The room was clean, but the towels could use an upgrade as they were old, stained, and only provided two. There’s an additional fee upon arrival for street cleaning. If you need a shuttle, that’s also an extra charge and not complimentary. The front desk staff was very nice and communicated promptly via WhatsApp, ensuring you had what you needed as soon as possible.
They don't provided you with a cover just a sheet for the bed.

Si piensas descansar de 9-12 pm
No es el lugar porque se para un señor desafinado a gritar porque el talento de cantar se le fue h es bien molesto
Por todo lo demás está bien y céntrico
Comer al rededor es carísimo
Pero puedes ir al Fogón , que es tradicional de tacos y va gente del pueblo que es lo más económico que vimos en cuanto a restaurantes
Tienes a unos 5 minutos caminando chedraui 100% recomendado , cuando lo descubrimos fuimos a desayunar y comer ahí , y es menos que cualquier otro lugar
Guarda tu dinero para las excursiones y come aquí lo hay todo .
Si un expreso cuesta en la calle 80 pesos
Ahí cuesta 35
Y todo los demás es mucho más barato

Our stay at the hotel left us with mixed feelings. On one hand, the staff was undeniably helpful, always eager to assist. However, their approach to customer service felt a bit too relaxed. The persistent issue with room keys being blocked was particularly frustrating. I found myself having to make multiple trips to the front desk to resolve the problem, only for it to reoccur shortly after. This was not the seamless experience one would expect from a hotel aiming to provide exemplary service.

Additionally, the staff didn’t seem very well-versed in the local area. When asked about transportation options or popular local activities, the responses were less informative than I had hoped, which is a common inquiry from tourists. A bit more training in this area could greatly enhance the guests' experience.

While the cleanliness of the hotel was commendable, there were some flaws in the details that affected the overall ambiance. The towels, and pillows provided looked worn and stained, detracting from an otherwise tidy environment. A hotel’s attention to the little things often makes a significant difference in how guests perceive their stay.

The hotel has a solid foundation and plenty of potential, but there are several areas needing improvement. With more attention to service training and upkeep of amenities, it could elevate itself from a decent stay to a truly memorable one.

La tele estaba dañada, todas las noches las tuberías de la regadera y del baño hacen ruido... la cama no tiene edredón o algo modesto para taparse, en general el desayuno es lo mismo, huevo en cualquier presentación, jugo de caja y café; siento que está algo costoso para la calidad; pagué $1000 mxn para que adornaran la habitación romántica y solo pusieron unos pétalos muy chafa y una botella sin enfriar de $100 mxn; no recomiendo pagar eso, ni se nota la diferencia; el escusado no tiene privacidad... para algunas personas puede ser incomodo. De lo bueno, la cama es cómoda, la alberca está bien y en general son amables.

The 1st day was no hot water & the last day the A/C was not working properly...no cold air was coming out.
But the breakfast was good, it's in the middle of everything, very convenient...in walking distance to everything.

This hotel is in a great location, everything you need or want is walkable. The staff were very helpful and friendly to their capabilities. I am notnsure who is managing this hotel but it does need to be taken csre of more as there is very easy things to do to make it just a bit better such as new towels as they dont have enough towels for everyone as we got told as they get thrown out because they habe lots of holes, stains in them and falling apart. Is it not is easy to get new towels? Same with the pool towels. When visiting the pool, the cushions for the loungers are disgusting and not enough loungers, or coushins missing for some seats. The breakfast needs to be better, more options, better variety since it is included and the woman that is cooking is sweet and amazing and has said she can cook a mutiple different types of dishes but having the same breakfast for almost every single days except for a 2 days...isn't good enough. The hotel needs to step up. For the hotel room, the mirrors need replacing, dont just put another mirror ontop of a nother mirror. They mirrors need replacing as they are falling apart. The toliet is separated in its own room, but a glass door is not helping anyone...it should not be glass ad no one needs to see in when someone is doingntheir business. The remote for the tv doesn't work. The blinds do not go up or down as they lost the remote for them...why even have an electric blind system if you cant use it, it would be nice to see outside.

This was our first stay at Senses and we were DELIGHTED by everything - great location on La Quinta Avenida (for shopping and dining), great facility with balconies overlooking the street as well as a beautiful rooftop pool and deck with views of the ocean, great staff (friendly and helpful). They stored our luggage as we arrived early and didn't need to leave until late.

When we first arrived our door key didn’t work properly we had to wait about 2 hours to receive a key that would work. The tv remotes never worked had to ask for new batteries and still didn’t work. Paid extra for the “jacuzzi” didn’t even work properly nor did it even heat up

Right in the heart of 5th ave so everything was super convenient. Being right on 5th ave it was noisy but was to be expected. Front desk staff and cleaning staff were excellent. Would definitely stay here again. There were some concerns with the room upon check in but it was addressed right away and no problems after that.

This hotel was good in general . The location is great, the price was good and it felt very safe. The hotel needs a little bit of a refresh. The vibe was dead. My main concern was the water pressure (or lack thereof). The toiletries were really bad too. The elevator was broken for a day and Monday morning was very noisy with constructions around . Service was ok, straight to the point, front desk people and mostly the overnight guy were very kind. But it sounds very bad when you arrive to a hotel and the first things you heard is we are going to have extra charge if towels are stained and key ( electronic by the way ) are lost. It is not a very welcoming. Overall , it is a good hotel, just need some improvements.

Nothing unique, they never delivered the bottle of wine per stay, the outdoor jacuzzi was dirty with a big dirt stain, water came in through the glass door during rainy days, makijg a poddle, the shower handles need to be replaced,nit steady and the water sink splashes water all over, they charged me $14 dollars for a hair dye stain in a white towell that im sure when they do the laundry it would come out..

I'll start with the positives:

Great location close to everything, and adecuate professional staff. Air conditioner works. Fine if you're there to party and crash.

We are Canadian/Mexican couple who live in Mexico, and we only stay at vip properties when we book to ensure a great stay, and this hotel was the first time we were let down by Expedia's VIP/star qualification.

Honest review:

The hotel was run down. It did not have a café, or any food and beverage service as advertised, and you couldn't bring in food or drink to the pool area, so we couldn't really stay and enjoy much.

The mattresses were cheap, springy and hard. The pillows were low quality, uncomfortable and lumpy. The sheets had stains, and were not tucked in. There were no facecloths, or glasses in the room. We had no shampoo. The jacuzzi tap had 1 minute of hot water, so we were unable to use it

There is a noisy bar directly downstairs. Very noisy until 12:30am.The AC was so strong, I requested a blanket, and I was told they didn't have any. I went and bought one because I was THAT cold.

When we requested a room on a higher floor, they said they would address it, but never got back to us. I would not consider this a 4 star, much less a vip hotel & will not return.

I booked here due to last-minute travel plans and I ended up staying an extra night. The staff was very kind and welcoming (Andrea, Caro and Paulette) as well as the housekeeping team. I did not initially get my room upgrade but honestly, I was fine in the standard King room I booked. It was very clean and comfortable. The bed was heavenly, and the amenities were great. Andrea was very apologetic and upgraded my room, which was much appreciated. I would definitely stay here again and recommend to others. Location, rooftop pool/area are great as well. I did not have any noise issues, despite being right on 5th.

So the best thing this place has going it is the location!! Right on 5th ave., it’s surrounded by restaurants, bars, coffee shops etc. Beach is not too far but they do have a nice rooftop pool. Rooms are in good condition, place was clean..
what I didn’t like was that I needed to speak to someone about my reservation before arriving…. I called (from USA) no answer.. had someone that lives in Playa Del Carmen call… no answer(he tried three different t numbers posted on website) even expedia agent called… still no answer… I kept calling several times, but nothing..if yiu are in the service industry please pick up the phone… it’s only courtesy to your future guests…

The only thing good was the staff.
Its a shame expedia sell a hotel in a bad situation. Room floor its cracking. No hot water at all. Inly cold water for a few minutes per day. Toilets no water to flush. We had to take shower in another room because was the only room with hot water. ( eletrical shower ) USED FOR ALL THE HOTEL GUESTS). I asked for change room but staff says they have the same problem inall rooms. By the night we cant sleep because the water bump was make to many noisy. Giving us a hope that by the morning we gona have water but was frustrating when we open the faucets and nothing more then a few water drippings.
The breakfast was in a litter restaurant near. Food was good but no enough. If we need eat more we have to by extra for.
Extremely disappointed and for sure we going to use another web site for searching and booking our next vacations.

Nos quedamos solo una noche y fue TERRIBLE! El llegar nos dijeron que no había agua caliente y que si queríamos cancelar era directo con Expedia pues ellos no podían regresar el dinero. A la mañana siguiente ya había agua caliente pero no salía agua de la regadera cuándo la ponías del lado caliente, nos tuvimos que bañar con agua fría. El A/C no funcionaba, estaba helado el cuarto y si apagabas el A/C te morias de calor porque el ventilador tampoco funcionaba y así en todas las habitaciones pues pedí que nos cambiaran de habitación porque tampoco salía agua del grifo para lavar las manos. Al hotel le hace falta mantenimiento, no se ve como en las fotos y el elevador hace un ruido como se se fuera a caer todo el tiempo. La chica de la recepción fue amable al final entendemos que no es su cumpla sino del dueño del hotel. La persona con la que te comunicas por WhatsApp supongo es el mánager no daba soluciones solo se excusaba y su solución al final fue ofrecernos un masaje de 20min que NO aceptamos y el desayuno continental que teníamos incluido nos los cambiaron por uno full. NO RECOMIENDO! 👎

This property is not for light sleepers. Constant thumping from downstairs bar at night time heard in two different rooms I was given in. The interior room is slightly less but it is still heard. The beds did not seem hygienic—sheets were so old they were practically see through and had lots of stains. Pillows did not have pillow covers just pillowcases directly on the pillows. I showed the front desk and asked if she would sleep on those sheets…she didn’t answer. Good facilities but sadly they need to make small investment on their soft product.

Worst experience with a noisy room. We can't believe that a bar is just in the floor below. So noisy that we needed to sleep with earplugs the whole week. Definitely not recommended. Not worth the money paid. Very expensive for what it was.

Awful! Trust the reviews, not the pictures, the pictures must of been taken 7 years ago when they opened. Roof top pool has no bar or hot tub like the pictures show? The bathtubs in the rooms are disgusting, hair and dead skin shoot out of the jets with the crap water pressure. Bedding is not \"luxury\" lol, far from it. I was promised a bottle of wine with my VIP status and never got it even after asking 3 times! Don't ruin your vacation by staying here, waste of money.

We love this resort was right on 5th Avenue. Close to food, shopping, everything... we had a balcony that looked down on 5th. We also enjoyed the roof top pool. Our stay was two nights which we felt was just perfect before heading to an all inclusive out of town. The staff was wonderful, bed was comfy & had everything we needed. Would definitely stay here again!

we checked in, went into the room, door has marks of having been forced at some point, the safe was no bolted at some surface, noice from outside was exaggerated. lobby was dark. in the entire hotel there was only pne person working. he did our registration, he gave us hes personal whatts up, in case we need somthing.we went to take a dinner. when we come back we decide no to stay in this hotel. we feel really insecure since the doors are open.noice is no going to let us sleep, and is no staff in the hotel. we came to talk with de person than did our check in. he said he can no do anytging since was saturday and the manager will be back thill monday. we leftt and find other hotel (fiesta inn)we lost our money of 8 nights. we still waiting for somebody to contac us. reservation was on de name of pedro and alicia villarreal

Upon check in I was advised my room I had already a booked an paid for was not available. I’m guessing they sold it to the couple in front of me at check in reception.
I was down graded to a queen with no balcony or large jacuzzi. Although the room wasn’t all that bad. They offered me a spa or massage which I didn’t take as they gave me the voucher on the second day and it was only for 25mins so not worth the time.
I was also suppose to have a full breakfast included to make up for the downgrade.
I arrived at the breakfast restaurant around the corner which isn’t on premises, and passed my card over to the waiter who told me it was only continental so had to go back and get another voucher.

Upon check in my room had no towels, no hand towels or bath mats absolutely nothing, including no soaps or shampoo.

No phone for reception so had to go down and ask, later found out the phone in the toilet you can call reception.

Second day I got my original room which was a lot nicer and spacious.

The tv remote didn’t work.

I also had trouble flushing the toilet in the first and second room, and then was advised there would be no water for several hours from about 3pm till 6pm so couldn’t shower or use the jacuzzi.

Also the aircon was intermittent, would work for the first hour that you arrive in the room then it’s just fan the rest of the time.

I advised reception, I assumed it was only that first room with aircon issue but it was both.

La localización del hotel es muy buena, rodeada de restaurantes y bares donde pasar el rato, en cuanto a la limpieza se podian notar algunas manchas en sabanas y almohadas.
Nos hicieron un upgrade gratis por el programa de rewards.
Cuando quisimos utilizar el jacuzzi de la habitabitacion nunca salio agua caliente, solo agua tibia-fria (mas fria que tibia), prendimos el hidromasaje de la tina y sabia una cucaracha muerta de una tuberia

There was a Jacuzzi there, but appeared to be for one person. The problem is there was no hot water in the hotel. They knew, and didn’t mention it when I checked in. It was New Year’s Eve, so we obviously wanted to take a shower before we went out. We had to take cold showers. It sucked. Obviously we didn’t even use the Jacuzzi, since there was no hot water. They try to make it up for me and gave us an upgrade in breakfast. Breakfast is a voucher at a nearby restaurant which was not that great.

Awesome stay at the Senses Quinta Avenida , enjoyed it so much that I stayed for another 8 days for a very reasonable rate to explore and enjoy Playa Del Carmen and its great vibe . Centrally located on fifth avenue with fantastic restaurants beaches and music to enjoy daily . Staff is top notch , very professional and courteous to your needs and spoke very good English . Rooms were immaculate and cleaned daily , and the bed and pillows were so comfortable I slept like a baby . The complimentary breakfast was around the corner at Dolce &Salato which is a quaint Bistro style restaurant with A local amazing musician playing frequently and enjoyed the food and atmosphere daily. So all in all excellent hotel ,People and city , to escape the Wuhu Flu craziness and Canadian Winter and enjoy some sunshine to recharge the old bones . Would highly recommend if you are a music lover for there is bars all around you with great musicians playing nightly . Salud 🍻

No AC one day!! No elevator and nobody helped me with my 4 luggage’s to take them upstairs!! Rooms was pretty, rooftop and pool are nice!! Overnight FD not helpfully at all.

This hotel is under construction and as such is not nearly what it could be - when I stayed for a day, there was construction/painting happening at the pool all day and construction in the lobby which looked like it wasn't open for business. There was also noise from the work being done and the power went out while I was trying to work. Unfortunately wouldn't recommend right now while they're renovating the hotel

Place was nice and clean, staff was pleasant. We didn’t get the room we purchased but after speaking with the front desk staff we were moved to the correct room. One downside was the elevator out of service and our room was on the third floor so carrying heavy luggage was a pain.

Hotel's location is great on Quinta avenida, right in the heart of the action! This means it's a little noisy at night, but that was no issue for me, as I expected it. Plus, all the music and crowds stop around 12am. The beach is super close and nice as well.

The staff welcomed us warmly, the room was spacious, the bed comfortable.

However, I'm mainly disappointed by how things went on. On the 1st morning, we noticed that there was no water. This could happen to any hotel, so went to go to the nearby Startbucks to grab coffee (interestingly, the room had a Nespresso machine, with a Nespresso capsule box, but it was empty, so pretty useless) and use their restroom. I noticed at least one other guest from the same hotel doing the same.
We were also assured the problem would be fixed in about an hour.
With this in mind we went to the beach. Came back to the hotel around 12pm hoping we'd be able to take a shower.
However, this did not happen, as there was still no water. We were then assured that the problem would be fixed by 14:30. Needless to say, this did not happen. It was fixed around 16:30 and then of course there wasn't hot water, so we needed to wait at an hour more so it could heat up.

The whole day was ruined, we spent it in waiting for the water problem to be fixed. I was expecting a short term solution, such as a few bottles mineral water for example, but none was offered.
The following day before check out, I noticed that there was no hot water again.

Fantastic!

Everything was great till the end where we didn't have any water to shower or clean up before checking out. Guimell from reception was very helpful, approachable and friendly also went out of his way to help when we were struggling with our doggy super-shuttle pick up. Love the room and the amenities and great views of Playa del Carmen.

The rooftop infinity pool is amazing. It is small with only 6 or 8 loungers which is nice because it wasn't busy at all when we were there. The pool deck could use some attention though. There are many swelled boards and overall it could use a paint job. Also, the one day we went up there, there were no towels. I went to the front desk and she said the laundry person wasn't in until 3 so there wouldn't be any towels available until after then. It was a bit annoying. Good thing the sunshine and the awesome view from the pool made up for it!

I'll first start by saying we went at the end of Oct so prices are very low and we only paid $482 for 4 nights so it was bearable but if we paid close to $1k we would be very upset.

I like the location right on 5th Ave. At night is loud music so be prepared. I was kind of disappointed their jacuzzi in a room wherein is not clean properly and roof top jacuzzi is old. Pool was ok need updates on flooring. Overall like my room bed is comfy, and nice pillows had good showers.I would stay again in that hotel. The price was right.

** only good thing *** This property was in an absolute beautiful spot on 5th ave and very close to everything. The breakfast that was included was just around the corner at super cute small quaint place.

Sadly, there are many things that would never make me book at this hotel ever again. I figured why not try something new (as we are very frequent travelers in playa) ! First- I guess towels are a dilemma for them; they give you complete attitude when being asked for. Rooms were hardly cleaned (sheets never changed), no towels were left, (wouldn’t give you pool towels), the bathroom door never shut, had no water pressure while taking a shower, and I mean there is more, as we had stayed at this hotel for 9 days. If they would have refunded my money, i would have left after the 2nd day. They also had a jacuzzi in the room; we did not use it because it just was extremely dirty.

Although, the staff was very snarky which almost felt like we were bothering them when asking for soemething. The last night of our stay, at 1 am until 4 am (my boyfriend has on video) they cut the tree down from our balacony with a chain saw for 3 hours. I found that this hotel was not helpful, kind, respectful, or courteous. I would not recommended them.

This place is tolerable for a night or 2; if you want to go on a whim. I never write reviews; but I felt very let down and disappointed with this hotel. I could go on but I will leave it at that.
