Staff was very friendly. They don’t serve alcohol until after 11 AM so if you want a mimosa with breakfast, that’s not going to happen. It was walking distance to the shopping area, which was great. Their Italian, Mexican and Steakhouse restaurants are all incredible. The entertainment was spectacular. The room we had faced the street, so it was very loud and the AC in the room was loud also. There wasn’t much of a beach area and it was right next to the public beach so no privacy. All in all it was a great experience and I would go back again.

Concierge asked us if we wanted to upgrade our room to an ocean view but we Love staying on the first floorm very easy to get to everything this way. We have stayed at this hotel multiple times and love it here. Pool is great. There is a small beach you can go too (not much there but still nice with a bar and beach chairs) The staff is amazing. Miguel is our faborite bartender and Gustavo was amazing at making out check out experience and quick and easy process. The rest of the staff, waiters, hostesses, maid, concierge, etc are always fabulous and willing to help you with a smile. Would absolutely recommend.

So this may be a bit long. First, the resort was spotless. I’ve never been in a cleaner one.
There were lots of options for food but Bella was our hands down fav! It had many more menu selections than the other restaurants did. The steakhouse really needs to add fries to their menu as a side for their really good steaks and cheeseburgers. The sushi place was awesome too! And loads of options for the buffet - breakfasts were amazing.
But what really impressed us here was the staff. I’ve never stayed anywhere where the staff catered to you like they did here. They were incredibly friendly and helpful with an outstanding work ethic! Their customer service skills are truly above reproach!

The rooms at this resort were very clean. The staff was competent and very kind. I never saw one staff member on their phone - their full attention was to the guests. I loved the location of the resort. We were able to go for walks on fifth avenue mornings and evenings.

Location was good, for an all inclusive the food exceeded expectations. Property was well maintained. Staff was friendly however the couple of times we needed to reach the front desk, it was impossible to get someone to answer. There is limited space by the pool to snag a lounge chair. We would go down for breakfast early and people would already have towels and personal belongings “holding” chairs, but wouldn’t come down until noon to actually use them. The staff didn’t discourage this. We ended up renting cabanas which was great, because we didn’t want to jockey for position, however the staff needs to have a clear directive on how to handle guests who exercise this behavior. We had a nice vacation, but wouldn’t go out of my way to stay here again.

I had a very average stay. And a very average experience. I had paid for a 2 bed “all inclusive” and I felt nickeled and dimed at every turn. At check in, I was pulled into a room by a salesman to pay another $140 for my guest to drink and dine.
Later in the night I was returning from the beach and was approached by staff. They warned me about a “$300 smoking and vaping” fee. And I was getting a warning. Real vibe killer.
Then I checked my credit card statement and saw I was charged $150 for non replaced room keys. Decent property and location but for the extra $300 I would have stayed somewhere nicer. I spent the rest of my vacation at xcaret. They never disappoint.

We stayed here for 4 nights, the staff were excellent, the activities were good. The parties could be a little longer instead just an hour. The live music, & Caribbean parties were our favourite. We would definitely be back.

All the staff were very attentive and kind and helpful. the pools were clean and maintained. our only disappointment was that the beach was not as accessible as we thought, but still nice once we got there. just pretty rocky. All the food was excellent and fresh, we were really impressed. and the little town near by was great! overall would definitely recommend and go back myself!

Evening Entertainment was decent, the silent dance party was unique and a blast. Spa was good as well. The staff were always happy to answer questions we had. I'd go back again for sure.

Very nice boutique type of hotel. The room was beautiful with a nice, comfortable bed. It lacked ammentities beyond soap, shampoo and a coffee maker. No robes, slippers, toiletries or mini bar selections. Staff in general, was cordial, polite and helpful, but my interactions seemed transactional. Food service and selection varied. The italian restaurant was the best, especially the outdoor seating. The Grill also served a great fillet. The buffet was OK, but just a standard selection of dishes. What diminished this hotel was it felt cheap, meaning everything had a price or restriction. A card to get a pool towel, a CC hold in case something was damaged in your room, room service charge was $10.00 per delivery, the cabana fee was$125.00 per day. I mentioned the lack of room ammentities. The 2 major negatives, for me, my opinion, were: outrageously loud music and DJ at the pool for hours in the afternoon. The constant, strong percussion beat that i couldn't get away from. The other major issue was the pool opened at 7:30, however by the time i got to the pool at 8:00, every single chair and umbrella was taken with a towel and personal item, meaning they space was already taken. However, most days, many chairs were unoccupied all day long. The 4th day of my stay, i went to the pool at 6:50 AM, 40 minutes before the pool opened, and again, every chair, lounge and umbrella were taken. A complaint to the concierge did not correct the situation.

A smaller resort with fun entertainment, good food, and very kind staff. The drinks aren’t the best but they have a menu you can try things from or customize whatever suits you. The beds are a little on the firmer/lumpy side and our thermostat was locked until we called the front desk and maintenance came to adjust it. Pool chairs are hard to come by as there’s no enforcement for people “reserving” them, but the poolside cabanas are worth the extra spend. The spa was also lovely. Overall I would recommend the resort!

We had an ocean view room. The room was beautiful and well equipped. The staff are exemplary, very attentive and kind. Having the 24/7 snack bar was appreciated as well as the coffee bar (with pastries and ice cream). The nightly entertainment was outstanding.

The room, staff, drinks, food, and activities were absolutely amazing. Everyone is super friendly and helpful. You can see the ocean from the lower pool area. The only thing to note, the property itself is beautiful but there is not a large actual beachfront to this property. There is a small section of sandy shore on the north side of the property that is relatively secluded from the rest of the resort. When booking here I wasn’t aware it was only a small section but it did not take away from the experience at this resort. So if you are simply wanting only sandy beachfront sitting you can still get that here it will just be in a smaller setting. But the pools, bar, and cabanas were so lovely too so I didn’t miss out on that.

They also changed checkout to 11:00, but since I had booked 12:00 in advance, they honored it after I pointed it out. Overall, good value for money, but not a luxury-level experience.

Was a great stay! food was above average from what you expect from all inclusive. The pizza by the pool was actually yummy and I’m from NYC so I know pizza. Only food that sucked was room service. All staff was friendly and welcoming. Great location next to beach and 5th ave. We will be booking with Wyndham resorts again. Adults only was perfect no screaming babies or little kids running around.

We didn’t enjoy our stay here because everything was too strict. We couldn’t play any of our own music, we were told to put it away and can’t play our speakers. Some of the staff were rude and didn’t make us feel welcome. Bar wasn’t opened until 11, the food was alright. We had better food at 5th avenue. Which was outside of our resorts. The pool was too crowded couldn’t get any lounge chairs. I went there with my bf and a few friends. All in our mid 30-40’s, and this place made us feel like we’re staying at a retirement home. Overall I WOULD’NT come back here.

If you want to be in downtown Playa Del Carmen, the location doesn't get better than this. Just one block off 5th Avenue. However, the trade off for being downtown is that the resort is much smaller than those that are more isolated/not walkable. If you plan to spend most of your time at the resort, those bigger places are preferable because they have multiple pools, more dining options, more activities, etc. The Wyndham Alltra Playa has basically no beach to speak of (though it's mentioned).
Our room was lovely, overlooking the pool and ocean. They wanted to give us a ground floor room but we held out for the higher floor (which wasn't available when we checked in). It was worth it.
Every staff member we encountered was lovely.
Our main complaint was that the hot tub (which is really hard to find) was only open until 4:30 PM (!). It was a rooftop hot tub, and would have had a lovely sunset view but ... it was already shut down well before sunset!

The hotel (like most in the area) is build out of concrete - the walls are so thick you cannot hear anything next to you or above.
The food really is excellent, we liked the Italian and Steak places the best. You can order more than 1 entree without an issue. However, there is a surcharge for some specialty items (premium wine, lobster, etc.) if you choose - we did not do this. Make sure to make dinner reservations at the 3 onsite restaurants (buffet does not need a reservation) well before dinner if you want a decent time. When we were there you could make reservations 2 days ahead of time, it would suffice to make reservations the morning of to get a time of your choosing.
There was a lot of seaweed along the beach(es) which was cleaned up daily but was present throughout on the beach and in the water. If you like pristine clean water without seaweed - the Playa del Carmen coast is not for you.
If you like doing a little exploring in the water, I would recommend bringing water shoes for the beach at this hotel.

What started off as a challenging first night--exhaustion from the travel and a room too close yo the lobby and bar--turned into an excellent stay. The resort moved us to far better rooms where sleeping was easier. However, overall the staff was very accommodating, kind and thoughtful. Food was good-but not Michelin star quality-but wait staff were attentive. Our rooms were good however the west of the facility is starting to show.

I enjoyed my stay. It has a nice coffee bar, snacks room, and a very good pizza shop. Overall, I only gave it 3 stars because I love waking up and walking to the beach, but unfortunately, I wasn’t able to do that. You have to walk to away from the resort. We spent a day at Mamitas Beach; it’s very pretty, but we had to rent an umbrella for $25, which isn’t bad. However, I prefer a beach. I’m glad I didn’t pay extra for an ocean view.

Room was wonderful this is our second time here we really love the hotel and the area is beautiful. A few mild complaints we requested several times for a main floor room and when we got there they said I should have called which I did. The entertainment was not very assorted we were there 9 days and they had karaoke 5 times. But the saving grace was Jaime he was the most amazing server outside by the pool.

The room was not what we booked. They tried to out us in a standard room with 2 full size beds when we reserved a king jr. suite. They then told us there were no king rooms available but then after going back to the front desk, after half an hour they “found” the correct room. Check in process is far too long. The food is sub par and the drinks are horrible.

This is an amazing resort if you like a great safe, walkable location, decent food, fun staff and a fun daytime pool vibe. Beach isn't fantastic so if you're pool people, this is a great choice (you can walk down near the Hyatt for better beach swimming. Nightlife isn't super happening, but there are so many clubs and bars within walking distance so I think they don't try to compete. Incredible value for an adults only. Resort is spotless too. Employees are fantastic and welcoming. Shout out to Jose Luis at the upstairs pool bar, Jaime at the main pool, Samain at Zarape restaurant, and Jonathan at the North Beach bar! Also the activities director Janika was so fun!! These people worked double time to make our vacation fun, relaxing, and worry free! We visited Feb 2026 (our second time) and are already planning our third trip. You cannot ever beat Mexico for the hospitality and food and this resort is a consistent choice for us.

The staff are EXCELLENT and VERY attentive. Note the \"standard room\" HAS NO WINDOW and no balcony. You're literally in a closet, which is NOT clear on the room photos in the listing. I think it's a scam to get you to upgrade and pay extra (which we did). The location was great and convenient. Check in/out was easy and fast.

Wonderful and attentive staff - they clearly enjoy what they do! Oceanfront room was fabulous! A-la-carte restaurants were very good - excellent meals. Buffet got repetitive but food was generally good and always plentiful. Beach is rocky, but if you simply want to sit on the beach and hear the waves, it's as good as any!
