. Their \"breakfast included\" is stale toast and water or tea. The housekeeping staff is amazing and my room was kept very clean but that's the only good thing I can say about the hotel.

The property is located close to la Quinta ave which is convenient but loud as the bar down the road plays loud music until 1:30am ish. The hotel has a lot of potential to be good. Rooms need to be updated, wifi connection on the second floor was spotty. Front desk wasn’t very welcoming or pleasant. The cleaning staff was nice. They offered complimentary coffee, tea and toast in the morning. The pool and garden area was nice but doesn’t get a lot of sun throughout the day.

You really go there only because is cheap , and your out of budget ! Pool is so dirty you cant swim , rooms all broken and rusted , the person at the reception very nice but is really only an option to stay somewherre and u have no extra money dont expect nothing nothing more then a room to stay . Breakfast is only a toast and jelly with coffee but i expected this for the price .

It’s a good price-quality deal. All in order, except that the headboard of the bed was noisy, it was not well installed. Also, the toilet got blocked all the time. We reported those issues but apparently nothing was done. The rest was very good.

Parfait sur tout!

J'ai passé une semaine parfaite dans cette petit hotel situé en plein centre ville et à deux pas des plages. Les chambres sont tres grandes et tres functionnelles avec balcon. La piscine est magnifiques entourée des belles verdures et fleurs. Le petit dejeuner c'est une simple assiette avec des oeufs et des fruits, du café et du bon jus d'hybiscus, c'est pas tres copieux mais c'est tres bon et surtout ont est bien servie par le Monsieur tout le matin et surtout le cadre en face de la piscine c'est vraiment magnifiques. J'ai donne 10 sur 10 aussi sur l'emplacement car on est à deux pas de tout: on etait arrivées tres tard le soir et j'avait pas de prise chargeur alors j'etait juste derriere l'hotel pour l'acheter car il y a pleins des magasins ouverts jusqu'à tard. Un grand merci à la fille de la reception avec les tresses super sympa et tres disponible et aussi à la dame qui parlait parfetement italiens qui travaille dans l'hotel pour ses conseils et sa gentillesse. Un grand merci au monsieur qui travaille au restaurant pour ses conseil et son sourire. Par contre mieux choisir une chambre à l'etage car les chambres au rez de chaussez sent un peu de mousissure. N'ecoutez pas les commentaires negatifs car qualité-prix ca merite un 10 sur 10.

Pro: proximity to 5th st

Con:

Electrical: plugs/wires hanging from outlet behind bed. Very few plugs.

Filthy: sheets were stained/dingy. Walls were black with dust

Housekeeping: Didn’t replace sheets when taken. Didn’t leave extra TP. Didn’t actually clean anything. stored cart in front of our door instead of storage cubby.

Linens: stained, had holes in them, had to ask for clean ones or replacements when taken by housekeeping. No washcloths or hand towels. 2 towels/bathmats for 4 nights. Pillows lumpy and old.

Furniture: bench cushion filthy and hard. Headboard unattached to bed so it constantly hit wall. Mattress was old springs stabbed back all week and bed was sunken in. Bed squeaked with every move.

Plumbing: no hot water or pressure the first 24 hours. Asked for it to be fixed and got semi hot after 20 minute warm Up and then scalding with no in between for the rest of the stay. Water pressure was horrible. Toilets don’t flush and require multiple flushes. Staff tried to tell me how to fix the issue with their hotel and refused to fix issue.

Patio: employees smoking outside our patio, stones stacked up side of patio and popcorn bags full of gravel was view. Patio door didn’t slide-had to force open.

Breakfast: spoiled fruit and a piece of toast. Had to pay to take coffee to room

Temps: Poor control and ventilation.

Armoire: broken/unusable inside bottom

Amenities: no bottled water available

Noise: very loud until 3am

We got there for a 4 night stay. Upon arrival tv, didn’t work, air conditioning did’t work, and had no hot water. We were told maintenance would be there in 20 minutes. An hour and a half later they showed up and fixed air conditioning and half way fixed tv. We had cold showers for two days at which point we had luke warm showers. On the third day there was no propane so no hot breakfast. Location is great though. We had stayed there before and would consider again.

This property should be blacklisted. Our family vacation experience was disaster staying at the hotel since we checked in day 1. We were starting from low bar as our first choice hotel fell through turned out to be scam booking through Expedia. To our dismay there was no hot water available, for entire 5 days of our trip. Cockroaches in bathroom in each of the 3 rooms, all rooms had musty odor, towels provided had stains looked like blood, no phone in room, no microwave. We were stuck and out of luck as everything else was sold out. Location is convenient to Playa beaches and downtown area. how do you run hotel with no hot water ? Expedia needs to do better job listing properties on their site, vet out reviews as of writing review property had 8.6 rating which is scam. do not book even as last option.

I can honestly say this is probably the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. There was no hot water for the first two days of my stay. Even after they \"fixed\" the issue, the hot water was not hot, it was more lukewarm.

Pros:
- The front desk staff were helpful and pleasant to speak with.
- The free morning breakfast was good. Each day there were changes to the menu.

Cons:
- No hot water for two days and lukewarm afterwards.
- Do not stay in the rooms by the restaurant because they play music early in the morning (around 7:15am) which can be heard in the room.
- The sheets and towels had stains on them.
- No shower gel or shampoo is provided.
- The bed was not comfortable. It was very firm.

All in all, I would not recommend this hotel.

Desk clerks didn’t know how to locate our reservation even with the reservation number. Door to our room stuck on floor with door only half open, had to be bumped with your shoulder to open all the way. They left their cleaning carts and other junk piled next to our room door. The grounds were in a state of disrepair and the pool needed cleaning. The desk clerks failed to mention the continental breakfast or what was included, when I ask for milk for my coffee they told me that was not included, it would be 10 pesos more. Their juice wasn’t juice, but it was included. I’ve stayed in over 20 hotels in Playa and I can say this was my worst experience. We checked out after one night and found much better accommodations for less.

this hotel is a bit older which reflects the pluming system to work slower than usually expected. however, the location of it is just a right distance from the main strip which is the most popular area for dining and entertainment. the hotel staff was so sweet and helpful in every aspect of our needs. it was truly difficult to say goodbye.

This was a convenient hotel to stay at. It was relatively quiet most of the days we spent there (9 d) which was surprising, since the location is very central. 2 of the days were quite noisy only bc of guests that started partying between 1-4am live music nearby. In general if you want to live centrally it might be difficult to completely escape the noise. It could help to bring earplugs just in case. The hotel is clean and in case anyone is wondering, they clean it every other day. There is a nice area for lounging by the pool. Breakfast was at Coloretta across the street which was yummy, the staff is nice but unfortunately a lot of them working there are quite confused. On the menu it says that if you are a guest at the hotel you get a free breakfast which includes the following: seasonal fruit water, coffee, one choice of breakfast (such as eggs with toast or hot cakes, etc.) and a bread basket with butter jam. Something was missing from the breakfast every day. They rarely brought the bread with butter/ jam (even after reminding them, and pointing to the menu where it was written). Sometimes the fruit water was missing. Sometimes parts of the main meal. Every day was different. I guess the kitchen staff was different as well bc the food itself was usually really nice but on 1-2 days it was prepared differently/ bland. On the other hand they did compensate us when we waited too long for breakfast with lovely desserts nice cups of coffee without us asking.

Attempted to walk in and book room. Staff stated no rooms available. I went on Expedia and booked it while standing at desk. Suddenly she stated oh yes she found a room … ? I liked the courtyard, breakfast and the room was fair.
Very glad there was a secondary door to close to block road noise between main door/bathroom and bedroom areas. As hotel in very busy road.
Fridge was full of water, splashed all over floor,
They came and fixed next day.
No internet, no tv because of no internet. Good thing I had bought data for my phone and had downloaded movies. No fresh linens after 3 day. Had to request towels.
Staff was friendly however stated they couldn’t help with no internet. Breakfast across street was good and friendly staff. Good location. No hotel Parking only street parking at a cost, it added up fast.

TV didn’t work properly and hair dryer was broken (they gave us a replacement after a few days). The A/C is old and kept leaking most of the time. The staff was very helpful at all times and tried to do their best to keep guests happy

Maintenance lacking

We had a couples 2 night stay to end our trip. The AC unit barely kept the room cool enough to sleep so that was disappointing. The water pressure in the shower was very weak & the water temperature was not warm enough to take a comfortable shower which was the most disappointing. Also the shower door was misaligned making it unable to close & the door to the bathroom had a handle that the screws holding it together were loose. Maintenance is lacking in this hotel & I wouldn’t stay there or recommend it to anyone.

The Hotel Hacienda no longer exists. When we arrived it was being updated or torn down. Not sue which. We talked to a worker who made a call and a young lady from across the street came out and said we were staying at the Lahun. Which is where she came out of. It’s a nice hotel with a few hiccups. The Lahun is a modern hotel, your phone operates everything, locks, TV etc. the hotel was relatively new and very clean. Complaints: noisy, open stairwell, you can hear every room on every floor coming and going. Also, our entry light to the room was somehow cross wired with the neighboring room so not only could heat them come home drunk at 1 AM, our light would come on when they turned on there’s. Water problems, when we arrived. No hot water, which they fixed in a few hours, third night, no water at all, fixed by 8 the next morning. Compliments: Great location, very clean.
Overall, they can fix some of the items but they can’t fix the open air stairwell creating all the news. Personally, I didn’t like the bait and switch of hotels.

This is strictly a budget hotel option. Not a luxury hotel to lounge around all day. Excellent location in the center of town. Police and military officers walk and drive around at all times. We felt very safe walking around day and night. Can walk everywhere from the hotel. Staff helpful with any questions at any time. The first night they must have forgotten to change the sheets as I found other people’s hairs in the bed. It was taken care of immediately. No further issues after that. Good breakfast. We used this hotel only to sleep and shower since we planned many day trips and excursions. Furniture needs upgrading. Only one bottle of water provided in the room for the entire stay. You can refill the bottle in the lobby water cooler. They are very frugal with the use of water and electricity. Again, a decent, safe and basic accommodation to sleep, shower and eat breakfast.

Great hotel in a great location

Great hotel. Big, clean room, comfy bed. Rooms have balcony and overlook pool area. Good breakfast with Mexican pastries, meat, cheese, hot items, yogurt, fresh fruit, juice, coffee.
The staff is great--friendly, helpful with local recommendations. Special kudos to Gonzalo and night security for their help during acute medical issue. Offered to go to the pharmacy for me. Rosi, Gonzalo and the whole staff kept an eye on me for the rest of the stay to make sure I was okay. Even sent a fruit plate to my room.
Hotel located a block off 5th Ave. at the better end--lots of good restaurants and live music nearby. Hotel next door cranks up the bass all day long. It can be a little annoying at the pool--not the HP's fault.
Beach only 5-10 min walk. Try the Kool Beach Club-really nice. About $25+ for lounger w/umbrella and you get it all back in food/beverage. They have a pool. If seaweed is a problem in Playa, go to HP's sister hotel beach club about 25 min away. About $25 including transportation and you get $15 back in food/beverage.

Horrendous noise until 3am

The hotel would be OK if it wasn't for the rooftop disco next door. It is difficult to convey just how loud it was and it went on to 3 in the morning and at other times during the day. The noise was such that even my noise cancelling headphones could not cope. We eventually checked out after 2 nights even though we had paid for 4!

Friendly staff, but....

Pros:
+ Staff is attentive, kind and helpful
+ Beds were comfortable and the pillows were fantastic.
+ Great area

Cons:
- As mentioned by many others. STAY AWAY during weekends. The sound from the night club next door is really something else. It really is. If you're gonna stay out until 3am. You're good. Otherwise no sound cancelation piece in the world can help you.
- I have rarely had a more confused breakfast with a strange mixture of food. The server does not speak English. The \"buffet\" was mediocre, at best.
- the pool area is in complete shade throughout the day and the pool is in VERY poor condition and poorly cleaned.

I would not return.

Hotel itself was great but the noise from the other hotel on weekends is very loud. I won't stay there again during the weekend.
