First day manager or owner not sure she was very helpful. But it was very load night time. Under the hotel it’s a bar and not possible to sleep. We request another room. We were lucky they had one gave us bigger room. They didn’t clean new room very well. Couple spots easy to see dirty. Also breakfast only 2 plate option and small. Breakfast employee was charge us tea because we order coffee and isn’t like so we want to replace our coffee with tea but they charged. It’s kind of tourist trap like other mostly places in the area! We didn’t extend our stay in same hotel! Needs improvements!

I have stayed here many times over the last few years and it never fails to impress! The bed is comfy, the roku tv gives me youtube comedy i love before sleeping, the warm water shower in a big bathroom is excellent and the included breakfast is amazing with wonderful staff and superb coffee each morning! Highly recommend and will return if i need a hotel again in playa! Excellent!

Property was good. It had a pool. A little far away from the main attractions but overall an amazing room for the budget. One ac unit for a room this large can be insufficant. The rooms are large almost like an apartment. Overall an amazing experience.

The place was clean, and everything worked well. The swimming pool was not big but clean so we were able to cool off after our activities. The breakfast options were very limited but not bad. However although we had a kitchen there were no kitchen utensils. Nonetheless we really liked our stay there.

I liked that this hotel looked very unique and it fit the vibe of the surrounding area. It was antique and very much jungle vibes. What I didn’t like was that our toilet was barely flushing and the sink water kept pooling up. however, we told the staff and they resolved the issue. Overall everybody was nice and we were treated nicely.

Tuvimos un tema que nos cambiaron múltiples veces de habitación y después su TV no servía y nos terminaron cobrando una cantidad tonta según porque nosotros dañamos la TV y la cantidad que pagamos por una TV que la verdad no es buena ni nueva es tonta. Normally when I go to Playa Del Carmen, I stay at all inclusive resorts nearby but often find myself going into town a lot. This time I opted to stay right in town. The double suite I got was large and spacious. The location was great. It was convenient to the beach and to 5th Ave and lots of dining options. The staff were really great too. I would definitely stay there again.

Friendly staff, room was always clean. Breakfast was always delicious, pool was in shaded area of property so we chose to use the roof top pool across the street which was perfect. Also the beach was a block away as well as famous 5th Ave. Very ideal location with inexpensive accommodations. Simple and favorable property conditions with 24 hour staff. If your on a budget this place was great!

Wifi does not work in the bedrooms. They only cleaned twice in a 7 day stay although we had asked them on two different days to clean and said they would but didn’t. We booked an extra night with front desk at a certain price only to back to pay and it was a much higher then told. We didn’t extend our stay.

No hot water in room 201. Mirrors slightly dirty. Sheets/pillow cases smelled of body odor. No WiFi, no tv that worked.

Good location, excellent customer service, made every effort to appease problems, was provided with free breakfast at nearby restaurant which was very yummy. Nice atmosphere, gardens. Rooms were larger than expected and nice. Bed and pillows were comfy for enjoyable sleep.

The state of the place shocking and the service. The noise form the stress is so loud. When I checked in I was given a bed sheet, so I had to make my own bed and the sheets were so thin.

The utensils in the space hardly exist and the one that are there are flirty and dirty. It was use and no one washed them.

I asked the staff about directions to travel, his answer was I don’t know and asked me to seek the tour operator which scared me. I believe the hostels and the tour operator are connected

There is no hot water. The air condition was never switch on so the room was too hot and the place is dirty.

The room was comfortable but next to the washing so it’s quiet loud plus it’s bright in the room with the blinds down. Breakfast at Mr.waffle isn’t bad and worth a bite so no complaints!

Fell down the stairs since they decided to use plastic slick paint on the handrails which are also covered on tree gunk, the stairs are steep with a few remnants of anti slip strips, those are nearly eroded from I suspect are multiple falls. The staff heard the commotion and witness the bruises on myself and my toddler, their answer was to evade the topic and just indicate that they couldn't take care of it because of bad weather, some rain.

On the last morning there was a block energy blackout and of course this dingy place had no back up power, which led to us precariously trying to not fall again while climbing the death stairs now without any light to help find the last remnants of anti slip strips

No TV service, bad WiFi, bad toilets. This place is lucky I'm not litigious which might be what has led to such an abismal service.

Too much noise in the street untill 1 am, there are security video cameras but no keys or no ways to lock the door, anybody can come in wherever they want to.

They advertised free wifi but there was none in the only air conditioned room. Air conditioning was only from 9 pm to 9 am and you couldn’t turn it on. They came into your room with the remote. The hostel rooms had no locks on the bedroom door OR on the hostel communal rooms. It felt very unsafe. There was no storage big enough for a suitcase. I had to fight for over two weeks to get a refund after I checked out after one night. There was extremely loud music blasting until midnight. The best thing going for it was the instagram worthy exterior.

My toilet broke, the handle on my bedroom door fell off and I got trapped in my room. The sheets were stained and room wasn't very clean. There was no hot water. The staff was great though and the location was right in the middle of town.

Good for a short stay in Playa

We were thankful to be on the main level, not needing to carry our luggage up 2 floors, but we were not put in the room that we paid for. We paid for a 2 bed room, and we were given a King bed. We were told they were full and none available. Then when I showed my receipt stating we paid for 2 beds they had a room but it was on the 3rd floor and the AC was off.

Breakfast is just around the corner, but their English is quite limited. We didn’t realize that they had a set menu for hotel guests, but when they tried to translate, it didn’t make sense.

The pool was nice, but in need of some TLC and FULL of pollen. The other grounds and greenery were beautiful.

The property was clean and close to everything. We booked for two queens but got a king bed so we had to share. The kitchen had no pots and pans or utensils. We asked the reception and one staff said they don't provide them, so had to buy them. three days later, one staff said that they do provide them and gave us a pot. It stated that we would get a welcome drink but got none. When we asked, the receptionist said, we could get one tomorrow.

The hotel is located in a nice area of Playa del Carmen with lots of places to have fun, but the hostel for men only have one shower and one toilet for more than 8 guys to use it, and some of the employees come to take showers there too. theres a bar downstairs that plays music live till 1 or 2am that makes very hard to sleep, some of the front desk people are rude, specifically a lady who always has a smelling poop face, the hand soap container to wash your hands after using the toilet is usually empty and one day of the week I spent there, nobody came to clean around, overflowing kitchen and bathrooms waste baskets, also bad doors and broken electrical outlets which is dangerous., but the place has lots a potential with some improvements!!

Loved staying here. Originally booked for 1 night and ended up booking 3 more nights. Very chill atmosphere, it is noisy at night from the street and the music, so if you’re a light sleeper bring ear plugs. Breakfast was wonderful. Only issues were a little more language barrier than I’d have thought, no lights for each bunk, so hard to do anything if anyone is sleeping and 1 toilet for 10 people. But overall AMAZING stsy!

Ok so my family had 3 reservations and we arrived early, they were able to hand us 2 rooms about an hour before 3pm which was check-in time. The third room was not ready till 4:45pm, but it’s fine we had our stuff in one of the other rooms in the meantime. So one of my families deluxe room did not have a trash can and we asked about it they said they were out of them. I had the presidential suite and it was cute and all, but there were some issues.
First you should know they don’t have elevators which seems fine until you have to haul big luggage’s up 4 flight of stairs. The water pressure was ok, one of the bathrooms in the suite did not give any hot water, luckily the other shower did. Our king size bed was hard as a rock,
But the other room had 2 queens that were better. Wifi is included but really bad in some areas. Also no iron in the room and when I asked the front desk they said they had just lended it out to another room and when they received it they would let me borrow it. We had the rooms reserved for 7 days and never got the iron. Also you should know they don’t allow drinking or eating of any sort , outside of your hotel room. Which means you can’t bring any thing to the pool or outdoor patio etc. It is a cute place but nothing more than that, very very basic, unfortunately would not stay here again. Also breakfast that was included was not good- a soggy waffle and “fruit”, they brought me a plate with 1/2 of a banana in slices lol. I honestly expected more!

I would not recommend this hotel. The night I arrived, the room was dirty, the included breakfast is a joke. The orange juice is like a kool aid or tang drink and you only get coffee if you wake up early or you’re stuck with none or a clear brown drink they called coffee. We ended up not even staying for the included breakfast.Also, don’t be fooled by the kitchen amenities mentioned in the description. Yes the room has a kitchen but does not have even a spoon or even a napkin. No utensil whatsoever, no pan, no fork, nothing! Staff were very friendly that’s about the only good thing I can say about the hotel. Overall, do not recommend.

They canceled my 3-day reservation.

I had a flight delay. When I arrived they had already canceled my reservation even though I reserved it for 3 nights. The hotel clerk was not able to contact the travel agency. Even though the room was available they could not give it to me until the reservation was reactivated. After waiting an hour I found another hotel.

Hotel is great , we were stuck in the middle of a hurricane and they made sure we were taken care of. The only thing I would recommend is Having more cookware in the private rooms. There was only one frying pan and it didn’t work well in a full kitchen. A pot and a couple spoons And a knife would go a long way. But the hotel is great in a good location and the staff was very friendly. Overall awesome choice for the money.

Rough but acceptable for the price.

Well the main issue is that the hotel (which is a rebrand) is very new, which comes with pros and cons.

Pros:
-The rooms have a kitchen-living room aside from the beds effectively making a normal room a suite (at least in 201, we weren't upgraded as far as I know)
-Location
-Fun \"instagrammable\" decor
-Full size fridge
-Very decent breakfast
-Some plates were in our room (never returned after using them)
-Room was very clean.

Cons:
-NO BEER AT A BEER HOTEL (They don't have a liquor license yet)
-Bathroom ammeneties are scarse and not marked. (Couldn't tell the difference between shampoo and soap)
- Room service (or any food or drink aside from breakfast) does not exist.
- Most of their breakfast juice options weren't available.
- WiFi did not work in our room (201) and we're told it was the general wifi not working. Funny enough it did work in the dinning area.
-Lamp in the middle of the terrace is not only cumbersome but not secure, I tripped on it and it felt over.
--The staff have me conflicting information about street parking. To be fair the new Pay-for-parking law just started in December 2019.

Nice place to stay! Great location

Excellent location and service from everyone there. Rooms are very spacious and clean. Stayed in a suite and the only thing I would add are utensils and kitchenware (since it had a stove, fridge and microwave but no plates, cups or anything to make stuff). Bathroom was very big too. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it 😊

The hotel is in a great location -- only a short walk to the beach and to all the shops/restaurants/music on 5th Avenue. It's also right near a taxi stand. The staff is very friendly. They were putting in a new patio by the pool, so there was some construction -- but, that should be finished soon.

Slightly awkward access into the property with no slope, just steps for your luggage. The address doesn’t always come up on google maps etc, but is exactly opposite the Grand Hyatt so you can use that as a reference point.

I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel, it was very affordable for the location...once we got there I realized it was much closer to everything than I had imagined. 5th Ave. Was just a block behind us, the beach was a 3min walk away, they also served us breakfast, and for a 6person room it was very spacious,I usually hate sleeping in hotel beds but everything was very clean and comfortable. Will definitely be booking again for our next trip.

El cargo por mascota es exageradamente alto, 350% más elevado que en otro hotel al que llegué es misma semana. Las señoritas de recepción es muy amable y eso mejora mucho la experiencia. La ubicación es muy buena. Las camas muy incómodas y el horario de desayuno limitado. Las áreas comunes no fueron limpiadas en 3 días pues la misma basura en la escalera el día que llegué seguía ahí. Sin embargo en general es buena opción.

A nice choice, near the 5th Avenue (a big plus) and the Mamitas Beach. You have plenty of options for food and beverages. The property is interesting very holistic. The room is enormous! The thing i didn't like is that my TV didn't have cable or... service... I needed to ask ay reception about a Rokú to watch... nothing, because it was blocked by a PIN that i didn't had... The wi-fi was good, but you need to connect to other network, not the one that the info tells you. A big plus: the breakfast, plenty of options, but the only day i was there, i ask for the chef's recommendation, and it was a fail... they didn't gave me anything else.

Ofrecieron servicio de internet y TV en la habitación y no hay tal, el desayuno incluido únicamente es de 7:00 a 9:00 hrs., sólo un café y un plato con un Pat de huevos

Alojamiento limpio y ordenado aunque faltan algunos accesorios para tener en la cocina del mismo departamento. Esta muy cerca de playas y la quinta avenida buena zona restaurantes etc

Falta un poco de mantenimiento al mobiliario de las instalaciones y el servicio de limpieza no es tan frecuente como en otros hoteles, pero en general está muy bien.
El que tenga alberca e incluya el desayuno es excelente.
Muy buena ubicación. La atención de las chicas de la recepción es muy ágil y amable.
Excelente relación precio - servicio.

Santuario Playa ist wirklich eine coole Location. Außergewöhnlich ist schon der erste Eindruck… Gebäude und Innenhof alles in mexikanischem Altrosa, was auch gut zur Deko passt.
Das Zimmer welches wir hatten, „Master Suite“, war modern eingerichtet, großzügig mit eigenem Wohn- und Essbereich, einer kleinen Küchenzeile und großem Bad… neu renoviert (ca. 35€ pro Nacht).
Die Mitarbeiter waren alle sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend.
Einziger kleiner Minuspunkt war, dass am ersten Tag der Safe-Schlüssel nicht auffindbar war und das obere von zwei Schlösser an der Zimmertür nicht funktionierte. Dies wurde aber am zweiten Tag zügig repariert. Wir hatten trotzdem immer das Gefühl dort sicher zu sein. Nachts war extra noch ein Wachmann am Eingang.
Die Umgebung ist auch sehr gut. Gleich rechts neben dem Hotel ein Oxxo, wo man Getränke und Kleinigkeiten kaufen kann, eine Straße weiter ein paar coole Bars mit Life Musik und um die Ecke schon die 5ta Avenida, die Fußgängerzone.
Der Strand ist ebenfalls nur einen Block weg (ca. 10 min Fußweg). Die Strände im allgemeinen sind sehr sauber, allerdings in manchen Bereichen sehr schmal, da die letzten Hurrikane viel weggespült hatten.
Bester Strandabschnitt ist vor dem Hotel Mahekal, in dem man auch Essen oder Getränke bekommt oder einen Tagespass kaufen kann (in der Nebensaison 1200 MXN pro Person All-Inklusive!).
Alles in allem kann ich das Santuario Playa absolut empfehlen.

Terrible lugar! No te dejan usar el aire acondicionado, a pensar de estar a 34 grados y el hotel sucio y descuidado, lo único bueno es la ubicación y el desayuno.

poco amable la resección , el cuarto era reservado para 3 y solo te daban 2 tuallas que la 3 tenía que pagar extra que por la ecología . Reserve anteriormente y cancele y no se me devolvió el dinero .
